Frozen at apple and pc won't detect.

My ipod mini 4gb is frozen at the apple icon, and my pc won't detect it. Because my pc won't detect it, I can't fix it with any of the tips on apples website. What should I do?

i uninstalled itunes, ipod updater, restored the ipod, reset the ipod, yada yada, changed the assigned drive to "S:". Tried to update after restore, to no avail. 2/3 of the songs will load, then itunes responds with "ipod update complete" while ipod posts "do not disconnect." after disconnecting ipod, only playlists appear on the mini, no songs/artists/etc. this all started with the 2006-1-10 update. anyone heard if apple is going to/has addressed this issue? there are a TON of posts with minis and similar problems after this new updater.

  • MacBook and iTunes won't detect my iPhone 3G

I have the iPhone 3G and it is synced to my PC with windows 7. I just bought a MacBook and want to sync my phone to my MacBook without losing all my contacts and everything on my iPhone, because I plan on selling my PC. The problem is, when I plug my iPhone into my new MacBook the computer and iTunes does not detect my iPhone at all. When I plug it in to the USB port, it charges my phone but it does not detect it on the computer or in the iTunes device list. Yet when I plug my iPod nano into the new MacBook the computer and iTunes detected it immediately. Help! How can I get my MacBook to detect my iPhone so I can use it with my new Mac and not my old pc!?
    Thank you!

  • My iPod Touch is in Recovery Mode and iTunes Won't Detect It ?

    iPod Touch 4G
    iOS 5.1
    Purchased 2010
I Opened Up iTunes and Upgraded to iOS 5.1.1 from 5.1 as a "Download Only". The Next Morning I Go To My Computer Plug In My iPod and Update. My iPod Then Goes into Recovery Mode and When I Quit Recovery mode It goes straight to recovery mode again with and without the cable. iTunes does not detect it when i plus it in and neither does my computer, i have tried restarting apple mobile support and that does not work. The nearest apple store is 20 miles but i could go there.

See if you can kick it out of recovery mode with RecBoot.

  • HT4097 I trie these steps but it only shows the silver apple and it won't go to the home screen.

It won't even open iTunes when I connect it.

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

  • I need to restore my frozen ipad 2 and Itunes won't reconize it.

My ipad 2 is frozen with a black screen and an iTunes app I need to restore it but iTunes wont recognize it.

I have a similar problem, but it began when i installed iTunes 10.5.2.11 on my windows 7 computer and tried to install the latest update to ipad2 software.  Prior to installing the new itunes, i had been able to sync with itunes easily and as expected.
After installing the new version of iTunes - the ipad2 began to act strangely:
it did not charge correctly even when connected to OEM power adapter ("not charging" message appeared when plugged in)... this still appears to be an issue, though it does not happen all the time.
the computer no longer recognizes the ipad device (i have tried different cables and it does recognize my ipod nano)
i am afraid to reset the ipad for fear that i will still not be able to connect afterwards and i will have lost all the apps currently installed.
Any hints on how to go about fixing this issue?

  • MacBook Pro lost and now won't detect wifi in the house - HELP!

I'm using a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard.  I'm staying at a friend's home which provides wifi via Shaw Cable.  We've been here for a week.  When we arrived the MacBook detected the wifi in the house and I was able to sign in without any difficulty.  Suddently, today in the middle of a web chat with a customer service provider, the connection was lost.  When I attempt to reconnect it detects other networks but not the one in the house.  I've rebooted the MacBook, rebooted the modem, turned airport on and off, deleteted all remembered networks (then rebooted), attempted to manually enter the network name and password all without success.
Other devices are connected: my iPad and a Windows PC.  I can connect the MacBook via ethernet and it works. So I know the connection and modem are working.
Most solutions I've see talk about resetting either the channel (to 11) or changing some other setting on the modem.  Since this is not my house or system, I don't have access to the modem settings.  Nor do those solutions make sense since I was connect for 6 days without any issues.
Does anyone have any idea how to get the MacBook to detect the network again?

Might be corrupted network preferences ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
Turn off the base station for about ten seconds then turn it back on.
    Then try Wi-Fi.
Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

  • IPhone frozen on apple screen THEN won't appear in iTunes

It had happened a couple of times in the last few days, that my iphone 3gs would not start and would freeze on the apple screen. The other times, it eventually worked. Tonight, it hasn't gotten past that apple screen for hours.
I read a few threads here and there and decided to try a restore, as I'd just synced it earlier today. I had to download the newest version of itunes, and once I did that, I got the phone into recovery mode. It needed to download another software update for the iphone (i will admit to not having downloaded the 4.0 update after hearing people complaining how long it took-- silly as that may be). I watched its progress; it was coming along fine, and then when I came back to itunes to check... nothing. There was no message about the software, and the iphone was still not recognized in itunes. I waited awhile, and my iphone was still on the apple screen, no longer showing the recovery screen, and since itunes was not registering anything, I just unplugged it from the computer.
At this point, upon disconnecting and then reconnecting the iphone to the usb cord, I get a screen with a "charge" sign on it-- empty battery with a little lightning bolt beneath it. I leave it plugged in a little longer, and it goes away, to be replaced by the apple (typing right now, the apple suddenly went away to be replaced once more by the empty battery) It never appears in itunes. I live 3.5 hours away from a Genius Bar; what can I do short of driving in?

    Page 34 iphone manual:
"If something is not working right, restarting or resetting iPhone will likely solve the
    problem.
Restart iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and
hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the
same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Iphone keeps freezing sent it to apple and advised no problem detected problem continues

I sent my apple phone back to apple as it was keep on freezing they have sent it back advising they haave updated the software but the problem still continues i have been checking on forum but this seems like a common problem with the iphone 4 & iphone 4s and some ppl have also reported this problem with the 5 can any one help or suggest how this problem can be resolved

I'm assuming that when you sent it in, Apple did a full restore on your device.  But just to double check, when you received your phone back, did it still have all your content on it or not?

  • IPod Touch 2g heats up iTunes won't detect it?

Hello there I have a iPod touch 2g it heats up when I try to charge it. Its not in warranty anymore sadly. I tried to do the DFU mode and iTunes won't detect it.
I have iTunes 10 and am running windows 7.
    Please help

I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
I suspect a hardware problem. Maybe a bad battery.

  • My HDD won't detect in BIOS

Yesterday I bought HDD DT01ACA300 and it won't detect.
I've tried it on two motherboards (different ports and different controllers: AMD chipset, Intel chipset, JMicron) with different power and signal cables (which do work with my Samsung HDD and Lite-On SATA DVD drive) but it won't do any good...
It seems that the only thing that could've caused it may be PSU, but I can't verify this since I don't have a spare one. I've tried to disable most of unnecessary controllers on MB to lower power consumption, but it haven't helped.
From what I've read on Internet it seems that there's not much I can do by myself, and it's most likely faulty drive, but I still have some hope that I can make it work...
It would be quiet a big problem to return it: I'll have to send it into another city's authorized service center so that they would check it, and only then I can get a replacement (if noone will steal it by then, which may happen...).

This seems to be an common 3.5 SATA III HDD
If your desktop motherboard HDD controller supports SATA (SATA III is backward compatible) then it should not be a big problem to get the HDD running.
Possible its an HDD fault. It pity but something like that can happen.
Would recommend testing another new HDD.

I have an Epson printer on a Wifi network. Windows 7 desktop is running the network, and my wife's HP Win 7 laptop prints to it just fine. My MacBook Pro running Yosemite won't detect it, and I do have the latest driver installed. I didn't have a problem when I had a Canon Pixma on the network, but when I replaced it with the Epson nothing seems to work. I go to add a printer to the queue and only the FAX function of the printer shows up - not the WS-4530 print function. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?  Please??? :-)

    Hi Kelly,
As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.
I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
