  • How to un-freeze a frozen iPad?  Please help...

Went to abc.com and dowloaded the iPad app... watching video, cannot switch from portrait to landscape... then, the app froze up completely...
    *How to reboot the iPad?*
It's frozen in the ABC.COM iPad app ... in portrait mode ... tried holding down the menu button ... (bottom center) ... but no joy. Also, the "microphone hole" looks just like the paperclip-reset type port... but I am not going to try that...
    HELP?
    How to reboot the iPad?

Couple of things. You might have inadvertently locked to the portrait mode. It's a little switch on the upper right hand side of the iPad.
    _Soft Reset_
    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider.
    3. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn’t fix the problem you’re experiencing, try the steps for a Hard Reset below. This will erase everything off the device and start you off fresh.
    _Hard Reset_
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds. The Apple logo will appear, and the device should complete the Hard Reset.

  • I need to restore my frozen ipad 2 and Itunes won't reconize it.

My ipad 2 is frozen with a black screen and an iTunes app I need to restore it but iTunes wont recognize it.

I have a similar problem, but it began when i installed iTunes 10.5.2.11 on my windows 7 computer and tried to install the latest update to ipad2 software.  Prior to installing the new itunes, i had been able to sync with itunes easily and as expected.
After installing the new version of iTunes - the ipad2 began to act strangely:
it did not charge correctly even when connected to OEM power adapter ("not charging" message appeared when plugged in)... this still appears to be an issue, though it does not happen all the time.
the computer no longer recognizes the ipad device (i have tried different cables and it does recognize my ipod nano)
i am afraid to reset the ipad for fear that i will still not be able to connect afterwards and i will have lost all the apps currently installed.
Any hints on how to go about fixing this issue?

I have an Ipad mini, and the screen seems to be frozen on one page. I can turn the screen off, but I can't turn the device off completely. Pressing/holding in the home button hasn't done anything. What should I do?

  • How do you fix a frozen iPad?

My iPad has frozen how do I reset it to work

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

  • Frozen ipad 2 screen.

Help.  My ipad 2 screen has gone black with the apple symbol in the middle and seems to be frozen.  Will not shut down or anything.  any advise?

  • I have a frozen iPad screen showing the Apple Icon and pending wheel.

My iPad screen is frozen with the Apple Icon and the pending wheel visable but motionless.
I tried charging it but it will not charge. I tried connecting it with itunes so I could sync it but it won't.
I was able to download my photos into my PC so I know the PC usb port, apple the cable and ipad ports are all working and that the software from the ipad can communicate with my PC software but I am stuck on everything else.
What is the problem and what do I do?

    1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
    2. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions
If you're not able to restore the device the normal way, you should use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Using that last article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!
    Good luck

I've checked different solutions and ive tried them all and none are working. Is the ipad broken? Is there anything else i can do? The loading circle thing is going to slowly fill up, but  as soon as it fills up the screen just stays as it is. This all happend when i entered my home design app, it froze then the screen turned black and now its just the apple logo....

  • How to unlock a frozen iPad screen?

Since upgrading to iOS8, my screen has been frozen.

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.
