Frozen apps & says waiting

My pandora app is frozen and says waiting for the past couple days now and I don't have my computer to connect it and delete the app on a PC. What do I do now ? I have an iPad2

It's very easy you only have to click on the pandora app and it will begin to download

  • Ipad App Store said "20" updates.  I attempted to update w/3G.  Now many apps say "Waiting" and are frozen.  When I go online and plug into computer it just updates and doesn't address the individual apps, which still say "Waiting" and are frozen.

iPad App Store app said "20 updates".  Attempted to update w/3G.  Updated some, but now many apps say "waiting" and are frozen.  I attempted to update then by attaching to computer Itunes Store.  All it did was very quickly go thru the 4 steps and said, "Synched, OK to uplug."  I clicked my ipad and then apps.  It also said Update complete (or something like that).  Now several apps on iPad are frozen and say "Waiting".  Help!!

Oh a few other things I forgot.
The long winded back-ups!!!! JESSSSSSH! Although I think the latest update seems to have bit into this a bit.
Also why is it that sometimes when the iPhone is syncing it will not say on the actual iPhone that it is syncing. I see it's syncing in iTunes but the iPhone doesn't have the typical do not disconnect -syncing message!!! What's odd is I can see the new apps being updated to the iPhone and as long as I don't open any apps it will finish it's sync but the minute I open any apps the iPhone will lock-up!!!

  • I updated to ios7 on my iphone 4 and now cant install apps and one app says waiting for 2 days now. Also it started ading apps from my wife's phone onto my phone even though we have separate apple ids.

We do not share an apple ID and her phone is now logged in with her account and I have since backed it up on itunes under her account as well. I have turned off automatic downloads on her phone but they still keep downloading. I delete one app and then another one just appears on the phone.

  • TS1702 App will not install.  App says "waiting"

Why will app not install?  App says "waiting"

    In this order try ....
    1. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    2. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    3. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes and App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    4. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
    5. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

  • I plugged my phone into my computer for the first time and it restarted my whole phone so now all my apps say waiting put I'm let my phone sync a view different times and it still doesn't work. Has anyone else had this problem?

  • App says "Waiting..."

    App says "Waiting"
Am getting super annoyed with this...
    iPad 2, wifi only.
Was doing an upgrade of apps from my computer to my iPad. A couple Apps obviously failed to sync despite being attached to my laptop for 15 hours. Both "Garage band" and "Numbers" are stuck in a "waiting" state. I was on Wifi all last night and they refused to update. I am mobile today and need to use a spreadsheet but it still says "Waiting".
How is this efficient syncing? I have 2 gigs free, and the apps just say "waiting..."  What are they waiting for? Doomsday?
Any way to fix this?  Im finding all this sandbox stuff garbage when it deletes all your data along with an App, and i don't get it back unless i restore the ENTIRE device..  What gives?  Why is there no easy way to manage this stuff?   How is this supposed to be a productivity device when it does stuff like this that disallows you from being productive?  If I don't use iCloud or even if i DO, do i have to say goodbye to any data that hasn't synced yet because Apples software didn't do it's job and update the software correctly?  What if i don't have my MacBook or backups with me? Then i'm pretty much hooped, just as I am now...
For ease of use, this isn't getting a passing grade.  I shouldn't have to make sure by off chance that a sync destroyed an app in the night and I can no longer use it until I wipe it off and start fresh.  Absolute garbage.

Only the two apps Garage Band and Numbers seemed to have goten stuck in this state. No other downloads are pending.
Well I guess the aggravating thing about this is that it did update via my computer, but obviously it failed to update completely, even as i said, being allowed to sync for about 15 hours.  There was no error however on my iPad or on my computer saying something failed to copy. Thats not cool, but if thats the case, give me a route to update without deleting the offending App first and losing any data within it's contents. Going to the App store on the iPad just said "Installing" and wouldn't let me download the app again.
If i had no internet connection and just wanted to, yaknow, USE the iPad, then i'd be screwed.  I have it tethered right now but nothing is more demoralizing then downloading 200mb over a very slow tether just so i can vew a spreadsheet that should be resident within the "Waiting..." app.
Apparently if i want to be productive with this tool, then after a wifi sync im going to have to check to make sure the apps i actually need to use have synced properly despite getting no errors to the contrary.
    Grrrr i say, grrrr.

    Hey omaredabed,
Thanks for the question. I understand you have an app that seems to be stuck on "Waiting". The following is a past discussion that dealt with a similar issue, the answer may help you as well:

Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

  • Skype App says 'Waiting' and does not Install

Tried to install Skype App on iPhone4. After more than 2 hours, the App icon still says "Waiting". I tried going back to the Apps icon but under Skype App, I am unable to deselect/reselect to install. How do I delete installation and try again?

I am having the same problems with multiple apps on my iPhone 4. Sometimes when I go into the App store it flashes up a brief message about not able to connect. However, it is still telling me there are updates for my apps, which I can't download.

  • HT1689 My apps say "waiting" and haven't progress in hours. Why is this happening?

like the title says, I downloaded four apps and as soon as I return to the home screen, it says "waiting". This has been happening for 12 hours already. Please help me out. Thanks.

Your iPad can only download one app at a time.  So click on the four apps, and get them to say "Paused".
Then, one by one, click on an app, and watch it go from "waiting" to "downloading" to "installing".  Then once installing ends, repeat the process on the next app.

  • HT1386 my apps say waiting will not sync

my phone will not finish downloading apps it just says waiting. got a new phone from apple the other one had no wifi.

    Also
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.

  • TS3274 New apps say waiting for 1day

I downloaded some apps yesterday and they are still saying waiting. What can I do to fix it

If you have replaced your device and still are having similiar issues as what you have previously with the other device one may be concerned about software issues that may have been transferred from one device to another via restoring of the backup.
To download apps which were purchased through the apps store inside of itunes one can simply login to the itunes apps store in settings go to itunes and apps store login in here with the same apple id as what you used when purchasing the apps and then you are able to go to he area that reads 'automatically download apps' and toggle this switch there is another toggle switch that allows the same for itunes music purchased using this same apple id. Once you have toggle both switches you then should see lower where it asks you to enable cellular data connection to assist with the downloads.
    Good Luck Friend.

  • Apps say Waiting

I have a 3rd gen itouch never had an issues before with buying apps directly from my itouch and them downloading and installing. I went to update a few apps the other day and purchased the TomTom app and all 3 have just say waiting and are grayed out. I've tried rebooting my itouch, syncing it to my computer...downloading them on the itunes on my computer and syncing..nothing seems to be working this is very frustrating. My internet seems to be working fine as well because I can access it on my itouch but I can't buy apps because they just sit there now and dont sync to my itouch. Any ideas help for this problem ?? Thanks.

    Hello scarletdgn,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I'm guessing you can't delete the from the iPod either? Try resetting your iPod's *Network Settings*. To do this, head to *Settings -> General -> Reset* and tap the *Reset Network Settings* button. This will erase all the networks you have stored on your iPod. Then go ahead and reconnect to whatever network(s) you were on before and see if that helps.
If all else fails try restoring the iPod via iTunes.

  • TS1702 New iPad 2 5.1.1 won't download apps says 'waiting' I've done all suggestions help!?

I need help. This is my first apple product. Added books in bookstore app. Added instagram and instagram editor app and now it won't let me download anymore apps. It says waiting and app never stays. I'm trying to download fb, etsy, and myfitnesspal. I've turned device off and on. Removed 'waiting' apps and tried to just download etsy app but still not working. PLease help.

Ok, there's a lot here, but something in here might work for you.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again.
For iOS 6 only ....Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.

You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • App says waiting constantly

    Hi.
I downloaded galaxy on fire from the app store and when it put it onto my home screen it also put another box which is just grey in colour and says "waiting" underneath it. When I press and hold it, it doesn't have the "x" to delete it so it's stuck on my home screen.
Any ideas how to get rid of it.
Oh and I tried deleting the original app but it made no difference.
    Thanks in advance.

    Chester,
I had that happen to me a few weeks back. I tried a couple of things like you did.
Good news (at least for me) I powered off the phone, gave it a 10 count powered the phone back on and much to my surprise the application no longer said waiting. In fact it was completely installed and operational.
    Worth a try!
