From R/3 To DSO

Hello Experts,
I extracted data from r/3 to DSO as a full mode nine times and I run delta infopackage. Everything was fine until the system gave error.
Whenever I run the delta package again, the system said there is a problem with source system. So what I should do?

First of all, thank you for answering my question. But, I have an issue. I have a DSO and I have to load data about 20.000.000 and during the activition of DSO, it gives an error. I tried to find out a solution like
1. Full load data (Fiscal Year: 2004-2005)
2. Full Load Data (Fiscal Year: 2005-2006)
9. Delta Data (Fiscal Year: 2006-31.12.9999)
All was fine. Whever I run the delta infopackage the system gave the error.
Did you get my point?
I think I should load data by using Delta, Full Mode, Init!!!! But, How? And also, it is BW 3.5.

DTP can Not extract data of date field from PSA to Target DSO

Hi everyone.
I enhanced several fields in datasource "2LIS_12_VCITM". that is date field "BLDAT" and another date type fields.
The data of date type fields are extracted very well from datasource to PSA.
But only field "BLDAT" among them are NOT extracted from PSA to target DSO.
Another date type fields is good. but only "BLDAT" field is empty.
I added "BLDAT" later than another date fields.
Is that the reason??
I don't know why.
Let me know the solution. pls~~~~

Try deleting and recreating the DTP and loading again.
This solution refers to note 925941 and should be solved in SPS10.

Error while activating data from new table of DSO to active table

HI,
while activating data from new table of DSO to active table i am getting
error message as "Error occurred while deciding partition number".
Plz any idea hoe to resolve this one.

Hi
You are trying to update/upload the Records which are already been there in the DSO Active Data Table which has the partition.
Try to see the Record Nos already been activated and update/upload with selective, if possible.
You can trace the changes at Change log table for the same.

Error while loading data from DataSource to InfoCube/DSO through DTP

Hi Friends,
I am trying to load data from DataSource to InfoCube/DSO through DTP and getting the following error:
Exception in substep: Extraction completed
Processing terminated
Data package 1 / 30.04.2009 22:38:30 / Status 'Processed with Errors'
When i see the detail message it says:
Syntax error in routine "convert_to_applstru", line 25 of generated program"
I checked all my transformation and looks ok. I was able to load data earlier and i getting this error all of sudden. Does some one know what is this routine "convert_to_applstru" ?

Error while loading data from R/3 into DSO

While loading data from 2lis_02_s012 into a DSO the following error occured:

Diagnosis
    Updating for the information structure is still activated in client 150
    (and possibly also in other clients).
System Response
    o   It is not possible to upload data in the initial mode.
    o   Generation of the delta update was terminated.
Procedure
    1. Switch off updating in all system clients.
    2. Repeat the relevant activity.

Hi VN,
1. Incase you do full update , system will allow you to load without any error.
2. In case you want to do init then
      Lock users
      Stop the update in the system .
      Load init Package
      Start the update
      Unlock users.
      Load delta package.

Transfer Data from a Query to DSO

Hello,
I have an APD to transfer data from a query to a 'Direct update DSO'. The execution of this APD times out since the volume of query data is very high.
Is there an alternate way of transfering data from a query to DSO?
Please suggest.

One way would be to extract the data from the existing cube using a function module that would mimic the query level filters and restrictions. That data can be populated into the new cube.
I wud suggest u take the data from a non-aggregated layer (say a DSO below the cube).
Also, check for the possibility of running the APD in multiple runs by using some kind of selection that would sum up to give u the whole data required.
Can u confirm if ur query itself is getting timed out?

Hi Friends,
None of the attributes are pulled using Open Hub.
For Infocubes, only characteristics in Dimensions along with all Key figures are pulled.
For DSO, all the Key fields and Data fields are pulled.

i am new to process chains
can anyone explain how to load data from flat file to dso using process chains(i have created all the objects created) preffered if explained with an example

Error while deleting data from a write optimized DSO using a Process Chain?

Dear Bwers,
I am facing a strange error while using process chains to delete data from data target which is a write optimized DSO. The process shows as failed but the data gets deleted in the DSO. The error message is as below. Did anybody have a similar problem? Any suggestions.

How to load data from PSA to CUBE & DSO at a time using DTP in BI 7 ?

HI all,
I am new to BI 7 . How to load the data at same time to DSO & INFO CUBE using DTP.
Please provide me steps to load & plz specify which update mode I have to use ( FULL OR DELTA ) which one is best.

Below are the basic steps which we follow in any BI 2004S system:
1)Create datasource. Here u can set/check the Soucre System fields.
2)Create Transformation for that datasource. (no more update rules/transfer rules)
2.1) While creating transformation for DS it will ask you for data target name, so just assign where u want to update ur data.
DataSource -> Transformation -> Data Target
Now if you want to load data into data target from Source System Datasource:
1) Create infopackage for that data source. If you are creating infopackage for new datasources, it will only allow you update upto PSA, all other options u can see as disabled.
2)Now Create DTP (Data Transfer Process) for that data source.
3) NOw schdule the Infopackage, once the data is loaded to PSA, you can execute your DTP which will load data to data target.
If you are loading data from one one data target to other, no need to use PSA, you can directly execute DTP in that case.
Data Source -> Transformation (IP/DTP) -> Data Target1 -> DTP ->Data Target 2

Load data from BW 7.0 DSO into a ECC 6.0 SD standard/Custom pricing table

Gurus,
We have a scenario, where we need to load data from a BW DSO to SD standard/Custom pricing table in ECC 6.0. That data will be few thousand records.
Per my knowledge, in BPS, retractors are available to update data from BW to ECC and OpenHub also can be used to handle similar scenarios.
Any one of you came across similar scenario?
If you have any third option (not BPS rectors or OpeHub) as a solution to handle this kind scenario, and share the knowledge, it will be greatly appreciated.

We have large data volumes for Billing datasource and hence moving flat files using PI is not an option and also as i mentioned a part of requirement is monitoring of the whole process as well. What i mean by this is if a 1000 billing document items were passed on to CRM7 to create a member activities and because of some reason a member activity was not created for one of the billing doc items, we should know the problematic record and reason why member activity was not created in CRM7 (reason code). And then be able to fix it. All this requires an end to end monitoring capability and also guaranteed delivery of data to CRM7.
Hence i was trying to explore the enterprise web service option.
What i am not sure of is how to expose BW DSO delta request to CRM7 using a web service ? or any other method that gives end to end monitoring capability and also guaranteed delivery of data to CRM7.
Any other suggestions ?

Problem loading Flatfile from application server to DSO

Hello,
I've a little problem while loading a Flatfile (csv) from the application server to a DSO. The Flatfile has only one data record and a header.
But in the DSO are always two data records, the right one and one empty record.
If I use the same Data Source and the same DTP and switch it to upload from the workstation there is just one data record. (What would be right).
I'm using the upload without PSA in Full-Update-Mode.
I tried to create a new Data Source, but same effect.

Not sure about it, and in absence of sufficient information I can only guess.
But somehow it looks like the well-known problem of files being changed in transfer between Unix (your application server I guess ) and Windows (your workstation I guess ).
Try to find out correct transfer method, asc or bin, or whatever you call it.
I hope this helps.

Inventory of Queries from Infocube based on DSO fields

Hi,
I have a requirement to find out the Inventory of queries used by 15 Info providers build on 2 DSO's.
One of the DSO have more than 7 yr old data and to restrict the same with 3 yr data, we want to do impact analysis on all the queries using the DSO in the respective Info cubes.
Question: Can someone help me out to find the solution to identify the queries especially using the fields populated from the DSO, as there are more than 1 thousand reports existing in the data base from the above 15 Info providers.
Fields-Infoprovider-Queries --> Depending on the DSO

Transformations not copied from cube flow to dso

hi
i have 3.x flow from ds to cube. i want use dso in the middle before load to cube.
i migrated flow 3.x to 7.x?
now i created dso with same cube structure?
i am trying copy of cube transfromations ( which migrated 3.x to 7.x flow) to dso? most of the fields not mapping? we can do manual this is no issue, my doubt is why filed mapping is not done when i copy transformations?

If you are mapping from a DSO to cube then you will not get overwrite option.
In cube only data aggregation is possible.
