Front panel doesn't show

Hi,
I have a vi (1) that calls a subvi (2) when I press a button. This subvi (2) calls the vi (1) again when I press another button. I have a event structure for this button (button of the subvi (2) ) where I set to false FP Open property for the vi (1) and then I call by reference this vi (1) and I do an invoke node (run) to show the front panel of it but it doesn't work. Why?
I post a image.
Thanks,
ToNi

Hello tonitpp:
Unfortunately, the "Run VI" method only executes the vi and it will not open the front panel.
If you want to open the front panel, use the "Open FP" method, which is also located on the same class.
I hope this helps.

    Hi ToNi
I attach you another 2 simple solutions. One with the FP.State property and the other using the close function of the vi reference.
The problem using the close function is, that the first vi doesn't open in running mode. Using the function "Open FP" the vi opens, but I can't run it.
This problem is avoidable using the FP.State property.
To run the vi's, vi1.vi and vi2.vi of the close directory must be copied to c: or you have to change the absolute paths in the vi's.
I hope this is what you are looking for and it helps.

  • Apps panel doesn't show installed Creative Cloud apps

None of my apps are showing as installed in the creative cloud application
Adobe are aware this issue exists, but their solution doesn't work ---> Apps panel doesn't show installed Creative Cloud apps
Can't say I'm surprised, Anybody knows how to really solve this problem?

It seems that Adobe doesn't think it's important to check for previous apps installation, and expects the user to manually match the creative cloud language would be installed apps language
So if you see that there is no app installed in your creative cloud just check their language settings in Preferences > Apps > Apps language.

hmmm, okay. Last night I installed the "Beta" driver and the EAX driver. I now have sound but my front panel doesn;t work. For some reason XP doesn't see the panels devices properly and lists all of them on the panel board as UNKNOWN devices. Is there some other driver set I need to install the front panel?

  • Custom vi panel doesn't show in panel

    Hello,
I inserted a custom vi that I created into another vi.  The problem is that the panel of the custom vi doesn't show on the new vi panel.  What do I need to do to get the custom vi panel to show in the new vi panel.
    Thanks,
    Steve

For some reason I can't open your VI. I'm getting a daq dll error. I'm
sure it's something on my end as I just got a new laptop and just
reinstaled everything and something probably didn't go right.
Subpanels are a feature that was added in 7.0 that let's you embed the
front panel of a subVI into the panel of its top level VI. The subVI
panel shows up in a container on the other front panel. This allows you
to switch between several panels, but have them constrained inside the
top level VI. Nice little feature, but since you're running 6.1, it's
    not available to you.
Recreating the subVI on the top level VI would be just duplicating all
the controls and indicators from the subVI to the panel of the top
level. Probably not what you should be doing.
It sounds like you found the "Open front panel when Called" option and that should do the trick for you want.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

  • Problem about asynchronous call: subVI front panel doesn't pop up when called.

    Dear All,
I'm new to LabVIEW, and this is the first time I try to use the asynchronous call.
    I'm using LabVIEW 2011.
I want to build a directory for several VIs, and it should allow users to open more than one of the VIs at the same time by pushing the buttons. Before building this directory, I simply tried to use asynchronous call to call a VI form another VI, but found a big problem.
I followed the steps in the help file, created a strictly typed reference, set the option to x80 because I don't need the return. When I run it for the first time, it worked fine: the subVI popped up and run. Then I closed the subVI. But for the sencond time and on, when I run the caller VI, the subVI didn't pop up, instead it seemed to run silently on background because when I manually opened it from the file I found it running. Besides, I didn't find any option like "show front panel when called" of the asynchronous call.
The caller VI and subVI are attached. The address of subVI in caller VI should be changed accordingly.
What should I do to make it work properly? Thanks very much for  any idea!

Jeff, you will be happy to know that I used this tactic in full force on a project recently (lots of dialogs in this program).  Not sure how many LabVIEW reboots it has saved me from.  Reuse VIs made it even easier to do.

  • InDesign - newly installed panel doesn't show up under extensions

Installed Adobe Exchange panel for Indesign CS6, searched for SuperOverlay creator, installed it with no errors, restarted InDesign but the panel menu item doesn't show up under Window > Extensions. Am I doing this correctly? I've reinstalled the extension a number of times and restarted InDesign many times with no success.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Hey Jonathan—Yeah it's weird, but it's newer software so some bugs are understandable. No worries, happy to help resolve a more core problem if I can.
Yes, it has been showing up in My Stuff on the AE panel the whole time. I opened my Extension Manager and uninstalled the SuperOverlay Creator, went back to InDesign, installed the panel again, restarted InDesign, still no dice under Window > Extensions.
Throwing some screenshots up here for you, please let me know if you see anything wrong that I should be changing.

  • Running executable as a service, the front panel doesn't display properly upon the second logon.

I am running a LabView executable as a service.  When I logon the first time, I see the front panel correctly.  When I logoff, the service still runs properly.  If I logon a second time, the frontpanel never fills in.  (I see the desktop through the front panel).  The service still runs, but when I click on any menu, the computer freezes.  Any suggestions?  (Other than not logging on twice)

    Hi chach,
I hate to say it, but I'm surprised it even runs once.  If you check out:
    this link
    It says the following:
"The service must run without a user interface."
As the article mentions, you could still have a separate front panel that communicates with the service, but the service itself probably doesn't have an accessible front panel.

  • Front panel doesn't print

I am trying to print my VI. I can see the front panel in Print Preview. When it prints the front panel page is blank. Anybody else run into this problem and how did you fix it.
    Thanks
    Chris Gallo

Are you using any decorations on the front panel?  Perhaps drawing a border around the panel?
(Reason I ask is that I once had a border decoration print over the controls it was supposed to be behind.  I'm not sure what happened, since I could access the controls while running the VI, but for some reason, when I went to print, it thought it was in front of the controls.  After selecting the border and sending it to the back again, it fixed the problem.)

  • LV8.0 Auto-print front panel doesn't work

On the front panel in VI Properties/Print Options the 'Automatically print front panel every time VI completes execution' is cleared when you exit the VI Properties dialog and return to it.  Consequently, you can't get the front panel to print by checking this option.
    Brent

    Bshu,
You're absolutely right. That functionality is faulty. A work around may be to use the operate>>print at completion function. FYI: if you enable this property, the  VI Properties/Print Options the 'Automatically print front panel every time VI completes execution' turns black. R&D is aware of both of these problems. Thank you for you're very valuable feedback and post to let us know if there's anything else we can help out with.

  • Front Row doesn't show alias/Ext HD folder...

Frustration... It was working perfectly under 10.4 but doesn't work at all now.
Created an alias of my ext HD movies folder and placed it in the "Movies" folder of iTunes library, but Front Row doesn't see it at all.
When i drop that alias in itunes itself it copies all the contents/movies, wich takes too much room and is not what i want...
    Help?

I think you've misunderstood the suggestions for this, the alias needs to live in your user's "Movies" folder, not in the iTunes "Movies" folder. It should be in this path:
    <Macintosh HD>/Users/<YourUsersShortName>/Movies/
You should be able to move the alias you've already made into the right folder and then Front Row should find your hard drive.

  • FileInfo Custom Panel doesn't show xmp data: flex 3.6, FileInfo SDK 5.1

Just getting into XMP. Decided to make custom File Info panel for our custom xmp namespace data that will be applying to all our images in our archive.
Since still on Adobe CS 5.5, got the FileInfo 5.1 SDK. Got the Flex 3.6a package. I'm on Mac OS X 10.7.5, java version "1.6.0_37".
Compiled the "TestPanel" that comes with the SDK. That works. It has a fi:XMPTextInput item that shows the xmpPath="dc:title" dublincore xmp data, i can change it and save it and when i come back it is the changed data. When i look in the Raw fileinfo tab, it is there as i had modified it.
Now when i add a fi:XMPLabel for xmpPath="xmp:CreatorTool" no data is shown in my custom FileInfo panel. And when i add in my own custom xmp namespace data "mydata" that does not show either. The labels and textboxes are there for entering, but it appears that it is not parsing correctly to find the data to populate what is in the file already. I can type something in but it doesn't save it to the file. My custom xmp data namespace "mydata" data is showing in the Raw FileInfo panel so i know it is there, as i put it there with exiftool.
I have the required namespace lines in the mxml file for the panel:
    <fi:XMPNamespaces>
    <fi:XMPNamespace prefix="mydata" value="http://example.com/xmp/mydata/"/>
    <fi:XMPNamespace prefix="dc" value="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>
    <fi:XMPNamespace prefix="xmp" value="http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/" />
    </fi:XMPNamespaces>
The mxml file compiles and the panels load and display so it doesn't seem like it is the source files. It seems like a runtime issue. Since it does show the one  dublincore xmp data it does seem like the panel is working, except for the "xmp" namespace and  my "mydata" namespace. That's got to be a clue but being so new to this it is not giving me any directions to go in.
Any and all ideas are most appreciated.
    Peace,
    Dan

For some reason SpeedGrade updated through the Application manager. I tried downloading the updates from adobe's website but it won't install. Prelude's update fails before it can even get started whereas the extension manager does install but it doesn't seem to be updating.
I've done as much investigation as I can think of and I'd rather not create a new user just to check that out but if I have to I will. How exactly do I create a new user on a mac?

  • Front Row doesn't shows my photos - error message

I'm having problems with front row when I try to show images. When I choose this option, front row shows an error message similar to this: Front Row encountered a Problem, press play to continue. When I press play, it exits the program.
I reinstalled the MacOs and it kept the problem. I created a new user, and on this front row is working.
    Any help??

    No help.

Even Aprture 3,1,1 doesn't fix this problem.

  • Panel doesn't show Power On ligh

    Hello!
I just switched to the new EVGA nVidia 780i SLI motherboard, but when I got back home from the shop and plugged my computer up, the power lights didn't show on the?external panel box with my Soundblaster X-FI Elite soundcard.
There's light on the Soundcard inside the case (the X-FI logo on the side of the card), but it's as if the external box doesn't get power to turn on.
Any ideas what's up with this?
Do I need to unplug everything, remove and delete all Creative drivers, re-plug and re-install from scratch or what?
    Cheers,
    bassa

The issue is with the I/O Console. The power plug is connected, and I haven't touched a thing besides switching to the new motherboard, but now when I've plugged the power cable from the soundcard itself back into the back of the I/O console, it doesn't turn on anymore.
Is there a known issue to this, or does somebody know what to do?
