Frozen I phone 4 showing only I tunes logo
I was downloading the latest updates from I phone 4. This took 1.5 hrs. As the download was being transferred to my phone a warning appeared on the computer screen from Microsoft not to proceed as it could cause damage. I stooed the download into the phone and now it is frozen. The screen shows the I tunes logo and the USB logo. The Phone will turn off at the switch but only comes back on with the same logos. What can I do Very urgent
Try to Reset your device.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off that shows up first).

This means you need to connect your iPhone to iTunes on your computer via USB and restore.

I added a custom ringtone . Then later I tried to add another three set but now after sync . Am not able to get rid of the first one... It's still there as my custom ringtone. But my iPhone in iTunes shows all four... But the phone shows only one...?
Paul--you are a life-saver!! Worked great. I did have to look around to make sure I was getting 4.9 instead of 4.7 (even when the file was named 4.9 at techspot.com), but I finally got the right file, did the install as you suggested, and everything is now fine. One note, though, that I haven't seen mentioned in any of this thread: when I first tried to open up iTunes after getting back to 4.9, the following message appeared: "The file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." I merely went to the old .itl file that was created when I did the update to iTunes 5, renamed it, moved it over to my now new 4.9, and iTunes opened fine. My library was a few days out of date, because of the few days' lag from the time I did the iTunes update, but that was easily taken care of, and everything's now working fine. Thanks again!!!

What to do now when my iPad won't turn on after I turn it off. It shows only the apple logo. I am sure it has above 70% charge as when I sync my iPad it shows necessary detail in iTunes. I have tried, HOME & POWER button, but did not work.
First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer

3: If Unable to Restore, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.

The I Pod Touch Is Frozen. Only I Tunes Logo and USB Cable Image
I was doing the new download and it said there was an error completing the upload..
Now the only image on the screen is the I Tunes logo and the USB cable image. It will turn off but do nothing else.
I tried resetting it and nothing happens. It will not do anything. It does not show on my computer or I tunes.This happened to me when the logo and cable comes on it either means that you have clicked to restoreit already try connecting it to itunes and click on the small little icon on the left of an ipod scroll down and click restore as nothing will happen if you don't restore it and syncing will not help it will stay the same.

I updated my itunes for my Ipad while connected to my computer. Now my ipad is frozen on an iTunes logo, an arrow, and a usb cord. Nothing seems to fix it. What can I do. All my business calander, etc is stored on my Ipad. HELP!
I don't fully understand what the System Reset does but I've found that it cures many ills. It's easy, quick and harmless:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default. -

My iphone shows the apple logo only, its doesn't turn on or off.
If iPhone won’t turn on, or if the display freezes or doesn’t respond
Press and hold the Home button below the screen for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
If that doesn’t work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/ Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn’t work, reset iPhone. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. -
I was synching my phone, and it asked if I wanted to back up my I-tunes , then, I got a I-Tunes symbol, with a charger connection picture that will not move from the phone. My phone is frozen
Yeh thats fine, click okay on that error message then click restore

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -
how do i get my i pad back after it has crashed
I had asked this same question on Friday at work but had to wait until I got home to plug into my computer at home. I was able to at least get back on my ipad but it managed to download so much, such as all my apps, even the ones i had gotten. I had run the recovery mode several times as suggested, but now i have lost all my progress on games as well as my NY times subscription. I am going to try to reinstall my NY times app, but the games are from games center--does anyone know how to get my progress back on those games? Thanks so much!

HT201263 SIM code message after restoring but phone screen shows only Apple logo
iTunes says its restoring my iPhone 3Gs then I get the message "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone is PIN locked. Please enter the PIN code of your SIM card and connect your iPhone to iTunes again". Problem is I can't-- the phone displays only the Apple logo again! Any ideas of what to do next? Not looking good! I have tried restarting computer and getting phone turned off and in recovery mode. Still same problem.
My husband brought up a point- I'm not sure if I did a back-up on my phone after I updated to iOS 6. The backup in iTunes can be from an earlier iOS . Could this be an issue??

The screen indicates that your device is in recovery mode. It has to be restored by connecting it to a computer with itunes. Restore to factory settings.
This happens sometimes. Hopefully you have a backup.
