Frozen -- Can't do anything!

As of last night, the only thing that works on my computer is the cursor and the magnification of the dock icons. I can't select, highlight, or open anything. It's all frozen. Manually restarting doesn't help, and I obviously can't access any sort disk repair since nothing will open. Help!

Boy am I embarrassed. When I took your advice and ran in safe mode, I noticed I still couldn't select anything, so it got me thinking.... maybe it's as simple as my mouse. I plugged in another mouse and, sure enough, the left button on my mighty mouse must have suddenly broken. Thanks for the advice. In its own indirect way, it helped solve the problem!

My Ipod is frozen on a black screen with the white "wheel" spinning in the center. I can't do anything to it, all it does is cycle through on. see apple screen for a few second, then back to black screen with white while spinning the the center until it shuts itself off and restarts that whole thing again. I can't reset, restore and my computer doesn't recognize the ipod and I get an error message that itunes can''t connect to ipod because the screen is locked. - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Satellite A300/300D frozen, can't do anything

I am using a Toshiba Satellite A300/300D and just used a external DVD-writer for the first time with the laptop, all was fine disc burned successful but when I took disc out and went too open internet page the laptop I couldn't do anything.
Keys, power button, mouse pad nothing happening. All has frozen.

Can't even turn off.

Just press power button and keep it down few seconds. It will force notebook to switch-off.
Then press it again and start notebook. I hope you will be able to use it again.
Method described by vmanto will not end with losing everything on HDD. it has nothing to do with saved data on HDD but you will lose all data saved in RAM at this moment.

Firefox Frozen- Can't do ANYTHING. Can't Disable Addons etc

Hello, I took your advice, I have uninstalled, ReInstalled, I RESET Firefox through the HELP Menu- and that did not seem to help or do anything. When I start up Firefox- Sometimes I will be able to cllick and open a COUPLE 2-5 web links, then it freezes, and others I can't click any links before it Freezes. It appears to let me move ok on Craigslist, but not many other Pages- if I go to Yahoo it freezes instantly, same w/ G4 etc.
PLEASE HELP- I miss Firefox, and IE is not what I want to use. Can someone there link into my PC and take a look at it with me? I work as a Help Desk Rep so I will be able to follow along with any thing you need me to do. I'll be free almost any day/ime this week, but the sooner the better. If you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) installed, you can try deleting all existing instances of Firefox and its related processes/files in all the different configuration modules/areas of the security software like process monitoring, sub/spawned process control, virtualization etc., in addition to the security software's main configuration panel. Instead create new fully allowed/trusted rules for Firefox + its related processes in all the different modules/panels. Even otherwise, some security software may also ask again when Firefox and/or its sub processes are started, and you may be able to allow/trust at that time. You can also try to check by temporarily disabling any security software, [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off turn on the Windows firewall] and browse known safe sites.

Firefox is frozen, can't click anything

Firefox will not load, and I am unable to click "restart firefox" or any other buttons on the application. I'm on a mac. Tried deleting/re-installing/restarting computer, but nothing worked. Any help would be appreciated.

When Firefox crashes, it usually records information about what was happening at that moment -- and displays the Mozilla Crash Reporter. You can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please check the support article "[[Firefox Crashes]]" (especially the last section) for steps to get those crash report IDs, and then post some of the recent ones here.

you have a 13-inch Mid 2012 MacBook Pro. It’s modern enough that it supports booting into Recovery mode. To do so, hold down a Command key and the R key as you start up. It should eventually show a Mac OS X Utilities menu. Select Disk Utility from that menu; when the Disk Utility window appears, select the bootable volume from the left-hand side of the window. (It’s typically called “Macintosh HD”.) When the volume is selected, some buttons will appear on the right-hand side. If it’s not greyed out, press the Verify Disk button; if it is greyed out, or if it reports on errors that it found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu; that will restart your MacBook Pro in its normal mode. With luck, that will be enough to get you to your normal login screen, rather than the white screen.

Once the Desktop shows up, then it is started up as far as it will go.
If it doesn't progress, then something is definitely wrong.
Do you know the capacity of the hard drive and how much space remains available on it? Sometimes operating anomalies such as this can happen if the hard drive is too full.
Do you have access to another Mac with FireWire?

A. I was uploading some pictures from my camera to my Mac then I closed it. next time tried to open it and it went right to the way that the pictire before shows.

A. It had some details; like taking a lot of time to send a picture from iPhoto to an e-mail or not send it at all.
