Frozen cell text color and other formatting inconsistencies

I am using numbers to maintain course grade books. On each of two gradebooks a single cell has spontaneously changed its text color. Nothing can induce these cells to return to the appropriate color.
Along the same line, I find that sometimes it is impossible to select a row or column, and to change the cell attributes for all cells at one time. That is, applying a color or formatting feature will affect some cells, but not others. However, those cells can be changed individually.
Has anyone else encountered such problems?

Use the Inspector to check if there is a "conditional formatting rule" linked to the offending cell(s).

Problem editing text color and page properties due to favicon link

I recently added a link to a sites favicon using the link tag. Following advice on the net this was added beneath the HTML tag and before the HEAD tag. I was using a Dreamweaver template for the site and it updated all pages with the new link in the non-editable area above HEAD and just after the template declaration.
This was fine, unitl the user went to edit the site. He found that he could no longer get to page properties as he got an error that no page properties existed in editable areas... although there was an editable region for the page title. Also text color and highlighting were now disabled.
Moving the link tag into the head area has resolved the editing issue, but it seems a strange bug. Is there some way to add something between HTML and HEAD and have it appear before the InstanceBegin of the template?

You can edit text in any PDF by using trial version but as for as my knowledge and limited experience with Adobe I could not find any text color option in Adobe Acrobat. But you can highlight text in Adobe Acrobat. If you want to change the text color in PDF, I would like to recommend some another software which allows you to change the color of text and is available for download here.
Let me tell you how can change text color using this software. Open PDF file > go to "edit tab" > Click "edit" then highlight text to change the color. As you can see in the below screenshot.

Report Generate to File PDF, HTML,Excel and Others Format

Dear Experts,
I am using Oracle 9i and Developer 6i. How I convert report in PDF, HTML, Excel and others format after generating the report. When i try to generate, then giving the following error message:
REP-0999: Unimplemented Error.
How can I solve it, Please help me.

Do the column headings display ok but the data does not?
If so it may be related to the font size. i.e. the whole report may not fit on the page when scaled for pdf output.

Cant stand the changes to my Maxx HD with the KitKat upgrade, text colors and keyboard terrible. How can I remove the upgrade and go back to what I had?

How can I remove this new Kitkat upgrade and go back to what I had. I cannot deal with the color on text screen and the keyboard is terrible. Can take back all the stupid pictures they added for texting. Just need it back to what it was.

File extensions and other formats

I'm having trouble with file extensions when saving AW files in other formats. I suspect it may have to to do with a recent upgrade to 10.5
I have (as recommended in the forum) deleted the AW plist files, but it didn't help.
Here are the symptoms:
1. When saving, "Hide extensions" is always checked. I remember it as always being unchecked (which I prefer) . Unchecking it every time is getting annoying.
2. If I uncheck Hide Extensions, I can save as an AW file with its cwk extension, no problem
3. If I change the File Format to something else, like Text, then the Hide Extension box (which I had previously unchecked) is now checked again. The previous cwk extension disappears, but the period remains.
4. If I then uncheck Hide Extensions, a second period appears.
5. If I try to get rid of the extra periods and add txt so that the file is filename.txt, I get an error message that says I can't use the extension ".txt", and that the required extension is "." Using both leaves me with "filename.txt."
6. The only solution has been to let it save with Hide Extension checked, then go into the finder, use Get Info to unhide the extension, and then save it with the correct extension, which is getting to be a real pain in the patoot.
Help, anyone? I'm ready to downgrade back to 10.4.

Downgrading to 10.4 won't help much. The problem lies in AppleWorks being a Classic application that was carbonized to run in OS X. It just doesn't "understand" extensions. Although adding the period in Leopard is new, the problem with the error messages when you save an AppleWorks document as text or Word & add the appropriate extension is not new. I've given up & just add the correct extension in Finder.

I am using a tool called POI for excel from java. IF any body know POI please tell me the various colors --------> equivalent Short number. I need the color and equavlent number for better usage.

Use the class HSSFColor at org.apache.poi.hssf.util and the inner classes defined, for example (sample form jakarta.poi):
style.setFillForegroundColor(HSSFColor.ORANGE.index);
or for a cell
cell.setFillForegroundColor(HSSFColor.ORANGE.index);
If you need know what index for a color may be at source code you can see the implementation.

Possible to change review text color and wording

I've searched high and wide to try changing the text color for the review mode field "CORRECT ANSWERS" that shows on a fill in the blank/ short answer question. Ideally I'd like white text (it's set at black) and I'd like to have it say "Correct answer(s)" or even somethinge else. I don't like the all caps that's used either.
I've looked at the Object Style Manager but I don't see this particular field available/editable. Has anyone found where in the c:\Program Files\Adobe... files this setting is controlled - a .dll, .xml, .txt? I don't mind changing it to white there if I have to.

Hi, thanks. Cap 7. I whipped up that course from scratch, no particular theme applied. Also to answer your question, I looked at the master slide and that particular review mode field isn't present, just the initial objects like the text input field.It's frustrating how everything but the CORRECT ANSWERS label is editable via the Object Style Manager. Why they forgot to include it is beyond me. I'm left at using "Hack a Cap" methodology by looking at all the .dll, txt. xml files hoping to fix it there because as far as I know you can't just turn the CORRECT ANSWERS field off even if you wanted to. Unfortunately almost all of our screenshots in our courses will have a royal blue background.

Ability to paste text "content" and not formatting

I'd like to be able to copy text and paste it over other text without pasting the formatting.
E.g. I have 2 point text objects, both have different appearances.
If I highlight the text from the first and paste it over the second, the appearance gets pasted as well.
I'd like to be able to keep the second object's appearance intact.
Hate to bring up Corel DRAW again, but Corel lets you do what I'm asking for.
Seems to me if you want to copy some text and include its appearance then you'd just duplicate the whole object.
But if I use the Text Tool and highlight the text and then copy, it does the same exact thing.

I agree. This option is very often needed. On the base and they know that the other teams Adobe.
I understand that sometimes it is better not to move the code small reasons, because this could in turn introduces big problems.
Code was an old, complicated, and probably very few people knew of what they exactly consist.
But now that he is re-written 64-bit such things should be immediately implemented.
I need this to not think about Ilustartor as a separate, backward planet of Adobe.

Change Text Color and Background

I need to change the text colour and background for an entire text box and it's contents with as little iteration as possible
For the Background I am using textframe.fillcolor
and for the text I am usinf textframe.parentstory.fillcolor
Is this correct?

Also you can adjust color tint, and color text per paragraph like this:

Changing field text color and fill based on input value.

I am trying to create a field that can be red, yellow or green. In the end, what I need is a box that can be made red, yellow or green by the form user. My strategy is to use a validation script to change the field and text color based on the field input. So if you type "red", the text and field turn red, essentially making a red box. The field is named "GoalColor".
Am I headed in the right direction to get make this dynamic colored box?
This script works but you must type "red" into the field(including quotation marks). Any ideas on why the word red alone isn't triggering it?

And you don't need to add the quotation marks in the text field. In fact, doing it will cause the script not to identify the word.

Dual display color and other related issues...

I have posted this on painter forums, though some of the issues coming together here are directly related to issues w/ Snow Leopard and dual displays. Thought I would try here....
This is so bizarre. When I ever I run P11(I think this is going on in P10 too?) w/ the OS X (snow leopard, 10.6.2 on quad core Intel Xeon Mac Pro, 10 GB of RAM) menu bar on my Eizo(making it the main display), and the Apple Cinema display left as the #2 monitor, I get very annoying brush cursor artifcats left randomly on the Eizo screen after strokes. One cannot predict when the cursor will leave it's gray "marks", but it will do it, sometimes 5 strokes in a row, sometimes after 15 strokes or so? If I move my brush back over them, or change the image percantage view, they vanish, obviously new ones coming back, as I work.
However I put the OS menu bar on the AC display, yet work back on the Eizo, this does NOT happen. No cursor artifacts. Well, at least I can summon the issue
The reason I am doing this is Snow Leopard has bad color issues w/ dual displays (well documented, much to Photoshop CS4 users frustrations, and mine). Apple needs to fix it... but for me to see the right color on the Eizo(this is my main color and superior display), it needs to be the main monitor(menu bar) in 10.6.2.
So, you can see my trap - Accurate color, or annoying cursor artifacts left on the screen (sorry, it really bugs me as I work) as I work in Painter.
Attempted fixes: Trashed all of Painter's prefs, all of Wacom's Intuos 4(latest driver) prefs and software, switched plug ins on the back of the mac for the displays(lots of restarts), ran cache cleaning Cocktail and DiskWarrior, etc. -- no change, as I can duplicate the issue w/ the above set up. A sidebar or maybe be very related note: I have an iMac w/ max amount of ram (model not very old -- maybe 1 or 2 old) and I have had a long standing issue working on the iMacs we have had w/ this brush cursor artifact problem (in Leopard and Snow Leopard). I am on one monitor w/ the iMac, so you know here the menu bar is...hmmmmmmmm.....?

Editing Video - Color and other

Hello,
I am unsure between between Sony Vegas and Premiere for Vido Editing. I found in Vegas that you can change colors and make some other video editing to each video clip so it looks better. Can we do something similar in Premiere. I had the Premiere 6 trial version some months ago and I could not find that.

There is a whole collection of color adjustment effects in Premiere Elements, Jorge. Look in the Effects/Video Effects/Adjust folder.

Creating Lists and Other Formatting Issues

I'm trying to convert from Entourage right now as I prefer the the Mac address book and calendar to those of MS however, I'm finding that the one application that seems to be lacking is Mail.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can: create lists, set mail priority, permanently adjust formatting (for composing emails), etc?
So far, I'm pretty much at a loss; thanks.

Mail is somewhat limited in that respect. The only options you have for default format are what you can set in Preferences / Fonts&Colors.
Bullets and numbers as a style setting are not possible. When you receive a bulleted mail and try to respond to that with the original mail now as template text, you will find Mail behaving very strangely indeed.
as for the priority setting, when you make a new mail, you will find a small boxed icon in front of the account settings, click on that, select customize and you can choose priority, Bcc, etc (not that there is much etc.)

Is there a way to use color and other fonts when emailing or messages that isn't a hassle?

I would think that people are bored of same font and downloading from other app copy and paste is not ideal plus I want to add color to messages to signify importance of statement. Am I not finding an easy method? After all the emoji was added directly to keyboard, why can't it be that easy?

It's generally better to stick to plain text for email. Depending on the device an email gets read on, all that fancy formatting can look terrible or render the email unreadable. It can also slow the downloading of an email to a mobile device. Do your recipients a favor and don't weight your emails down.

How to make a slide show or edition including mpeg and other formats

I am i bit puzzled by the use of iphoto/imovie/itunes.
I have a Sony camera which generates jpg photos and mpg videos; besides, i have 3gp and mp4 videos from cell phones.
Firstly, i imported all of them to iphoto. I used a automator workflow to help importing from hotsynced Palm centro files, to discover the first problem with the 3gp files: they could not be iported by workflows.
Still, they could be seen in iphoto, but then i tried to make a slide show. My idea was to put the photos and videos of a certain event to be watched together, or at least to be able to watch the videos in a sequence, without having to click on each one.
I didnt get it in iphoto, so i switched to imovie. it was even worse, since it cannot import the mpgs and the 3gps (the jpg photos were ok). What could i do about that? is there any converter or other way?
then i tried the itunes, and it was the opposite: it imported and played in sequence the mpg videos, but not the photos. This is a workaround anyway, since the program expects to play movies, and makes my daughter a "star", but that`s ok, she is one to me.
i'll be thankful for hints on how to make the imovie compatible with the 3gp and mpgs, or finding some way to do this edition in iphoto or even with itunes.

QT Pro ($30) and MPEG Streamclip (free) complement each other. In many cases one can do things that the other cannot. For instance, MPEG Stramclip can handle/edit multiplexed formats while QT Pro cannot. QT Pro allows layering of data tracks while Streamclip does not. Streamclip merges file streams more easily than QT Pro but QT Pro allows the "Movie to MPEG-4" export to "passthrough" the video while Streamsclip does not. And so on and so forth...
I was referring to the mpegs from the Sony camera, of which a have hundreds, shot in the last 3 or 4 years, mainly from my 5-year old daughter. Is the above true to these?

By "sony camera," are you referring to a still digital camera (multiplexed MPEG-1) or a Sony video camcorder taking MPEG-4/AVCHD with AC3 audio in an MPEG wrapper, a Sony DVD/HDD camera storing some kind of MPEG-2/AC3 files. On a Mac, the extension MPG normally refers multiplexed MPEG-1 (or MPEG-1 audio layer) files while MPEG normally refers to multiplexed MPEG-2 video content with MPEG-1, layer 2 audio (MPEG2/MP2) but may also refer to files with MP3 or AC3 files in an MPEG, VOB, or TS wrapper. In addition it may loosely refer to elementary M2V video streams (M2V video file paired with a separate AIFF or AC3 file), a standard MPEG4/AAC file (in an MOV or MP4 wrapper) or a standard H.264/AAC file in MOV, MP4, or M4V wrapper). Since the handling, conversion, editing requirements vary with each type of file, it becomes important to what specific kind of content/file container we are dealing with here.
