Froze on AC Adapter Icon

I updated my mini now it is froze on the ac adapter icon.
I dont have the ac adapter, will a car charger work instead?
or is there a way to get it back to the way it was before i tried to update it?

All,
I had the same issue!... I have first generation Ipod Mini. I updated the firmware and the update wouldn't finish until I plug in the Adaptor (Wall Plug Icon).
I plugged in the Ipod using Ipod charger to the wall and it got stuck up to that point and won't finish up the update. The Ipod still show either Apple Icon or Wall Plug Icon.
I gave up and called tech support for help but they told me that I have to pay for support (out of warranty). I searched the Apple support website instead and still no help.
Finally, I went to Apple's store around my area and asked the guy in the store in the Genius Bar area to see it. All he had to do is plug it in using his adaptor and suddenly the Ipod is finishing up the update progress!!!! It's working fine now!....
So, my recommendation is.... go to the Apple Store and ask the tech guy there to try their Ipod power plug. I don't know what happened to my Ipod power plug but at least I know that my Ipod is not broken
Good luck!

  • Update Error- Froze on AC Adapter Icon

I recently updated my 1st generation iPod mini and now it is stuck on the icon with the AC adapter plugging in to the wall. I have tried resetting it and changing it to disk mode but nothing is working. Anyone have any ideas how to fix? Thanks.

  • IPod 4th Gen. Stuck on AC ADAPTER icon

So, I have a 20GB iPod 4th Gen and it was working fine. Haven't used it much over the last few years. However, all was operational. Recently pulled off old songs to transfer back to my Mac, everything was visible (hard drive and songs in iTunes) and it worked fine in the newest Bose SoundDock . . . battery was certainly weak by now I'm sure. Never had problems with it at all over the years . . .
Anyhow, went to restore it and upgrade the software and all seemed OK. Used the USB 2.0 cable to do that in iTunes. Looked good . . .
Went to go and plug it in with the original AC Adapter (which is only for FireWire) as instructed and got stuck with the AC Adapter icon and won't complete the operation (tried 2 FireWire cables). Tried resetting, no dice. AC icon appeared each time.
Now it has a battery charge Icon . . .
    I can't believe it's now seemingly bricked!
    So, I'm hoping it's 2 easy things:
    1.) Bad AC adapter
    2.) Bad battery
So annoyed, because I probably could have used it for years plugged into the SoundDock or USB adapter, had I left it alone.
    Any ideas?

Plugged into SoundDock, which must have charged it enough to now show the AC Adapter "plug-in" icon. Still no dice.
I know this is an old unit, but there has to be a logical solution. Any experience or solving advice appreciated.

  • Frozen on plug in to mains power adapter icon after update

I updated the software on my ipod recently only to find it then frozen with an unknown icon. I checked the support website to see what this meant and apparently I have to complete the update by plugging my ipod into a mains socket via an adapter.
The only problem with this is that I don't have a mains adaptor - I have only ever charged my ipod via the USB cable and don't remember seeing a mains adapter. Is there a way to bypass this step of the update so I can use my ipod again or will I have to go out and buy a mains adapter?

You need to plug it into the mains adapter to finish the update.
Are you sure your iPod didn't come with one?
Either way, if there's an Apple Store near you, bring it in & ask one of the Geniuses to plug it in for you. That ought to do the trick

  • 30g vid ipod froze, now showing multiple icons and unable to restart

today while mowing the lawn (which i listen to music doing) my ipod froze. i dropped it on the grass earlier, and there wasn't any dirt on it but i got worried I restart it with menu+select and then the ipod/support sad face pops up. so i finish mowing the lawn, go inside and plug my ipod into my computer naturally to see if it pops up. Well, my ipod restarts itself, the support icon shows up again, and then the charging icon pops up, replacing the sadface ipod. The charging battery logo will blink a couple of times and after a minute or so it restarts again, sadface, charge, and goes the process again! The funny thing is, that there was plenty of battery life when i was listening to it!! over half for sure. I've only had my ipod for 3 months and it has a good case. only been dropped twice. i'm very upset with this and i'd appreciate some help . maybe it needs some charging but i realy need some advice.
    thanks
    -PJTalls

Try keeping it plugged into your computer for awhile, I had a similar problem and it just took time to resolve. If all else fails, restore your ipod.

  • HT6058 During the installation of the ios 7.0.4 update my screen froze with the iTunes icon and arrow under that and a picture of the usb plug under that.  Thanks for messing up my perfectly well functioning IPad 2 with your lousy update!  What now?

During the ios 7.0.4 update, my IPad 2 froze.  The picture on the screen is an iTunes icon, and arrow inder that and a picture of the apple usb cord.  It will not go away.  I have tried hard and soft turn offs.  Please help!

    Philly:
When there is an iOS update available, iTunes asks if you want to install it. I chose to only download the iOS 7.0.6 update, but not to install it until I had done a backup of everything on my iPad. When that iOS 7.0.6 update failed, I had NO iOS at all, just a bricked iPad.
When my son did a "clean restore" that was the same thing you'd do to wipe an iPad - just install iOS 7.0.6 and install basic iPad apps.  When you turn the iPad on after that, it indicates it wants to be connected to iTunes. At that point, my son yanked the cord so nothing else was installed.  Then, with iOS 7.0.6 already installed, iTunes on my PC didn't say it wanted to update iOS, and allowed me to choose my previous backup to be restored. All was straightforward after that.
Again, there are places on he web where you can download various versions of iOS, along with a PC utility that will do the iOS update. I think these utilities are for when you want to hack your device, so I'm not crazy about this approach.

  • IPod Adapter icon appears and nothing else happens HELP

i got this ipod and all of a sudden a picture (icon) appears on the screen its a picture of a ipod Usb port adapter and nothing else happens its stuck there if anyone knows what to do please help.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Post the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message. When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • HT201210 I tried to update my iPod to the latest version and it didn't complete.  says it could not be updated and my iPod froze with the apple icon and the progression bar.  it won't go away. iTunes doesnt recognize the device.

I tried to update the latest version for the iPod touch and it couldn't complete the install.  my iPod screen had the apple icon with the progression bar when it couldn't update and it stuck there.  iTunes doesn't recognize my device.
How do I restore, if iTunes doesn't see my iPod?

Plug your device into iTunes. Hold the home & sleep buttons at the same time. After 10 secs release the 2 buttons. iTunes will tell you it's found a device in DFU mode. The iPod screen will stay black. At this point do a restore. If you see the Apple logo you have held them for too long.

  • How to adapt icon colors to component's foreground color?

I want to display a transparent png-icon on a JButton. How can i change the color of non-transparent (foreground-)pixels in the png-icon to the foreground color of the JButton?

You'll need to study up some on basic CSS terms.
    CSS Tutorial
Align is invalid code.  What you probably want is:
         text-align:left;
         text-align:center;
         text-align:right;
Clear is only applicable to floated elements.   It doesn't remove colors.
    footer {
         color: #FFF; /**this is white text**/
         background-color: #000; /**this is black background**/
    /**or**/
         background:none;

  • ORACLE VIRTUAL DIRECTORY - Create Local Store Adapter

    Hi,
I have some problem with the LSA creation.
    I follow this steps:
*5.2 Creating a Local Store Adapter*
Create Local Store Adapter dc=oracle,dc=com, as follows:
    *1.*
Access Oracle Directory Services Manager, as described in "Accessing Oracle Directory Services Manager".
    *2.*
Click the Adapter tab. On the Adapter page:
    *1.*
Click the Create Adapter icon and choose Local Store Adapter.
    *2.*
    Enter the Adapter name LSA.
    *3.*
    Leave Template set to Default.
    *4.*
    Click Next.
    *3.*
    On the Settings page:
    *1.*
    Enter the Adapter Suffix/Namespace dc=oracle,dc=com.
    *2.*
    Enter data/localDB for Database File.
    *3.*
Use the default values for the rest of the fields on the Settings page.
    *4.*
    Click Next.
    *4.*
Review the summary page and click Finish if everything looks correct.
    Note:
If, for some reason, you decide to delete the adapter and create a new one, use a different Adapter name and a different Database File name.
    *5.3 Adding Entries*
Create an entry in the local store as follows:
    *1.*
Using a text editor, create an LDIF file that looks like this:
    version: 1
    dn: dc=oracle,dc=com
    objectclass: top
    objectclass: domain
    dc: oracle
    *2.*
Access Oracle Directory Services Manager, as described in "Accessing Oracle Directory Services Manager".
    *3.*
    Click the Data Browser tab.
    *4.*
    Highlight dc=oracle,dc=com under Client View.
    *5.*
    Click the Import LDIF icon.
    *6.*
Browse to the LDIF file you created and click Open.
When I try to import the ldif I have this error:
    __ldap_add: Object class violation (65)__

    Can you help me?
    best regardes
    Alessandro

    Hi Saggu,
You are absolutely right. It's working fine now. I need to know one more like performance.
If i have three adapters in the adapter configuration, and 21 adapters in the adapter configuration.
Which kind of configuration will help to improve the performance?
    Two Scenarios:
    1. Three Adapters
    2. 21 Adapters.
    Explanation:
    1. Adapters are mapped at Root DN level.
    Example: dc=company,dc=groups,dc=com
    2. Adapters are mapped to interior level.
    Example: ou=Firstgroup,o=initialemp,dc=company,dc=group,dc=com
Based on the above two scenarios which mapping is the best regarding the performance level.
Can you please suggest me on this performance issue.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sandeep D
