I have an Ipad mini, and the screen seems to be frozen on one page. I can turn the screen off, but I can't turn the device off completely. Pressing/holding in the home button hasn't done anything. What should I do?
Try resetting your iPad:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). -
frozen ipad mini
If the reset doesn't work, try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing, Wall Paper, Sound etc will be reset -
Frozen icloud log-in ipad mini
I have a frozen iPad mini as in the question below, except I am getting a sign-into-icloud pop-up. I have tried both shutting down with the slider and the reset solution given below (as well as entering my password and hitting cancel), but the sign-in message continues to pop up

I went to use my ipad and noticed that there was the log on box for face time. I clicked cancel and nothing happened. The screen went dark and I clicked on the button and it relit but the long on box was still there. I tried to turn off but it would get to the part where you slide to power off but wouldn't slide when I tried ....and the facetime log on was still there. How can I get this to work again?
Thank you

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.
See the answer in contextStart here and make sure you are going through all of the set steps: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/. If you are continuing to have issues, contact Apple support.
I check the system status page and all services are presumably up and running. -

It's just been one year and 7 days only since i bought my iPad,i.e, just 7 days out of warranty period only.I don't find any fault with the hardware neither no physical damage is there. Need help to sort out this issue.

My ipad mini is frozen and won't allow me to use any buttons. I can't access settings to get the serial number for Apple Support and I can't read the serial number from the back. It's too small and shadowy. There is a message that reads "ICloud Backup--This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Back ups happen when this ipad is plugged in,locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
It won't allow me to shut if off using the on and off button. I stuck a paper clip into the tiny reset button, but nothing happens.
Has anyone else had this problem? Please help,
VmcalpinThis is the most common "fix" when devices are behaving strangely. It only takes a minute and there's no risk of lost data. This is the reason you'll see this fix being suggested so often.

My ipad mini is frozen in an app and the home button is stuck. Pressing the wake/sleep button does not bring up the red slider to turn the ipad off. Is there any other way I can reset the ipad? Can I remove the battery? and then put it back in?

No the battery is non removable.
Try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons... -
I have an iPad Mini which after charging has now frozen with the iCloud Backup text box in the middle of the screen and OK 'button' registers when tapped but remain locked with nothing operating. It is fully charged.
Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

IPad Mini frozen on iTunes logo
To clarify my previous post, my (first) iPad Mini is frozen on the iTunes logo. I had previous synced with my PC to do a backup, without a problem, but accidentally disconnected it. My iPad screen froze. I cannot turn it off as the Sleep Bar does not appear. The Home button doesn't work. I have tried reconnecting the iPad to my PC but iTunes does NOT recognize that it is attached. I only have IOS 7 and didn't have the space to upload Version 8. I have just bought a new iPad Mini 3 with plenty of memory (64G) but want to keep the first one for my Grandson. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Normally, a device reset should be tried as it *may* alleviate the issue...but to do so requires a working Home button, which you state does NOT work on the device. I'll post the instructions regardless...maybe you can accomplish it by pressing the Home button in just the right way (whichever way that might be) while doing the reset. Try numerous ways...
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
If no luck, I'd suggest making a Genius Bar reservation for a free evaluation of what the issue may be if you have an Apple Store near you. Maybe they can knock some sense back into the device.
https://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
You'll need an Apple ID to make a reservation. -
Ipad mini screen is frozen. Message says Not Enough Storage. Cannot be backed up ect. problem is I can not enter settings to manage storage or even turn the device off. the screen is frozen and will not allow me to do anything. Anyone got any ideas?

my daughter ipad mini is frozen. it will not let me swipe. I have rebooted and then restored to factory settings but I am still unable to swipe.
She has had problems with this ipad in the past and told at the reading store, by a pretty rude guy that we needed to buy a new one as it kept switching off. it is only 14 months old and I do not ant to buy a new one if it will only last for this short time. it has been working pretty much ok for the last month since our trip to the store but now it has totally frozen
please can someone help me as I can not afford to buy anotherIf you have restored the device as new, not from a backup and it is still malfunctioning, then you have a hardware problem. The warranty on the device is one year, but if you take it to the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service provider and it is determined there is a hardware fault, then you may qualify for an out of warranty replacement, which is at a reduced price, depending on your location. http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/repair/other/

I was given an ipad mini for Christmas. It has twice frozen completely up. It is also not backing up or syncing with my other devices. The prompt on the screen states:
icloud backup
this ipad hasn't been backed up in 15 weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wi-fi.
then there is an OK bar underneath
anyone experience this and if so how do I reboot?
GigiReboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
