When I take pictures on my front camera it switches sides.. Like I will take a picture, and it will flip to either the left or the right....
It hasn't been doing this before??? It just started doing this the other day!!! Can someone help me please I'm so frustrated ...

Try doing a reset you won't lose any data, hold down the home/power button together unitl you see the apple logo and then release, wait for the phone to boot back up.
then check and see if that cleared the problem.

If you are talking about landscape pictures, hold the phone so the camera is at the top and the volume buttons on the bottom. If you hold it with the volume buttons on the top, the camera is upside down.

Why does my front camera flip my picture when it is saved? I need a solution to this problem asap.

What is your current iOS version. I believe iOS 5.1.1, released just a few days ago, addresses a camera issue. Even if it doesn't directly mention it in the update description, it may solve the problem. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

You don't. Look in the mirror...now raise a hand...get the picture?
Same thing applies with your phone.

    Hi there Fgonzalez2015,
You may find the camera troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.
Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
You see a closed lens or black screen
If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping the camera swap icon . If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.

  • Front Camera Horizontal Reverse Photo

Hello, I've been searching high and low and have yet to find an answer to this, and it's driving me nuts. I realize the camera app auto-mirrors the realtime view of the front camera, and that when you take a photo, it actually takes it normal. I understand that under normal circumstances, you'd want it mirrored when using Facetime or whatever. The problem with this is, I want to see what I'm actually photographing, not a mirror image of it, while I'm taking the photos. Is there any apps out there that allow you to see the actual camera output while taking photos rather than the mirrored view. I have found a few mirror apps that let you see it with no mirroring, but they don't take photos. Very frustrating, this seems like it should be really easy to do, can anyone help?

I understand exactly what you are meaning here, but I think this is hardware issue or "feature", there is no apps can do what you're looking for!

Hmm...Double click on the Home button and try to delete the camera app then launch it again that should fix it. You can also turn off your phone and turn it back on again.

  • My iPad camera only works at the back. When I change it to front camera it freezes with shutter closed. Also photo booth keeps opening the red curtain and I can't select a feature. I have restored iPad with no success. Help!

I have only had my iPad for a week and can not get the front camera to work....it just freezes and does nothing. The photo booth app also only shows the red curtain over and over. I have restored the iPad, reset it...and still no joy..... Any ideas?

I think you have a defective iPad.  One thing you can try is to reset (reboot) your iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.
If that doesn't help, show your iPad to an Apple Store Genius, and you should get a new iPad on the spot.
If there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center.  There may be one in your city.  In the US, <United States>.  Outside the US, <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1434>.

  • I'm using iphone 4s, whenever i take a photo using front camera mirror view of the image is NOT saved

I'm using iphone 4s, whenever i take a photo using front camera mirror view of the image is NOT saved. i.e, left becomes right & vice versa. To elaborate if you take a photo with your left hand index finger on your left chin it shows up as though i'm holding my right hand index finger on my right chin. This was not the case initially, i suspect this happened after photoshop app. was installled. Can someone assist?

Ok!! After checking couple of my friends phone i realise this is BY design!!.. i still don't understand the logic behind this though.Nevertheless this ain't a bug!!!

  • When I take pictures from front camera it automatically flips them how can I stop that?, When I take pictures from front camera it automatically flips them how can I stop that?

I just started to do this not to long ago. When I take a picture from my front camera, when I view it, it's rotated to the opposite side. How can I fix this?

Some mail programs, including Apple Mail, can reduce the size of images that are attached to a message. It's happening at the sender's end, and all you can do is ask the sender for a larger image.

  • Flipping photos so they are back to front.

Is there a way to 'flip' a photo in iPhoto 6? For instance, if the subject is facing to the left, can ou flip the photo so they are facing to the right? The rotate option just turns the whole thing upside down, which is not what i want to do.

This is not a feature of iPhoto - export the photo and use preview - tools menu - and reimport the flipped photo

  • How do I remove the "mirror" image on the front camera?

After I take photos on the front camera to say a "selfie" the image is then flipped and saved. I research online and people say it's what the camera sees (like looking into a mirror) and that's how we really look in real life but I can prove this to not be true!! Here is why, I have a beauty mark on my face on the left side and when I take a selfie my iPhone saves it to show it on the right!! And when I look into an actual mirror it's obviously on left where it should be not on the right!! IS THERE a way to remove this on the new iPhone?!? All apple product seem to do this!! iPhone, iPads even my Mac! But this not true on regular cameras. HELPPP this issue is making me not get another iPhone for I travel for a living and take tons of pics.

iPhone 5 plain.  iOS 7.1.2.  Virgin Mobile.  Had it about a month.
I noticed that all of the selfies I had taken with Instagram were reversed.  This was odd to realize; I have had the phone for a month, and when I see a reversed selfie it looks normal to me ... I part my hair on the left, and I didn't notice that all of my avatars for things had my hair parted on the wrong side.  I was reviewing some Facebook photos and it was very obvious that some of my pics have my hair parted on the wrong side.  It was kind of weird figuring out that the ones that looked right were the wrong ones...
So I played around a bit.  With the built in camera app, when I am framing a selfie, it sure would be awkward to try to center yourself in the picture if the image wasn't reversed.  I've had devices with front-facing cameras where you could un-reverse the image, and it is quite disorienting to try to center yourself.  So I get WHY the image is reversed (one of the reasons at least).  I noticed too that when I snap the selfie with the built-in camera app, that the picture un-mirrors as it takes.  There is a brief animation as the image flips side-to-side.
For me and my phone/situation, it is when I use Instagram to take pictures from the front-facing camera.  Instagram just seems to grab the actual image from the screen, and not do the un-mirroring that the built in photo app uses.  So, my solution is to not use the Instagram app to snap the actual selfie, but to use the built in phone app to take it, then afterwards I open the photo in instagram and do my tweaking.  Just slightly less than elegant for now, I am hoping that a future Instagram update will give you control on whether to un-mirror the front-facing camera.  But I see this as my phone working correctly, and the app itself being the thing that is buggy.  In my case.

  • Ipad/Iphone camera switches photos when they are taken. How do I stop this?

When photos are being taken, at first they look fine. When clicked to take the photo it flips it and it looks different. How do I stop this?

You don't stop that. The image you see in the front facing camera is a mirror image of reality. This is done because everyone is familiar with looking at themselves in a mirror. When you take the picture the image is converted to what the camera (and other people) see. Hold some text up to the front camera to see what I mean.
If, for some reason, you want a mirror image then there are photo editing Apps which will flip the image left to right. For example, see Photo Editor.
