Front and rear audio - KT3(original)

hi, the ominous 1st post.
i have a case that has frony panel headphone and microphone sockets as most do nowadays and i was wondering if it is possible to have the rear port for speakers used by the speakers and the front for whenever i need headphones at the same time, as at the moment i can only have one or the other port working.
any help would be appreciated and instuctions would be good too  :P
cheers
matt

Hi,
Do you mean you want 2 speaker operation front and back at the same time?
If so, you could tap the front of the jumpers that close 5-6 and 9-10 while they are closed too....
And put the grond wire to ground....
That should give you the same ouput on both connectors....

I'll answer you here, as I believe it may be helpful to other users as well... You will need to download the latest drivers for Li've! 24-bit under Vista, which are available [url="http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK=& nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+Vista+32-bit&region=&Product_Name=Li've%2+24-bit&Product_ID=035&modelnumber=&driverlang=033&OS= 26&drivertype=0&x=29&y=0">here[/url]. These add AudioConsole, which allows you to select CMSS options for your soundcard.

On Windows XP this was never the case, for surround sound I would leave it in Dolby mode.
This is indeed strange... In ProLogic mode, as I already said, it'sproduces?surround sound from the 2 front channels but this is not the same as discrete sound, which is eventually 6-channel analog or Dolby Digital. It really all depends on the content you are playing. Also note, that a lot of the Dolby movies available on the web, may use AC-3 format, but may still be stereo only. On this content ProLogig will produce nice surround sound. (Media Player Classic states clearly how many channels are actually available)? If you however playback a true 6-channel AC-3 movie and you have ProLogic enabled, you will most probably not hear any dialogue, or just its echoe... (Assuming that you leave the AC-3 decoding to happen on the soundcard, which will then send the signal through the 6 analog channels)? How is your soundcard connected to the receiver? SPDIF/Optical or only analog??

  • Front and Rear Audio - Possible?

I've been fairly frustrated lately because my computer seems to be behaving randomly.
Since the beginning of the summer I had my computer set up to play audio through both a front panel headphone jack on my case and the rear ports.  Now things have somehow magically changed and I can't get audio to come out of the rear ports.
I have my front panel jumpers connected to the JAUDIO2 jumpers (specifically, ground to 2, right signal to 5, and left signal to 9 - the only other connectors I have from the front panel are mic signal and mic ground).
In theory, hooking up the front panel disables the rear audio ports (because 5/6, 9/10 aren't shorted) but in the past I had my rear speakers hooked up to the ports on the back of my computer and my headphones hooked up to the front panel and could use whichever one I wanted. Now I can't get the rear ports to work at all (possibly because I don't have jumpers around to short 5/6 and 9/10 but I was hoping that it wouldn't matter)
Any ideas on how to fix this?
    System details:
    K7N420 - bios v2.6
    Athlon 1700XP
    NForce Unified Drivers - 1.13
    Windows 2000 Professional

    puuj,
My case's front audio is a pass-thru from the back on-board panel, so i don't have a special connector.  I believe Matrix and a few others have a connector directly to onboard....
You should leave those jumpers shorted (JA2).

  • Pulseaudio split front and rear audio

    Hello fellow archers!
I'm trying to have to separate sinks so that I am able to route some applications to my speakers, using the audio jacks from the back of my case, while other apps should play in my headphones using the jack from the front panel.
Right now what I hear in the speakers(back) I also hear in my headphones (front)
I have pulse audio installed and I tried this Splitting front/rear from the wiki.
So in my /etc/pulse/default.pa I added:
    load-module module-remap-sink sink_name=speakers remix=no master=alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo channels=2 master_channel_map=front-left,front-right channel_map=front-left,front-right
    load-module module-remap-sink sink_name=headphones remix=no master=alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo channels=2 master_channel_map=rear-left,rear-right channel_map=front-left,front-right
    Running pacmd list-sinks lists this:

Either sound on both devices (headset and speakers),
or no sound (even though pavucontrol shows some activity).
    Anyone found any solution yet?

  • Split signals between front and rear ports?

just wondering if it is possible to split two different feeds between the front and rear ports on an Xfi.
for example game sound through the speakers and then Ventrilo/Teamspeak via the front audio jacks on my case(as the Xfi has the header for front audio).

Sorry to bump an old post, but this is exactly what I have been looking for.
Does anyone know if this is attainable on the Pci-e X-fi Titanium card with an Intel HD audio front panel connected to the card?
    Thanks!

  • S750 Front and Rear Channels failed

My new (3weeks) Gigaworks S750 System's front and rear channels have failed. Only the side/center/sub channels play back sound.
For the reference the sub still plays the LFE on those channels.
If there is a fix, I will do it. If this is a defect, I am going to Logitech. Buying a $500 speaker system implies it should work perfectly.

    Hi,
I hav got the same problem with my system. Check if you have put the Speaker Setup in 7.1 mode or not. To do this,
Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Click Audio Tab > Click Advanced button under Sound Playback to open Advance Audio Properties window.
Click Speakers tab > In Speaker Setup, select the type of speakers. In your case, select "7.1 Surround Sound Speakers". Try this and let me know if your problem got solved.

  • How can I tell if fan between front and rear bay is working?

    hi all
How can I tell if fan between front and rear bays is working? I put my hand behind G4 MDD to feel for air flow and it seems minimal. I hear a wind tunnel sound but I feel more heat than air flow. Please help as I don't want my Mac to overheat
    Thanks, Web dude

You can run your mac with the side "door" open - down flat to the right of the computer. You should be able to see the fan do (or not do) its thing.
I have done this (run the mac with the side open) many times. For safety, I turn the mac off before opening / closing the door.

I cannot toggle between front and rear cameras on my iPad 4; Any ideas?

Make sure IOS is updated to latest version
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings

  • How to change the capture resolution of CaptureDevice and toggle between front and rear camera

Hi. I'm using Visual Studio 2013, and the Windows Phone App template. I'm using the Microsoft.Devices / CaptureVideo API to capture video. I now want to set the resolution to capture the video in a specific(available) resolution. How do I do that?
    Code snippet reference to API:
    CaptureVideo vcDevice = CaptureDeviceConfiguration.GetDefaultVideoCaptureDevice();
and I also want to put a button there to toggle between front and rear camera. If I click the button, and the rear camera is currently active, the front camera must become active and vice versa. How do I do that with this API?

  • No sound from Front and Rear Center Speakers

    Hi all,
I have a Creative 6.1 6700 speaker set + Creative Sound blaster Audigy 2 ZS.
Recently I have noticed that I am not getting any sound from my Front and Rear center speakers. The sound is being diverted to the sub woofer. Wehn i run checks the sound comes from the sub woofer rather then the speaker. I have checked all connection and checked all wiring. All Speaker are working fine and none is dead.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and then application but still no good. I am unable to figure out why this might be happening. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also any idea why does the creative driver keep on crashing. It is one of the most unstable driver that I have seen. I have the latest driver and usually keep it up to date but still it does keeps on giving problems regularly.
I have to say that till now the creative product has been a headache for me but I would have to make do with what I have. So all help needed here really.
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hi Guys,
I would really appreciate if somebody could reply to my query. Its been very frustating here.
In the meanwhile I have done the following troubleshooting more :
    1) Took a head set and connected to all ports at the back of the sound card. Sound is coming from there.
    2) Went ahead and removed the creative drive and the application.
    3) did a search in the registry with the keyword as "Creative". Removed all entries that were found.
    4) Reinstaled the latest drivers and the application.
    5) Tried he card ina different PCI slot.
But everything has been to no avail. There is still no sound from the rear and front center speakers. Its really driving me nuts.
It seems as if the souncard is passing the signal to the sub woofer but it is not directing it to both these channels.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hello,
I will help you moving this thread into windows phone forum.
For you question, we can use DeviceInformaiton class to find all webcams and then get the front or back webcam.
     Code looks like the following.
    var devices = await Windows.Devices.Enumeration.DeviceInformation.FindAllAsync(Windows.Devices.Enumeration.DeviceClass.VideoCapture);
    Windows.Devices.Enumeration.DeviceInformation backCameraDeviceInformation =
    devices.FirstOrDefault(x => x.EnclosureLocation != null &&
    x.EnclosureLocation.Panel == Windows.Devices.Enumeration.Panel.Back);

  • *** Front and Rear Firewire 400 Ports Share Same Bus? ***

I am wondering if the front and rear Firewire 400 ports are just linked together on the same bus, or do they connect to the CPU on separate channels.
    - thanks for any wisdom.
    Ted.

You are assuming that the FireWire controller is capable of something I've never seen confirmed, that there is 240MB/sec. And there isn't. I've created RAIDs on multiple FW PCI cards. I've used ATTO SCSI adapters.
And one thing I know about the old G4 was there is a maximum of 240MB/sec for ALL PCI slots that gets shared, not for each PCI slot, though there are adapters like FirmTek's Serial ATA SeriTek controllers which tend to "hog" all the bandwidth and limits the performance of or number of other controllers.
PCI-X was suppose to get past that by providing two buses, one @ 100MHz and the other @ 133MHz that keep them from 'stealing' the others.
PCI Express is an improvement (PCIe 2.0 is beginning to show up) but rarely do buses perform as well as they are suppose to on paper.
That can mean front side bus, memory bus, as well. The G5 memory bus never lived up to its expectations or white paper potential. The Mac Pro seems to have its own memory bandwidth limitations.
And I am not trying to cover up anything. Shed a little light, if not sunshine. More from testing and having talked to developers rather than an engineering background.

  • Anyway to swap front and rear speake

Not sure if this should be here or in the speaker section.
I have an Audigy 2005, and Inspire 6. speakers.
The way I have my room set up, I have my computer on one side of the room, and my TV on the exact other.
I want to be able to have it so that the sound is coming from the front no matter what device I use.
ie When using the computer; speakers on that side of the room are treated as front, and when watching TV, I want to somehow switch it so the speakers on that side are treated as the front speakers.
i.e front left <-> rear right, front right <-> rear left, front centre <-> rear centre
Hope that you can understand this, I almost confused myself..
    Thank you
    Craig

I _think_ that you can set it up in one of the consoles so that it will switch it around, for further details though you'd need someone who has used the consoles
other than that all I can suggest is swapping either the speaker cables in the sub or the front and rear minijacks in the soundcard itself

  • Front and Rear Artwork

Is there any way of displaying both the front and rear album covers in iTunes and can it be used with the cover flow application?
    Thanks

    AndEvs wrote:
If you can add both, is there a way of switching between them?
Not on the fly. But you can swap around artwork when you do a get info.
For example, if you have a song with two pieces of artwork attached, the first one is shown in coverflow. If you do a Get Info on the track, go to the artwork window, you can grab artwork #2 and drag and drop it into the #1 position and now that will show up in cover flow.
Other things you can do is the artwork that is first for the first track will represent the full album in coverflow. But, you can add alternative artwork to the other tracks or arrange them so different tracks have a different first artwork. When the song plays it will show which ever art work is first.
So for front and back artwork, you could arrange so that half the songs show the back and the other half show the front. And the first one will dictate what is shown for the group.
