Front panel audio jack is not working on K9N Neo V2

My front panel audio jack is not working on K9N Neo V2. I check the JAUD1 cable and it appears to be connected to the front panel audio jack. My soundcard driver cannot detect any gadgets when I plug it in the front panel. My audio drivers and BIOS are up to date.  Is there any known solution to this? My computer is only a few months old and I have not tried the front audio jack until recently. I'm on Vista home premium btw.
Also, I've got another problem, my processor is AMD 64x2 4400+ overclocked to 2.63Ghz. I've been using that clock value ever since I built this computer and stress tested the processor and found that it would not cause any problems like hanging or overheating. However, I recently decided the need for AMD's Cool & Quiet technology and enabled it. It caused BSODs every few days or per week that didn't happen before. I tried it with the default clock value and it still causes BSODs. Can someone help me?

Thanks. Its ironic that disabling it actually enables it.
It has to day with the front panel audio wiring of your case.  How many wires are there that can be connected to the board's pin header?

Sound quality isn't very good
Can you be more descriptive?  Is the quality better if you plug the headphone into one of the jack at the back panel?  (Also, make sure you tell the Realtek HD Audio Manager, that a headphone is connected (and not regular speakers).

  • [SOLVED] Front audio panel still not working on K9N Neo V3

I already posted on this here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=113813.0.
I still didn't get front audio panel to work on MSI K9N Neo V3.
Even with my new case; Sharkoon Revenge, it is not working. It wasn't working on my previous noname case too. However, front audio panel on my previous case was working on several other MBs except on this MSI K9N.
Now, I'm using the latest Realtek HD audio driver.  I think it's from February '08. Just as with the driver dowloaded by Vista via Windows Update, anything plugged in front audio panel isn't recognized. In this new version of Realtek driver I can't find this Disable front audio panel option so I can't tell if it is checked or not.
Once more, there is not much to do wrong while connecting. Case front audio panel cabel is the same as on all other cases I've ever seen/had. It's a cable with the same number and position of pins as in all other cases. It fits fine on MSI K9N Neo V3. Rear audio panel is working fine.
    Any solution to this!?

From what I can see from the Sharkoon product page, the front panel connectors of your case are not compliant with the Intel HD Audio Pin Standard.
Do you have a manual for your case that includes Pin/wire definitions for the front audio connectors?
No. There was no manual in package. I never thought I will need one either.
Here is Sharkoon Rebel Pin Assigment; http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9729/pinslk2.jpg

Have you tried disabling automatic front panel jack detection in the Realtek HD Audio configuration utility?  If you don't know were to find that option, access the tab labeled "Audio I/O" and click on the tool icon.
Yes, I tried disabling it. Two tabs (front audio out and front mic) appeared but none of it works.

From something I read: You can also physically check the audio cable of the front panel audio solution.  If there is a cable connected to Pin 4, you have an HD Audio module; if there is no cable to Pin 4, you have an AC97 module.
I don't really understand this. Could you please check this on Pin Assignment scan I uploaded above!?

  • Front audio panel not working on K9N Neo V3

A new problem with MSI K9N Neo V3 MB...
I just found out that Front audio panel is not working (no mic, no line out). I checked the cable 3 times. Seems to be OK. Front panel was working on a previous ASUS motherboard.
    - All drivers according to vista are working fine.
    - Back panel sound (eveything) is working fine.
    - Sound panel says that front panel mic & line-out are not plugged in.
Is there a switch to turn this on? Or maybe some special driver?
Or it is just useless, and working on MB package advertisment only?

  • Audio jack does not work after 10.9.1 update

    Hi folks --
I have had an issue for a while now that maybe some of you have seen.
I have a 2011 iMac 27, and upgraded to Mavericks months ago, no issues. For the holidays I bought an AppeTV 3rd gen for the wife, and after setting it up on the network, I can no longer play audio throught the audio out jack on the iMac to powered speakers.
Now, the issue is, I cannot tell if it stopped working before the AppleTV got added to the mix, or after a Mavericks update. It has been about 3 months...
The machine is out of warranty, and I have the sneaking suspicion that the audio jack on the motherboard is to blame... but not certian. Has anybody had that issue or seen it be an issue? I consider myself pretty up to date on the Mac support sites like Macintouch and iFixtit, but have not seen anything regrading this issue on this model.
I have done a deep clean with Onyx, zapped the PRAM, and done a few restarts. No joy.
Anyone have any wisdom to impart?
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

  • Audio jack port not working

i installed windows 8.1 on my laptop HP 655 and i have high definition audio device drivers installed but i cant hear any sound from my headphone or external speakers when i plug the audio jack in its port. but the internal speakers are working well... please help

    Dear gbonyo -
I understand that after installing Windows 8.1, your speakers and headphones do not work.  Well, that's annoying...  I will try to help.
    - Before going through these steps, make sure that the speakers and headphones are connected to the correct ports. (I know this sounds silly, but sometimes it happens.)
The first and simplest thing to try is the audio playback troubleshooting tool:
    1. With the headphones and speaker plugged in to the laptop, type "troubleshooting" at the Start screen to open the Search charm, and then select Troubleshooting from the search results.
    2. Under Hardware and Sound, click Troubleshoot audio playback and then click Next when the Playing Audio window opens.
    3. A new window opens. Select the device you would like to troubleshoot. Then click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.
    4. If a recommended action displays, select Apply this fix or Skip this step to continue to search for other problems.
If the above does not resolve the problem (and/or it does not find your speakers/headphones) it could be that the laptop does not know that it has speakers/headphones attached to it.
    1. From the Start screen, type "sound" to open the Search charm, and then select sound from the search results.
    2. Click on the Playback tab.
    3. Right-click an empty area of the Sound window.
    4. Click the check boxes to select Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices.
If the device is listed as "Currently unavailable" or "Not plugged in," disconnect it, and
then reconnect it from the port.
    5. Test the device by sending a signal from the sound source (For example: Play an mp3 file).
    6. Look at the bars next to the device name on the Playback tab:
If the gray bars next to the line-in audio device name change to green, the device is active and an audio signal is passing through the line-in port. The issue should now be resolved.
If the bars remain gray and inactive, the computer is not recognizing a signal. Leave the Playback tab open and proceed to the next step.
    7. From the Playback tab of the sound window click the port that you want to use (there could be one or more ports).
    8. If the device you want to use contains a small circle with an arrow pointing down, the device is disabled. To enable the device, right-click the device name and select Enable.
    9. Click Set Default to make this device the default line-in audio device.
    10. Click OK to make the changes.
Please let me know if this resolves the problem.  If it doesn't, we can try a couple of other things.
    Sincerely,

  • Print VI front panel to file does not work after building executable.

I am using a property and invoke node to print the front panel of my VI to an HTML file.  It works fine in the development mode. After Building the application, this subvi will no longer
print the front panel.  Is there some special files that included in the build??

You can use the Report Generation VIs to generate the HTML report.  Specifically, you could use Append Front Panel Image to Report.vi and Save Report to File.vi to save the image of the panel to an HTML report.
Check out the examples in examples\reports to get a better idea how to use these VIs if you've never used them before.

Those should be fixed with a chipset driver, which is packaged in the HP graphics driver. Did you install that yet? Don‘t do express install, but rather the custom install and check everything.

  • Front Panel Audio Problems

I'm trying to make sense of the JAUD1 descriptions and enable the front panel audio jacks to work but it seems the mobo doc and the casing connectors have entirely different descriptions.
    The JAUD1 has these:
    Pin1 AUD_MIC
    Pin2 AUD_GND
    Pin3 AUD_MIC_BIAS
    Pin4 AUD_VCC
    Pin5 AUD_FPOUT_R
    Pin6 AUD_RET_R
    Pin7 HP_ON

    Mic:
    MICOUT
    MICIN

    LineIn:
    SPKO-R

    LineOut:

    Reserved
What is going on??? Please help! ;(

Although it doesn't make sense as LineIn - SPKO_L/SPKO_R, I read as Speaker Out though. EARO_L/EARO_R should be headphone out.

    Pin2 AUD_GND  - AGMD
    Pin3 AUD_MIC_BIAS - MICIN

  • K9N2G Neo Front panel audio not working

I have plugged in various cases and i/o bays into the audio connector on this mb and NONE of them work. Yes I have tried the "disable detection" option with no luck. I am currently trying to use a silverstone fp32 i/o bay that definately supports hd audio but it still doesn't work. I made no wiring mistake as it was a plug and not seperate wires.

What do I have to do to get front panel audio that was promised with this board?
edit: you know I have NEVER had trouble with AC97 yet I have NEVER gotten HD audio to work properly EVER

It doesn't follow AC97. But it is a Realtec chip, and they often run into problems. For example they'd like their drivers installed while in SafeMode.
Where exactly did the problem come up? Is the HD controller enabled, (BIOS)?
Is this relevant, stolen from the Englizsch only manual:
"When you are playing the first audio source (for example: use Windows Media
Player to play DVD/VCD), the output will be played from the rear panel, which is the
    default setting.
Then you must to select the Realtek HD Audio front output from the scroll list
first, and use a different program to play the second audio source (for example: use
Winamp to play MP3 files). You will find that the second audio source (MP3 music) will
come out from the Line-Out audio jack of Front Panel."
Off: Think this is the first time this board come before my eyes in this forum.
