"From" presence not displaying in Outlook 2013

When running the Lync 2013 client, the presence indicator of the "From" or sender does not display in Outlook 2013.  The cc, bcc & to fields all display presence properly.
When I close the Lync 2013 client and the launch the Lync 2010 client, the sender's or "From" presence displays properly.
We are currently running Lync 2010 servers in our environment.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this issue?

I have certainly come across this behaviour with outlook 2013 against Exchange 2007.
How to repro the Issue?
Open an email in Outlook 2013 connected to Exchange
2007 in cached Mode. Sender of the email has empty personcard.
With Outlook 2013, users are not able to see GAL data for the
sender of emails,
Work around seem to be Using online mode instead of cached mode.
There is a outlook fix planned for this issue however unsure on the Release schedule
Hi Prasanth.  It's now the end of May.  Outlook 2013 went RTM about six months ago and GA about four months ago and this issue is still not fixed.  Are Microsoft still working on a fix or have they given up on it and turned their back on their
users ?
I just installed Office 2013 + all MS updates and am very disappointed as Outlook 2013 is functionally inferior to 2010 because of this for us.  I work for a large organisation and this would hold back Office 2013 rollout.

  • "From" presence not displaying in Outlook 2010

I've been working on a software product aiming presence and im integration with Microsoft Outlook using IMessenger API.
Integration works as expected with Outlook 2013. However, the presence indicator of the
"from" or sender does not display in Outlook 2010. The to, cc and bcc fields all display presence properly. In Outlook 2013 however, all of the from, to, cc and bcc fields display presence.
There is a similar discussion for Outlook 2013 on:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/a2500fec-fc3f-4295-bbe3-7620876a2d24/from-presence-not-displaying-in-outlook-2013
My problem is similar to this one except that I've the same problem with Outlook 2010 and I don't have this problem with Outlook 2013. It may be resolved in Outlook 2013 with a hotfix I don't know. Does anybody have the same issue and have a fix or workaround
for this situation? I have latest updates for Office 2010 already.
A strange thing is that when I set the registry value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\IM\TurnOffPresenceIcon to 1, presence indicators are disappear from contact names as expected, however when I hover over the sender it
displays sender's presence correctly on tooltip. So integration seems ok when I look at this.
when I set the registry value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\IM\TurnOffPresenceIcon to 2, presence indicators are disappear from both contact names and tool tips as expected.
when I set the registry value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\IM\TurnOffPresenceIcon to 0, presence indicators are appear for contacts in to, cc, and bcc fields except "from" field, which is quite strange. After
I move around between messages, some of the sender's presence indicators starts displaying.
Does anybody know why the presence indicator is not displaying consistently for the "sender" contact in Outlook 2010 when TurnOffPresenceIcon has value 0? Does anybody have the same issue and have a fix or workaround for this situation?

    Hi,
There is another registry value named TurnOffPresenceIntegration
which also have an effect on the presence indicator, please find the
    Key in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\IM
    or Policy Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Policies\microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\IM
and then check if the key value is set to 0.

  • Presence not appearing in Outlook 2013

I have a user who is running Lync 2013 and Outlook 2013 (lync 2010 server/exchange 2010). The presence for other individuals shows correctly in Lync, however they all appear as white boxes in Outlook. We have tried everything from Repair, new profile, editing
some registry lines and made sure that the "Display online status next to name" option is selected. Nothing seems to work. We can attempt a complete reinstall of Office, but I'd like to look for other options before we take that route.
As a side note, we've had this happen in the past, and running Outlook with the /cleanfreebusy switch resolved it. For some reason, MSoft has decided to retire that switch in Outlook 2013.

    Hi,
Please first make sure the user's Lync 2013 has installed latest update.
Which registry key did you check? The registry key related to presence is:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers]
    "DefaultIMApp"="Lync"
    and
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers\Lync]
    "ProcessId"=dword:00002458
    "UpAndRunning"=dword:00000002
    For more information, please refer:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rathomas/archive/2012/12/04/outlook-2013-users-are-unable-to-see-the-presence-info-in-outlook.aspx
In addition, if the domain name in the Email and IM address fields were
different than the SIP address for this contact in the Lync address book, this issue may occur. You can refer to the following blog and look at the 'Out-of-Date Outlook Contacts' section:
    http://blog.insidelync.com/2013/09/lync-2013-presence-issues/
If the problem is as described in the blog, please try to correct the email and IM address in the Outlook contact and sign out and back in to the Lync 2013 client to resolve the problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Messages not displaying in Outlook 2013

I recently purchased a new computer and installed my Office 2013 software on it. Outlook does not display any message at all in the Inbox. All subfolders display correctly and they appear in the Inbox when I use OWA.  Creating a new Outlook profile
did not help. A profile under another account which has delegate rights to mine displays their inbox but not mine. Also, new message will show up in the Unread mail section in my favorites which is the only way to see new messages. After reading them, the
only way to see them again is through OWA. The Outlook profile is not cached.

    Hi,
I'm marking the reply as answer as there has been no update for a couple of days.

  • Jabber 9.2.2 Presence is not displaying in Outlook 2013

I can see that there is a line for the status but it is simply blank (white) regardless of the user's status.
This includes the picture as well as the box/circle next to the users name within the emails To/From/CC/BCC/etc sections.

I've added the SIP address per the instructions on the Cisco Jabber for Windows 9.2.x Installation and Configuration Guide (Page 48, Enable Presence with the Active Directory User and Computers Tool) to my account but I am hesitant to add for the entire Org at his time via the ADSchemaWizard.exe utility available in the Cisco Jabber for Windows administration package.
Will we have to manually add, or run the ADSchemaWizard.exe utility, to update new users in the future to provide this fuctionality? I'm at a loss as to why this would be required for a cloud based system when running Cisco WebEx Connect on later versions of Outlook (WECv7.2.2) worked without issue or this "new" requirement. Any further explaination would be greatly appreciated.
I will check with this change tomorrow following our GAL replication to see if two users are able to see their varying Presense updated with this fix action, as currently they are still showing a blank status. Thanks.

  • Contacts from 2010 not showing info in 2013

I recently upgraded from 2010 to 2013.  When the contacts moved over i cannot find all of the information like anniversary date that was in the details tab of 2010.  Is there an icon or setting that i am missing to see all of this previous information?

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, Contacts from 2010 not showing info in 2013, then please follow these steps: -
After switch from Outlook 2010 to 2013, simply press
CTRL+3 to see an overview of all your Contacts folders. If the folder is there and holds your contacts, then either the folder has not been set as an
Outlook Address Book or Outlook Address Book Service is broken in your mail profile.
If the contacts are not in the contact folder, then you either forgot to select the folder when creating an export, or didn’t select the folder when importing the
PST-File. You can take a fresh copy of your backup or the pst-file that you imported from.
Then connect to the pst-file in Outlook via:
File > Open > Open Outlook Data File
Now, check the contacts folder again. If you did not find your Contacts in that pst-file, you can select them all
(CTRL+A) and move them (CTRL+SHIFT+V) or copy them
(CTRL+SHIFT+Y) to your main contact folder.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • AD RMS 2012 Templates/Permissions [Option] is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device

I have AD RMS 2012 Server, its working fine by applying restricted Templates/Permissions on OWA, Outlook & other MS Office Tools (Word Excel, PowerPoint). But the AD RMS Templates/Permissions [Option] is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows
    8 Mobile Device.
Actually I would like to protect email with RMS templates (defined by me on AD RMS 2012 Server) but the [Permission] tab is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device.
But I can do same with Android OS in Samsung Galaxy Mobile Device & I can see [Permission] tab as well to protect an email messages.
    Any idea??
    Regards,
    M.Daud Soomro

Currently, you can't use WP 8 to protect docs/emails with ADRMS templates. YOu can however use transport rules on Exchange server side to configure automatic ADRMS protection.

  • Iphone calendar does not sync with OUTLOOK 2013

iphone 4 calendar does not sync with OUTLOOK 2013 calendar. Can anyone help?  Iphone [Apple] will not provide support

Why won't Apple provide support? Do you mean free support if your iPhone is no longer under warranty if the AppleCare extended warranty was purchased for your iPhone, or if the initial 90 days of free telephone support after the purchase date has expired? If you no longer have free telephone support, free support is provided at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

  • Meetings created on Q10 do not sync to Outlook 2013 calendar

Am using a Shaw email account on Outlook 2013. Just got the Q10 and cannot seem to sync. It syncs from Outlook to the phone but not from the phone to Outlook.
    BB Link ver 1.2.0.28
    Office Professional 2013
BB Link does not throw and error messages and shows up as successful sync.
Is it possible that the phone is not able to write to the Outlook pst file. But I would have imagined that it would throw an error message is what is confusing me.
Has anyone else had this issue or something similar?
There is an update for the phone but I did not apply it. I didn't want to mess it up further.
The user was using a BB torch before and we moved him to the q10. He was having somewhat of a similar issue just that he would get meeting reminders but Outlook would not display them in the calendar. Now the q10 will not even send any of the calendar appointments to Outlook.
Thanks for the help. If anyone can offer any suggestions

    LarryMcJ -
I read your first post and checked all the items you pointed out. I was already set up in the way you described but alas my problem remained. I appreciated the suggestions and checked them carefully but it had no effect on my problem.
I found it interesting that I could change an item on the BB (no matter where it was created) and the change would propagate over to iCal but a new item created on the BB would not come over. I also tried using the click box to overwrite the BB from iCal but items created on my BB were completely unaffected by the sync.
I had no calendars tied to the BB email addy. I did find that my calendars were somehow linked to various (random?) email addresses (I use 5). Things have started working better since I changed all the calendars to tie to one email addy. I was able to get Google sync to work without a hitch after about an hour of playing with it and there have been no problems since. Maybe RIM should try to hire some Google developers away ;-)
Anyway -  the headache and frustration were just not worth it. There may be a way to get my setup to work with DTM but, honestly, I don't have the time, patience or the hair left to pull out. I am no longer trying to find a solution - I have moved on.

  • Active Sync - No data displayed in Outlook 2013

    Hello,
We are currently developing Active Sync support for SOGo (www.sogo.nu). Everything works well with Android and iOS based devices but Outlook 2013 doesn't work.
The FolderSync command works well, but the initial Sync request seems to be ignored by Outlook, as it keeps sending it over and over. Here is the initial FolderSync response:

As you can see, there are 2 mails, 1 event and 1 contact.
Can anyone tell me what could be wrong in our response which could lead Outlook 2013 to reject it?
    Thanks,

I enabled logging in Outlook 2010 and here is a the failure trying to synchronize one single mail:

  • Jabber 9.0.4 Presence not displaying correctly in SharePoint 2010

Quick info, we run Lotus Notes 8.5.3, Jabber 9.0.4 and SharePoint 2010.
When we install Jabber 9.0.4 on a client, the presence doesn't display correctly on our SharePoint site. We can see the correct presence pulled from Jabber in Office (in the "author" field in the Info tab under File on any document) and if you hover over the presence icon that doesn't display correctly in SharePoint, the contact card DOES show the correct presence (weird!)
    [see "blank contact card.png"]
It is only when we install the full Outlook 2010 client that it displays the presence properly:
    [see "with outlook.png"]
This doesn't make sense... What does Outlook install that is "special" in order for this presence bubble to work, whilst every thing else works regardless? It's nothing to do with adding a SIP entry or the name.dll is missing. It calls the NAMECONTROLSERVER.EXE process everytime, but it depends whether Outlook is there in order to pull back the presence status.
It must be said though that this is an improvement over CUPC 8 which didn't work at all! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

"Your Cisco Guest Login is not entitled to use Bug Toolkit." ...apparently.
Since it's a known issue (I'm presuming since I can't see this) is there an impending fix in a future release?

  • Online Archives for Outlook 2013 do not appear in Outlook 2013 running on Terminal Server

    Hello,
We are currently attempting to get our users away from using PST files and instead use the Personal Online Archive feature but have come across a problem
    Environment
Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Server)
    Office 2013
    Citrix 6.5 XenApp
So on the Exchange side I went through the steps of setting up my PST use as a guinea pig for testing.  I was able to setup the Archive database, enable archiving on my mailbox, and import my PST into the Archive database.
I then opened Outlook 2013 on my stand-alone PC and there was my Online Archive. Great!
I then double checked and also saw it on the OWA site on the Exchange server.  Super!
I finally logged into our RDS (Terminal) server and opened Outlook 2013 there.  But the Online archive was not there.  Hmmm..
I did some researching and this article about Outlook 2010 suggested it was a permission issue:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/1e8d5d4b-e26b-4be6-b646-eb6e796c6295/exchange-2010-mail-archive-missing-in-outlook-2010-shows-in-owa?forum=outlook
So I ran through those steps in Powershell but no change.
I also don't think it's a licensing issue because the license I have on my stand-alone PC is the same volume license keys (MAK) as on my Terminal Server.
Soo... I'm a bit stuck and was hoping for some help.  I can't proceed with migrating other PST files to the online archive until I get this resolved.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    In theory,
    Outlook reads the
msExchDelegateLink attribute of the user in AD to display the additional mailbox (Online Archive folder).
Since the standalone client can display the archive mailbox properly, it seems this attribute is available in AD. I suspect the issue locates on the way that the terminal
clients access the server. I suggest we check whether the client has properly permission to connect to AD when accessing remotely.
    Thanks,

  • MAPI over HTTP not working correctly, Outlook 2013 clients prompting for credentials during profile creation or opening depending on security of virtual directory

    ENVIRONMENT
-1 Exchange 2013 SP1 CU7 server with all roles that is also a hybrid server with Office 365 tenant, mailboxes are all on premise only LYNC online is being utilized right now.
    -Exchange 2013 public folders
-Mix of Outlook 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2010 SP3 clients all fully update to day as of Feb 2015
Outlook anywhere is working perfectly across all clients both internally and externally using autodiscover.  Both Outlook 2013 and 2010 clients can open the program and create a profile automatically via autodiscover and no additional logon prompts
    are seen.
We set the internal and external mapi virtual directory URLs to a valid URL that also matches the Exchange 2013 SSL certificate.  We set the security to ntlm, negotiate on the mapi virtual directory.  We reset IIS and enabled mapi over http in
the org config.  We run in to problems here.
Outlook 2010 clients appear to be working fine.  We can create a new profile and open and close Outlook without any logon prompts and verify that MAPIHTTP and Negotiate are used to connect to Exchange.
Outlook 2013 clients are having problems.  As soon as we try to create a profile it says your administrator has made a change that requires you to restart outlook and then a windows logon prompt appears. If we authenticate Outlook will open and connect.
This logon prompt should not occur.    We can confirm that it is connecting via MAPI HTTP and Negotiate.
If we set the mapi virtual directory to NTLM only then a logon prompt also appears during every open of Outlook 2013.  We can confirm that it is trying to connect with MAPIHTTP via NTLM in the outlook connection test screen.
I do not understand this behavior by Outlook 2013 which was supposed to be designed with MAPI HTTP in mind.  I would think the same issues would occur with Outlook 2010 but they do not.  I am not sure how to resolve this and I am looking for help.

I have the same problem. Exchange and Outlook are both up to date. After creating a new profile Outlook prompts for username/password. A lot of users also get this prompt while
working - the profiles have been "migrated" from Exchange server 2010. <o:p></o:p>
Niko, as i can see in your screenshot you do not have Mapi over HTTP enabled. Why? You can change settings in the security tab – if you have Mapi over
HTTP enabled all options are grayed out (please correct me if I
    am wrong):
This is a very annoying thing – does anybody else have the same problem?
    Any suggestions on this?

  • Windows Search not working for Outlook 2013

    Hello,
I am running Outlook 2013 under Windows7 Pro. The search within Outlook works perfect, but I am used to also get Outlook results from the Windows Search under the "Start" menu: Office documents are beeing displayed but no Outlook Mails as it used
    to be under Outlook 2010.
    Can someone help ?

This is by design. We can find the deprecated features here -

  • Send file as email not working when Outlook 2013 is default mail client

Have Adobe Reader XI 11.0.2 installed.  Running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with Office 2013 installed.  When I set Default E-mail Application to Microsoft Outlook from Preferences I receive the following error trying to send any file as an e-mail:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.  Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
I have toggled Microsoft Outlook 2013 off and back on as the default e-mail handler in the Default Programs of the Control Panel, but this has not resolved the issue.
I am guessing this may be a new bug since Outlook 2013 only recently came out, but if not, and someone has a fix, please let me know.
    Thank you,
    - Brian

Please try the steps mentioned at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813745 and check whether the issue is resolved or not.
If not, then try starting the outlook in safe mode using (Outlook.exe /safe) and check the issue again.
Hopefully, these will resolve your issue.
