Front facing camera options lumia 820

Since I have a Lumia 820 with front facing camera apart from taking my pic and Skype are there any apps that use it to make video calls

When you open the camera, is there no longer an icon in the upper left corner of your screen?

Lumia 620 front facing camera

Hi,
i am unable to use the front facing camera on my lumia 620.
i have tried updating the software and it says there are no new updates as it is fully up to date, however i still cannot work out how to use the front facing camera. Everything else on the phone works fine, including the main camera and the flash. I can see it has a camera on the front and reviews have said it is a vga camera, but i am unable to use it, as i cannot work out how.

Lumia 920 Front facing camera blury, exaggerated s...

Hi,
I'm trying to understand if my frontfacing camera has a defect or it really is supposed to be that bad on a 920. I started noticing the images are always sort of blurry even though i try to hold it extremely still and that the colors are kind of bad.
What really put me over the edge was seeing my wife's iphone's result side by side. hers was crisp, clear, beautiful while mine looked like it was from a first generation digital camera.
Is this expected? has anyone else compared iphone 5 and 920 FF camera results side by side?

I don't think its right to have a dismissive attitude toward wanting a decent front facing camera. Nokia put the camera there, it should take good pictures. Facebook, youtube and myspace have been around for a long time. Many people like to take pictures of themselves. I dont think its wise to write off this segment of the market.
All i'm saying is that the phone has a camera. I'm sure it is able to focus. They just need to use some of the technology they use for the main camera in this one. I dont expect it to be as good, but it needs to be better.
For example, FF cameras are usually used to take pictures of the user -- someone with a face. you can use the algorithm published over a decade ago (http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/people/viola/Pubs/Detect/violaJones_IJCV.pdf), find the face, and focus on it like even the cheapest point and shoot cameras are doing these days.
The attitude that "this phone is not for that" is exactly why the iphone has done so well. Otherwise, why should we have internet or apps on the phone either -- heck, its for making calls.
It might seem petty, but I was literally in the car with my wife. we were goign to go return her iphone and ger her a lumia. she happened to snap a photo of herself on my camera. it was terrible. we turned around and went home. That's one sale lost. There are lots of poeple that use Facebook and want to take and post photos of themselves. Lets not give up on that market because we dont want to put some software into one of the cameras on the phone known for its camera.

Hey I was wondering why my front facing camera will not work, on snapchat it doesn't even give me the option to switch to my front camera anymore, when I go to my camera and switch to my front facing one it just stays black I don't understand it I need it

I'm wondering why when I go to my camera and try to use my front facing camera it will not let me use it the screen just goes black for no reaso. And it will freeze up sometimes when I try, when I'm in snapchat it doesn't even give me the option to switch to my front facing camera anymore

Flash/ front facing camera/ crash

Hi,
I have some issues with my new phone:
1.The flash on my Nokia Lumia 920 stopped working (even in third party applications).
2.My front facing camera began to be defective (see the attachment) and shorlty after, it stopped working completely.
3. Recenlty, my phone starts to freeze in some apps and the only way to solve this is by pressing on volume+power+camera.
I hope that I can have some answers, because my phone is new (april) and these problems are quite strange.

Suggest that you save data to SkyDrive and consider resetting this device to "Out of Box" state as a pre-cursor to returning device to Nokia Care facility for attention, once you have excluded any possible software corruption:

Front facing camera- mirrors reflection??

The front facing camera was one of the things I was most looking forward to..
It's weird though.. When taking a photo- it automatically flips the image, as if looking at someone through a mirror, like it is technically correct- I understand- but awkward to the human eye..
I think this is a thing everyone has.. But is there by any chance you can change this??
Or is there another camera app or something with the option to toggle between the two??

I understand that technically it os correct- but it's awkward to the eye. I don't know why there is no option to flip it horizontally.
Like on webcams you would want to see yourself like you are looking in a mirror- not flipped!
Usually on cameras and/or phones I have seen a toggle option to flip horizontally... If this is possible and I missed something please let me know!
If not I think apple should just add an option in the next update!

Faulty front facing camera

The front facing camera has stopped working on my iphone 5, wasn't dropped or damage just gave up! Any ideas?

That is certainly not good. If you are doing a Shift-restore (or Option-restore) make sure you are selecting the proper firmware bundle. Are you reinstalling the software, then restoring from a backup? If there is a problem in the software, then restoring from the backup may bring that same software issue back. I suggest you set it up as a new iPad (don't restore from a backup, and possibly re-download the firmware (as there may be a problem in your firmware .ipsw file. If you need help locating and deleting this ipsw file (so that you can redownload the firmware, making sure there is no software issue) you can look online or ask me. This could be a hardware problem as well, in which case, unless you want to pop open your new, shiny iPad 2's case (and void the warranty) I suggest you take it to Apple to be fixed.

The Lumia 900 is coming out in the summer. It has a bigger screen, a high capacity battery, and a 1.3 MP front facing camera.

Why does my screen keep flashing white when I use my front facing camera?

I have an iPhone 4s running iOS 5.1. Whenever I use my front facing camera, the footage I take shows a white flash on the screen every second or so. It looks almost like the glare that you get from looking straight into a flashlight. This doesn't happen every time time I film, and when it does, it can easily be solved by stopping and restarting again, but it's still annoying.

This issue is associated with your graphics driver not being compatible with PS' hardware acceleration. Updating the driver if possible would be advisable, otherwise turn off OpenGL drawing under Preferences --> Performance.

My front facing camera is not working. How can I get it to work again?

My back camera works just fine but when I switch it over to the front facing camera it just freezes and never switches then takes awhile to switch back over. It first started in the Snapchat App but now my actual camera App is doing it.
