From problem

Dear all,
i have a table
item_detail( box_id, item, item_name)
box_id is foreign key i want to build a form like master detail form using only this one table.
i build a form with multiple records and place the box_id in the top with display number of items displayed=1 it works good but when i insert multiple records the focus goto box_id again.
how to restrict the focus to not goto the box_id and went to next record?
and box_id text item copy the values which are entered previouslly.
thanks and regards

Hello,
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...

  • Beige G3 boot from **** problem; open firmware issues; bad motherboard?

    Dear all,
I'm having huge boot/startup problems with my beige G3 that had been happily running OSX 10.3.9, but for purposes of this discussion we can (mostly) revert to OS 9. Originally, the machine was a G3 @300; was upgraded more than a year ago to a ZIF G4 @500.
To make a long story short, it won't boot from any hard drives, will not boot from any OS X CD, and will only occasionally boot from a 9.x startup CD (whether Apple or Norton Utilities). I think it's an open firmware issue, possibly caused by a bad motherboard (rev. 2).
All this started happening after I used techtool pro, but I think that's coincidence (even though I acknowledge that, for cops and computer users, there are no coincidences.) Also, as discussed below, I'm having the same problems with an HD that wasn't even in the computer when all these things began.
Here are some of the things I've done.
--repeatedly reset PRAM, both with key combinations and removing battery. The only time it will boot from a 9.x CD is after resetting PRAM.
    --removed all add-on PCI cards.
    --removed additional VRAM
--removed all memory cards and tried replacing one at a time.
--disconnected both existing hard drives and replaced with an older OS 9.x hard drive (approx 60 mb) that I'd used before. Also tried different ribbon cables.
    --unplugged floppy drive
--disconnected PCI ATA disk controller that I'd been using for running a large (1.8 gb) hard drive.
--regarding open firmware: readenv usually shows totally normal default AND installed settings. Using reset-all works fine -- at least it makes the machine reboot, but doesn't solve the problem. reset-nvram does NOT work -- says it's an "unknown word."
--using startup keys like holding down the option key, or shift key, or X key or cmd-option plus two others I can't remember, has no effect. Again, after I've tried any kind of reboot, the ONLY way to get the C-key at startup to boot the CD is by resetting the pram (key combination). Otherwise, the usual result of these experiments is a dark screen on startup -- nothing at all (and the LCD monitor tells me "no input.")
--regarding OSX: sometimes (and I emphasize sometimes) I can get the machine to start booting from an OSX 10.2 CD, but it won't complete the process. Sometimes I get a "prohibited" (as in no-parking, no-smoking) icon; sometimes it will start booting (grey screen, OS X Apple icon), then crash (horizontal grey and white jagged bars); sometimes it will show the OS 9 start icon (the tiny smiling Mac SE), but not boot at all.
--when I get the mac successfully booted with an OS 9.x CD (again, this works sometimes, but not always), the old hard drive with two partitions does show on the desktop and can be accessed. Using either disk repair or Norton Utilities shows the 9.2 system partition on the hard drive to be fine. But if I go to the startup disk control panel, confidently set the 9.2 partition as my startup disk, then reboot, there's no change. It won't boot and I'm back at square one.
--even when I do get successfully booted with 9.x, the machine will still occasionally crash for no reason -- ie when I'm moving a Window.
--the only thing I haven't done is slowed down the processor. It's a ZIF G4 bought more than a year ago from XLR8 your Mac. I'm running at the default 500 mhz, and it's never given me any trouble.
So I think it's a bad motherboard or ROM. Thoughts?
    Thanks.

The beige Mac is now operating happily again. My original tentative diagnosis remains the same (although still tentative): corrupted PRAM from bad battery, compounded by bad cables that wrote corrupted data to hard drives, and also (possibly) allowing Tech Tool Pro (a utility that I now regard with deep suspicion) to create a "virtual" startup partition.
A few things I've learned along the way that hopefully may be useful:
--remember that the Ex Post Facto utility can be used to help OS X startup, not just installation. This applies to hard drives, emergency CDs, installation CDs, etc. If you can boot into any working hard drive partition (OS 9 or a backup OS 10), then run Ex Post Facto (same program runs on either OS 9 or X -- don't ask me how) and tell it what system you want to start up from. Also, the utility has sometimes told me that the startup extensions on the disc that I wanted to boot up from were bad, and offered to fix them (which works).
--at least on my Mac (beige, v. 2 motherboard), resetting the CUDA button, resetting the PRAM, resetting Open Firmware and "draining" the memory by unplugging the computer and disconnecting the battery for several hours ALL DO DIFFERENT THINGS.
Specifically, if I'm having trouble booting (from a hard drive or a CD), the FIRST thing I do is restart and resetting the PRAM on the fly -- holding down command, option, P and R at startup, and waiting for the chimes (preferably at least 3-4 times).
If I do that and DON'T hear the chimes, that's my cue for my SECOND action -- restarting into open firmware (command, option O and F keys on startup). That should bring up the black text on white background open firmware screen. View other posts or apple support for details, but if you do PRINTENV and see a bunch of weird gibberish after the default/installed lists, you know that it was messed up and you need to clear it through reset nvram and reset all commands. Be aware some of these commands do or do not work depending upon what version of Open Firmware you have.
After I've rebooted with Open Firmware, then on restart I should be able to reset the PRAM on the fly. If that works, then either let the machine run and see what happens, or hold down the C command and see if it will boot from the CD
Usually, if I've fixed everything as above, the machine will boot into whatever version of OS 9 it finds on a hard drive. That's fine with me -- at that point, use Ex Post Facto to reboot into your OS X. (Before I forget: I used the shareware startup CD creator program BootCD to make an emergency boot CD based on OS 10.2.8 (which theoretically will support a beige mac in native fashion) and Disk Warrior, the god of disk repair utilities. Even though the CD should boot just by holding down the C key on startup, it doesn't -- but if I use Ex Post Facto to boot it, no problems (although the process is very slow -- be patient). Then I can fix almost anything using Disk Warrior.)
If none of the above works, then I'll try resetting the CUDA (on my beige minitower, it's a very small black button inconveniently located between a PCI slot and the side of the computer housing). Hold it down for 15 seconds. That should REALLY clear the PRAM. I know this does something different from the previous steps because this is the only action (except the battery disconnect -- next) that clears the date and time from the memory.
If all else fails, I will unplug the computer and disconnect the battery, then push the CUDA button for 15 seconds and let the machine sit overnight.
One final finding -- I thought I'd fixed everything, but both my hard drives suddenly quit working, I discovered that during all this repeated connect/disconnect of things, one of the male pins inside one of the connectors on my Acard ATA PCI card had broken off. Not good. Fortunately, the card had a second connector, which works fine. And I did some extensive shaking of the computer to make sure (I hope) that the broken pin hadn't landed on a circuit board.
All this took more than two weeks, and the advice of this board was much appreciated. Now I'm on to my next adventure -- trying to figure out why a combo Firewire/USB PCI card won't mount an external drive on Firewire, but will on USB. I've tried two cards with same result -- but a Firewire-only card works just fine.)
    Regards to all,
    Graham

  • Oracle External Table SELECT FROM problem from workstation

At Solaris Oracle database server console.
Created directory on the Solaris server as Oracle owner.
As SYS created oracle directory object on that Solaris directory
Granted read/write to SCHEMA_OWNER on that oracle directory object.
Using OS Oracle user, moved a tab-delimited flat file into the Solaris directory.
Logged on a SCHEMA_OWNER using SQLPLUS on the Solaris database server.
Ran external table script in SQLPLUS.
    External table was created.
    Ran Select * from ext_table.
    Appropriate dataset returned.
So at the Oracle Solaris server console,
the create external table script worked without errors,
and a select from statement on the external table worked without errors.
    Move to developer workstation:
Logged on as SCHEMA_OWNER using SQLPLUS on Windows workstation.
TNSNAMES of course points to the Solaris database server.
Ran the external table script in SQLPLUS.
    External table was created.
    Ran Select * from ext_table.
    This failed with these errors:
    ORA29913 error executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout
    ORA29400 data cartridge error
    cant open logfile.log
    OS permission denied
    ORA06512 sys.oracle_loader line 19
So how can I select from external tables from a windows workstation?
Any guidance on this problem would be appreciated.

    Thank you for your response.
I am not creating the external table on the workstation.
    In both cases,
    from the Solaris console
    and from the Windows workstation
the external table is being created on the Solaris file system
    in an Oracle Directory object
running an SQL script from SQLPLUS prompt.
The external table creator, schema owner, has read and write permissions
granted by SYS on the oracle directory object.
    The problem is:
Logged in as the schema owner,
you can select * from ext_table from the Solaris console SQLPLUS,
but you can not select * from ext_table from the Windows workstation SQLPLUS.
You can DROP TABLE ext_table from the Windows workstation SQLPLUS.
You just cannot select * from ext_table from the Windows workstation SQLPLUS.
    I guess as a test,
I can drop from the ext_table creation script the references
    to discardfile, badfile, and logfile,
and remove this other file objects from the equation...
which appears to be a file permissions problem.

  • Tabular from problems while migrated from APEX 3.0 to 4.0.2

We are planning to upgrade our existing applications from 3.0 to 4.0, but I have noticed a few things about the tabular forms.
    1. The wizard generated tabular form with checkboxes (and "select all" checkbox in the heading) functionality stopped working. The form has a link to the details page as a first column, and updateable column and checkboxes as the last two columns of the form. After the upgrade to 4.0 the "select all" checkbox is moved as a first heading while the checkboxes are still being the last column of the form and the form stopped working... unless you move the checkboxes as the first column in the form. It makes the form looking a little bit awkward (checkboxes, then the image link to the details page, then other columns and the updateable column at the end) and also inconvenient to jump from the left to the right for each record...
    2. The tabular for still displays the headings and the export to csv link even when no data found... in 3.0 none of these happens.
Does anyone have any solution/work around for these?
    Thank you.
    Zhanna.

    Finally finally found the problem.
The login page 101 was using a page template called "login". This template's Footer had a #FORM_CLOSE# text substitution tag that was commented out. As soon as I uncommented the tag out it worked.
Obviously this tag wasn't so critical in pre 4.1 and 4.2 hence why the problem wasn't previously exposed.
This is what the #FORM_CLOSE# tag causes to be generated within the HTML. I'm guessing that the page submit handler is looking for the hidden MD5 checksum item in order to prevent page manipulation of sorts. Because it can't find the tag it's throwing the error message.
    <input type="hidden"
           name="p_md5_checksum"
           value=""  />
    <input type="hidden"
           name="p_page_checksum"
           value="B1CDAA06FE82920960DC892FC092C827"
           id="pPageChecksum" />
    </form>
NOTE: The original template did not have a closing </form> html tag, so not sure how it ever worked in apex 4.0 or prior. It's certainly not visible looking at the HTML. Perhaps Apex 4.0 is less sensitive about that.

    I have 10.4.11 power Pc
Lately I have noticed that some of my incoming mail is not matching who it is from. When I click to open it, it is not the the mail as addressed. It is picking up an older mail from a different person and not showing me the correct mail. Not all incoming mail is doing this, most are correct.
I check it on the iphone and it is correct there. What is going on with my Mac?

  • Recovering data from problem hard drive?

I have a TiBook 667MHz with what appears to be a hard drive problem. It starts to boot up fine, but at a certain point in the process it hangs for a while and then shuts itself off. Apparently the hard drive made an unusual clicking noise when the problem first manifested (I wasn't there).
Listening to the drive during the boot process, I hear normal noises for a while and then reach a point where the same rhythmic sequence is repeated over and over again. Sometimes it continues after a few rounds of that, and sometimes it shuts itself off.
If I boot it in target disk mode and connect it to a MacBook, the drive doesn't mount. I can see the disk in Disk Utility, but can't mount it there either. If I run a repair it says "Invalid Volume Header," then spends a few minutes in the "Checking Catalog file" step before failing with an error about a task failing to end.
If I start it in verbose mode, I see it stop at a message, "Invalid Volume Header," which is consistent with what Disk Utility says before it dies.
Obviously it'd be great to fix the machine entirely. However, the main goal at this point is to get critical, non-backed-up data off of it. Any idea what's going on? Is there a utility that might help fix or identify this issue? And barring that, should I take it to an Apple Store and hope they can recover the data?

So I'm not really sure what an "Invalid Volume Header" indicates, including whether it's a software or a hardware issue.
It's a software issue dealing with directory info, but could be caused by faulty hardware.
Is this something TechTool or DiskWarrior is likely to fix?
There's no telling until you try it. DW has a good description of things it can/cannot do, so I'd do some reading on their website.
I'm not completetly averse to picking up one of them in case of disk emergencies (TechTool's probably preferable, all things equal, since DiskWarrior shows no signs of going Universal) but I don't want to waste money if it's unlikely to work and I should just take it into a data recovery shop.
Even if it didn't fix this issue, I wouldn't call it a waste of money; very handy to have around when you need it, and you can never tell when that might be.
If I do need to take it in, any recommendations in the Cambridge/Boston area?
No, but there will be listings in the yellow pages and by googling. I would try to find a place that will look at the HD, tell you if they can do anything with it, and give you a cost estimate before you have to pay them anything. I think when you see the cost of the service, you'll probably want to try another utility (or two or three) before going the professional service route. Good luck.

there is no iten num filed in my target field?
ple let me know ur idea.

    Hi,
The problem is in your ODS/DSO.
In your ODS you have 'Doc_num' as key field.
For both Items 1 & 2, you have same key field ( Doc_Num) Value.
So, the first record will be over written by the second one. So from your ODS you will get only the latest record to the Cube.
If you want to send both doc_nums to cube, you need to bring doc_num to the data fields area of ODS.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers
    Praveen

  • Upgrade to 11g from 10.1.2.3 - Problems or bugs known?

    Hi,
    we use OC4J 10g (10.1.2.3) with TopLink 9.0.4.8 and DB 10.2.0.1.
Are there any known problems if upgrading the database to version 11g?
I've heard from problems with timezone or time field while upgrading from 9i to 10g.
Where can I get informations concerning this upgrade?

  • Report problem directly in iTunes has been disabled?

I had understood that it was possible to report a problem on a purchase directly from within iTunes, by going to my account, history then selcting the ourchase that had the problem.
However the "Report a Problem"link now just boots me off to the Apple website, the previous button to describe the problem and submit no longer appears.
Does anyone know if this has been disabled?
I am having season pass problems on an iPad and it seems there is no solution - Apple - it just doesn't work anymore
    Worminger2

Interestingly clicking on Report a problem in iTunes sends me off to a web page with the URL:
    but this immediately redirects to:
which is actually just the opening page of the iTunes support page in the apple webpages, ie totally useless.
I am guessing they are overwhelmed by reported problems and are just opting out of having to deal with them. Reminds me of the dear old days of Microsoft hiding from problems.

  • Problem with iMac quality

I  own a 27" iMac that is just less than 4 years old, and where after sending it for repair with Apple in Denmark was told that it needed a new graphics card for DKK 2899 - approx. USD 490.00.
I found out that the iMac is produced at a factory in Shanghai called W8 where Apple have had problems with exact same issue in the past, and it seems had agreed to extended warranty replacement to fix these problems.
Nevertheless I do  believe that Apple customers buy Apple products because we expect superior quality and no Apple customer would expect to have problems with a major component especially on such an expensive products and certainly not within 4 years.
And if there were a seldom problem with a unit that Apple would rather step up to the plate and stand behind their products quality.
In my case it seems Apple - or at least Apple in Denmark - is unwilling to do so even though they acknowledge that it very seldom happen

Do you have a support system in Denmark to protect customers from problems with products and services.  If so advance your complaint there.  Irrespective of the warranty, here in the UK you can get official help against any supplier of goods that are faulty up to six years from purchase.  But you must be reasonable in your approach.  Apple's warranty promise specifically allows for this  when it says ...
Coverage is estimated. Learn about Apple’s coverage information for your product. Your warranty is the same whether or not you register.
Important: Apple’s 1-year limited warranty and AppleCare Protection Plan benefits are in addition to rights provided by consumer law (see details). If you believe you have a valid consumer law claim, please contact us.

After wake up from sleep (eg. at the morning, when I'm starting to work) my MacBook Pro Retina is often restarted at the login screen and after logged in, appears window "Your computer restarted because of a problem". It happens about 3-4 times per week and its really anoying.
    specs:
    - MacBook Pro Retina 15", Late 2013
    - cpu 2,3Ghz i7
    - ram 16GB
    - gf 750m nvidia 2gb
    - ssd 500GB
    - Mac OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
I thought it was because of nonstop running Parallels (with Win7), but its not (I closed it before sleep). Except Safari, I have allways running following 3rd party apps: Chrome, Thunderbird, Sublime text 2, Transmit, Tweetbot, MS Excel, MS Word, Droplr, Roboform, Viber, Dropbox and Razer Synapse mouse software.
I tried safe mode and disk tool to check and repair drive. Still restarting after wake up from sleep freqently.

The panic was apparently caused by "NETGEAR USB Control Center," maybe with help from one or more of the other third-party system modifications you've installed. I suggest you back up all data and then remove the software according to the developer's instructions. Restart and see whether there's an improvement. If there isn't, post your results.

  • AutoFS + Samba share problems when share not online (especially in itunes)

I'm trying to look into having some or all of my media on a server for a couple of my macs, the main one of interest right now being a mac mini working as a HTPC under a tv, being operated 99% of the time with just the apple remote and frontrow.
A friend informed me that if you have your itunes library not managed and add files from a remote share then everything works pretty well. Namely if you try to play a file it will seemingly automount the remote file and start it playing. If the remote server is not available it will quickly discover this and after a short pause start giving explanation marks next to the broken tracks. Get the remote destination connected and then try to play a broken track and it will successfully mount the track and play.
    Basically perfect.
I quickly tried accessing these files via a symbolic link or alias to them on the remote drive, in doing this i can be somewhat insulated from problems of trying to move the library to other machines/shares in the future. This all works fine but you do lose the ability for itunes to automatically mount the remote drive, which is a bit of a step back, but not a big deal on my normal machine. On my HTPC machine however i'd really like front row to be able to just work, hence automatically mounting the server as required.
The only problem was that when i tried with files directly added to the itunes library from a remote location frontrow would NOT automount the tracks/videos when you attempted to play them like itunes would do.
I've just spent the last few hours following the advice here
    http://rajeev.name/blog/2007/11/22/autofs-goodness-in-apples-leopard-105-part-i/
to setup autofs in the hope that this would let me get auto mounting working as it does with itunes and directly added to the library remote files.
I boiled this down to the following settings
    as root
    vi /etc/auto_master
    and add
    /smb auto_smb
then create this new config file
    vi /etc/auto_smb
    and add
    <Mount dir under /smb folder> -fstype=smbfs ://<share user>:<share pass>@<ip address>/<share point>
    ie.
    testMount -fstype=smbfs ://netuser:[email protected]/remoteMount
finally tell automount to throw away its cache
    automount -vc
then the mount should be setup
    df -h
    shows the indirect map waiting
    map auto_smb 0Bi 0Bi 0Bi 100% /smb
    and by triggering it
    ls /smb/testMount
you should connect and get a listing, a subsequent df shows
    df -h
    //[email protected]/Media 466Gi 325Gi 141Gi 70% /smb/Media
Everything worked well with the share getting mounted nicely when present, frontrow could just start playing the files it needed, perfect!!
The problem came when i wanted to simulate the media server being offline, basically frontrow, a lot of the system including finder, cd commands attempting to access the share, and itunes if you tried that would all freeze for long periods of time as they tried their best to get the files they were looking for.
I tried looking into getting this to gracefully time out and think i got somewhere by trying to setup the samba share to be soft linked.. I wasn't sure in what files i could add this to, first attempts didn't seem to do anything but adding this seemed to make a difference
    /etc/nsmb.conf
    containing something like
    #Configuration file for example.com
    [default]
    minauth=ntlmv2
    streams=yes
    soft=yes
to turn soft samba shares on. Things like cd in a terminal seemed to behave quite well with this, when no remote share present you would get empty folders and the like. Finder would also seem to be reasonable with it.
Frustratingly itunes and frontrow both still have quite massive pauses even when finder and cds in the background show that perhaps the soft links are working and failing like they should.
I'm now left wondering what i can do to fix it, and resorting to perhaps having the files added via a symbolic link, using the login items to launch the remote share every boot and then having it so that all i need to do is reboot the HTPC mac mini if the server is on for it to pick it up and let me play the files. Otherwise they'll just be unavailable and will fail gracefully without locking up itunes. The perfect solution would be to either have a crontab running, or some applescript bound somehow to whenever frontrow is ran which manually tries to tell finder to do the equivelant mount the login items setup does.
It's frustrating though as its so close, and the autofs solution if it did work better would seem to be the perfect solution. Has anyone dabbled with this and got any suggestions as to options you can setup to make things not go horribly wrong when a remote share is NOT present, preferrably within the context of itunes or front row not complaining, but to be honest any suggestions i'll be able to try out myself.
Sorry i've written so much, perhaps some of it will be helpful reference as it took me a while to decipher that link at the top into just setting up a samba autofs.
    Cheers.

It seems like it's not only the ArchLinux workstation that displays the norwegian letters wrong. The only machine that shows this correc is the machine that created the file/catalogue.
It seems like the windows 2000 displays the cataloge created by windows XP just fine.

  • When I upload to Facebook from iphoto uploader, it uploads the wrong pictures about 50% of the time.

    need some help.
    Ilife 11, Macbook Air i5

It just seems crazy to have it in both places.  Thanks so much for your help!
It Is NOT in both places, please try to grasp this, it will save you from problems later!!!
Try this, in a room with 4 windows is a vase, look through any window and you'll see it. Take the vase out through one of the windows and you will not be able to see it through any window.
You have 1 copy of the picture, no matter how many albums you look at it with.
