From safary to pages

Hi, when i want to print from safary i can choose to save the page to the pdf, is there a way to save the page to the pages? because i want to export it to ePub and when i just copy/paste from pdf it has a lot of wrong characters

The only way is to use copy/paste.
But you may use cmd +P and ask to save in a PDF directly from Safari.

If by reserve you mean should not move on scrolling then make them KEY from fieldcatalog.
But I think maximum of 10-12 can be handled by that.

I sent the document as a PDF and it worked. But I want to be able to use Pages back and forth. HOw do I update the Pages version on my desktop iMac?

The file format used by the iOS versions of the iWork apps can only be read by the new iWork apps on your Mac - i.e. Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. Those versions for the Mac require Mavericks, OS X 10.9. The "too old" error on a Mac comes if you are trying to open an iWork '08 or earlier file in the newest apps. If you do have the newest apps you can open the files from your iPad.
If you can't or don't want to upgrade to Mavericks & the newest iWork apps your best option would be to export/share the files from the iPad to a type an older version of iWork can read such as Word, text, Excel, etc.
Or contact AppleCare. They made this mess, let them fix it.

Posting an XML Variable to a BLS Transaction from a web page

I am working in xMII 11.5 with all the latest service packs. I know this is probably a really basic question but I am stumped.
I am trying to pass a multi row and multi column XML data set from a web page into a BLS transaction (actually, two of them) in order to populate the parameter. I want to use the Web Service interface to the transaction. I have tried using parameters on an Xacute Query in an Applet as well with an equal lack of success. I cannot persuade the transaction to see the incoming variable as an XML data type. I have tried encoding and decoding and string to xml conversions and nothing seems to successfully allow the data set to be seen withing the BLS as anything but a string. The String to XML action will not handle the number of columns in the dataset though it seems to work if the data set has only one column. The data set is formatted in the proper "Rowsets/Rowset/Row" format. I have considered writing the data to an XML file on the server (I know I can deal with that) but that is not acceptable in this application.
Can someone share the secret with me?

Of course, your columns aren't flat but they are easy to ref, to get "column 2" for example:
StringListToXml_1.Output{/Rowsets/Rowset/Row[2]/Item}
So now you have rows and columns. Assign your data to your BAPI structured as needed.
We have passed complex XML via the SOAP interface in 11.5, but it involved some "hacks". Basically we passed the sterilized XML via a String Type Parameter, and then unserialized it inside the BLT.
I have been told on this board that there is a solution to passing XML data vie the SOAP interface using ref docs, but i have never personally seen a working example.

Issue in redirecting to portal page from SSO login page

HI facing issue while redirecting to portal application from SSO login page.please find below basic details
the application comprises of TAM / Apache / Weblogic, and all the request goes in the same order.
When the application is deployed as portlet, the jsp page some how hard codes the apache host name, that in turn blocks any form submit or Ajax action.
so on successful login the redirection is not happening to required portal page as it includes apache host name in the url consrtucted.
Please suggest me what are the configurations that I need to verify .

The template is a document in itself, it is not applied to an existing document whether it is a Pages document or a Word document converted to a Pages document.
You would need to either copy and paste content, using existing styles, or apply the styles to the converted Word document.
You can Import the Styles from an existing document and those imported Styles can be used to override the current document's styles:
Menu > Format > Import Styles
The process is simplified if the styles use the same names, otherwise you will need to delete the style you don't want and replace it with the one that you do want when asked, then the substitution is pretty straightforward.

Simplest way is to rewrite html page into jsf page.
You can use session bean in your managed bean like this:

I want to call a BSP page which reads a single value from a table and returns that value I want the Javascript in the HTML code to get the value from the BSP page.

Hi,
you need 3 elements to make the javascript code read the value in any field in the table: table´s name, line and column. This is how your code could look like:

ROW works as a counter. You have in variable valor the value of the field and can do with it what you want, perhaps display it with ALERT. I am reading the values from field 1 to n in column 4 in table TABLA1. Pay attention to the '_' in the concatenation of field´s name. The table in my BSP is very simple:

and somewhere I must call function display in my javascript code:

What kind of web page do you have? Do you have possibility to for example make RFCs? Then you could trigger events (with parameters that could "return" the values) and the workflow could react to those events. For example your task can have terminating events.

I am trying to pass parameters from my JSPDyn Page to WDJ Application.
I am using NWDS 7.1 EHP1
My code is :

This method is being called on click of a button.
hkparam is the parameter in question.
The JSPDyn page is an iView and the WDJ application is a page and both have been assigned to a role.
In the properties of the WDJ Page, I have removed DymanicParameter from "Do not Forward These Parameters To Web Dynpro" property.
However I am getting null as the value of hkparam in my WDJ application.
The code used is :
IWDRequest request = WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject();
       String param1= request.getParameter("hkparam");
What seems to be missing here.
Please help.

if the parameter is hkparam and the value to be passed is Dmypass1123. You need not change any design time property of the WD page, and WDProtocolAdapter should retrive the parameter.

Target Named Anchor in a Spry Collapsible Panel from a different page

Let me start by saying I have combed this forum (and others) looking for a resolution to this. I am familiar with David Powers solution on Foundationphp.com and am using that code in project to open the collapsible panel from a separate page and it works beautifullly. The problem I have is that I want the browser to move down to a specific named anchor inside that opened collapsible panel when clicked from a different page.
Snippets of my current code here.

If I have a named anchor say <a name="species1" id="species1"></a> down in the page, how do I target that named anchor from my link on the separate page. I have tried adding the #species1 to the end of the link on the link page (see below) but with no luck. I believe those were the instructions on foundationphp.com site.

How to download an animated .gif from a web page

how do i download to my mac an animated gif that is on a web page....when i want a picture or text or something like that i just ...apple shift 4 and "take a picture of it" ...but i want the animation..i have never had to do that on this mac.....a windoze person from the site(chat site) said just right click but my wireless mac mouse doesnt do that....i would appreciate any help.....i do know how to down load from a site that has downloadable .gifs...you just click the download sign they have and no problem....but this is just a random animated .gif from a web page ....i hope my ques is clear....thank you

Drag and drop it from the webpage onto your desktop. Note that it won't remain "animated" while you're looking at the file's icon, but it should work if you build it into a new website.
And you can right-click with a Mac mouse - you just have to set it up to do so in System Preferences. (Set the right side of the mouse to be a "secondary click".)
