From powerpoint to adobe presenter : link problem

Hi,
Can someone helps me? I have a problem with my link from
powerpoint to adobe presenter; indeed adobe presenter doesn't pay
attention of my link called something like "back to last view" and
it's very important in my presentation. Is that normal? Is there a
solution?

This is normal. This call is not recognized by Presenter. The
best method to create an effect is to copy the slide an give the
user the ability to go "back" to the slide but by using branching
they are actually seeing a different slide. Then the slide that
they are directed to can be given the direction to go back to the
slide they came from or the slide after that.

  • Error printing from PowerPoint to Adobe Acrobat

I'm having problems printing from PowerPoint 2007 to Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. I am geting the error message "Adobe PDF creation cannot be continue because Acrobat is not activated. Acrobat has been activated long ago, and I have created Acrobat files before now with PowerPoint, as well as other programs, but now this is happening.
    Could you help?

It appears that it might have been some corruption due to having my computer on for the last couple of days. I shut down, let my computer sit for some time, then rebooted. The error has disapeared. I still am curious as to what happened.
    Thanks everyone.

  • InDesign to Adobe Acrobat to Adobe Reader Link problem

Hi - I'm responsible for a long conversation about link problems in creating file links in InDesign that did not work in Acrobat. At the end of that long discussion, I thought I solved the problem, but didn't. Since then, I've been MUCH more observant.
The problem appears to take place in Adobe Reader.
My home computer on Win7 is different than my work Computer (XP), but I have the same software on both.
At work, I discovered that when I clicked on a PDF, it worked fine, that its links opened a new PDF window, but when I clicked on links on the second document, the links failed and Microsoft returned an error message telling me that I was screwed. Because I was screwed, I couldn't see what was in the path of that error.
It turns out that for some unknown reason (which you might clarify for me), my Adobe Readers are attempting to open my documents in Internet Explorer and that just won't work.
What I observed at home is that I made 5 test documents in ID, and ported them to Acrobat. As it turns out, my default for opening PDFs is Adobe Reader, which I saw on the chrome of the first document I opened. When I clicked a link, and I got the error message, I noticed my browser was up.
When I set my default for opening in Acrobat, everything worked like a charm! How about that!
Now then, what that says to me is that Adobe Reader is to be used exclusively with a browser, so if the people who are going to read your internal PDF files with Reader without those files being on a web server of some type, you are totally screwed. The only way you can use Reader is if you click on the file and bring it up directly. Don't rely on linking to other documents.
I mean, that is what it seems to me.
Now, I am creating a big project for an environment without a webserver and obviously my sense of panic is palpable. That said, I believe that all my users can read my files using Acrobat (to be tested tomorrow), which I hope means I can breathe a bit easier.
Do any of you have any thoughts on this subject? If you are really curious, I can make a packet of test files available.

The files and the PDFs are all in the same directory.
The tests are on local drives. All indesign files and their related PDFs were in the same directory.
The same for Word and its related PDFs. Note that the PDFs created by Word then read by Adobe Reader worked correctly. They all opened in Adobe Reader.
If the default program for opening PDFs is Acrobat, everything works correctly, with the added benefit of everything opening in a different window, which is what I want (yet to be tested at work). If the default program is Adobe Reader, the second generation of links do NOT work because Reader opens in Internet Explorer.
When I open a Word-created PDF with Acrobat, view the link, and click to the Actions menu, the action is "Open a file"
When I open an InDesign PDF with Acrobat and do the same, the action says "Open a web link"
    Big BIG BIG bug.
Are you seeing the link commands by editing them in Acrobat? If not, try, so you can see the exact command and file or URL instruction. It still may be a bug, but you'll have better evidence when you report it here:
Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
And, you might want to try correcting a link command in Acrobat, to see if can work for both Acrobat and Reader.

  • Unable to paste image from Powerpoint to Adobe X Standard

    Good Morning all,
We currently have Adobe X Standard (10.1.3) installed on a Windows 2008 R2 environment shared between a dozen users. One user is attempting to copy an image from Powerpoint 2010 into a PDF. Trying the standard ctrl+c & ctrl+v commands doesn't work. If we go to edit in Adobe the paste option is greyed out. So we tried the snipping tool to see if this works and it does, but it's very hit & miss.
I thought that it may have something to do with the Standard version on Win 2008 so i installed it also on a stand-alone Win 7 machine. The copy & paste works absolutely fine.
Has anyone come across this before with Adobe installed on Win 2008 R2?
    Many thanks
    Dan

    Thanks for the response David.
I've submitted a bug request. It is strange in regards to replicating the issue but your response is appreciated
I did contact Adobe Technical Support via the online chat and they suggested that the copy & paste function is not available under the Standard version. I did some more testing as per my previous replies and still the same thing happened.
As a workaround we managed to use the comment > stamp > copy stamp from clipboard function. This works well and in a similar way to copy & paste.

  • Export Captivate into PowerPoint or Adobe Presenter or similar?

I have created a 30 minute security awareness course using Adobe Captivate 8 and one of the firm members asked if I could put the content into a user-friendly type program that he could manipulate, extract from and create his own mini e-alert type lessons from for his clients.  He wants to be able to add his own comments in his own voice, change the content to be client-specific, etc.  I do not know how to take the information I have in Captivate and move it into a novice type program.  Any suggestions?

PIP is available in Presenter Video Creator, not in the normal Presenter plug-in. It is not available in Captivate normal projects with extension cptx. You can insert a PIP in the TOC, but have to record it separately.
In Captivate HD Video Demo, extension cpvc (which is also a video creator with a dedicated video editor) you can insert a PIP in the editor. But again you have to create it separately.
The choice is up to you: an easy way to have both recordings together, with very limited editing possibilites in Presenter. Or the Captivate way, more work, better editor.
Afraid to repeat again: we are only talking about pure video now. In the normal Captivate files, that are based on slides, you can insert a video (like a PIP) and distribute it over slides, adapting the slide markers is available  in the Video menu. No webcam recording for the moment in Captivate.

  • Adobe presenter 8 : problem with video playback

when I import a video ( flv, mp4.. - it doesn't matter ) I can see the video when I preview my slide but I can't see the video when I publish the presentation. Help !!

I know I posted this in another thread, but it seems to be relevant here as well:
Try converting your video to FLV before inserting it into the presentation. The inline converter in Presenter is... well... simple. I've never had much faith in it and prefer to use the Adobe Media Encoder, http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=160&platfor m=Windows, or something like the AVS Video Converter, http://www.avs4you.com .

Quiz function error, have selected backwards movement so students can answer out of sequence, with scorm selected, a course requirement. Works in preview but, after zipping and uploading to Blackboard, it no longer allows out of sequence answering and submission grades zero. Very frustrating!
Is there a way around this?
    Appreciate any pointers,

  • Adobe dynamic link problem with AE projects.

    Hi,
I have 2 After Effects projects in the same directory, slide.aep and slide 2.aep. The trouble is that Premiere keeps linking to slide 2.aep when I tell it to link to slide.aep. Both the AE projects have the same composition name inside them.
    Is this a bug?

I have been dealing with this issue ever since CS4.  PITA.
The way around it is to have TWO different Comps in the SAME Project.
I.E...slide.aep and slide 2.aep both under the same project utilizing two different compositions.

  • Audio Problems in Adobe Presenter: Help Needed Urgently!!

I am using trial versions of Adobe Presenter 7 and Adobe Connect 8.
I created a presentation in in Powerpoint 2002 and published through Adobe Presenter to Adobe Connect Pro. This presentation has voice over recorded through the Adobe Presenter "record audio" option.
In Adobe Connect Pro, I created a meeting and shared the above mentioned presentation through the "Share Document" option in Connect Pro.
Now, when I play the presentation in this Adobe Connect Meeting, I am not getting any audio that was recorded in Adobe Presenter. Whereas if I play the published presentation directly it plays the recorded audio.
Can anyone help me on this?
    1. Are there any settings to be done in Powerpoint or Adobe Presenter or Connect pro?
    2. Is it the problem of Trial Account or something like that?
Please let me know the solution. Need to work on this ASAP!!!
    Thanks in Advance,
    Yogini

This is a weird one. If you created a prezo with audio and published it to AC (Adobe Connect) and everything worked fine on your desktop then it should work fine in AC i.e. there are no other settings required on AC's side, it should just play.
As I am typing this I thought of similar audio problems that we have experienced in the past. A big one would be where another user created a PPT on their laptops and handed it to us. When testing the audio did not work. Reason being is that not all the files were coppied over BUT I must accept that this is not your problem as it definately worked on your PC before you published it to AC.
Wait there is one setting in the publish settings. In the output options tick "Upload source presentation with assests", then tick audio.
I cannot think of anything else. There is a man called Heyward Drummond on the Adobe Connect General forum, who is a real master at answering queries like this. Why not post your query there and see if he comes up with an answer?

  • Adobe Presenter 8 crashes on publish

When I try to publish my powerpoint in adobe presenter 8, I get an error that says PowerPoint has experienced a serious problem with adobe presenter add-in. I've seen several others having this issue and I have tried all of the things that have been suggested:
I replaced all the audio that had been recorded into the presentation with files that were created then imported
I've checked for updates for all of my adobe products
I tried a one-slide powerpoint to see if my presentation might be too long
    Here are my system specs:
    I'm running 32-bit Win7
    I have PowerPoint 2007
    I have Adobe Presenter 8
I'm trying to publish to pdf
Please help - this issue has kept me from finishing a project for way too long.

  • Adobe Connect Crashes During Adobe Presenter Upload

    Windows 7/Adobe Connect 9/Adobe Presenter 7.07 Build 7754/PowerPoint 2007
Adobe Presenter technical support tells me it's an Adobe Connect problem because I can pubish inside Presenter without a problem.
I have uploaded numerous PowerPoint presentations with quizes over the last few years without a problem. The problem seems to have started when I got a new computer with Windows 7 (old was XP Pro). The error I get is either the classic Internet Explorer 'page cannot be found' or the presentation gets to Connect but with the stock Request Not Processed.
Here's what I've done to troubleshoot:
Tried same process using using Firefox and Chrome and still get the errors
Created one single powerPoint page without any formatting - a title slide with 'Text' in both fields and this works
Tried an unformated (text only) full PowerPoint presentation without the quiz and it gets the Request Not Processed error
I did not try quiz only for seemingly obvious reasons
Your thoughts will be duely appreciated!!! TIA!!! The training I develop is essential to our quality standards.

It sounds like a network issue. You say you have connected in different locations, did you connect in a location where others were not having the issue? Could your IT staff work with you to identify why you may be having connectivity issues?
If everyone was experiencing the problem, then I'd be inclined to say it was an issue with your Connect account, but being isolated to you, it seems like the problem may be local. Sometimes wireless routers get overwhelmed in busy environments, and may cause some individuals to see temporarily lost connectivity. Other times it may just be a wireless router going bad. If you are hard wired, then it may be router that is beginning to fail. Be sure that when you test other locations, you are connecting to different hardware.
Since you are running the add-in, I don't believe the browser should make any difference.

  • Launching Adobe Presenter from PowerPoint

I am trying to launch Adobe Presenter from PowerPoint and keep getting the following error:
"Adobe Presenter has encountered an unexpected problem while working with this presentation.  Try saving your work to a new file and restarting PowerPoint.  If the problem persists, consult the Help menu item, or contact support at http://www.adobe.com/support/presenter."

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Which version of Adobe Presenter are you using ?
Which version of MS Office are you using ?
Did you try using Adobe Presneter with a different user account of your computer ?
Does this happen with every presentation or with a specific presentation ?

  • Adobe Presenter 9 and PowerPoint 2013 - Missing Import Audio from PowerPoint button

I am only able to intermitantly use the Import button in Adobe Presenter 9 to Import Audio from PowerPoint. Why would I be able to do it on some presentations but not all? I thought it was an audio conversion issue but even when I convert the audio (when prompted by PowerPoint) it doesn't always allow me to import it.

I have found a solution if the original PowerPoint was a ppt file, follow these steps:
File > Save As a pptx file
Close PowerPoint (this helps with not corrupting the file)
    Re-open the pptx file
    File > Convert
Save with a new file name (this helps with not corrupting the file)
You should now have the Import from Presentation button if you go to the Presenter tab and click the Import button
I have not found a solution for pptx files yet.

  • PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in.

I've installed Adobe Presenter V7.0.7 Build 7746. When I open an existing PowerPoint file and try and use Presenter, I get the following error: PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in. If you have seen this message multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you want to disable this add-in?
No, I don't want to disable it. When I click No, PowerPoint stops working. I get a message that says: Microsoft PowerPoint has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Widows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. My only choice is to click the Close program button.
When I open the PPT file again, I get the same "experienced a serious problem" message. If anyone has a solution to this, I'd appreciate knowing what it is. It took me a while just to get the Presenter option to appear in the PowerPoint toolbar. Now that I have it, it's not working.
    Thank you!

Thank you for your quick reply. Here are the answers to your questions.
    1. The file I'm having issues with was not created using any version of Presenter. It is simply a PowerPoint file.
    2. The file is a PPT not PPTX.
    3. I am running Windows7 and Office 2010.
I think I might have found the solution to the problem. I opened the PPT file and saved it as a PPTX file. Then I clicked the Presenter option in the PowerPoint toolbar and was able to select different Presenter options with no issues. I opened other PPTX files and I did not get the error window stating 'PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in'.
This seems to work. So, it appears that any PPT file needs to be saved as a PPTX file before using Presenter. If you have another solution that I might be able to keep in my back pocket (in case this happens again and what I did does not work), then please answer. Otherwise, I'm good now.
    Thanks!

In Adobe Presenter 7 and PowerPoint 2007 I have the ability to import existing audio narrations by clicking on Import and then clicking the "Import from presentation" button. The button is missing in PowerPoint 2010. Any ideas on how to get it back?

    Hello,
In PowerPoint 2010; "Import Audio from PowerPoint" is missing .We have logged bug for this. And we will definitely fix this in next release of Presenter. Please use PowerPoint 2007 to use this feature.
