FROZEN BUTTONS

My Curve 8300 was working just fine and all of a sudden it stopped. The screen was black and I couldn't turn it back on. I removed the battery and it did come back on. Unfortunately, none of the buttons on the keyboard or any of the other function buttons would respond. The roller moves the cusor around, but when I press it, it doesn't engage any of the icons on the screen. I have booted the device by the "alt-shift-del" method with the same results. I am receiving the notifications of incoming bbm messages, emails, etc., but without being able to engage the device, the screen has gone black (sleep mode).
I'm hoping that someone can help me!

I think you should try and update your device with your PC or if to no avail, take it to your local carrier or mobile shop, they should help you out with it!

If a restore does not correct the problem, you'll need to take it into the store for servicing.

If there is a fix to this frozen button issue, can someone please fill me in...?!?! My ipod is in mint condition, and yet one day I went to use it and the click wheel was frozen. The lock works but that's it! This is the second time this has happened, and it leaves me stranded for about 2 months before it starts working again. It seems to have happened when I left it charging to full capacity. I know this is a common issue, as every person I seem to come across has had freezing issues with their ipod.
Nothing works so far to correct this issue, the 5 steps, resetting, formatting, restoring, Nothing!
If somebody has the answer please post it for the entire world to see, perhaps on apple or itunes homepage.
(Oh, along with this I've NEVER downloaded illegal music and therefore I have over $200 worth of itunes music I can no longer use on my waste of an ipod.)

IOS 5.1.1 Phone wont "slide" open

Since updating to 5.1.1 when sliding to unlock the slide stays stuck over to the right, screen frozen, buttons inactive and the phone will eventually reboot after a couple of minutes hanging. This only happens since the 5.1.1 update. Also noticing battery issues, down to 35% now, would normally be at 50%+ at this time of day.
Anyone else having the unlocking slide issue?

I'm having this same problem as well and cannot advance--very irritating. All of the information is filled out correctly and I've editted my AppleID information online separately as well to get around this issue, but no luck...

A reset is when you press and hold both the home and sleep buttons for 10 seconds or so until the Apple logo appears. You won't lose any data. Give it a try.

HT4061 I can't use my ipad mini. All buttons are frozen including the on and off, can't even find the serial number, can't see it on the back, can't find it under settings because no buttons will work. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

My ipad mini is frozen and won't allow me to use any buttons. I can't access settings to get the serial number for Apple Support and I can't read the serial number from the back. It's too small and shadowy. There is a message that reads "ICloud Backup--This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Back ups happen when this ipad is plugged in,locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
It won't allow me to shut if off using the on and off button. I stuck a paper clip into the tiny reset button, but nothing happens.

This is the most common "fix" when devices are behaving strangely. It only takes a minute and there's no risk of lost data. This is the reason you'll see this fix being suggested so often.

How do i fix my home button it has completely stopped working after i dropped it and now its frozen on the apple screen?

so yesterday i dropped my iphone and the home key stopped working. i had to turn the phone completely off to change screens and get back to the home page. today i turned it off to get back to the home screen and now it is frozen on the apple screen. its been like this for about an hour or so. i plugged it into the computer and it still hasnt done anything. i try to reset it but of course since the home button isnt working it wont allow me to do so.
does anyone know what to do besides taking it to apple?

You can try the steps recommended in the User Guide. If they don't work bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

Make a Genius Bar appointment. In the meantime go Settings > General > Accessabilty > Assistive Touch.

TS1906 Ical frozen - blank screen, no data and unresponsive buttons

After installing the last update, Ical is frozen - its shows no calender data, and the buttons for day/week/month don't work. I restored the calender data from my last time machine backup, after which it worked for the first time I opened ical. The next time I opened it, I was back to square one - no data, and unresponsive buttons (also not able to change the view over the top bar menu) and then I even got a blank screen (where the calender data should be).
Luckily my data still shows on my iphone and on my google calender. Its only on my Mac (version IOS 10.6.8) that Ical (version 4.0.4 (1395.7)) isn't working. I believe this is a bug of the actual Ical software, rather than my data.
Anyone have similar experiences, or an idea of how to fix this? Thanks.

I had the same problem with my Radeon Mobility U1.
The solution is to downgrade the xf86-video-ati driver to the version 6.7.195-3 and it should work flawlessly.
Make sure pacman and/or yaourt don't upgrade this driver inadvertently to this latest, buggy version, until a fix is released.

Try as much as you can. When it says to place in recovery mode use this program instead.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Try charing it to 50% at least.
If all else fails, try putting it in DFU mode. Connect it to iTunes, (iTunes may not detect the device, but that's ok) hold the power and home buttons down for 10 seconds, then release the power button but keep holding the home button until it goes into DFU mode. iTunes should detect it and ask for a restore.

I am having the SAME exact problem! Except instead of lock button broken it's my home button so I can't do the whole "put in recovery mode" deal. My screen only says "tap the home button 3 times" and it has my screen locked until I hit the home button but since it is broken I can't get in my phone at all. I have all of my work info in my phone so I'm screwed and can't get any help. PLEASE let me know if you find a way around this...!!!

My ipod touch has frozen with a white screen. The on/ff and sleep buttons will not work whether pressed for a moment or held for more than 10 seconds as per help pages. When connected to computer it is not recognised and no indication in "devices".It has been working perfectly from Christmas until now. Was watching a TV prog via BBC iplayer when the image and sound froze for about 5 seconds then just white screen. Help

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
