From PS Elements to PS Extended as default editor

When I installed Lightroom 3.3 I had Photoshop Elements installed. Lightroom detected this an configured Photoshop Elements as an external editor. I have now installed Photoshop Extended CS5 and would like to use this as the (default) editor for Lightroom (to get access to "Edit In" -> "Open as Layers in Photoshop" etc.).
How can I set up Lightroom to use Photoshop Extented instead of Photo Elements?

How do I get Elements 12 to be my default editor for pictures?

The last version of Elements that I owned was Elements 6. I designated it as the default program for .jpg files, and when I'd double-click on a photo, it would open in Elements. I've tried to do the same in 12, but when I double click on the photo, it opens Elements, but the photo isn't there. What have I done wrong?

Windows, and I figured out the problem. For anyone else who is experiencing this, you have to choose PhotoShopElementsEditor to associate with the .jpg files, not just Photo Shop Elements.

Extending the default schema from install to add few new atttributes

We use sun ldap5.2 with OAM 10.1.4.2. The LDAP schema that we currently use is from the install that was extended from the default Sun LDAP schema by Oracle. I have been asked to extend this schema to provide more attibutes like Challenge question, challenge answer and role. I'm hesistant for couple of reasons
1) I have a feeling that challenge question and challenge answers must be available already. If so, how do I use it.
2) Is it a best practice to reuse some already present attributes like say TELEX (I believe no body uses telex any more) or create new ones
3) my understanding of extending schema involves create new object classes (say customInetOrgPerson class). If I were to implement this new requirement in production environment, what happens to existing users that were created using InetOrgPerson class from the date of installation

It is considered poor practice to use an attribute for a purpose other than that which is obvious by it's name.
Therefore, the best practice is to enrich your person objects with an AUX class or to build a new structural class to include the attributes required. AUX class is your most flexible option especially if your OAM is already installed against inetorgperson.
I usually create a class like mycoChallengeResponseUser with mycoChallengePhrase and mycoChallengeResponse attributes where myco is some sensible prefix for the organization.

Bad output from Premiere Elements

I've tried every option but consistently the DVDs burned with my videos from Premiere Elements 11 are out of focus. this makes this software useless for me. I'm now using Photoshop Elements to generate slide shows and importing them into another video software to burn onto DVDs. What's wrong with this software???!!!

The problem isn't just that the resolution isn't as good as the source materials. It is totally out of focus and looks like a 3-D picture before you put on the glasses. My premiere 9 worked beautifully but version 11 is awful. I am still using the same input as I did with version 9, which is mostly photos with some video. As a matter of fact, most of it is Photoshop elements projects, which should work well with Premiere.
My project settings: editing mode -- HD 1080i (the default, I think)
video frame size 1920x1080
What other settings are you're looking for?
For the project I've just been working on, I ended up doing it in Windows movie maker, and I got fine results with much less effort.
I'm about to shop for another video editor. But I like the richness of options offered by Premiere and its link with elements, so would prefer to stick with it.

Upload problems with Facebook and Vimeo from Premiere Elements 10

I have created a project in HD and am trying to upload to Vimeo. Premiere Elements 10 does not have a preset so I followed some instructions from the Vimeo website. Project is "blurry" when viewed. I checked with Vimeo and they said what they converted matches what I sent so the problem must be in the export - bit rate may be incorrect. Can anyone give me the correct presets for Vimeo from Premiere Elements 10. I can view other people's video in HD and they look fine so I don't think it's my computer monitor. I'm sure you will need more information about my project so please give me a list of specific things you need to know. Thank you.
My Facebook problem is as follows. If I use the preset from Premiere Elements 10 to upload to Facebook it looks fine, HD quality as expected. Problem is, I would like to upload to my business page. Since the personal page and the business page (managed by my personal account) share a login, the preset always loads to my personal page. Does anyone know the values of the preset so I can upload the video to my business page. My business is event and wedding videography so I would like the posts to be as clear as possible.
If the problem with the Vimeo uploads is solved then I suppose I can just share the Vimeo file on Facebook. Thank you.

I think that you are overlooking what you already have with regard to a Vimeo HD preset for export to file for upload of the saved file at the Vimeo website.

Under the Advanced Button/Video Tab, you can customize the preset further from 1280 x 720 to 1920 x 1080 and increase the bitrate, if necessary, to a level that does not give you a prohibitive file size. With Profile = Main and Level = 3.1, the bitrate range is 0.19 to 14 Mbps (megabits per second).
I would start with the default bitrates of Target = 8 Mbps and Maximium = 9 Mbps and explore and experiment from there.
If you customize the preset to 1920 x 1080 in the Export Settings customization area, then change the Profile to High and the Level to 5.1
When you do that the bitrate range will be 0.19 to 300 Mbps instead of 0.19 to 14 Mbps.
In all cases, watch for file size versus bitrate versus quality of end product.
Please give that a look and then let us know if the above resolves your Vimeo and Facebook question.

menu path: Asset Accounting / Valuation / Determine Depreciation Areas in the Asset Class
Select there your asset under construction asset class.
Here you can fill in default values. (when you click on the fields you get more fields)
When you want to fill in other fields you can use a substitution ( Asset Accounting / Master Data / Define Substitution)
In our case, i think standard
The field description (WBS)
Req cost center (WBS)
Plant (WBS)
BA (WBS)

Paleolithic question : I went from Photoshop Elements 1 to 12 !

I went from Photoshop Elements 1 with a MacOS 9 Imac to Photoshop Elements 12 with a Macbook under Maveriks.
Some images made with Photoshop Elements 1 does not open in Photoshop Elements 12. images taken one month apart there several years may or may not open.
In "Get Info" from the Macbook, the system nevertheless recognizes these images as type "Adobe Photoshop Elements file".
But in the "More info" Macbook, those which open in Photoshop Elements 12 displayed: Dimensions: 591x886 / Space color: RGB / Alpha Channel: No / Opening: yesterday.
Those that do not open with Photoshop Elements 12 displayed nothing (only the opening time).
How to open these photos which are nevertheless in .psd format ?

Use Photoshop Elements 9 as default editor and organizer

I moved to iMac from /windows. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 on my Mac and also iPhoto. Iphoto cam preinstalled on the mac. I want to use PSE exclusively and not iPhoto. I don't want to uninstall iPhoto, just want to have PSE set as the default editor and organizer of my photos. How do I set my system to use PSE?

I'm trying to upload a 25 minute video to youtube. It says the following: "The video duration exceeds the maximum duration supported by the destination. Please reduce the duration of the video and try again."
youtube supports videos of this size now. How can I get past this? Thanks!

How do I publish a video in flash from Premiere Elements 13?

I've created a video I wish to publish on my website using flash, as I have with previous videos. However, I no longer see flash as a choice unto itself. If I choose "Flash Video for YouTube," the warning pops up that "The video duration exceeds the maximum duration supported by the destination." It's not actually for YouTube, but I don't see any obvious was to create flash output other than for YouTube.
In previous versions, flash output was an option with no (practical limit) on the output size.
Is there some option/choice I'm missing?

No flash video export and no workaround that I have ever seen for this Premiere Elements 13 situation.
Premiere Elements 13 no longer offers the Publish+Share/Computer/Adobe Flash Video as last seen in version 12/12.1. It is what it is. No workarounds
that I have seen. Even the webDVD feature has been removed from Premiere Elements 13.
Other considerations in what you wrote
a. Premiere Elements' built in feature has its file size and duration limits (for 13/13.1) 2.2 GB and 15 minutes. YouTube extended time accounts do not
work in the Premiere Elements built in feature.
b. Use of the YouTube preset "flash video for YouTube" uploads the Timeline content to YouTube where YouTube does the file conversion to flash format
for display there. Any copies of your own uploads to YouTube have been available, but as .mp4 and not FLV or F4V.
That is what I have been able to put together with regard to the questions that you presented.

You would get the redemption code, or perhaps even the serial number, from whomever you purchased the software from, apparently Amazon, so talk to them. This wouldn’t be the first time they’ve sold something that didn’t have all the numbers needed to license it.
A redemption code is something that is usually on the inner disc packaging if you purchase the media in a box, and there is a barcode on the outside of the packaging that must be scanned at the checkout register to activate the hidden inner code so you can redeem it at home on that website. This is what happens if you buy PSE from a brick-and-mortar store like Best Buy. I don’t’ know what happens if you purchase the downloaded version as I have never done that.
A redemption code is 24-digits of letters and numbers that you enter into a website to get a serial number, once and only once. The serial number of only 24-digits, no letters, is what you enter into the software during the install or when you run it and it asks if you want to register or run in a trial mode—whatever the exact phrasing is.
In any case it sounds like you don’t have either a redemption code or serial number—although perhaps something is listed on the purchase confirmation or your account online at Amazon or even in an e-mail from Amazon.

There's a good chance that you can if you haven't done too much work after deleting it. Typically files are not actually wiped from the hard drive, rather the space they take is marked as free to use by another file if needed. So if it hasn't been used by another file it can be recovered.

I deleted a photo from Photoshop Elements 11 organizer. How do I delete it in Photoshop Editor?

Nothing is actually "in" the editor. It's just like most other programs you might use to open a file, not like organizer that's making a database of your photos. Just close it there, either from the image window or tab's close button, or by pressing ctrl+W (command+W on a mac).
