From Premiere to AE, then Back into Premiere

I have edited some footage in Premiere and applied a bunch of effects to it by importing the sequence to AE. I now wish to export the resulting AE comp BACK into Premiere, but while it appears in the bin, it's not allowing me to drag it onto the timeline? Is there any way around this?

You can't reimport AE composition with dynamically linked sequence back into PrPro. Similarly you can't replace a group of clips in PrPro timeline or a sequence, which already contains dynamically linked composition, with dynamically linked composition once again, 'cos that creates an infinite loop.
If you want to bring your dynamically linked sequence back to PrPro, export digital intermediate out of AE and import it into PrPro.

I have a rather complex music/movie library system, as well as the ability to listen/watch the content throughout my house thanks to Control4 - extra vegetables and other various 3rd party equipment. I moved my entire music library onto an external hard drive to free up space on my iMac...then my dog got tangled in the cord and pulled the external drive from my desk to the floor destroying the hard drive...(yes I've already attempted to have the content recovered by specialists- no such luck.
My question is... Is it possible to copy the content from the AppleTV 1st Gen back into my iTunes on my iMac? If so step by step directions would be greatly appreciated!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
The music sync is one - way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.

Problems sending audio to and from STP and then back into FCP

I am having problems getting audio clips back into FCPro 5 after sending them to STP and editing them.
This is my process: "Send" mono file to STP as new audio project file.
Save it in the dialog that opens with "sent" at the end...then it opens in STP.
Edit it.
Save it and select include audio source files.
Switch back to FCPRo and I have a warning "Some Files Went offline", namely the one I just sent to Soundtrack. The clip is now apparently offline and white colored but now has the file name with "sent" included.
Where did I go wrong? This was working for me previously.

I was just relaying what I've heard about the media going offline--I didn't claim that it made sense to me in these sorts of workflows where you know you are changing the media in STP, because you've just sent it to STP to be modified.
I've since dug through the FCP manuals, and it looks like it's the FCP rules about when a clip is considered to be offline that we're hitting--in the User Manual Part 2, on pages 79-80 there are some details about what causes the clip to go offline.
Here is one of the key statements from page 80--a clip is considered offline, "when a media file is modified, moved, or deleted, the modification date of the media file is changed, or the scratch disk becomes unavailable."

Is there a way to host images from an iPad to then post into a forum thread?

Hi all.
I have been using Internet forums on my laptop for a few years, and now use my iPad.
However I cannot post images into a thread using my iPad.
For example I will take a photo using my iPhone or iPad and I then have to email it to my wife's laptop.
I then have to host the photo using say photobucket, then paste the IMG code into the thread.
Then it's back into my iPad to continue the discussion.
Is there a way or an app out there which can allow you to select images from the library on my iPad for hosting?
Then generating IMG codes to post in a thread straight from my iPad without having to use a computer?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a PhotoBucket app. Also there are photo apps that will let you edit your photos on your iPad and upload them to some hosting site like photobucket or some other.
I use PhotoForge2 on my iPad. It provides a variety of sharing methods. Another app that might work for you is PhotoGene.

Indesign CC lags when switching from browser/another app then back to Indesign

When i copy text from say, Word, and go to paste it into my indesign document, there is a delay. Example: When I go from Word, then back to indesign, I click on the text block and other items in my indesign window, but it's unresponsive, almost like it is frozen. After several seconds, which seem like forever, all is fine and i'm able to paste. This also happens when jumping from Chrome or Safari. It does not happen only when I'm pasting text, but also going from Chrome/Safari back to indesign, sometimes indesign is unresponsive then too. I have not noticed this in illustrator.
Today I had to a lot of copying and pasting from word into indesign and it happened all the time. I'm pasting anywhere from half a page to a full page of text. not giants amount at once.

i hear you. i just bought my new mac pro. my last mac was 8 years old and i used to only update my adobe software every couple of years, allowing the bugs to be worked out. i don't jump on the always-need-the-newest bandwagon.
however, i am now being forced into that very model by both companies:
having to join the cable company of software, creative cloud, or choose to never upgrade my 3 apps again, and by being subjected to apple's hardware/software updates, which can affect my workflow.
for me, apple and adobe have managed to work together fine for the past 20 years: bugs being worked out through updates/forums.
the blame game has been going on for as long as i've used these products. it doesn't really add to the conversation at this point.

VZW iPhone 5 will not pick up LTE when sim is removed and put into Galaxy Nexus then back into iPhone 5

I have a VZW iPhone 5 activated as my main phone, I also have a VZW Samsung Galaxy Nexus that I use a sim adapter and swap the sim to. When I swap the sim from the iPhone 5 to the Galaxy Nexus for a day or so then back to the iPhone 5, I cant pickup LTE signal, it just stay at 3G. Although if I put the sim back in the Galaxy Nexus it still picks up LTE.
The only way i can get the LTE back on my iPhone 5 is by going into VZW and getting a new sim card activated, in return kills my old sim card.
Any ideas or help?? Thanks

As I already said, since the iPhone does not do voice over LTE it must be activated on the Verizon CDMA network just like any other CDMA phone. If the Verizon says you must call them to re-activate it on the iPhone, then that's probably the only answer you're going to get. We're just users. We can't control what goes on on the back end of Verizon's network.
You would have to check discussion forums for Verizon or those dedicated to the Nexus to see if this is a common occurence.

I just reformatted my Windows XP computer and need help transfering everthing from my iPad and iPhone back into iTunes

I recently had to format my Windows XP Pro computer and need to transfer all the iTunes information from my iPad1 and iPhone4 back to my PC. I could use some help, everytime I try it it says it will delete everything on my iPhone/Pad and reload everything from the new iTunes (now only 54 songs instead of the 342 that I have on my iPhone right now.)

You have a backup of your computer, or at the very least of your iTunes media, correct?
Simply copy your backup of your iTunes media into the iTunes library on your new computer.
Connecting and syncing your device to the new computer without first recovering your iTunes media is a really, really, really bad idea. iDevices are designed to ONLY sync with one computer. When you plug your device into a new computer, it will wipe all media on the device when it syncs. The only media you may be able to salvage and transfer to the new computer would be anything bought directly on the device.
If you do not have a backup of your iTunes media, then you will want to look at a way (using software from a third party company) to extract the media from you iDevice.

With ios 7 some of my apps cause my phone to freeze then flash from an update screen then back to last viewed function.

my iphone 5 is freezing then going into a cycle from phone to white update screen then back to phone. this will only stop if i reset all on phone between cycles.

How do i take music from my Ipod and put back into my CPU.

I lost some music files on my i tunes, but i still have all of these songs on my i pod. How do i take the music off my Ipod and put it back into my i tunes. I have a PC using windows XP. I lost a total of 1381 songs. I lost these song by trying to down load Music into a T-Moble SideKick 3. I was told by the sales rep that the Sidekick 3 was, I tunes friendly. Yeah right!!!!

I am in the same predicament. My computer crashed and windows was destroyed. Windows has been reinstalled and my files were retrieved and stored in a backup harddrive. I also lost itunes and have reinstalled it but I have no music in my library and can't find my complete library in my retrieved files. I need to find out how to restore my itunes library from my ipod as well. I don't want to lose all my music on the ipod if I sync with itunes that has an empty library.

Exporting video from one machine and then importing into another not working...

Here is my situation:
I wanted to import some videoes into iMovie on my Mac (OSX Lion) that my wife shot on her iPhone 4S (ios 5.x). I first synched her photos and video with iTunes/iPhoto on her machine (OSX Snow Leopard), then exported them from iPhoto onto a thumb drive. Then I imported them into iPhoto on my machine.
The pics are fine. But the videos are not playing. iPhoto sees they are videos, but each one is like a still: there is no duration to the video when you hit the play arrow. They also will not play by clicking on them directly in a Finder window from the thumb drive. The are showing up (for example) as IMG_0133.mov, with the proper "Quicktime movie" in the "Kind" column, but each one is 1 to 1.5 MB or less, so something is up.
Anyone know what has happened? Perhaps they don't export correctly?

Yes, I do, and I will do that when I re-do the process tonight.
Do I need to (or is it advisable) to export the .mov files separately?
I admit I was in a hurry and never having done this before, I did not look closely at the options.

When waking from sleep can't log back into Airport (TC)

Hi all,
I've been noticing one morning I kept on having to re-join my airport network afer waking my MBPro from sleep. Usually it finds it automatically, but as of late, I manually have to get back in.
Anything happened? Anything I should be doing or didn't do? Besides, it's that time of the month again and I'm currently calibrating my battery, so I'm not connected to juice. Any ideas?

Instead of setting a password for waking from sleep, just enable fast user switching (System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Options). Then, from the new menu on the right side of the bar (next to the Spotlight menu), choose Login Window before putting your machine to sleep. Yes, I know that this requires that you remember instead of kicking in automatically, but it's better than suffering from this problem.

How do I extract the list from a pop up menu back into Numbers?

I made a few very large lists in pop-up menus in Numbers, and I would like to extract those lists and put them
in a seperate Numbers file.
Is there a way that I can take the lists I made and sort of copy paste them /export them / extract them, so I don't
have to manually copy them?

Hi Derk,
Numbers doesn't seem to allow access to the values within a Pop-Up Menu, either through the native interface or through AppleScript.
However, if you are using Numbers 3.2 and you have a long column formatted as Pop-Up Menu where you have "used" each the choices in the menu somewhere in the column, then you can collect a list of those values with the script below.
Copy the script into AppleScript Editor.
Select the cells in the body of your column formatted as Pop-Up Menu.
Click the green triangle 'run' button.
Click once in a destination cell in any Numbers document.
Command-v or Edit > Paste & Match Style to paste the list of values.

I am having a problem with email, when I delete messages from my Ipad, they come back into trash whether they are on my PC or not. The only way I can delete them is to to my providers site and delete everything there.

I am having a problem with email. I can receive and send, but when I delete, the deleted messages return into either Trash or Bin or both whether or not I have deleted them from my PC.
The only way I can get rid of them permanently, is to go into my area of my providers site(Sky) and empty all of the boxes there. I imagine it's a setting, please advise.
