    Hi, beth.lau.gr.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand you have been experiencing issues with your iPhone restarting and showing you a blue screen.  I wont be able to give you an exact answer as to why this is happening.  However, this is the most relevant troubleshooting article for this issue.  This article also provides options to reach out to us via phone for additional assistance.
If your iOS device restarts, displays the Apple logo, or powers off while you're using it

  • After update of ios for my ipod touch and plugging it into my laptop to connect to itunes it just froze.it goes from red battery back to apple icon.what can i do?

i update my ipod touch to ios 6 and now the ipod doesn't charge and it shows red battery then goes back to apple icon.i think its frozen.i need help.
    can anyone help?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT201210 I tried to update my iPod to the latest version and it didn't complete.  says it could not be updated and my iPod froze with the apple icon and the progression bar.  it won't go away. iTunes doesnt recognize the device.

I tried to update the latest version for the iPod touch and it couldn't complete the install.  my iPod screen had the apple icon with the progression bar when it couldn't update and it stuck there.  iTunes doesn't recognize my device.
How do I restore, if iTunes doesn't see my iPod?

Plug your device into iTunes. Hold the home & sleep buttons at the same time. After 10 secs release the 2 buttons. iTunes will tell you it's found a device in DFU mode. The iPod screen will stay black. At this point do a restore. If you see the Apple logo you have held them for too long.

  • Apple icon clicking on and off?!?!?!?

My nano froze and I was kindly pushed in the direction of restoring my nano on disk format...whcih I did and everything started working okay-ish! Then after going back to normal format the apple icon appeared and for a short while I had the normal screen, but the apple came back and has been clicking on and off ever since (I say clicking not flashing because I can actually hear the click when the icon goes off!!!)
I am really stuck now...the battery is charged, I have reset...reset....reset....restored on disk format....and still it isn't working!!!!!
    Please someone help me!!!

jack...sounds lik the click wheel is almost in a permanently pressed state and it's making the Nano re-set? If you haven't used your one free call to ttech support, I'd use it now....if there's a defect, Apple will fix it.

  • Frozen screen...stuck on apple icon after turning on

ok my iphone froze so i powered down my phone and tried to restart it. The apple icon appears and disappears and does it again viscious cycle so i can t use my phone all i can do is turn it off what should i do? Aaaaargh!!!

First, try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If that doesn't work, connect to iTunes and restore.

  • Iphone frozen on apple icon, won't start up

Installing an update to an ap and it froze up. Turned iphone off and when I tried to turn back on it's frozen on the apple icon and won't do anything.

First thing to try is hold down the home and power buttons for around 30 seconds until the screen turns black and the apple reappears. When it reappears release the buttons.
If that doesn't work, connect the device to iTunes. And then... http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766

  • My computer turns on but its remains with a gray screen that has the apple icon

My daughter was using our computer to download some music from Itunes onto her psp. She said the computer froze and she forced it to restart. The computer turns on the apple icon shows up and a load bar under that shows up then dissapears and it remains with a gray screen. I have tried several times time to restart it and it does the same thing. Can anyone help?

Have you had the chance to look over and begin using the Gray screen appears during startup or the Gray progress bar appears under Apple logo during startup articles?

  • PowerBook Won't start-up: Eternally Spinning Clock at Apple Icon

Hi. I have a G4 PowerBook (details below). During a business trip last week it started acting funny so I used DiskUtility (running from the start-up internal system hard drive on the PowerBook) to attempt to repair permissions. This repair attempt froze about ¾ of the way through (despite an overnight trial) so I had to do a hard reboot. At that point I could not get the computer to work. Specifically, when I attempt to start, I get to the gray screen with the Apple logo on it and the spinning clock. This spinning symbolic clock will run all night without getting to the log-in screen.
    What I’ve tried:
    1. Applejack. The Command-S key combo still gets me into single user mode and I can type “applejack auto restart” and everything will run, but at the end of it all I am again left with the Apple icon and the eternally spinning clock logo.
    2. DiskWarrior v3.03: I start with the DiskWarrior CD in and repair my hard drive directory just fine.
    3. Tiger DVD installer: DiskUtility runs fine from here and I’ve repaired the internal hard drive and permissions several times. This also tells me that S.M.A.R.T. status is verified.
I’m completely out of ideas. Any suggestions as to how to get my PowerBook back up and running would be most appreciated. If I can’t get it up and running, is there any way I can grab the data from the last week of work off of it using target mode or some other trick (unfortunately, FileValut is enabled on the PowerBook)?
    Thank you very much!!!

Go to this post at the MacFixIt forums:
    here
Many kind people gave good advice; however, as detailed in that post, I had to eventually just reinstall software. You might try some of the other suggestions posted by folks there before reinstalling the system. Hope this helps.

Last resort- try putting it into disk mode- I was able to do this with mine and the computer was able to see it. So try to put it into disk mode http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651 then restore it http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
If this doesn't work- your hard drive may be bad and it will need to be replaced- i used ipodmods.com and they did a good job

  • My iPad wont switch on.Get Apple icon then itunes and cable icons appear

For approx a week, whilst viewing/surfing internet, ipad has switched itself back to Home Screen.,yesterday the Home screen froze so I decided to switch the ipad off and on. Unfortunately, it wouldnt switch back on, it loaded up to Apple icon, then after a few seconds, screen changed and itunes logo appeared and underneath was a picture of connector cable with an arrow pointing to itunes logo? have tried connecting the ipad by cable to laptop but other than ipad syncing with itunes, nothing is happening re ipad restarting.
Would appreciate any advice/help but have to say, Im a real technophobe!

    YOU ARE IN RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

  • IPod Frozen with Only Apple Icon Showing

My third generation iPod completely froze today. The screen displays only the Apple icon, whether the iPod is connectied to nothing, to the charger through the dock, or to the computer. When it is connected to the computer, the iPod is not recognized -- it's icon does not show on the Desktop nor does it appear in the Source column of iTunes.
I've tried all the usual troubleshooting stetps, resetting, cycling the Hold switch then resetting, doing a ceremonial dance around the thing, etc., all to no avail. Any suggestions from anyone who might have had the same experience?

  • When I turn on my iMac it comes up with the icon which I then log into. The password works and I then get the apple icon and the spinning wheel. After a minute it turns into a prohibited icon. If I log on the guest icon I get to Safari. Help!

When I turn on my iMac it comes up with the login icons which I then choose and log into. The password works and I then get the apple icon and the spinning wheel. After about a minute the Apple icon turns into a prohibited icon. However, if I log in under the guest icon, I can access the wifi and get to Safari. I really don't know what to do next. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Are you running any A-V? If it's an iMac 21.5, I don't think you're running Leopard, 10.5. Probably at least Snow Leopard, 10.6. This is the Leopard forum.
This article says meant for 10.3.9 and eariler, but contains some still useful suggestions.

Try a Safe Boot. Shift at the startup chime and expect a much longer time to boot. This will bring you to a login screen with "Safe Boot" in red.
    Look at this as well.
