Got xp up and running for some time on a mac mini via bootcamp.
now, i'm thinking of buying a new imac. so just wondering how can i "copy" the xp from mac mini to the new imac. thx

I suppose the answer you are hoping for is something like Winclone the free trial cloneware. But no - what you want is not possible....
Basically there is no seamless transfer software / function like Apple has for OS X. Even with cloneware you are running a risk because the drivers are for the Mini (video chip for example). Suddenly you have a clone of a Mini install trying to run the hardware of an iMac - experimental at best. Even if this was Mini to Mini you would have an issue with activation regarding licence key (easily gotten around if you phone MS and explain / get permission.) But anyhoo - you, my friend, need to store externally all your digital valuables and prepare to reinstall Boot Camp Windows on your iMac (unless you have a free weekend to waste fixing glitches)
A fresh Windows install always works much better anyway - it's a good idea to do that about every six months. (Not so with OS X)

The problem is that I burned these CD's myself from music that I added from my personal collection to iTunes. The INFO is ON the CD's (it appears perfectly when I put the CD in my Numark mixer...so I know the info is on the CD), but for some reason, my MAC PRO will NOT read the info on the burned CD when I place the CD into the MAC PRO. The CD was burned on a MAC that I no longer own. But there HAS to be a way to transfer songs from a burned CD with the INFO that is on the CD burned with iTunes.

When I recently got a new MacBook, I set it up with Times Machine using a backup of the old computer. It could not have been easier. If you use Time Machine - that will copy the contents of the old Mac to the new Mac - iTunes library included. You will have to authorize the new Mac in iTunes - Store>Authorize this computer.
There are ways of copying the purchased contents from the iPad to the new iTunes library as well if you need to do that. But as long as you have the old Mac - copying the library and putting it on the new Mac makes the most sense.

Hi Tsofa,
You need to locate and copy the Domain.site2 file which iWeb creates.
By default this is usually located in User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/
You can copy this to any location on the other mac. As long as you use this file to start iWeb, it will recognise it as your default.
If you want to create a new one, but still keep the old, just rename the file and start iWeb, which will generate a new Domain.sites2 file

I'd like to create separate user accounts for "work" and "play" (so that I can do things like have separate address books, etc...). However, I already have LOTS of personalized settings (trackpad behavior, login items, etc) that I'd like to keep the same between the two accounts.
Is there a way to transfer all of the user settings from one account to another?

You'll need to copy your /Home/Library folder. Make sure you back up first before doing the following. Log out of both your Work and Play accounts. Log in to a third account with administrator privileges. Assuming you are copying from the account called "work" to the account called "play", enter the following in Terminal:
sudo rm -rf ~play/Library (this deletes Play's Library folder.)
sudo cp -R ~work/Library ~play/Library (this copies Work's Library folder to Play's folder.)
sudo chown -R play ~play/Library (this fixes permissions of Play's new Library folder.)

A window appears with your boot drive, double click on it to open
Inside is Users folder, double click to open it
Inside is your User accounts, double click on the one you want to send files too
Double click on the Public folder drop the files into the DropBox folder,
The permissions will change and can be used in the other user account when you log into it.

If you want to be able to view the book with iPhoto on the other Mac you'll have to copy the library containing the book to the other Mac. You won't be able to import that book into the other library.
Make a duplicate copy of the library containing the book and rename the folder "Book Library". Open it with iPhoto and delete all of the files that are not in the book. Then copy the Book Library folder to the other Mac and open. You can also burn the Book Library folder to a CD as a way to archive the book in case you decide to order another copy at a later date. I create a separate library for each book I create and order and archive it to CD when I've ordered.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. I am pretty sure the ratings are stored in the main library file itself, not attached to the media files unlike things such as artist and album. They therefore don't transfer with you adding the file to a different library.
Check Dougscripts and see if there is a script that helps with this. One solution would be to perhaps temporarily borrow an unused tag field such as grouping and have Dougscript "place this in that" put a copy of the rating in that field, then transfer it to back to rating when you add it to a second library. I haven't done this but it might work.

Just get copies of the song files and add them to your iTunes library. With the exception of any DRM-protected files (purchased before mid-2009 and never upgraded) they will play fine, even though they are technically associated with the original account.

You usually make contact groups via a computer (Mac or PC). If you use a mac and sync. via iCloud, you can go into Contacs.app and organize your contacts as you wish. Then (if) you sync with iCloud the groups you've changed or created will be displayed on your iPhone and (or) iPad.
