Front Audio Jack is of pool quality cosmetically

Hello, I have a problem with my Front Audio Jack. When I recevied my TS-P700, I noticed that my audio jack was on abnormal position. I adjusted its position, but it's still hard when I insert my earphone cord, I feel jammed. And tis disturbed by bezel. I wanna change a part, but I'm in South Korea now, service center refused my request cause my TS P700 is from USA. So, this is my question. 1. Can I exchange a front panel part with Lenovo USA via Air mail service? If it is possible, How? 2. I'd like to know its fru number of front panel. I found some fru number, but it is not exactly(04X2728, 03T8788) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For reference before adjust its position I have adjusted, tis still disturbing.   3 pictures above are normal state. Yes, it looks pretty good.I found it from review site. Thank you!

I'm a little confused if your issue is that you think the jack itself is damaged, or whether it's simply an alignement issue of the front panel assembly and the front bezel.  If it's an alignment issue, I'm not sure replacing the front panel assembly is really going to help you much.
The front panel assembly (which includes the front audio jack) is certainly replacable.  My records show that FRU for that front panel assembly is 03T8788, but it would be good to confirm that with service.
I'm not sure I can help with your first question.  Sounds like you would need to consider purchasing the FRU directly if service is refusing your request, but I'm not familiar with all the details.
Replacing the front panel is not terribly difficult in P700 (this is a nightmare of a task on P900), but you'll want to pay special attention to how the cables are routed as you're disassembling the system (the motherboard must come out) to ensure that you get everything back together correctly.

  • HP m7160n front audio jack problem

I am running Vista Home on my m7160n Media Center PC.  I used to be able to plug in my headphones to the front audio jack and it would cut out the rear speaker output.  Now it doesn't!  I have gone into sound properties and is IS set to turn off rear jack, when the system detects a plug in the front jack.  The headphones still work, but i need the speakers off when using the headphones.  I hope thats enough information.

    Hi MrBassMan26,
That is odd and sounds like the jack-detect isn't working right. Did this issue just start happening? Did it occur after installing anything, even a Windows Update?
If it just started happening, you could try running a Windows System Restore to an earlier point when it worked properly. Or you could trying re-installing the sound driver or even installing an updated sound driver. That should take care of it, and if it doesn't you may need to make some configuration changes in one of the Sound properties (Windows or Realtek).
I see that you have Vista, did you by chance upgrade to Vista from XP?
Try installing the Vista sound driver from Realtek: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&Down...
Let us know how it goes.

  • Front audio jack

The contacts on my front audio jack are no more tight enough so when I plug any device (phones or external speaker) I have to fiddle a lot before making them work. Is it there any way to tighten the contacts without bringing the computer to an Apple repair center? Only the right panel can be removed and the jack is on the left, and apparently it seems there is no way to reach it.
I would like not to remain without the computer for a long time, as with a pair of tweezers the problem could be very rapidly solved.
    Thanks for help,
    Claudio

I was almost sure it was impossible, nevertheless I have tried to receive a solution.
Anyway many thanks for your suggestion, I will follow it, as sending the computer to a service center will cost a lot of money and time.
    Regards,
    Claudio

  • The front audio jack on my mac pro just STOPPED working

I use my front jack ALL the time.
It stopped working from one second to the next.
confirmed that it is NOT the headphones.
    checked preferences, seems ok.
    any thoughts?

when i wiggle the front jack i get the sound back.
With that stement I would say it is a faulty jack except for the fact that you say it happens in the back jack too.  I suppose a fault in one could affect the other.  Other than replacing the faulty jack I see no solution.

  • Front panel audio jack is not working on K9N Neo V2

My front panel audio jack is not working on K9N Neo V2. I check the JAUD1 cable and it appears to be connected to the front panel audio jack. My soundcard driver cannot detect any gadgets when I plug it in the front panel. My audio drivers and BIOS are up to date.  Is there any known solution to this? My computer is only a few months old and I have not tried the front audio jack until recently. I'm on Vista home premium btw.
Also, I've got another problem, my processor is AMD 64x2 4400+ overclocked to 2.63Ghz. I've been using that clock value ever since I built this computer and stress tested the processor and found that it would not cause any problems like hanging or overheating. However, I recently decided the need for AMD's Cool & Quiet technology and enabled it. It caused BSODs every few days or per week that didn't happen before. I tried it with the default clock value and it still causes BSODs. Can someone help me?

Thanks. Its ironic that disabling it actually enables it.
It has to day with the front panel audio wiring of your case.  How many wires are there that can be connected to the board's pin header?

    Sound quality isn't very good
Can you be more descriptive?  Is the quality better if you plug the headphone into one of the jack at the back panel?  (Also, make sure you tell the Realtek HD Audio Manager, that a headphone is connected (and not regular speakers).

  • High pitched (~15KHz) tone from front headphone jack

I often use headphones plugged into the the front audio jack while using Final Cut Pro. After playing audio, I will often hear a very annoying tone somewhere around 15 KHz. Playing any audio will make the tone go away. Sometimes it doesn't come back, but it always eventually comes back. I can't wait till I get old and lose my hearing so I don't have to deal with this stupid tone.

I had problems like this on my G5 tower (which I have since upgraded to a Mac Pro). I purchased a USB sound device to plug my headphones into. There are myriad options out there from M-Audio and other companies. Cost can be anywhere from ~$75 on up. If you are interested in this, I can post more info. The nice part about this route is that you will get much higher sound quality than the headphone jack on the computer because these external devices often have high quality DACs (digital to analog converter) chips.

  • Front audio port not working please help..

    Hey guys,
My HP Pavilion DV2275ea front audio jack does not work, I have tried many different headsets as the mic jack works just fine. I have tried reinstalling audio drivers (Conexant High-Definition Audio Chip) and still nothing. I have look at the support advice posted to no avail. Is there anything else i could try?
A friend said it could be turned off in the bios but i am not able to get in as i don't know the password for the phoenix bios, could this be true?
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Well from looking at a jpeg of your board the front usb headers are laid out just like my board. Each set of headers support 2 usb ports each. That gives you the 4 in the rear and 4 for the front.
Now as to the pinouts, 1+3+5+7+9 is 1 set and 2+4+6+8+10  is the 2nd set, with pins 1 and 2 being the 5V power pins. Pins 7 and 8 are your grounds.  3 and 4 are the usbo- and usb1-. Pins 5 and 6 are usbo+ and usb1+. Pin 9 is the "key" pin and may actually be missing by intention. Key 10 is sometimes called the usboc pin and normally isn't used. On some boards you don't want anything connected to pin 10, even if you have to snip the wire going to it and terminate the end of the wire with insulating tape.
Your motherboard manual should show you the pin layout.

  • Front audio not detected

Hi, I have a msi p35 neo 2 for quite some time now but didn't had the opportunity to use the front panel from my chieftec chase.Today I've tried the front panel but for my surprise alc888 didn't detected nor my headphone or the mic.If I disable front audio jack detection the mic and the headphones work but it doesn't switch off the back audio when I insert the headphones.
How could I solve this issue?
    BTW I'm on windows 7rc  x64 bit.

Not sure if the drivers are any compatible to Win 7 RC yet.

  • TX2000 no sound from front headphone jacks

Hi everyone, Ive started this because I have a major problem with my pavilion tx2000. it is not outputting any sound from the front headphone jacks, it was working okay on windows 7 64 bit but one good day without any aparent reason it stopped working I mean, I used to plug my headphones and immediatly the laptop speakers shout and I coud hear music from any of the two front headphone jacks but one day I did it and the speaker didnt shout and I couldnt hear anything from the headphones, assuming that the headphones were the problem I plugged another headphones that I knew were working fine with the same result.
I was using windows 7 default drivers then I updated the drivers from the official realtek site (I thnk version R267) with no effect, then I installed linux and plugged the headphones, to my surprise audio were outputting from both, the laptop speakers and the headphones, after some configurations I managed linux to output audio only from the headphones but I have to change it manually if I wanted the laptop speakers to work, I then reinstalled windows 7 64 with the updated driivers from realtek, to my surprise realtek audio manager will pop up a message saying "you just plugged and audio device" BUT ONLY IF I PLUG SOMETHING TO THE MICROPHONE JACK!!!!! otherwise it won´t say anything even if I plug my headphones to any of the both headphone jacks, my assumption is that somehow the headphone jacks lost its sensibility and are not detectng the headphones and as so they wont route the audio signal through them, also Ive read on forums that I could change something in the realtek audio manager as "disable front audio jacks" or something but i can´t see that option anywhere in any of the various versions of drivers I´ve tried on the various OSes Ive tried, Also in some point I did notice a red ligth coming out from the first headphone jack, I assumed it was spidf signal or something.
What im thiking is that this is hardware related, that somehow the jacks lost sensibility and cant detect my headphones, the question here is this: I dont mind routing the audio from the laptop speaker to the headphone jacks manually (I mean with some script or something), but is there any way to do so In windows, In linux I could but in windows I just cant seem too get it to work without windows detecting my headphones automatically, or do I have to change the whole front panel in my laptop, it is offcourse out of warranty and I don´t want to keep spending money on this as this is quite an old machine wich Ive invested way too much.
    THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE.

NO sound from front headphone jacks.
    No hardware changes made.

    Oh and one more thing:
In the Audio tab in Sounds and Audio Devices in Control Panel, it has this option of
    "Use only default devices"
Is it OK to check that?
Does that mean that if I choose Audigy 2 for the sound playback and etc. options, it would "lock" the default as Audigy 2?
Because as I said, I don;t want to go back and forth switching from onboard to Audigy over and over.
I just want Audigy as my sound, and be able to use the headphone jack on the front bevel of my computer.

  • Audio Jack in front not working.

Hi, when I bought my HP Pavilion p6823w Desktop PC, from walmart I hooked it up correctly.  When I booted for the first time, I got a Blue Screen of Death, and the problem system repair said it was my IPOD cord was plugged into a USB port.  Without the IPOD hooked up to it.  I couldn't boot up, so I ran the system repair.  the reason I didn't take it back to Wal-mart was because it worked fine without the Internet when I booted up again.  I also bought a Belkin Wireless N Adapter for my Router.  It worked fine with the internet.
Please read the whole thing, because this is all relative to why my audio jack isn't working. Thank you.
Until I started using the internet for long periods of time, I received problems.
For instance, it would disconnect me from the internet without telling me on the bottom side bar, it would tell me it's still working, when I keep getting web pages that are telling me the Internet Server is not found.
Another instance, when playing League of Legends, my latency would go up to 10,000. This is not normal.
The third instance, it would let me still play the game, but have high latency and lag out eventually.
The fourth instance, I cannot download any files on the computer anymore, even if the internet is connected.
The fifth instance, my monitor when it goes to sleep, will only display the background image, without any icons.
This must be a hardware problem, if the monitor won't load the desktop icons or start menu.
To make it work again, I have to turn it off manually with the button, and turn it back on again. And then it works.
I didn't notice this problem till after the 30 days of returning policy to walmart, because I turned off my computer when I was done using it.
The sixth instance, I can disable the network adapter, and re-enable it to make the internet work for a very short period of time, with the same errors of not being able to display web sites.
The seventh instance, I reformatted my computer because I thought it was a virus that norton couldn't find. It still had the same problems, but after the first few days it started up again.
The eighth instance, I received w WinSAT repair, because my game was freezing completely for about one second or two seconds.
The ninth instance, I contacted HP Support VIA Phone, and they could not fix the problem.
I enabled High Performance Power Supply.
    I reset the IP Address.
    I cleaned my temporary files.
I ran Norton Anti-Virus, found nothing.
I ran Hijack This, a program to see what program files are being used.
I ran HITMAN PRO. Found nothing.
I ran firmware updates for my router, is was up to date.
I changed the settings to WEP after, to see if it was the router.
I checked all my other computers to see if it was the internet, it is not the ISP.
I also changed the network name, so the interference with temporary files, wouldn't interfere.
I used other browsers, and had the same problem.
Some websites would load halfway, and need a refresh.
I have not opened the desktop.
I tried exchanging the Belkin Wireless N Adapter, I had an older one I bought before, and when I plug it in, it doesn't recognize the device.
I re-plugged the new one in the USB port, and it worked for a few minutes before returning to the same errors of Internet Server Not Found.
I am confused, because it's not the Wireless N Adapter. My browser, my ISP, my router, my USB port, because the other's work and so does this one.
My reformat didn't work, and I experience this problem everyday, but now downloading files doesn't work even when all other web pages load. This means, there is something wrong with my hardware.  Because the other browsers won't download either.
I'm also using my laptop right now, to make this post, so my internet on all my other computers works fine.
I'm interested if there is a problem with the hardware when I bought the computer, because there is no real fix for this problem.  Each time I get on the phone with TECH SUPPORT, they ask if it's working. And sometimes it does, but then after a few hours it goes back to the same errors. I can't keep calling Tech Support, telling them it's not working when it starts working randomly, then going back to the same errors. Please help!
Also, TECH SUPPORT ignored my monitor problem.  They didn't say anything about how to fix this problem. I hate having to turn off the monitor and turn it back on because this is  a brand new computer. I still have the receipt, warranty and I'm tired of explaining the problem to different people from TECH SUPPORT.
Also, my audio jack in the front doesn't work.

    Hi,
Did you burn a set of the HP Recovery Disks?  You mentioned that the reformat failed. Is that correct? Did you try a full HP Recovery?  If not, then backup your data to external media.  Boot up to the HP Blue screen and first try diagnostics and see how that goes.  If that is successful, then boot again up to the HP blue screen and try Recovery.
If you don't have a set of the HP Recovery Disks and the Recovery process fails from the HP blue screen then you need to order a set of the HP Recovery Disks from HP. HP Recovery Disks.

  • No sound from front or read audio jack

I am using an 810-230qe Phoenix Envy with WIndows 8.1 Pro. I am unable to hear sound from the front headphone jack or the rear audio jack. Speakers also do not work from the rear jack. I have an HDMI cable connected to my monitor, however, I went into the NVIDA controls and disabled sound for that.
I have uninstalled the driver and then reinstalled. No luck with either jack. Headphones work in all other devices. I have even tried different headphones. This is a new computer, just a few days old and this is the first time I tried to use sound.
    Any ideas?

I understand you are having audio issues on your HP ENVY Phoenix 810-230qe CTO Desktop PC. You stated that you disabled the audio on your monitor does that mean it worked before you disabled it? Has the audio ever worked on this and is just not working now? If you go to the control panel and click on Sounds what devices do you see there and are they Enabled or Disabled?

  • K9VGM-V with no audio on front headphone jack

A week ago I put this MoBo in a eMachines Model T6216 that the original MoBo went up in smoke. I just now plugged the headphones into the front panel headphone jack and it doesn't work. When i go to the control panel and look in the sound tab it says that the headphones are not plugged in. Do I have a bad MoBo or is there a problem with my drivers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can manually disable the Rear Panel Jack that your speakers are plugged into via the Realtek HD Audio Manager. Simply klick onto the image that represents the corresponding audio jack.

Also when I check the audio devices the headphones doesn't show up when they are plugged in.
As was stated before, AC/97 front panel wiring is not 100% compatible with the Intel HD Audio/Azalia standard.  Disabling Automatic Front Panel Jack Detection of course has the consequence that your headphones are not automatically detected.  Stuff that is not detected do not appear as connected.  However, disabling the detection feature is the only way to get your front panel jack to work in spite of the incompatibility between AC/97 and Azalia specifications.

I also have an old Creative 4.1 speaker system (been around for about 10 years from system to system)
It worked flawlessly....until.....this morning my daughter was watching NetFlix and she plugged in the headphones.  The sound muted the rears (as it is supposed to do) and sound came through the headphones (front jack) as it was supposed to do.  She said some popup appeared to which she didn't read and just hit OK (doh!).  Now I am unable to get any sound out of the rear speakers when unplugging the headphones.  After much playing around, if I un-check  "disable front panel jack detection" in the MSI Audio Manager then the sound once again works from the rear, however (as can be expected) it doesn't mute it when the headphone jack is re-plugged in. Strange, thing is that this worked before this morning.  It's like it is always detecting the headphones and therefore mutes the rears.

    Additional information.
I also have to set:  "Separate all input jacks as independent input devices"      in the MSI Audio Manager (Device advanced settings) in order to get my microphone to work too.
What the heck happended?  What's wrong?
    MSI, got any ideas?
