Front camera use on Skype

I've used Skype on my ipad 2. While the camera facing me shows the person on the other line what I look like, can the forward facing camera show the person receiving the call the scene I am looking at?

Yes, just press the camera button in the corner of the video window and a popup will appear to give you the choice of using the front facing, rear facing or no camera at all.

Line on ipad 3 screen from front camera

Ive been looking on the forum but not found anything yet.
I have a line on my screen but only when i use the front camera for pics, skype and facetime. Back cam is good.
It will show on the pic if you take a pic so thinking the lens is busted a bit.
I bought it from comet who are now bust so wondering if There is a fix i can do, other than turn on and off, or if i have to visit an apple store as only bought 3 months ago.

Except I didn't buy it from an Apple store and the place I got it from has a "no questions asked" 14 day return policy. Here's a picture that I took. It's a bit harder to see with the screen glare but you can definitely see it.

hey there. i was wondering, if i can use the front cam of my device as a webcam in skype from inside the fone, can i use it for video calling from pc by connecting n900 to pc via mass storage or pc suite mode??

skype works fine on the n900 including the video talking. i have never used my device as a webcam for my pc. onlydid that with my e90 whichrequiredan application, so there must be some way to do it.

If the DroidX had a front camera how easy would it be to video call with Skype or Fringe?

Apparently EVO with Sprint you can video conference with Fringe but is this something that has to been done through WIFI? I was ready to upgrade to the DroidX but I am wondering if I should hold off for the front camera. I love using Skype video and it would be amazing to have this feature on the phone if it is an easy thing to do.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone is knowledgable about this information.

Since that is a hypothetical situation (Droid X front camera), there is no real way to even guess how the carrier or manufacture would implement this feature because if you look at how other devices use this feature you notice that they are not implementing this feature the same way. Also in regards to the EVO video calls is across the 4G network but from what I have read they have been experiencing a lot of connection issues do to the network being over whelmed (which isnt a surprise)...

If you restored the iPad to factory settings and the camera still locks up, you may have a hardware problem and it may be time to get Apple involved.
If it was just Skyoe, I would suggest deleting the app and reinstalling, but you can't delete FaceTime.

- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If you still have the problem after retoring the iPOd to factory defaults/new iPod then The iPod is likely defective and replacement is required. You can make an appoinment at the Genius Bar of an APple store or take it back to BestBuy if within warranty

Try resetting your phone by holding down the home and off button until the apple symbol comes up. Then if still doing, restore your phone in itunes from your backup.

Lumia 1520 reboots when front camera is used

Hi all, I picked up an international version of the Lumia 1520 a couple of weeks back in India and I just realized that the phone reboots when ever I try to use the front camera. This is happening with all apps. The apps that i have tried till now are as follows
OneShot, Nokia Camera, Default camera app and Camera360.
The reboot happens with all the apps only when I try to use the front camera. I have tried hard resetting the phone but that too has not solved the problem. I have seen a couple of discusstions on this topic over here but none of them contained any helpful replies.
The handset is running the Lumia Black update. I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue or software issue. If it is a software issue I dont mind waiting for a patch, but if it is a hardware issue then I have no option but to reutrn to it. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased a Nokia Lumia 1520 from Snapdeal. 2 days after using the phone, I inserted an SD card for data transfer and it didn't work with the phone. I tried to format the SD card as per Nokia forums and also tried to reset the phone but to no help. I took the handset to Nokia Care (Net Dot Solutions, Tilak Nagar, Delhi) and they tried to do a software upgrade but to no help.
I submitted the brand new working phone and the Nokia care kept it for 15 days. The only reply I ever got from them was that the set is in the factory with no status update at all. After 15 days I got response from Nokia care that the Phone is warranty devoid and not covered under warranty any more. There was no specific reason given for the warranty being devoid.
When I went to collect the set, it had minor scratches on the screen, which were not there when the set was submitted. The support personnel said that these are very minor and expected to be there. Very Strange! Also upon using the phone after I got it back from Nokia Care, I found that the front Camera is not working and the phone crashes each time the Camera is opened. Also the Auto-Brightness control (probably due to its sensor) is also not working.
Nokia care has damaged my phone in the 15 days they had it. Who is to be held responsible. And now they say my phone is warranty devoid and I need to pay for any repairs.

Every time, I switch from the back camera to the front, the Camera app freezes and doesn't display the front camera.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

How to make use of the front camera on E71?

Is there a way to make it useful for something while not on a video call?

I can't speak for the E71 but some models (like my N8) have the option to capture pictures/video using the front camera so it could be used as a mirror.
If the E71 has this option open the camera app, press options - "use secondary camera". If the option isn't there then it doesn't have the feature. You may be able to find third party apps that offer the feature by searching google.

As the authour of healthcheck i'd like to echo the "Early adopters" comment.
Not only is the OS still new, the device is the first of it's type.
It may not have everything built in straight away but the possibilities really are great.
I had never coded until 20'th feb (For the N900/Maemo, Python or QT), and 20 days later my first version was in maemo downloads.
Things do take time, and the only reason healthcheck came about was because two us decided we needed a noob (New Person) friendly system checker. I even made a brainstorm for this idea to get it going. Lots of people added opinions - so i just got on with it
The front camera never really had a defined purpose, but it was added ... a bonus i say.....
As PR 1.2 Draws closer - you never know there may be added funtionality with it!
All i can say is, instead of fussing, turn your effort into describing exactly what you want, speak to sopme developers and see where you go - if you really do want something, then the chances are you can work to getting it done reasonably quickly!
And being linux based, the chances are if you can alreadydo it in terminal, and app to do it will be very easy also! (Gstreamer is pretty effective when used effectivly!)
