From SRM 5.0 to SRM 6.0 or SRM 7.0

Hi,
Is there any real business benefit in upgrading to SRM 6.0 from 5.0 or should one wait for SRM 7.0 instead?
If you're currently running SRM 5.0, extended classic using MDM 2.0 what can 6.0 provide to justify the cost of the upgrade?
Regards,
Jerry

Hi Jerry,
It is better to wait for SRM 7.0.SAP accepted that SRM5.0 has edge over SRM 6.0.
Please read SAP Published news on SRM 6.0.

<b>Here is the latest update from SAP regarding SRM 6.0 and future releases.</b>----
Oct 15, 2007
Dear Customer and or Partner
This communication is designed to help you understand our planned next steps with the release of SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) 2007.
Summary
SAP is moving ahead with our Business Suite strategy which SRM is a key component. This strategy requires significant development, coordination and resources. As a result we have had to make a decision on balancing our continued investment in SRM 2007 against the importance of SRM 7.0 included as part of the Business Suite release.
After reviewing all potential options we have decided that the best path forward is for the SRM 2007 release to only be shipped to customers that have already been identified as part of our SRM 2007 Ramp-Up program.
We are therefore advising all other customers to start any new projects on the proven SRM 2005 release and then to upgrade to a future version of SRM. This next upgrade could be to SRM 7.0 included as part of the Business Suite release either as part of the SRM 7.0 Ramp-Up program or with general availability in 2009.
We strongly believe that our customers will benefit from the value proposition of SRM 7.0 included as part of the Business Suite release and the planned SRM investments into the overall procure to pay process.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) 2007
The SAP SRM 2007 release represents continued investment by SAP in SRM including improvements to the user interface and a new business rule framework (BRF).
We continue to make progress towards our SRM 2007 SP03 milestone in the areas of quality and performance. As a result we are on schedule to deliver SP03 on December 10th, 2007.
Yet, because of our decision to focus our efforts on the importance of delivering on SRM 7.0 included as part of the Business Suite release we have decided that SRM 2007 will only be shipped to customers that have already been identified as part of our SRM 2007 Ramp-Up program. We will fully support these customer’s efforts to go live on SRM 2007.
A core KPI of our SRM 2007 Ramp-Up program continues to be the importance of successful customers on the release coupled with our own field readiness.
Only in extremely exceptional cases will requests be accepted for additional customers to be included in the SRM 2007 Ramp-Up program.
Supporting Information
Customers with existing SRM 2007 Projects – These customers will receive maintenance on SRM 2007 according to the 5-1-2 framework.
New Customers – Recommend that customers interested in starting projects now should start their projects on the proven SRM 2005 release. Those customers that have a project start date beginning in Q4’2008 should target SRM 7.0 which is included as part of the Business Suite release either as part of the SRM 7.0 Ramp-Up program or with general availability in 2009.
SRM 3.0 and Below Customers – Recommend that customers on versions up to and including SRM 3.0 interested in upgrading to start any new projects on the proven SRM 2005 release and then to upgrade to a future version of SRM. This next upgrade could be to SRM 7.0 included as part of the Business Suite release either as part of the SRM 7.0 Ramp-Up program or with general
availability in 2009.
SRM 4.0 – Recommend that SRM 4.0 customers upgrading to start any new projects on the proven SRM 2005 release and then to upgrade to a future version of SRM. This next upgrade could be to SRM 7.0 included as part of the Business Suite release either as part of the SRM 7.0 Ramp-Up program or with general availability in 2009.
SRM 2005 Customers – Recommend that SRM 2005 customers take the next step to upgrade to a future version of SRM based on their planned upgrade project schedule. This next upgrade could be to SRM 7.0 included as part of the Business Suite release either as part of the SRM 7.0 Ramp-Up program or with general availability in 2009.

  • PO Text from R/3 Material Master to Product Master in SRM

    Hello Forum,
I want to replicate the PO Text from r/3 material master to Product master in SRM to be seen in commpr01..
I am not sure if this text can be seen in SC even if it is not seen in commpr01..
    how can i achive this?
    Thanks
    Arshad

    Hi,
You need to create a customer field or a new text in the documetnos brim at item level and to look for that text of the request through RFC using the badi DOC_CHANNGE.

  • SRM PO- BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI - Code not effective when the SRM PO is created

    Hi Experts,
We are using SRM 5.0 Classic and Extended classic scenario and the SRM local PO(Extended classic scenario) is created for special cateogries only. The SRM Local PO is created automatically after the SC is completely approved.
The SC(one line item) with these special cateogies(chosen from catalogs) do and can have the currency different from the Org stucture currency and hence based on user selection the currency on the Item level(Currency selected in catalog) can be  different from the Item Overview total.
Now we need to have the SC item level currency at the SRM PO header level which is created from this SC automatically. The code has been written in the BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI implementation of method BBP_PO_CHANGE
With the code implementation, the currency is PO currency is not changed to SC item level currency when the PO is initially created from the SC automatically. However if the same SRM PO is changed and ordered again, the currency gets changed to the SC item level currency in the SRM PO, i.e. executes the BADI code as desired.
Can anybody guide how can the currency be changed when the PO is first created automatically from the SC ?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Khaja.

    Hi Soumyaprakash,
    Thanks for the reply.
In the doc_save BADI there are no export parameters which can be modified.
Neverthless, please suggest if there is an way to change/influence the PO data using the doc_save badi in your view ?

  • Updating SRM contracts from R/3 to SRM....

    Hi all,
I am working in SRM, my requirement is to update the SRM contracts from R/3 to SRM and if any changes happen in R/3 contracts (previously updated contracts to SRM) then it should replicate those changes in SRM contracts also.
I found the program BBP_CONTRACT_INITIAL_UPLOAD (This program can be used to upload contracts from ERP to SRM. A separate contract in SRM would be created for each successfully transferred ERP contract.)
My question is, so if any changes happen in R/3 contracts it should update SRM contracts also.
Please let me know the solution how to solve this?
Highly appreciated any kind of help..
    Thanks
    Rajesh.

    Hi Rajesh,
I think that your scenario is very risky as there is no master system for contract : one time it is srm and after it can be r/3 !
Besides this comment, you can search the forum and find some threads for contract replication in both ways (but no activated in the same time...)

  • Overwriting Conditions data during Material Replication from R/3 to SRM.

    Hi,
When creating a new info record and then running the material replication program everything looks OK. However, if for the same material you create a new info record or change the existing info record and then run the material replication, some of the previous data is removed.
We implemented BADI(PRODUCT_CUSTOMER2) to read info records from R/3. When i debug BADI all the info record and condition info is populated. Once the control leaves the BADI standard SAP code is not inserting/updating delta condition records. It is only populating latest info record.
          SRM 4.0
          Support pack level : 11
          BADI Name: PRODUCT_CUSTOMER2

  • Transfer of PR from ECC to SRM

    Hi experts,
I am new to SRM & my questions can be bit easy. We have implemented PDP & while transferring the PR from ECC to SRM, the PR got stuck in sxmb_moni in SRM. Now when i  see the error /sappo/ppo2 it shows "cannot save template: Insert Items".
I have checked the Org. Structure and i think the attributes defined to the RFC_USER is also correct because i can create the shopping cart without an error from this user.

  • Recalculate the Price in SRM once the item is transfer to SRM from SRM MDM

    Hi Experts,
I am technical person and am facing one issue,we are using MDM catalog for selecting the product and after selection the product is getting transfer to the SRM.
In SRM we have Quantity field available which is editable(we don't want to make it read only field),everything works fine if no one is changing the Quantity field which is coming from SRM MDM.
But when a requester is changing the quantity field of the product in SRM then the total price is not getting change accordingly in SRM.is there any way to fetch the price field again from SRM MDM once it is transferred to the SRM.
I know that before transferring the field to SRM if we change the quantity field there there is "RECALCULATE" button availabe to change the total price but after transferring the item whats is the procedure to change the Price if quantity is changed in SRM.
Note that Price field depends on the Quantity field in SRM MDM and it is maintained in MDM but not in SRM.
    Please Help me friends.

    Hi ,
I just want to clarify that after the product  toSRM it will check data from their price data maintained in SRM.
For yr problem just try these things and get back with yr results
    1. whatever quantity you are putting in SRM ,try with same quantity in mdm catalog and check what price is coming
If that is same then not a prob because may bbe  for that product multiple price maintained for different quantity
otherwise for sure SRM are fetching the price from their  storage.
    2. Instead of add an item from catalog  add same item from srm using the  product id ,supplier part number and other information
may be  at srm level they maintain different condition on item level.
Please try at yr end and get back with yr result.
(for validation of price from mdm there is a setting spro that when checked do validate the price from mdm catalog when ypu copy yr product in srm)
    Thanks,

  • Transfer attachment from SRM SHC to ECC PO

    Hi,
Im working on SRM 7.0.Classic scenario.I need to enable the transfer of attachments from SRM SC to R/3 PO.Can anyone explain the steps to achieve the above?
Also in case of extended classic scenario,is the attachment transferred automatically from the SRM Local PO to ECC PO?
    Thanks!
    regards,
    SRM Tech

    Hello SRMTECH,
You have to do some configuration settings in SPRO
    SPRO>Supplier Relationship Management>SRM Server>Cross-Application Basic Settings>Define Settings for Attachments.
We are also working for the same requirement. We have did following configuration / customization to achieve this.
    - Activated BADI "BBP_CREATE_BE_RQ_NEW" in SRM and set the indicator as follow:
    cs_ctrl_att-BE_DOC_TYPE = 'SRM'.
    cs_ctrl_att-BE_storage_cat = 'DMS_C1_ST'.
    cs_ctrl_att-TRANSFER_ACTIVE = 'X'.
    - In ECC Side T.code DC10 and defined document type for SRM with following
Add a New Document Type SRM (if not already exists). Set 'Use KPro', 'Version Assign' and 'Change
Docs'. Set the Internal and External Number Range (02 and 01). Use MCDOKZNR as Number Exit.
Ver No. Incr = 1 and Set the File Size (Usually 10000000 bytes).
Once the Document Type is created, define Object links to PO Item and Pur Req Item. Use - Screen
Number 247 and Screen Number 248 with Valuation Object of EBAN and EKPO for Objects EBAN
(PReq) and EKPO (PO) for Doc Type SRM.
After doing this changes we were able to transfer attachements but we are still facing one issue as we were not able to open that particular document in ECC / R3.
See related threads for more pointers:
Attachment transfer issue from Shopping cart to Purchase req in ECC

  • Vendor Sync Job not updating all vendors from ECC to SRM

The vendors are updated from ECC to SRM by batch job
    Z_SUP_BAT_VENDORSYNC (object BBP_VENDOR_SYNC).
This job is missing updation of some vendors from ECC to SRM.
Its happening on and of.We are updating these leftout vendors manually by TCODE BBPUPDVD and new left out vendors by BBPGETVD.
We have concluded that information in these vendors is replicated from
ECC to SRM GUI but it is not reflecting in SRM portal.
Reasons looks like when vendor data(Incoterms/Payment terms) is replicated from ECC to SRM an
addition row is created in vendor data in SRM which does have this information(Tcode ;BBPMAININT).
Though the information is present in second row in vendor data tab of vendor information when executed using TCODE BBPMAININT but Vendor information in portal is picked from 1st row and does not appear when try to shop.
Can anyone suggest how to resolve this?

    Hi Harleen,
The problem is because of the inconsistency in the tables BBPM_BUT_FRG0060 and BBPM_BUT_FRG0061.
From table BUT000 take the partner guid for the problematic vendor.
Enter the partner guid as input to the table BBPM_BUT_FRG0060  . check the number of available rows.
Now check the table BBPM_BUT_FRG0061 with the partner guid. check the number of rows.
You must see the inconsistent number of records in these 2 tables for the partner, like 1 row in BBPM_BUT_FRG0060  and 2 rows in BBPM_BUT_FRG0061.
Delete the invalid row in the table BBPM_BUT_FRG0061. That should resolve the problem you are facing.

  • Transfer supplier data from SRM to ECC

    Hi,
As far as I know if we are using ROS only, then we can only have the one way synchronization from ECC to SRM. Thus in the process, if vendor register in ROS engine, then when we want to create the ECC vendor, we must create the data in ECC manually, and also link it manually as well.I know this for sure in SRM 5.0
We are plannig to use SRM 7.0. Is this still the case? I also read somewhere that if we use SUS component, then t is possible for us to have vendor data in SRM synchronized to ECC.
    Is this true?
    Best regards,
    John

    Hi Nikhil,
So you're saying that even if SUS is implemented and SRM_SUCO_1 is activated we still have to create supplier manually in ECC?
I have checked the release note of SRM 7 and see this statement regarding SRM_SUCO_1:
Supplier master replication to SAP SRM and SAP ERP back-end systems
What does it mean by replication to SAP ERP back-end systems?
    Best regards,

  • The contract condition in the ECC affect the replicated PO from SRM

    Dear ,My expert :
       I work in SRM 7.0 SP03,ECS .
In the ESC , the PR is transfered from ECC system and generate one Shopping Cart in SRM syetem. The purchaser carry out sourcing ,and convert the Shopping Cart to PO(according to the contract ) .The PO will be replicated  into the ECC system .
In my scenario ,the contract is created in SRM ,and transferd into the ECC system .
I am confused that the PO will calculate the net price according the contract  in the ECC system .eg,Contract  in SRM  net price 100$   and the discount 10% ,so the PO net price is 90$ .But the replicated PO in ECC net price is 81$.
Is it the grogram error ?

    Hello Alex,
I do not make use of GOA, contract replication, so couldn't tell you from our system. Take a look at the following notes or search for your self service.sap.com/notes. If there is nothing i think you should start thinking of posting a customer message.
Note 1446993 - Contract discount pricing condition applied twice on SHP
1404246  Deleted contract conditions reloaded in PO change version
Note 1332076 - Multiple base price conditions results in error in contract
Note 1357383 - Duplicate conditions appear in PO created from SC

  • Attachments at header level from SRM BI/BID  to ECC PO

    Hello All,
Our landscape is SRM 5.0sp09 & backend ECC 6.0.
    SRM tech scenario - CLASSIC
SRM business scenario - Sourcing with Bid Invitation
We have set up DMS in ECC and are now able to transfer item level attachments from SRM BI and BID to ECC follow-on PO.
Our customer desires header level attachments since they want to avoid DMS maintainance.
We have checked this with sap OSS and the responce was---
<b>this is a limitation/desired behavior. SRM is not
passing the attachments as the same cannot be viewed at header level in
PO(as indicated by you). Hence only the item level attachments are
passed. I am not sure if the same is taken care in SRM 6.0.</b>
Our customer is still insisting for header level attachments.
    Can anybody give relevant inputs?

I am not sure about the exact technical details of the same. But i just know that SRM50 will not support this functionality. Sorry that i am not able to help you in this regard

    Thanks for your reply.
I have configured  Application Control Workflow correctly ( I am using Workflow without approvals for PO (BUS2201))
And in Rz20, I am getting below messege ("SHD : MTE class BBP_PO , Client 901 : No MTEs currently available*) for PO in Rz20 given below path
