Front camera in non-mirror Mode?

Hi, I am overall very pleased with the Yoga Tablet 2 (1050L), one thing I just noticed: I cannot get the front camera into non-mirror mode. The (stock) camera app offers a button (1|0) for that, but it has no effect on the live image.
Has anyone else observed that behaviour and found a solution?

I think Apple could simply solve this by giving you the option for front-facing photos (selfies, if you will) to keep thems as WYSIWYG or reverse them as WOSIWYG (O for "others"). How hard would that be? Having to download another camera app to do this or using a photo editor is a nuisance. Sometimes you just want it to look exactly as it looks to you when you press the snap button, and who cares if your favorite baseball team name or whatever is reversed? And how about letting your friends & family see you how you see yourself in the mirror? Why is that any less important than you seeing yourself the way others see you? Let's be a little more open-minded.

There are several ways to send pictures from a PC to an iPad. I give you some suggestions.
1) use iCloud on your PC http://www.apple.com/ca/icloud/setup/pc.html
In this way you can upload picture to iCloud and have them on the iPad. If you need more help you can search here or come back to me.
2)sending the pictures as eMail attachments to your iCloud address form the PC. You may be limited by dimensions, if you can reduce the size of the picture to 500Kb or 1Gb it will be enough on the iPad
3) use Goodreader on iPad. It has the possibility to use the WiFi and while both your PC and iPad are on the same WiFi the iPad can be seen as an external Drive by the PC and the files can be transferred locally on the net whithout limit of dimension. I do it from my Mac, it is not very simple but not difficoult and should be possible from PC too, but I have no experience. It is not free but not expensive
4) use Dropbox. It is a service Free until a certain space. You load the pictures to a local folder on your PC and it will be seen by the iPad.
I have all the 4 and use them according my needs.
5) Best solution - BUY A MAC -

How do I remove the "mirror" image on the front camera?

After I take photos on the front camera to say a "selfie" the image is then flipped and saved. I research online and people say it's what the camera sees (like looking into a mirror) and that's how we really look in real life but I can prove this to not be true!! Here is why, I have a beauty mark on my face on the left side and when I take a selfie my iPhone saves it to show it on the right!! And when I look into an actual mirror it's obviously on left where it should be not on the right!! IS THERE a way to remove this on the new iPhone?!? All apple product seem to do this!! iPhone, iPads even my Mac! But this not true on regular cameras. HELPPP this issue is making me not get another iPhone for I travel for a living and take tons of pics.

I noticed that all of the selfies I had taken with Instagram were reversed. This was odd to realize; I have had the phone for a month, and when I see a reversed selfie it looks normal to me ... I part my hair on the left, and I didn't notice that all of my avatars for things had my hair parted on the wrong side. I was reviewing some Facebook photos and it was very obvious that some of my pics have my hair parted on the wrong side. It was kind of weird figuring out that the ones that looked right were the wrong ones...
So I played around a bit. With the built in camera app, when I am framing a selfie, it sure would be awkward to try to center yourself in the picture if the image wasn't reversed. I've had devices with front-facing cameras where you could un-reverse the image, and it is quite disorienting to try to center yourself. So I get WHY the image is reversed (one of the reasons at least). I noticed too that when I snap the selfie with the built-in camera app, that the picture un-mirrors as it takes. There is a brief animation as the image flips side-to-side.
For me and my phone/situation, it is when I use Instagram to take pictures from the front-facing camera. Instagram just seems to grab the actual image from the screen, and not do the un-mirroring that the built in photo app uses. So, my solution is to not use the Instagram app to snap the actual selfie, but to use the built in phone app to take it, then afterwards I open the photo in instagram and do my tweaking. Just slightly less than elegant for now, I am hoping that a future Instagram update will give you control on whether to un-mirror the front-facing camera. But I see this as my phone working correctly, and the app itself being the thing that is buggy. In my case.

VIBE UI - Bug in Selfie and Front Camera Mode

I am now testing and reviewing Lenov Vibe Z2. This model has 8MP selfie camera, so you would assume that it should work well with a selfie stick. But it does not.
A selfie stick that works reasonably well with any other phone, will just increase the volume in the camera selfie mode in Vibe UI. This is a serious bug in my view, as with a 8MP selfie mode you must assume this camera to be used with a bluetooth selfie stick.
Same for the front camera mode, the selfie stick button does in fact take a picture as well as incrase the volume simultaneously. This is also sub-optimal because then the volume control hides the whole screen.
Can you please do something about this? This defeats the purpose of the phone to be used as a top noch selfie camera, in fact with this bug it would be recommendable to avoid this phone for people who want to take selfies..

Anyone regarding this serious bug in the selfie camera mode on the new Lenovo Vibe Z2 5.5 inch?
Let me restate the bug more properly:
When in the selfie camera mode, the volume buttons control the volume. There is no option to make the volume buttons take the picture.
This is a huge bug, because all the selfie sticks controle via bluetooth the volume button to take the picture. Thus nobody could use Lenovo Vibe UI Camera with a selfie stick.
Lenovo is promoting the Vibe Z2 as the ultimate selfie camera, and the Lenovo Camera UI has a bug in the selfie mode for taking selfies. Kinda irronic.
In the front camera mode this is not an issue, because Lenovo included an option to make the Volume button take pictures. That is fantastic. But this option does not work in the selfie camera mode. In the selfie mode the volume button only does the volume thing, which then makes it impossible to use bluethooth devices for the selfie camera mode.
Can anyone look at this please?

When you did the restore, did you restore from a backup or restore as new? The final step of user troubleshooting is to restore as a new device, not from a backup. If you restore as a new device and the camera still does not function, it is probably a hardware issue. Make an appointment at the Apple Store Genius Bar and have the device checked by a Genius.

Front Camera on iPhone 4s flips pictures horizontally (mirrored) how can i fix this?

I have used the front camera many times and the pictures have come out the same way it looks on the screen. Recently, just today, the camera takes the picture but when i go to the photo library it has been mirrored, (flipped horizontally). This never occured before, how can i fix this? The other camera works fine.

I'm using iphone 4s, whenever i take a photo using front camera mirror view of the image is NOT saved. i.e, left becomes right & vice versa. To elaborate if you take a photo with your left hand index finger on your left chin it shows up as though i'm holding my right hand index finger on my right chin. This was not the case initially, i suspect this happened after photoshop app. was installled. Can someone assist?

Ok!! After checking couple of my friends phone i realise this is BY design!!.. i still don't understand the logic behind this though.Nevertheless this ain't a bug!!!

Front Row 2 - Videos won't play in mirrored mode

I have a powerbook hooked up to my TV via the video out. When I use Front Row, the menus show up on the TV fine. But when I start a movie or a TV show, I hear the audio, I see the control bar on the bottom, but I do not see the video, on either screen.
It almost looks like it is being blocked like some sort of copy protection. Any ideas?

Seemingly have the same problem as everyone else but rebooting doesn't make a difference. I just attempted to play an avi while hooked up to my TV with an Apple branded connector. Front Row (installed with Leopard 10.5 fresh install, not an upgrade or archive) would not show the video, only the sound with the bar at the bottom.
I then hooked my MacBook Pro 2.33GHz up to a second monitor via DVI cable - same problem.
But, with no external TV or Monitor hooked up, Front Row plays the avi file with video. (No change if I was in extended desktop or mirrored mode.)
I haven't tried a DVD yet or other video file types.

Lenovo K3 note front camera mirror images.

I have just been delivered a Lenovo K3 Note. The phone is really good value for money. Almost all functions are perfect for my money invested. However I am annoyed that despite such a nice front camera, the captured images are delivered as mirror images. i.e things on the left appear to be on the right after the image is clicked. Due to this if there is any lettering on the image it appears reverse. This is so irritating. Is there any setting or feature by which I can correct this or is it a problem in my handset. Has anyone else faced this issue. Otherwise please issue a upgrade or patch via OTA that set right this problem.

recently replaced digitizer/lcd screen now the front facing camera does not work ,freezes on virtual shutter screen and cannot swap from front to rear camera (rear camera works on facetime )

Either the front camera is damaged or the connection of the camera to the logic board is messed up. Take it apart and try to find/fix the problem

My iphone 5. Camera just started mirroring images i take of myself. How do I get it to stop doing this?

I just went on a hike, started the hike by taking a photo of myself in front of the trail sign. The picture turned out just as if someone took it of me, the trail sign is readable and not mirrored.
On my return I took the same photo but this time the trail sign is mirrored so the letters are backward.
I can't figure out what I did to screw this up and I have read postings that claim the front facing camera is always mirrored but in fact I have two photos I took that are proof something changed. Because I was on the hike by myself and took both photos myself.

Thanks, but that isn't the issue. That switches the camera from normal to front facing. When I take photos of myself I always use the front facing mode so I can see if I am cutting off my head etc.
My question is that using the same setting, front facing, i have two photos taken 2 hours apart. One of me by the trail sign which is normal and the trail sign is readable, and the second one which is "backwards" and the trail sign letters are mirrored so you can't read them.

I have had Nokia phones for a while now, but transferring data between a Nokia phone via a computer and another Nokia phone is one of the most frustrating things there is in life!!
I only wanted to transfer my contacts from a N95 phone on O2 to a 6700 classic on T-mobile, should not be that difficult right?!
WRONG!!!
I take the sim card out of my old phone (N95) and put into my new one (6700) and it asks for a Restriction code, which I don't have and neither does T-mobile or Nokia!
I try connecting the N95 to my pc via usb on pc suite and data transfer and the computer recognises it but the Nokia pc suite does not, saying phone not connected and that it is in the incompatible mode ui!
I even downloaded the latest updated software for the N95 which took a while, and still no joy!
This is about the third time in 3 years this has happened that I can't transfer my contacts, but by using the windows software to open devices I did manage to transfer my contacts to the pc, but you can only then re-transfer them to the memory card where you can't then transfer them to the contacts file or sim card memory!
And even then in the memory card you can't open the individual contacts because the file format is not supported, vcf!!!
And yet amazing I managed to transfer my photos to the pc via lifeblog as easy as that!!!
It is incredible in this day and age that it is so difficult to transfer data from 1 phone to another which are the same make and using the correct Nokia software, and yes the Nokia website does have cheesey photos with really useless step by steps, that only state the obvious and do not really tell you anything that you don't know already!!!
And while I am here I must say that the N95 is a poor phone, very slow to start up, very slow to use, battery only lasts about 8 hours, terrible camera which struggles to focus on 2 different objects less that about a foot apart, i.e. it cannot differentiate and would only focus on the front object (and I am a serious photographer). The back cover is to weak and broke very easily and has had to be held on with tape! The signal has been terrible up and down like a yo yo, and it was not all O2's fault I have to hold the phone in a certain way for a while to try and gain a signal which makes me look like some kind weirdo!!
I'm going to get T-mobile to transfer the contacts for me on their non pc bit of kit now, otherwise I will be sitting there all day entering in each contact individually!!
Come on Nokia you really need to sort this very simple and yet very important issue out, please.......!!

How to test N900 front camera without 3G sim or to...

I just brought a brand new N900 device & haven't tested the front camera, I not have 3G sim card & also wants to know if possible to take pictures with front camera, thanks.

You can't use the front camera for taking photos yet.
to Test it, you can use an application called 'Mirror' that is available from the extras repository in the app manager or bu following this link on your N900 http://maemo.org/downloads/product/raw/Maemo5/mirror/?get_installfile
I believe the only other app to support the front camera is Skype, but you need PR 1.2 for that to work with the camera

hey there. i was wondering, if i can use the front cam of my device as a webcam in skype from inside the fone, can i use it for video calling from pc by connecting n900 to pc via mass storage or pc suite mode??

skype works fine on the n900 including the video talking. i have never used my device as a webcam for my pc. onlydid that with my e90 whichrequiredan application, so there must be some way to do it.

My I pod touch 5 front camera isn't working. How can I fix it. I have also already tried to reset it multiple times.

If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
