You are lucky. I am yet to setup front speakers at ALL on a 7. system. The sound card simply wont output the separate channels correctly.
The front speakers output on the Back rear speakers. The subwoofer outputs on the centre speaker and the centrespeaker works on the subwoofer depending what Mood the sound card is in.
I have tried different cables and the problem has been identified specificly as the sound card.
The only reason i bought one of these cards was becos my motherboard sound died, i had no problems like this before getting a soundblaster.

    Hi mikefrompoland,
For more information about 5.1 Surround Sound in iTunes, you may find the following article helpful (it is primarily aimed at Mac users, but the settings in Windows should be similar):

  • Front speakers don't get sound, but rears

I have an Audigy 2 ZS with the logitech z-560's. The setup was working fine, but somehow, the front speakers haven't been working. I tested the connections, and they are fine...i even tried connecting it to a different computer, and the speakers worked fine. The software, however, is where I think the problem lies. If anybody can help me, that would be awesome... Thanks

Try the card on another machine. That will isolate if it's the card jack faulty.

  • Sound from front speakers only

I am using optical audio with Sony DAV-DZ810 home theater and my Apple TV2. The system is new and I am not very familiar. When I watch a trailor (have not watched a movie yet) on ATV2, I notice that sound only comes from two front speakers only. No sound is heard from center and rear speakers.
    Can anyone please advise?

    Normal.
Trailers do not usually have 5.1 surround.
Not all movies have 5.1 surround either - it should say or show the dolby icon on the movie preview screen and once you choose to rent it often says you are renting film x which has surround surround (or something like that).

  • Sticky This : Surround Sound coming out of front speakers and Subwoofer not work

The problem with Creative forum moderators and the like is that they have used their products so often that they forget the basic really simplistic things and as a result have a lot of frustrated customers (As indicated by the number of?problem posts?when this really need not be the case)? After building myself a media center with Windows XP (Yes the best DVD backup software is made for XP) my?X-Fi card Surround, Centre and Front Speakers were all mapped together for sound. After searching through the forums at many unanswered posts with similar problems I eventually came across the answer a few months back after a few days of reading this forums posts. The problem arises because of the Windows default settings which need to be changed when insatalling the sound card. Which I believe a good driver should be doing anyway. This is the menu path:StartControl PanelSounds and Audio DevicesAudioAdvancedPerformanceHardware Acceleration slide indicator should be on Full, then Apply? At this stage I got all the Speakers to work independently except the Subwoofer?I am not one to sit and study a user manual comprehensi'vely before attempting installation. I normally look for any serious warnings or precautions adhere to them and then slap the thing in and usually everything just happens in the correct sequence or that is how it should be with a new piece of hardware anyway. I use the manual more for problem solving. Anyways my point is that I have not read the manual in depth yet but all must be aware that you need?4-part jacks to get the most out of your?X-Fi sound card. The extra?points are required?in the Center/Subwoofer and Rear Speaker jacks because the extra connections within these jacks are used for SPDIF out on the Center/Subwoofer Jack and Side speakers for your 7. system on the rear speaker jack. (I dunno why they don't just put in 2 extra jacks that are the normal 3-part jacks .....or perhaps it's a way to force you to buy creative speakers which come with very rare?4-part jacks)? The subwoofwer can only be made to work if you pull out the 3-part jack just enough to make the correct contact with the card that gives you subwoofer signal.

    @tryignan ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forum.  I have one question have you tried doing a system restore back to before this problem started.  Something has updated or changed in the drivers or Operating system to cause this.
Have you removed both audio drivers and just ran with the AMD audio driver.
Now did you try this when you removed your drivers.  Try booting into safemode and remove the two audio drivers.
Download your software and drivers for your system and save to dvd or usb memory stick.
Run the Recovery manager to restore software and drivers to factory spec.
Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8)
Now if that fails try doing the full Windows 8 recovery.
Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8)
Please post back and let me know if this was of any help.

  • Playing back Recorded TV Programs using Windows Media Player and only hearing Sound from Front Speakers

    Hi All,
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Service Pack 1 with Windows Media Player 11 installed.
When I click on one of my Recorded TV Programs to watch and hear, I can only hear the Sound coming from the Front Speakers.
When I right-click on the Program and open it up in Real Player Cloud. I can indeed watch the program and hear Clear Sound coming from all 5 Speakers plus the Subwoofer.
What setting do I change to use Windows Media Player and have sound coming from all 5 Speakers and the Subwoofer?
    Thank you!

    That was WaterFox.

When I open the recording in Real Player Cloud, installed on my computer, not streaming over the Internet, I hear it correctly played.
When I use Windows Media Player, nothing can be heard from the Rear Speakers.
Speakers and Hardware are working fine.

  • Rear speakers mapping over front speakers Inspire 5.1 Digital 5500

When I wanted surround on my pc a few years ago, and didn't want to buy a new speaker set, I hooked up my Inspire 5.1 Digital 5500 to my Audigy 2 ZS. The only way to do this was by plugging the different speaker inputs directly from the subwoofer connection panel into the various output ports of my card. Thus skipping the 5500's decoder/volume control device which is only hooked up to provide power to the sub/speaker system. Volumes are set on the audigy card itself.
This has worked fine for a few years and gave no problems whatsoever upto now. Even to the point where I replaced my Audigy 2 for a X-FI Fatality because I thought my soundcard was screwed. With the X-Fi it worked correctly for a day and then it went wrong again. I can't get it to work right and am clueless what the problem is. But I presume it's something in the speaker system.
    What happens is as follows:
My rear channels are so soft they almost sound muted. Changing the settings/levels in the speaker settings or THX calibration doesn't make any difference whatsoever. And the majority of the sound that has to go to the back gets mapped on the front speakers. This is also the case with the speaker test and not a dolby/dts/surround problem.
    Front Left is ok
    Front Right is ok
Front Center gets played by Front Center AND Front Left (soft volume) AND Front Right (soft volume)
Rear Left gets played by mainly FRONT Left (and very softly on Rear Left)
Rear Right gets played by mainly FRONT Right (and very softly on Rear Right)
I rewired, checked cables, (replaced the soundcard from Audigy 2 to X-FI), reinstalled drivers and reinstalled windows. I'm now clueless and got no idea how to get it fixed.
I also tried hooking them up through the optical cable on the X-FI bay and having them properly wired to the 5500's decoder device. But that was even less successfull (only getting a lot of static white noise and no audio signal whatsoever) I also read this won't get me surround anyways except for when true surround sources get played (dvd playback etc), so I stopped going down that path and have them back on the normal minijack plugs.
Please help. I don't want to have to invest in another speaker system. Especially not after the expensive audio card replacement which apparently wasn't necessary.
I also don't get it how a rear signal can end up on the front speakers. When they are seperate cables. Or is there a decoder in the sub-unit as well which may have been broken?
    Thanks in advance.

  • No sound or very poor one from front speakers T7900 system

I have a T7900 system and sudenly I have no more sound or a very poor one from the front speakers (left and right). The others (central, rear and subwoofer are working fine). I tried all configurations posible and from the control panel but still no result.

    Hi,
Try swapping the front speakers with the others, this should tell you if the speakers are faulty. You might want to get in touch with support for further assistance on this.

  • VFL Speaker sound from both the front speakers while FR sound is not coming out at all.

I have a creative gigaworks s750 connected to a xtreme gamer sound card. The system was working absolutely fine but now it has started behaving very strangely; system is playing back Front Left Speaker sound from both the front speakers while Front Right sound is not coming out at all. If i click the front right speaker in audio console speaker setup wizard, no sound comes. However when i click the front left speaker, sound comes out of both speakers. I counter checked it with playing 5.1 dts movie and muting all the speakers except the front left one from ac3 filter, sound came out of both the front speakers. However when i muted all the channel except the front right, no sound was coming out of front right speaker.

Just want to add another relieved reader of this thread.  I had lost the sound to my speakers even though I had sound to headphones. I was convinced it was a damaged headphone jack because I had pushed the headphone plug in harder the last evening when my wife complained that she could still hear the speakers while I listened with the headphones.  The next morning--no speaker sound.
I spent a few hours searching the web to see how to disassemble a satellite A505 and get to the jack.  But I wasn't even sure I could get a proper replacement jack that fit, and I was concerned that small damage, say to the ribbon connectors could render the computer useless--a large price to pay for just missing audio.
Fortunately, I stumbled onto this thread and I recalled I had put the unit to sleep the night before--something I don't usually do, but I didn't want all the Chrome web sites to have to reload so I just put it to sleep.
When I put it to sleep again and fired it up--Sound!  I am so glad to find this solution so I just want to let people know it remains a viable option.

  • Only sound in the front speakers, AUDIGY 2

I own an Audigy 2 ZS, I have to format my machine and then reinstall my devices but when I play a DVD I don?t hear any sound in the rear speakers or in the center speaker, I activate CMSS and configure the speakers. When I test the speakers all of them are working, what can be the problem?

You need a software player (e. g. PowerDVD) or hardware who does decoding because the audigy does not do it (at least mine didnt).
With PowerDVD you would need to activate 6 channel output and dolby sourround in his options.
If you do not get it to run try it over coax but remember that you might have to activate coax in your softplayer as well.

  • XP x64, all surround speaker signals going to front speakers

Wanted to document an issue I found while trying to use my audigy 4 card with XP x64. Yes, I know you are probably looking at my spec at the bottom and asking why use XP x64. Or why after spending so much money on the pc, could you not afford a better sound card? Or why not use the on-board audio?
Well I am awaiting to upgrade the sound card until a few more HDMI enabled cards come to the marked this year. Also I wanted to play some older games that support eax (which my on-board audio does not support fully) and did not want to go through setting up the emulation stuff in Vista.
Anyway after getting the OS setup, I started looking at the sound setup and discovered that all but the two front speakers are not working. If set to 7. in audio console and windows audio panel then the signals to the side and rear speakers either don't work or come out of the front two speakers.
Odd I thought since vista, I am using on my another hard disk (I just select which HDD I want to boot from at boot), using the same driver version, the sound works perfectly (so not a hardware or cabling issue).
    I tried drivers:
    SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
    SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe
    SBAX_PCDRVBETA_US_2_8_000.exe
In that order. All gave the same results. Did the normal things like driver cleaning etc.
Then just for a laugh after hearing about old resolved issues with the drivers on systems with more than 4 Gb's of Ram, I removed some of my memory. And low and behold when only one? of the 3 channels of 2 Gb of memory is installed then it all works, full surround is back. But with 2 channels for a total of 4 Gb or 3 channels for a total of 6Gb of ram, I get this problem of only getting sound from the front two speakers.
When I get the time I will try installing XP x32 to see if it not being able to all of my memory will help. Will post if it makes any difference.

@Re: XP x64, all surround speaker signals going to front speakers& Same hell to me with my old Audigy 2 Value. Rear was redirected to front, and center was upmixed with front, all in 5. nati've mode. Stereo surround worked well although. In my old mobo, Asrock Dual Sata 2 had an option to disable the 4Gb ram detection. Although I had 3Gb, with this option disabled I only accessed 2,8 Gb, no big deal. I survi'ved. But with my new Asus M3A32-MVP there was no option to disable 4Gb detection, and for that, the issue is always present in XP x64.
It's driver compatibility with XP x64. That's all. Audigy driver can't handle it in XP x64. In Vista/7 is fixed, but not in Windows XP x64 Edition. I tried the same steps that you did, with the same results. XP 32 bit worked well, because it also didn't recognize the full RAM.
The funny thing is I contacted CL tech support and they said all worked well for them. Furthermore EAX effects doesn't wok either (check F.E.A.R. for example).
Sorry, CL tech support HAS TO fix this. I don't know why they have forgotten XP x64 users.

  • P5800 Problem [only front speakers & sub r working]

Hi, i'm portuguese so i hope i can explain my problem in order for u to help me. (sorry for my bad english btw..)
I bought a P5800 speakers system and installed them perfectly with the help of the manual, everything was double-checked and everything is installed fine.
So, i opened WMP10 and selected a mp3 file to listen.. but to my surprise only the front speakers and the sub were working. I thought it could be the cables that were switched, but no, everything is ok. I went to the sound options in the control panel and set the system to 5.1, but nothing happen. My soundcard is an Audigy SE.
What can i do to play music with all the speakers working?
Can someone please help me resolving my problem ? plz...
    Thanks in advance.

I have an Audigy SE and when i try to enable EAX in Creative's software MediaSource Player, a message appears saying "this feature is not available because no supported audio device is detected". Why does this message appear?.... I know my soundcard totally supports EAX.
    Any help? thanks.

  • T6060 and soundblaster live 24bit extrenal front speakers only work!!!!!??? HELP

hey, plz can you help me, only the front two speakers work and no sound comes from the subwoofer, centre speaker of the rear speakers. if i turn on CMSS then i get sound from all but it is not proper surround sound, it is basically playing the same thing that i hear through my front speakers but throuh the other speakers.
i have tried everything, and in really need your help. plz tell me thet this can be fixed!

    hades2point0,
What kind of sources are you playing? MP3's and stereo sources will of course only play in two speakers without CMSS. And CMSS is basically like Dolby ProLogic in that it emulates surround sound from stereo tracks.
If you are playing DVD's, as this device does not support Dolby Digital decoding, then make sure that your DVD playback software supports Dolby Digital decoding thus sending the 5.1 audio to the soundcard for playback.
