Front audio with PCI sound card?

Well, the front audio on my Antec P160W worked perfectly with the integrated sound, but I changed to my SoundBlaster Audigy Player because of the HORRIBLE audio quality. Now the front audio ports don't work. What do I need to do to make it work again? I'm not going back to the integrated.
At first I thought that I had to put the connectors for the front audio on the sound card, but the manual of it doesn't show any of those features.

I was wondering that myself. The only thing I think you could possibly do is have both the onboard and the pci sound card enabled and use the onboard sound just for the headphones. I have no tried this yet as I do have the cables connected to the mobo but I have the onboard sound disabled.

Dv6265us connexant PCI sound card + windows 7 = Not working

So I'm here becuase I can't find a driver on my own. I've scoured the internet for hours, finding very little to help with my issue. So here goes...
I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 (Dv6265us), and ever since I installed window 7, Windows cannot figure out what drivers to install for the PCI sound card. The best I've found so far says this:
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it"
"Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio"
"If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software."
Now here's the funky part...everywhere I've found information on my laptop, it says I have a Conexant PCI sound card. If I'm wrong I would love for someone to tell me; better yet, a link to a download to actually be able to use the PCI sound card. Right now the card is under other devices and is listed as "PCI Device".
Now the Link I've provided from the conexant site will tell you this under PC Audio Support - Windows® 7,

We provide customized audio drivers to our customers, which include major computer manufacturers globally. At the request of these manufacturers, Conexant does not provide end-user support or drivers for PC audio products. I tried calling HP support, but they wouldn't even answer my yes or no question... "Do you have audio drivers for my laptop that will allow me to hear sound?" Instead of saying yes or no, I was told that I needed to pay fifty to one-hundred dollars;....fifty dollars for a one time fee of telephone service, or one-hundred for the year. I even went as far as asking..."if you can't fix my problem, do I get a refund?" I was told no...so here I am. I've had problems before with hp...but this is rediculous, and whats worse is from the way things look, Connexant was told NOT to support their own product, or provide drivers for windows 7 by their customer(HP). I realize everyone is hurting for money, but **bleep**, this is a new low...

To answer your question, there are no windows 7 drivers for that model notebook. The notebook was designed for Windows 2000, Windows xp and windows vista.
This is one of the issues with upgrading the OS on a computer before checking the specs of the hardware.
I do understand the frustration but it would be more beneficial to revert back to the original OS that the notebook came with. That is what the HP support desk will have you do to prove functionality of the notebook should you have paid for the Diagnostic Support.

I installed my M-Audio Delta 1010 sound card on this PC but ALSA doesn't get it to work.

I have an m-audio delta 1010lt as well, it's a great card but it sits in my closet now because I "upgraded" to a motherboard that doesn't have legacy PCI slots. However, I'm pretty sure I remember the card working for me and being "plug and play" under arch with kernel 3.3 or newer. So some things I would consider:
Try checking IRQs, make sure nothing is overlapping.
Try using the LTS kernel, to see if it is kernel related, since ice1712 module should ship with almost any kernel => 2.6.26.
How many watts is the power supply? Sometimes insufficient wattage can result in drivers failing to load.
What other sound cards do you have installed? Have you tried blacklisting all of the other cards in your system using alsa-base.conf? This is a bit extreme, but might be a useful troubleshooting measure, as some people have had issues in the past with alsa indexing mutiple cards to the same slot number

Sound Blaster Live 24-bit PCI Sound Card and Creative Sound Blaster PCI Card not detect

Ok here is my problem. I bought a Creative Sound Blaster PCI sound card a while back and it was working fine but recently when I would boot up my computer and try to play music say off of Winamp it says Bad DirectSound Driver. When I check device manager it shows no sound card there and in sounds and audio devices it says no audio device. Now my brother believed this to be a card fault so we went to Frys and bought a Sound Blaster Li've 24-bit PCI card. I uninstalled the old drivers and installed this new one but yet it's the same problem. My assumption was that Windows XP had something conflicting so I reinstalled the OS. It found the card and I installed the latest drivers?off of this site but now it does the same thing yet again with a fresh install of Windows XP. The card has been in all 3 of my PCI slots and it will detect it for a moment but then acts like as if the card was never installed. Like I never installed a sound card into the computer. The onboard audio has been disabled for a while now but I do not know what the problem could be. I did Scan for hardware changes but it doesn't show up. Sometimes when the card is detected if I do scan for hardware changes and the card is there it will just magically disappear from the device manager as if it was never there. Even when I try to load music and I see the card is detected it will not play the music and ends up locking up Winamp to the point that sometimes will go BSOD. Now I would really like to find out what the issue is because I am planning this weekend to swap out my motherboard with a duplicate board to see if that will end up fixing the problem but I want to find out if there is any other way to fix this issue. Check the connector on the card and get a eraser (Pen eraser is better) and give it a good cleaning. The connector might have alot of build-up on it and you can see it by a dark yellowy colour. I cleaned my graphics card and ram connectors after they got alot of the build-up on them. On a older computer my graphics stopped working and this fixed it. Also I went away for a while (like a month) and came back to see that my puter didn't display anything. Opened it up and saw that the graphic card had alot of corrosion? on the card connector and in the slot. Does that if you computer is turned of for a long time. Had a heck of time trying to clean the slot out. One other thing that it could be is the sound card is faulty. I had an audigy 2 and it died a while back . It picks it up and then try and use it computer freezes and the after restart it's not there anymore. Hope it's not that problem. Hope this gives you something to go by.

Pci sound card and beats together?

I have an HPE h8-01280t with built in beats audio. I'd like to install a Creative Labs pci audio card so that beats will play through my computer speakers while I can output simultaneous pci audio to another device (beats in analog, pci in digital output). Can I do this?

I doubt if that can be done. Cause once you install a pci sound card, the integrated sound gets disabled.
You cannot get output from both.

Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite with PC Sound card?

Hi all,
I'm new to LabVIEW, so please bear with me.
I would like to take some basic network measurements of a single channel hardware audio device. I have a PCI sound card which I was able to play sound files and receive input with using the sound2 Simultaneous_Sound_IO.vi. I'm wondering if it's possible and how difficult it would be to integrate this VI with the VIs associated with the Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite? I've downloaded the trial version of the Measurement Suite and it appears to include all of the measurements I need (frequency response, THD, dynamic range), however they're all designed to work with NI DAQ hardware.
If it is possible, could someone point me in the right direction as far as integrating the two, or even post or direct me towards existing VIs if there are any?

A quick peek into the addon show me waveforms as input and the sound vis have a waveform output.
OK I didn't look at the examples and by habbit ignore the express vis . But maybe you just want to use a program instead of programming your application?

I am getting no signal to my dj mixer using m-audio firewire audiophile sound card connected to my mac book pro using Traktor Dj software can anyone help?
The firewire port reads the dj software and I can hear music playing through the sound card when I plug my headphones into it but there is no signal to the hardware (my dj mixer).
I have reset the firewire by turning off my mac book pro for a few hours and can see the sound card device in the fire wire section after clicking on the apple icon on the top left corner of my mac.
My dj mixer works on another mac computer with the same soundcard and different firewire cable.

yes, it could be due to nearly anything listed in your kernel extensions, startup items, launch daemons, launch agents, or user items above. Please check all of your installed third-party software to make sure that the versions which are installed on your MacBook Pro are compatible with Mavericks; uninstall every software package which isn’t Mavericks-compatible. After you’ve done that, boot into Safe mode, and see if you still get the beach ball of doom there. If it doesn’t appear there, restart normally and see if it appears then.

CUPC - "Phone Error. Could not place call because you have no audio device or sound card."

Periodically throughout the day, CUPC will not make or receive calls, but instead presents a dialog box with the message "Phone Error. Could not place call because you have no audio device or sound card." See attachment.
Signing out of and back into CUPC resolves the issue temporarily.
I have version 8.6.2 installed and I'm using a USB headset.
Does anyone know what might be causing this?

I have users reporting this as well with Jabra GN 2000 headsets. They claim using a different headset resolves it which I'm waiting to confirm but I was wondering if you were able to figure this out.

I cannot find any, not one, affordable PCI sound card in Australia that I can use in my G4 using Tiger Grrrrr
I bought a card ($40 Aust) that had an Mac logo on the packaging - of course there are no drivers for it! How rude!
It has the CMedia CMI8738 chipset. Sells in the U S of A for less than $10!
For some reason Apple never put a microphone input on these machine. Yes I know about iMic.

Thank you for posting the the NI forums. There aren’t any example programs that ship with the DSA drivers. Will you be using this with the Sound and Vibration Toolkit? If so, there are numerous examples that install with this software package. Check out the LabVIEW Example Finder >> Toolkits and Modules >> Sound and Vibration Toolkit.
In addition to this, you could also use the signal processing VIs that ship with LabVIEW. There are also examples that ship with LabVIEW that use these VI in Example Finder >> Analyzing and Processing Signals FFT and Frequency Analysis. There is an entire Signal Processing palette that should contain the functionality that you need.

Will FCP X and QT will output audio thru any sound card that the Mac recognizes?

I watch FCP X video on my Mac Pro video monitor.
I want to output the audio thru a sound card to my audio monitor controller. My new digital audio monitor controller connects USB to the Mac, and USB is not an output option with FCP X. So, I need another audio path.
I have previously used a Pro Tools HD Native card for sending FCP X audio out, and this works fine.
I assume that any other sound card that works in the Mac (i.e., compatible and selectible in Mac Pro Sound Preferences) would work with FCP X, but I am just checking to be sure this is right before I buy something.
I am aware of potential sync issues, so I would use only a low latency sound card. The Pro Tools card, for instance, had very low latency and worked fine.

OK, forget it.
I can just use the Mac Pro optical digital out. Doh.
Some days the brain just won't lock into gear.

Problem with the sound card

Hello everyone,
So here for 2-3 days, the sound of my Macbook starts beuguer (buy in October 2014). So when starting the mac when I listen to music all goes well, I can adjust the sound using the keys on my keyboard, and when I ca defois support appears to me that the sound is cut off, I think it 'is a problem with the sound card. But as soon as I plug in headphones, not set I have to go through the system preferences. By unplugging the problem remains the same on his fate, but impossible to resolve through the keyboard. I tried to put the volume icon on the top bar but even by setting it does not work here. The problem resolves itself after 30 minutes-1 hour. It's very annoying. Thank you in advance for your answers.

This could be either hardware or software, so let's start with trying to get all drivers and software up to date. This page has updates for all your system. I would recommend getting at least your latest audio driver and BIOS downloaded. Following the installation, try using your sound again and see if the issue still persists.
