From root102.sh script = Startup will be queued to init within 30 seconds
Hi All,
I am trying to install RAC 10g[10.2.0.4] using Vmware (cent OS).
I am done with clusterware [10.2.0.1] instalaltion now I want to upgarde it to 10.2.0.4 so download patchset 3 and run the installer window...
it works fine but giving me message that needs to run "root102.sh" script [because I have not down the crsctl before start patch installer].
so when run the root102.sh ...it was working fine but suddenly network goes down. Now I dont know at which stage scrtip is running?
so I connect that node and run the "root102.sh" again but it stopeed at line "Startup will be queued to init within 30 seconds." since last 30 mins...
Anybody having any idea what would be the next step?
Thanks...
hi,
this is the line where it stop...
+ /etc/init.d/init.crs start
Startup will be queued to init within 30 seconds.
+ /etc/init.d/init.cssd startcheck css
I can see the ps -ef | grep cssd
root 9915 9632 0 18:34 pts/1 00:00:00 /bin/sh /etc/init.d/init.cssd startcheck css
-- yes I can reboot this vm.
Also from second node I can see the below status of resources:
./crs_stat -t
Name Type Target State Host
ora....ac1.gsd application ONLINE OFFLINE
ora....ac1.ons application ONLINE OFFLINE
ora....ac1.vip application ONLINE ONLINE idcorarac2
ora....ac2.gsd application ONLINE ONLINE idcorarac2
ora....ac2.ons application ONLINE ONLINE idcorarac2
ora....ac2.vip application ONLINE ONLINE idcorarac2
Do I need to reinstall clusterware? or is there any way by just runnign some root script and comeout from this ?
Thanks...

I have poor/no service on my iphone 6 in places that I do have service on my old iphone 5. Takes 10 minutes to send text and webpages will not load but load within seconds on the iphone 5 and forget making a phone call. How do i resolve this issue??
Hey kristiac,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you have no service on the iPhone. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

For the last 3 days I have been unable to launch Safari. When I try to open the browser a box appears that states Safari quit unexpectedly. It could have been from an issue with the plug_ins plug in. Please try to relaunch. Not sure what to do.
I don't know what "surees" issue is but my safari won't open since I installed the latest update from Apple. Here is my log. Maybe you can help me with this one....

I have two problems with my 2012 13” MacBook Pro.
Gray screen shows at startup
Randomly disconnects from network.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.First, open Terminal in your Utilities folder and paste this into the prompt line:
sudo update_dyld_shared_cache
Press RETURN. You will be prompted to enter your admin password which will not be echoed to the screen. Press RETURN again.
Next, boot the computer into Safe Mode.
Next, do the following:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -
Is there an AppleScript or Automator Script that will wake a Mac from Sleep?
Is there an AppleScript or Automator Script that will wake a Mac from Sleep?
Frank and All,
The following answer to your question above is complicated, but I hope it explains why my question was formed with so much frustration in it.
I have an OpenOffice(OO) Macro that was launched with Calendar at 6pm each business night. It ran properly in all Apples operating systems until I Hit Maverick(OSX10.9). From then on, the AppleScript would run from one to 3 days, then would disappear from the Calendar entry. The Calendar alert would still run, but the "OpenFile" section of the alert would disappear. I also was running elgato EyeTV HD during the day, so I would use energy saver to put my MacBook Pro to sleep at 12 Midnight and wake it again at 9am. I picked up a used Mac Mini to do the EyeTV stuff, provide AppleTV the files in H264 format through iTunes' media share, and found it had plenty of power to do the 6pm automated stuff simultaneously as well. Because I still wanted to run the OpenOffice Macro on my MacBook Pro at 6pm, and wanted to use it for a host of other things when I was on the road, I wanted it to sleep most of the time and only wake up automatically to run the 6pm OO Macro. When I called Apple about the issue I was having with Maverick and Calendar loosing the OpenFile command as part of the Alert Message, they told me the no longer supported answering AppleScript Questions but they now would support Automator questions. I pointed out that the OpenFile would also fail after one to three days if I used a Calendar Alert to launch an Automator App. At first, I did not like Automator, but now I see why Apple is pushing us to use it. Automator adds a TIME STAMP ID to the Apps developed in Automator so the first time you launch the App after a change to it, you must reply to a dialog message saying that this is the first time you are running this version of the App. If a Scammer has replaced your app with one that can reek havoc on your computer, the replacement app will not run unless you are there to agree that you know where the modified app came from and click the OK button to continue (BRILLIANT, Enhanced Security idea on Apples part). I also noticed that after Mountain Lion, the Applescript delay timing was all screwed up as well. Well I tried to use LaunchD Task Scheduler to circumvent the Calendar Problem and that worked until I upgraded to Yosemite Last week. Then LaunchD no longer worked and I am only into a few days of using The Calendar Launched Automator App to see if it will continue to run.
But I think I solved the dilemma I was having with opening an Automator App in a Sleeping Mac. I Googled up the following question, "AppleScript to wake up computer". I went thru several complex responses until I found this on that is INCREDIBLE EASEY! What came back was a brettterpstra.com response from Feb 20th,2014. What it said, in a Quick Tip: caffeinated your Terminal Article, if you wanted to wake a Mac from sleep, use the Terminal command named "Caffeine -u -t 1". I placed it in an Automator Most Used Action called "Run Shell Script -- Caffeine -u -t 1" and it worked! Now, I can put my Mac to Sleep but at 6pm, the Automator App will launch, run the "Caffeine -u- -t 1" command and proceed to work as if I had awakened the Mac From Sleep mode by pressing a keyboard key and had run the Automator Script with a double click.
Sorry for the long, drawn-out reply, but maybe this will help others. -
Keep Web Sharing from launching at System Startup
If I run
$ sudo apachectl start
and look in Preferences > Sharing
Web Sharing is checked (and rightly so).
But, if at this moment I were to restart my Macbook, Web Sharing (Apache) would be started.
How do I keep Apache from starting at System Startup?
Ideally, I would like to be able to 'manually' start and stop Apache using apachectl, and I don't want to have to run
$ sudo apachectl stop
or uncheck Web Sharing
before shutting down or restarting the computer.If web sharing is on when you restart your Mac, the Mac will restart the service automatically (I'm hard-pressed to think of a reason why one would not want it to work that way, and I suspect the devs had the same problem). If you don't want that to be the case, there are a couple of options. Easiest, I suspect, would be to create a script (using the apachectl command you already know). You can set that up with launchd to disable web sharing at login time (for various reasons running scripts at shutdown - though possible - is discouraged; such scripts can accidentally cancel shutdown, and obviously won't be run if there's a crash or power interruption). You can adjust the permissions so that it can be executed by a normal user while still running as an admin (make sure you disable user write permission to that file, so someone can't hijack it to run other commands as admin), and then the script can be used to manually start/stop web sharing as well.
so, the script in /path/to/script.sh (owned by an admin account with 755 privileges)
#! /bin/bash
if [ "$1" = "start" ] ; then
apachectl start
else
apachectl stop

RE: Running Escript from a UNIX script
Hi Doug,
Yu can try the following within escript:
(using execcmd to generate an escript script and include to execute the
generated escript)
1) startup escript from a ksh
2) get to the installedPartition level
3) setOutFile yourOutFile
4) showag
5) setOutFile
6) execcmd " yourAwkGrepScript.ksh yourOutFile "
7) include yourGeneratedEscript
yourAwkGrepScript.ksh analyses yourOutFile and finds
the ActivePartition level subagent with the hex number as part of that
subagent name
then generates a new escript script with a fixed name yourGeneratedEscript
I hope this idea will help you to solve your problem.
Evert Nooijen.

Subject: Running Escript from a UNIX script
I'm running a Korn Shell script that uses Escript to navigate down through
an applications sub agents to get to the LoadBalancingRouter agent. Now I
also need to get to the CommMgr agent in the same fashion. The problem I'm
having is that once I get to the InstalledPartition level , I need to get
to the ActivePartition level which requires the hex number as part of the
subagent name. I've figured out a way to get the subagent name using awk &
grep, but haven't been able to do it while I'm in escript. Basically I
need to find the subagent for the installed partition & pass that name to
the findsubagent command. Escript doesn't seem to understand grep or awk??
Does anyone have any ideas or have you done something like this before??

Searchable thread archive <URL:http://pinehurst.sageit.com/listarchive/>Escript is pretty dumb, in that it doesn't have any
looping or conditional expressions itself. I drive
escript from a korn shell script also.
Basically, I make two passes when doing things with
escript in cases like this. One pass I send the
commands to get the necessary info out of escript,
and redirect to a file.
Second pass, I awk/grep/whatever the info out of
the temporary file and use it to build another
set of escript commands to do the real work.

How to run gdb from a bash script?
I'm trying to use gdb for the 1st time. I'd like to start it up by launching a bash script which will provide a file name for gbd commands and a file name for the executeable. I've tried every which way but nothing works. Can someone help?
With respect to .gdbinit, the following is from the gdb.pdf documentation
<http://www.gnu.org/software/gdb/documentation/>
When you start gdb, it automatically executes commands from its init files, normally called ‘.gdbinit’. During startup, gdb does the following:
1. Reads the init file (if any) in your home directory.
2. Processes command line options and operands.
3. Reads the init file (if any) in the current working directory.
4. Reads command files specified by the ‘-x’ option.
So you can have a different .gdbinit in the current working directory, which can be different for each program you are writing, assuming you wish to use separate directories for your projects.
gdb has a 'source filename' command, which you can use to execute commands stored in a file anytime you want. So you could put your breakpoints in a file that you then exeucte within gdb using
source file.with.your.breakpoints
Of course the file could have ANY gdb commands in it, not just breakpoints.
Did you mean you compile your program with -g as in
gcc -g program.c -o program
Or did you mean -ggdb I've always used -g, but reading the gcc man page, I do not see any problems using -ggdb.

Is it possible to call a method in a servlet from a java script ?
I need to do a dynamic html page . In the page i select some things and then these things must communicate whit a servlet because the servlet will do some DB querys and update the same webpage.
So is it possible to actually call a method of a servlet from a java script? i want to do something that looks like this page:
http://www.hebdo.net/v5/search/search.asp?rubno=4000&cregion=1011&sid=69DHOTQ30307151
So when u select something in the first list the secodn list automaticly updates.
thank you very muchYou can
1. load all the options when loading the page and
set second selection options when user selected
the first; or
2. reload the page when user select first selection
by 'onChange' event; or
3. using iframe so you only need to reload part of
the page. -
Getting the output from a Perl script using Runtime.exec
I cannot get the output from a perl script using Java. Can someone PLEASE help?
I used the following code:
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("C:\\Perl\\bin\\Perl.exe script.pl) ;
InputSream in = p.getInputStream();
b...
do
System.out.println(b);
while ((b = in.read()) > 0)
But there is no way that I get the output in the inputstream. If I use the command "cmd script.pl", the output is displayed in the Dos box, but also not in the inputstream.
I will appreciate any help.Try this
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("C:\\Perl\\bin\\Perl.exe script.pl) ;
BufferedReader rd = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
String str;
while((str=rd.readLine())!=null){
System.out.println(str);

How do I keep emails from being deleted on my iPhone 6? Emails get deleted from phone when I startup desktop computer and they are downloaded from sever. Is POP3 no longer supported on IOS 8.1?
Have you seen this?
Using a POP account with more than one device - Apple Support
A better solution is if your email provider uses IMAP. IMAP sync email folders between multiple devices. Meaning any device will receive the email, all sent email can be seen on the devices. If you delete email from one device the email is deleted from all the other devices. Check with your email provider to see if they offer IMAP services.
If they do not your choices are to 1) configure email on the PC to keep Mail on the mail server or 2) change email providers to something like Gmail or Outlook.com (as examples). FWIW I use Cox IMAP email and fully sync email between a Win 8.1 Update 1 laptop, a Win 7 desktop, an iPad 4, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5S. -
Filling Activity fields from the Interactive Script WinClient
Hi Experts,
I am working with Interactive Scripting (CRMM_TM_SCRIPT) and I already defined my interactive script. I am also creating Activities after I finish with the Script in order to register a case. I am doing this by defining an Action Type CIC-AB which calls an Action Box in the Interaction Center WinClient. In the Action field I define the name of the Activity I want to call from the Action Box of the Interaction Center.
When the Agent receives a call, he navigates in the Interactive Script in order to clasify the case he is treating. At the end of the Script, the case needs to be register following the clasification made by the Agent, and thats why we are calling an Activity. The thing is that we dont want the Agent to fill again the information he just defined in the Script in the Activiy, so we want to fill certain fields of the Activiy I am calling with Information of the Interactive Script I used before, in order to save time to the Agent that Register the Case.
Can anyome shed some light on this issue?
Thanks to everyone.Alberto
You can create an activity.i.e., you can create an Order from the Interactive Script if you already created the Script structurethen follow the below steps
I think it would be helpful
Procedure:
T-Code: EWFC0
Path: SPROIMGCustomer Relationship ManagementCustomer Interaction CenterVisible ComponentsAction Box SettingsDefine Configuration Profile for Action Box.
1. Choose F4 help to select one of the Action Box profiles you have created and you want to adapt and choose change.
2. Mark the Action box Configuration and create a new Action Box Group by choosing Create transaction group.
Enter a group ID, description and icon for the new transaction group and choose Continue.
3. Mark the new transaction group and create a new Action Box transaction by choosing Create transaction.
4. Enter a transaction ID.
5. Enter a Transaction Definition section, select Workspace.
6. In the Transaction Definition section, select Workspace.
Two additional fields will appear.
7 Choose F4 in the Workspace field to select the Script.
8. Choose F4 in the profile field to select the Interactive Scripting profile that you created in the previous steps above.
9. Enter a Slot Name if desired.
10. Choose Continue.
You are automatically taken to the Maintain Data Flow screen .No data flow parameters need to be maintained for the Interactive Scripting workspace.
11. Choose Back.
12 Choose Save.
Note: Since Only Workspace of this type can be open at once, you will need to close the Automatically Created Interactive Scripting Workspace before launching the Interactive Scripting Action Box call.

Update name, surname from display name - script needed
Hello
I'm moved from Postfix to Office365. My users has only display name field filled. This is a problem when we try to find an user, because only way is to find it when You will put name in search field.
I decided to build a script that will first check if the user has "Name" is filled if not then we need to take display name. Divide it (take first word into name and rest into
surname). Next update users name and surname.
I try to make such script but my skills are not enought to do it, so I ask You for help. I know that this is a piece of cake for You ;)

I need a script that will find the computer a user last logged into.
I am still learning scripting, I need a script that will allow me to pull in usernames from a csv file. Find what computer they last logged into and output that to an csv file.
I have looked all over and can't find exactly what I need.
I found the following script but I need to add the resuitsize unlimited but can not figure out where to put it we have a large environment. Also I need to be able to grab username from a csv file. Any assistance you can provide is appreciated.
## Find out what computers a user is logged into on your domain by running the script
## and entering in the requested logon id for the user.
## This script requires the free Quest ActiveRoles Management Shell for Active Directory
## snapin http://www.quest.com/powershell/activeroles-server.aspx
Add-PSSnapin Quest.ActiveRoles.ADManagement -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
$ErrorActionPreference = "SilentlyContinue"
# Retrieve Username to search for, error checks to make sure the username
# is not blank and that it exists in Active Directory
Function Get-Username {
$Global:Username = Read-Host "Enter username you want to search for"
if ($Username -eq $null){
Write-Host "Username cannot be blank, please re-enter username!!!!!"
Get-Username}
$UserCheck = Get-QADUser -SamAccountName $Username
if ($UserCheck -eq $null){
Write-Host "Invalid username, please verify this is the logon id for the account"
Get-Username}
get-username resultsize unlimited
$computers = Get-QADComputer | where {$_.accountisdisabled -eq $false}
foreach ($comp in $computers)
$Computer = $comp.Name
$ping = new-object System.Net.NetworkInformation.Ping
$Reply = $null
$Reply = $ping.send($Computer)
if($Reply.status -like 'Success'){
#Get explorer.exe processes
$proc = gwmi win32_process -computer $Computer -Filter "Name = 'explorer.exe'"
#Search collection of processes for username
ForEach ($p in $proc) {
$temp = ($p.GetOwner()).User
if ($temp -eq $Username){
write-host "$Username is logged on $Computer"If you are querying by user "resultset size" will be of no use.
You also have functions that are never used and the body code doe snot look for users.
Here is what you scrip looks like if printed well. It is just a jumble of pasted together and unrelated items.

I suggest finding the original code then use the learning link at the top of this page to help you understand how it works in Powershell.

CALCHASHTBL removed from old calc scripts
Hi
I have just removed "SET CALCHASHTBL ON" from my old scripts ,as it has been removed from 7 version.
How it is going to effect with my new script execution.I'm stretching here, as it's been a while...
I believe the impact is on the use of "top down" calculations and the optimization of sparse formulas. Both of these are automatically set by the database now (unless you override them), whereas in the past you had to play with it to manually find a good setting.
So, unless I'm wrong on that, you won't need to do anything special to get "optimum" results. If the results are outright wrong, however, you will need to override the default top down settings. I don't recall the exact settings off the top of my head, but they are fairly easily found in the techref -- IF that is what must be done.
