From template to DVD - something goes wrong, but where to fix it?!?!

This one really has me stumped, because to test each variation in the workflow could take me to the end of time (which is 2012 apparently!). I do apologise in advance for the forthcoming length but its a bit of a complicated one.
In short, I have shot an HDV project, digitised into FCP as HDV 1080i and used apple pro res 422 (HQ) as the compressor.
All went as per usual, looking good, but then I decide to add a template, bought from a third party supplier (trusted and used before).
Used the template in Motion 3, exported a quick time .mov using pro res 422 (HQ) and added to my sequence. All looked fine, a bit choppy in the canvas but when encoded to .flv it looked good.
Today however, I have burnt to DVD for the first time, and the main HDV footage and project looks fine, but the template aspect looks wrong - it can best be described as flicker, like a very slight field dominance issue.
So, I have spent all of today trying different exports from Motion, different exports from FCP and different settings on compressor - all to no avail - the template designer is even stumped too!
The problem is I don't know at which point of the process I'm getting it wrong, on export from Motion, on export from FCP or in compressor.
Will filters such as de-flicker applied to the clip in FCP have any effect or once its exported from motion thats it - no changes can happen to it.
To add to this nightmare, the original template is 24 fps! I have exported it as 25fps, but I wonder if its even do-able at all with this starting point?
I would also put a clip online, but it looks fine online, its only got the issue on UK TV. The template is flying screens from right to left, with moving text, and they flicker as they move.

The first thing I would try is to export the template as Pro Res 422 NOT HQ. The HQ does nothing for HDV footage and may be over processing it. For sure it makes the file larger. Second, is the template an HD template or are you enlarging to fit? Try an export with the field dominance set to none. No easy answer I can see. Trial and error will take time for sure! Good luck,

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when trying to open CS2.

How do I restore my laptop, if something goes wrong?

I just got a new ThinkPad X230, but I didn't buy it itself, my sister got it for me. Now what's troubling me is that she didn't give me any thing other than the charger and the laptop itself. And my sister lives in US(She got the laptop from US only).
I plan on dual booting Windows 8 with ubuntu 12.04, just in case something goes wrong and I mess up the whole system, deleting/corrupting Windows 8, what am I supposed to do then? Can I take the laptop to Lenovo service center and get the Windows 8 back? Or, is there any option of procuring copy of drivers and Windows 8 directly from their service center?

You can make your own recovery media - in the case of Windows 8 it's a USB flash drive - or you can order a media set from support.

It's also possible to make full backups to a USB HDD using the strangely named "Windows 7 File Recovery" tools.

Something goes wrong

I have one number since I am in the UK, everytime I wanna top up online something goes wrong if it's not gonna be fixed when I will need to try it again I will use vodafone, T-mobile etc. and my O2 sim will go to the Thames

I don't know whats going wrong but...

XMP from camera raw files: ACR SDK yes – but where from?

the XMP docs state:
"… you should not pass a raw-format file directly to XMP Toolkit file handlers (XMPFiles), but should use the Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) SDK instead."

I'd love to, but where can I get the Adobe Camera Raw SDK? I couldn't find it. Am I blind?

ACR has little to do with getting your images into your computer; it's involved with opening your raw files (using development parameters you choose) into Photoshop to edit them, or to convert them to other formats.
Regarding Photoshop Elements integration with reading card images as part of your workflow, this isn't the best place to ask, as this forum is dedicated to the full version of Photoshop, which expects the user to control more of the low level operations himself/herself. It would be better to ask in the Photoshop Elements forum:

You are wright the index file is 308 KB.
And offcourse that I delete my files and documents is not an Iweb problem, but because my English is not that good, that I thougt I try to tell the whole story, and hope people can read trough the lines.
Why I didn't use Iweb to upload to the server is because the server company recommanded to use file zilla. And I am a nobody with this kind of things, so I did exactly what they tell me to do.
No, i did not make a backup of Iweb and the domain file, but reading other messages on this forum showed me that I can maybe try to make empty the cashfile (?)
and otherwise I have bad luck and have to make my website again. Offcourse I have a lot of examples from all the pages (copied from the local map to my USB stick) and my website is aprox. 15 Mb, (not so big) so it will cost me a few nigths.
But I'm still hoping on a miracle :-)

DVD/CD goes in but won't come out

I seemed to run into a common problem that I noticed a lot of people had. I looked at some of the solutions and thought there has to be an easier way, if my mac doesn't think there is a disc in there, and I can't make it eject.....what would be the easiest solution? I went to Itunes, selected one of my playlists and then selected burn to disc, since there is already a disc in there I figured it's either going to burn it, eject it or do nothing. On the screen popped up the message insert an empty disc, and the disc in my drive came out normally. We are back to normal, it hasn't happened since and I believe the problem occured because I deleted a file that was connected with the disc in question while it was in the mac. But there's a simple solution, hope it works for you too.

Yes I have had several tickets sent to the network team. Nothing useful has ever come of it.

Moving files from PC to MAC - what goes wrong?

And how can i get access to these files? Had to return my laptop at work (PC) and backed everything up to my external HD...brought it home, plug it in to my MAC, and all the important documents will not open. Some word documents that were in zip files seem ok...can these files that won't open be repaired? I tried the NEO program, same thing, they ask what to convert them to.
PLEASE GUYS, throw me some clues!
Could it be because the drive is in a win format? But, some other type files do work!

Does the drive mount when plugged into another PC?
How is the drive formatted? FAT32 or NTFS?
FAT32 is the most compatible PC format (it can be read and written to). However, it is an older format for devices. NTFS is the newer preferred format for big hard drives on Windows. The caveat is that other systems (OS X or Linux) can generally only read from these drives. In my experience, devices formatted with NTFS are also more troublesome if there is any sort of error in the filesystem that has not been corrected.
Your best bet is to format the drive as FAT32 in Windows and recopy the files again to the hard drive. It should mount with no problems when plugged into your Mac.

I have 2 laptops, 2 desktops and an I Phone all are supposed to be authorized but it tells me that one isn't and can't because I am used all 5 of my authorizations. I have a theory of what is going wrong but I am unsure how to fixe it.

I need to free up an authorization for one of my current computers; I am using 4 but it tells me I am using 5.

i've got a macbook pro that is about 3 years old..running 10.6.8
2.4Ghz intel core 2 duo with 4GB ram
its been running fine until a week ago
i've been getting the color wheel quite frequently and been having
to force a reboot by holding down the start button
i can't seem to isolate the problem, but i just kind of cleaned out
applications i don't use any more
ran some utilities like onyx and cocktail
has not really helped
i'm wondering if there is another diagnostic tool that i can run somewhere?
also is there a crash log that i can print out to try and analyze what happend
at the last freeze up? there is nothing i the crash log inside the library folder right now

How do I add a space to the toolbar in Firefox 29.0? I can grab a space from empty areas and move it around, but where do I find a "space" icon to ADD a space?

It has been useful in past versions of Firefox to be able to add (a) space(s) between icons on the toolbar in order to create groups of icons and/or separate icons by class or function. In Firefox 29.0, I discovered how to "grab" (click and drag) a space from open areas on the toolbar and move it to another part of the toolbar. But how can I add spaces to the toolbar? In past versions, there used to be a space icon in the customize menu set that could be dragged to the toolbar for that purpose.
