Froze on black screen and power button does not work

my sons ipod touch is stuck on a black screen when plugged into the computer got a spinning wheel and will not connect now spinning wheel will not go away the power button does not work so can not reset it manually
any suggestions would be appreciated

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Neglect the reset and when it says place the iPod in recovery mode use one of thes programs
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I know that i have to fix but the problems is that the warranty is been over for long i need to know a good place to repair because the apple people said they could not fix it. I live in Texas so somewhere close would be nice.

    Remi,
How long did you hold these buttons for? Did you try more than once?  Have you tried letting it charge for a bit and trying again?

I am having MacBook Pro 3 yrs old and today while I was watching some movie on it suddenly it got power off and when I am trying to start it, it's power button is not working even the round button on external left side is not showing battery lights. But when I connect it to chrger then Charger only gives green light and even the external round button only shown 4 green lights (if charger connected). I don't know what to do now

Sounds like you need a #1SMC Reset
    1. SMC reset
    >>Instructions to reset SMC
Disconnect other non-Apple and external hardware except (if applicable) a mouse and keyboard until your finished repairing your machine.
Problems solved: Fans blowing with no activity, machine is not booting, power button pressed and nothing happens, problems with indicators, Magsafe has wrong lights, battery is not charging, monitor and graphics issues etc.  If the battery is not charged (from like letting it sleep too long), let the Mac charge up awhile afterwards.
Will not hurt the machine resetting if it's not broken.
    Other related hardware problems (optional):
Check battery status: Hold option/alt key down while clicking on the battery icon in the menu bar, top right corner.
Magsafe: Use the correct/matching power supply charger with your Mac, not a less powered one from another Mac.

  • Satellite P20: Fn+F5 and TV-button does not work

Satellite P20, Windows XP SP2 keyboard problem.
When I press Fn + F5, the computer does not show as earlier the different display options. TV button does not work also. I can change the different displays with my nVidia Display Driver.
My keyboard is OK, there is no dust or fluids. I have newest BIOS update and Windows XP Service Pack 2. What program controls the keyboard functions in this case?
    How to repair this problem?

    Hello
Obviously you have removed something or preinstalled your own operating system. Without Toshiba designed tools and utilities it will not work. I dont know exactly which of them are for doing this but please try to install Dritek Easy Button Util. /Sticky Keys V1.008, E-Keys Utilities and Toshiba Hotkey Utility.
I hope it will help. If not please write again.

  • Speaker and main button does not work

My iphone suddenly fall down and after my speaker and main button is not working. other things are ok. So how can I fix this hardware problem?

Send it to a Apple Store to request for repairs.
Or restart the iPhone and see if the home button will work again. It could be that the OS is not detecting it or is not responding.

You will have to restore the phone and set up as New. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212. The part you need is near the bottom, "If you have never synced your device with iTunes...". You will lose any content that is not backed up in iCloud.

  • Iphone 5 lock screen and power button no longer works?

With my iPhone 5 that I have had for around 10 months the lock/power button hardly ever works. I have to press the button many times and for multiple seconds for my phone to power on or off.  What can I do? Will Apple replace it, and will they give me another 16 like I have now? I really want to know before my warranty runs out because I truly do love my phone and want it to work properly.

If it is determined that your problem is due to user abuse or damage, your warranty will be void; but you will be eligible for an out of warranty replacement for $269.

  • Lenovo V570 Laptop Power Button does not work. Did I screw it up?

Hi, my Lenovo V570 keyboard recently stopped working so I took the keyboard off to reposition the cable. In the process I disconnected another cable on the motherboard (shown in the pictures below). I also cant find the black plastic piece that was holding it down.
Now not only does the keyboard not work but the power button does nothing. After research though Ifound out this laptop is notorius for having the power button go bad.
When I plug in the AC adapter I do see the battery light go on and it charges so I dont think the motherboard is bad. I
have tried every trick in the book as far as getting static out of the laptop power button (holding down power button for
certain times). I looked at the mainteneance manual for this laptop and could not figure out what the disconnected cable does. I have tried reconnecting the cable without the plastic piece but that did not work.
Is the disconnected cable responsible for this or should I order a new power button board with cable?

  • Is there a way to do a soft reset when the power button does not work?

After needing to enact my replacement repair warranty, I received a device (smae one and same serial) but the screen had unresponsive spoots, and dim spots, I decided to turn right around and send it back again.  I got a replaced screen again, but this time my power button doesn't work.  Now, this isn't too inconvenient for me except that I cant do a soft reset or power off/on in order to clear the cobwebs from time to time.  Does anyone know of an app, or another way to do this?  I'm simply afraaid of what iddues it may come back with if I send it in a 4th time.
    So, App?
Or, maybe a special keybaord combo I can put in like on phones? (IE  ##XXXXX#

To remove the Restrictions passcode, you need to restore the phone as a new device using iTunes. Hit the "Restore" button on the Summary Pane.

  • My Camera Volume and power button is not working

I have a 4th gen ipod touch that I bought used from a guy. The screen had a defect in is so I took it to a guy that changed the screens. I had him change the screen and after he could not get the power button to work. He changed something and it still did not work. He made it right and gave me another one plus this one. When I got it home I found out that the volume button would only go down not up and that the camera isn't working. Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix it? It is a 32gb so i don't want it to just be thrown out. It does have power and works otherwise. Also I tried to register the serial number and it is connceted to another apple account so wondering how to fix that if I can. Thanks so much!

Take it back to where yo got it "fixed" or to another third-party place. Apple will not help.

  • TS3274 ipad 2 will not charge and home button does not work. batter at 39% so cannot upgrade over wi-fi. What can I do?

my wife's iPad home button has stopped working, in addition it will not charge either through usb or the wall.
She uses it to read novels mainly and has not mishandled it.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    OM_CN

I realize that you said that the home button is not working, but try this anyway.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. See if the battery will show that it is charging after the iPad starts up.
