Front Steel Panel Issue

Hey, i have a strange problem with E6 Front Silver Panel... whenever i change the memory card the panel near the memory card slot bends a little and now its finally totally bent. Nokia guys changed the phone once but are not ready to accept the fact again.. any ideas ?

Hi Akem
Sorry but I dont understand what you are meaning exactly by front panel?
Do you mean the Toshiba Control buttons like (play, pause stop, etc)
If you are meaning these buttons and if you have removed an drivers which controls these buttons then a solution should be easy.
First of al you should try to set the OS back to the early time point before you have removed this driver. For this you have to use the system restore utility.
Secondly if the procedure described above will not work, try to reinstall the VAP (Value Added Package).

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Front panel issues

    Hello there,
I originally had the Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and all was fine. It all worked and the world was happy. I then (won't go into details) managed to damage the card and whilst I still got sound, the front panel and the joystick port would not work. As it was only the card that was broken, I purchased a new Audigy 2 ZS card assuming I would be able to just stick the front panel connector back on and all would be hunky-dory.
As you probably guessed, I am here, so all is not well. Whilst the game port now works, the front panel still does not respond to anything and I am at a loss. Is there some kind of jumper I need to switch or something? What have I done wrong.
All input is more that welcome, thanks...

i am having front panel issues. i think the damage to the card is a potential problem, but i don't think it's the cause for the panel not working. i think something is just seriously wrong with creative hardware. i really don't think pre-sales testing was performed extensi'vely enough. i have had more problems with my audigy 2 platinum in the 2.5 yrs i've had it than a new born baby. to make a long story short, i did a complete upgrade of my system, the only thing i kept was my case and audigy 2 and front dri've bay. i did nothing different than i had before, re-installed windows and everything. everything EXCEPT the front dri've bay works. i do get the red light from the optical out though, so there is power. i don't know what's wrong with this thing. all i can say is: creative you need to get your s**t together, you have as many issues with your sound blaster cards as microsoft has with windows. tech support: you need to do something for once and answer posts that people ask. i posted my question about this problem 7 months ago when it happened, guess how many repsonses i have. ZERO, NONE, NADA, NOT ONE RESPONSE. i don't blame forum users, not everyone knows, i blame tech support b/c you don't respond. i have no clue why, but do something, please.

  • P6N Sli Platinum front audio panel and CPU temp voltage issues

    Hi All,
I got my P6N Sli Platinum yesterday, build up my computer without any major issues. However I have noticed that my audio front panel does not work. It could not detect my microphone when i plug it into front auido panel, it works fine for the rear auido panel though.
Another issues is I highly doubt the accuracy of CPU temp sensor. Msi 's software monitor reports my CPU temp is around 19-20 degree, I know that's too good to be true even I am using a water cooling system. Btw my cpu is E6600. Anyone else has the similar issues?
The third, I notice my CPU voltage is bouncing between 1.1 to 1.24 in CPU-z. And the multiplier is changing from 6 to 9, frequency is changing from 1.6g to 2.4g. I only see this in CPU-z.  Msi 's own software reports CPU running at 2.4g though. Is this cpuz issue or something else?
Finally, any tips to max the overclock potential of this board? I have overclocked to 3.1g but there are some crashes. Going higher the board just won't boot up. I read a review on anandtech.com says 1.22 bios is good for oc. Where can i download that? I only found 1.1 bios on official site.
    Any reply will be appreciated.
    Cheers

C2D-CPUs have a digital internal sensor to monitor CPU Core temperatures.  Have a look at those with Core Temp ( http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/ ).  This Tool reads the temperature data directly from the register of your CPU. There is nothing wrong with the sensor.  It is rather the MSI tool that does not read the data it provides correctly.

There is no issue.  What CPU-Z allows you to see there is the C1E-feature of your CPU at work.  When there is nothing to do your processor will automatically reduce Core Voltages and frequency to save power and keep temperatures down.  As soon as the work load increases the multiplier is set back to x9 and core voltages increase dynamically.  It is meant to be a good thing.
I have overclocked my system a little and I like that the C1E feature is still working at this speed setting CPU frequency to 2GHz and core voltage to 1.144v when my system is idle.
If you have problems with this feature you can turn it off in BIOS. The option is labeled as "C1E Support" and might be hidden somewhere.  You may be able to hit "F4" to unhide it.
The MSI utilities are not the best tools to monitor your system.  CPU-Z, Core Temp, Everest, Speedfan, Memset, Rightmark Memory Analyzer for example do a far better job.

  • Toshiba Front Operation Panel/Illumination Keys not working

I am unable to toggle wireless on/off, mute/unmute, play/pause using Front operation panel LED keys on my Toshiba Qosmio F60. Currently I need to enable WiFi/Bluetooth from within Windows for it to work. Fn+F8 toggle works as soft block/unblock only if I have already enabled WiFi under Windows. Any ideas as how this can be done? The only LED Touch button that works under Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora is the Volume Up/Down button. Touchpad on/off toggle does not work with physical button above the touchpad or Fn+F9 either. Other Fn+ keys work eg., Fn+Esc for mute/unmute, Fn+F1 for lock etc.
Interestingly even when the WiFi is turned off from within Windows on booting Arch with a pen-drive wifi-menu command detects all surrounding wireless networks properly for the first time. Even rfkill shows as hardware unblocked. But once a network is selected it fails and the subsequent rfkill commands show as hardware blocked.
These problems seems related to Direct App Launch Button which probably can be solved in Linux by quickstart http://quickstart.sourceforge.net/

    keycode 530 press
    keycode 530 press
These are soft keys mentioned here http://www.manualslib.com/manual/180150 … 134#manual
The front panel buttons and the small physical touchpad toggle button above the touchpad do not generate any codes. The Fn+F8 is a multi toggle in Windows after wireless is turned on through the front panel button (first press WiFi on, second press Bluetooth on, third press both WiFI, Bluetooth on, fourth press both off). Also there is no ouput for scancodes when I run showkey -s or xev. Am I missing anything?

  • [SOLVED] Front audio panel still not working on K9N Neo V3

I already posted on this here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=113813.0.
I still didn't get front audio panel to work on MSI K9N Neo V3.
Even with my new case; Sharkoon Revenge, it is not working. It wasn't working on my previous noname case too. However, front audio panel on my previous case was working on several other MBs except on this MSI K9N.
Now, I'm using the latest Realtek HD audio driver.  I think it's from February '08. Just as with the driver dowloaded by Vista via Windows Update, anything plugged in front audio panel isn't recognized. In this new version of Realtek driver I can't find this Disable front audio panel option so I can't tell if it is checked or not.
Once more, there is not much to do wrong while connecting. Case front audio panel cabel is the same as on all other cases I've ever seen/had. It's a cable with the same number and position of pins as in all other cases. It fits fine on MSI K9N Neo V3. Rear audio panel is working fine.
    Any solution to this!?

From what I can see from the Sharkoon product page, the front panel connectors of your case are not compliant with the Intel HD Audio Pin Standard.
Do you have a manual for your case that includes Pin/wire definitions for the front audio connectors?
No. There was no manual in package. I never thought I will need one either.
Here is Sharkoon Rebel Pin Assigment; http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9729/pinslk2.jpg

Have you tried disabling automatic front panel jack detection in the Realtek HD Audio configuration utility?  If you don't know were to find that option, access the tab labeled "Audio I/O" and click on the tool icon.
Yes, I tried disabling it. Two tabs (front audio out and front mic) appeared but none of it works.

From something I read: You can also physically check the audio cable of the front panel audio solution.  If there is a cable connected to Pin 4, you have an HD Audio module; if there is no cable to Pin 4, you have an AC97 module.
I don't really understand this. Could you please check this on Pin Assignment scan I uploaded above!?

  • There is a tiny gap all around the side of my ipod between front aluminium panel and stainless back. Is it normal?

I just bought an Ipod classic and noticed that there is a tiny gap all around the side of ipod between front aluminium panel and stainless back.
    Is it normal?
I am just concerned because when I was given the box at the Futureshop, the box had a big dent on the side.
(as if the box was dropped from 2-3 feet high atleast)
I was wondering the dent would've done something to make that gap on my ipod.
I am thinking to return it if it is defective
    Any advice?
    Thank you

Return it, there should be no gap, for creeepy crawlies to go in and make nest and poop on your iPod circuit.

  • Qosmio F50-10z' s front operation panel doesn't work

My front operation panel doesn't work. I have tried to recovery my computer and reinstall the VAP but it still doesnt work.
    I want to why...

    Hi!
What do you mean with if it doesnt work?
If you try to install a newer version of Toshiba Value Added Package you should remove the old version first. Reboot the notebook and install the newer one.
Last but not least try to update the BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba website:

  • Front audio panel not working on K9N Neo V3

A new problem with MSI K9N Neo V3 MB...
I just found out that Front audio panel is not working (no mic, no line out). I checked the cable 3 times. Seems to be OK. Front panel was working on a previous ASUS motherboard.
    - All drivers according to vista are working fine.
    - Back panel sound (eveything) is working fine.
    - Sound panel says that front panel mic & line-out are not plugged in.
Is there a switch to turn this on? Or maybe some special driver?
Or it is just useless, and working on MB package advertisment only?

  • Front panel issues

    Hi All,
I had a question about the front panel connectors. I have a Lian-Li PC60 series case. On the JFP1 slot I have the reset and power switch configured correctly in that they both work.
However the HHD and Power LED aren't working. The HDD LED glows a constant red (the hard drive is functioning normally) and the Power LED isn't working at all.
My case doesn't have the two pin HDD and Power LED connectors that connect to JFP1, only one 3 pin Power LED connector that connects under the 4 pin speaker connector in JFP2. I figured I might have reversed the correct side and connected positive to ground, but after changing that, it doesn't work either way.
Both LED's functioned with my old IC-7G board.
    Any ideas?
Other than that the PC appears to be working fine.

They seem a little high i'm no expert on your CPU or its temp, other than knowing the max is about 70C. Check temp in bios its usually more accurate.
Check any literature that came with CPU or try
AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor Power and Thermal Data Sheet
    Mine 3200 (754) shows 38C - 53C Idle/Load
It's certainly not dangerous or something to be overly concerned about, just something you might want to investigate at your liesure.

  • 7,1 was a dream: Media shortcuts/front panel issues

    Hey
I have a Dell Inspiron 6400. On the front it have this Media Shortcuts / Frontpanel
In iTunes 7.1 they did work. Like, I could minimize iTunes, use other programs and still I could change songs and stuff. But after all the updates on iTunes, this ability is gone. It's only with Windows Media Player it'll work.
Anyone have an idea about how I can fix this?
(or that Apple could fix this and keep it in their iTunes in the future)

Could you clarify a bit on how the PXI-6528 was acting while you were seeing these problems? Does this card have values display on the Remote Front Panel, and if so were they still updating properly? I believe you were saying that, but I wanted to be sure because that makes a big difference.
If everything became static, including the DIO card, at the same time, then I'd say see if your browser updated, or something in your network settings was changed without you noticing. Perhaps an update ran and reset some of your firewall settings, or an Internet Explorer update changed something that required a reboot.
If just the outputs of chassis 2 were the problem, and the DIO card values on your remote front panel still worked well, then it is most likely a problem with your MXI-4 cards or your fiber optic cable that cause the change in behavior.

  • RT Remote Front Panel issues.

    I'll start with my setup:
    2 PXI-1042 chassis connected via fiber-optic using NI PXI-8336 (MXI-4) cards.
    Chassis 1:  PXI-8108 embedded controller running LabVIEW Real-time OS (2010), PXI-6528 DIO, PXI-8336 MXI-4.
    Chassis 2:  MXI-4 in slot 1, 4 PXI-8334 DMM, PXI-6528 DIO, PXI-6281 M-series DAQ.
The real-time executable monitors analog and digital inputs and DMM measurements, displays the values using numeric and boolean indicators, generates alarms and allows users to acknowledge alarms via a Remote Front Panel.  The code has a custom error handler that traps errors and stores them in a global array.  This allows the code to display them on a console and allows the user to acknowledge and clear errors, and scroll through multiple error messages.  We used property nodes sparingly.
The system is monitored by two laptops with the correct run-time engine installed (both laptops have the LabVIEW development suite).  Under normal conditions, one laptop keeps control of the Remote Front Panel at all times.
    The problem:
The system was running flawlessly for 3 months of continuous use.  Then, for no apparent reason, the indicators that display measurements from "Chassis 2" (specifically the DAQ) stopped updating.
If the user refreshed the browser, the Remote Front Panel client would reconnect to the RT Web Server and get updated values, but they were always static.  Essentially, refreshing the browser took a "snapshot" of the data, but the indicators did not update continuously as before.  At the same time, DIO inputs to "Chassis 1" responded appropriately to changes in state.
Refreshing the browser on one laptop would update the values for that laptop only, and the other laptop could be refreshed independently and have different values displayed, but both laptop's indicators were static.  During this time, the DMM measured inputs were not changing and the "Chassis 2" DIO inputs did not change state (i.e., we could not perturb the inputs), so we could not determine if those indications were affected.
Also, the error console did not respond to user input until the browser was refreshed and the client reconnected to the target.
We know the RT application is running on the target because there is code that monitors the status of the loops by changing state every loop iteration and displays the status to the user.
Our short-term solution was to reboot the RT controller by powering down both chassis, starting "Chassis 2", then starting "Chassis 1".  It's been running for a few days now without incident.
Since the data displayed after refresh was accurate based on comparison to gages in the system, we do not suspect a measurement problem.
    Possible culprits:
    1.  The RT Web Server has malfunctioned in some way (memory problems, synchronization, etc.)
    2.  The MXI-4 link.
    3.  Cosmic rays?  Sunspots?  Nearby radar stations?  Neighboring HAM radio operators (with massive amplifiers)?
If anyone has any ideas, they are welcome.  We are concerned that this will be an ongoing problem, if only every few months or so.

Could you clarify a bit on how the PXI-6528 was acting while you were seeing these problems? Does this card have values display on the Remote Front Panel, and if so were they still updating properly? I believe you were saying that, but I wanted to be sure because that makes a big difference.

  • Splitting front & back panel analog audio

    Hello,
I'm new to arch linux, and I'm trying to reproduce what I was doing using Windows: I have my headphones and my speakers always connected to my computer, and I switched output "by the OS" whenever I wanted to.
Here, in arch linux, I see I have (in gnome sound panel) the two analog outputs I'd like to switch to when necessary: headphones and line-out.
However, both of them seem to output audio only to headphones.
    I've tried different things:
    - If I remove Auto-Mute, I can have the audio output on both front and back panel. However, if I re-enable it, I just have front panel analog audio
    - I've tried this, without impact: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pu … ont.2Frear
I guess it's not a real problem with pulse audio but more with drivers. However, I don't know how to fix it.
    Would profiles help? http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Softwar … /Profiles/
I doubt it, but if it's the way to go, I'd like to learn about it.
Here is info about my hardware:

And about my pulse audio sinks:

Indeed, they are both plugged at the same time, and I want to select my "unique" output.
MSC wrote:One thing you could try is muting the headphone output before switching to line out in PulseAudio, or vice versa. See also if you can control the volume independently - can you turn the headphone volume all the way down without also silencing the speakers?
I can't control them independently. Turning the volume down for headphones silences the speakers.
MSC wrote: Failing that, is auto-mute the only setting your card provides, or are there others? IIRC Gnome hides a lot of switches by default; you can see the full list of settings by running alsamixer in a terminal. You should also look over the ALSA page on the wiki if you haven't already. My guess is that it's not an issue with the hardware itself, but rather some setting that needs to be toggled.
I don't see much more in alsamixer... I've tried toggling everything up/down, the only way to output on the speakers (back panel) is to switch Auto-Mute on/off.
In the alsa page, I only see that part as relevant: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AL … g_speakers However, it's for HDMI, which is not the case here.
    Maybe changing alsa model?
    I'm kinda lost...

  • "ghost" audio panel issues

    hi,
have a g77a-g41 with a 2600k and 16 gigs ddr3. simple setup with a 180 gb 330 series boot drive and two 2tb seagates secondary drives. onboard auio. just fried my 650 watt ultra p/s and just briefly hooked up a 750watt hybrid p/s to make sure i was correct about p/s outage as i have a h60 cooler to slap in subsequently so i just had the 330 ssd plugged in and nothing else except the hdmi cable. when reveling in my satisfaction i was correct i unfortunately got repeated idiot messages about i believe front panel audio (maybe back) "you plugged in something , was it this or that?". thats cool when i actually plug something in but negative in this case. i usually use both back panels for two 2.1 systems and front is vacant. i know i mistakenly tugged(but not hard) on front panel header wires when unplugging mess of power supply wires but didn't continue when noticed the slightest bit of resistance. anyways, anyone had similar issues? if this occurs subsequent to triple checking everything i'll probably disable onboard and score an aftermarket sound card but i am satisfied(or was) with what i had and dont like tossing away coin so any help would be appreciated.
    kind regards
    larry

thanks for the quick reply. the one usb port off the front panel works/ same grouping of headers but i really was just verifying that my power supply was the issue. i am rebuilding my dads machine today or swapping a drive i just ghosted due to "immanent hardware failure message" or something like that on his branded pc today. i know my machine auto selected the hdmi for output but didn't even have p/s screwed in and only had 24 pin, 8pin power and one sata power connector hooked up from power supply and i Need to 2x check everything out. kept saying something was plugged in, then out, etc. probably 3 times in the 2 or 3 minutes it was running. going to get the water cooler in there by week end and will let you know what happens.
    thanks again for quick reply
