Frozen iphone

frozen iphone

Thanks Paulcb--
My iPhone 4 was frozen on camera screen and that worked! I pressed home and sleep and held it like you said until I saw the apple. After the apple came up, I let go, but then the apple stayed there.  I pressed home and sleep again and it made the camera taking a picture sound and then went black.  I pressed home button and it came on as usual. No data lost and it actually took a pic of my home sceren w/ the green battery pic.  lol..Thanks again!

  • I have a frozen Iphone 5

I have a frozen Iphone 5 that won't reset after pushing both buttons and Itunes doesn't recognize it.

    Hey MaryRN,
Thanks for the question. If your iPhone does not respond to a reset, let's troubleshoot to isolate the issue to power/hardware:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
    1. Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    2. Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
    Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
    3. Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    4. After at least 15 minutes, if:
                   - The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
                   - The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
                   - Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
    5. If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
                   - If the display turns on, go to step 4.
                   - If the display remains black, go to next step.
    6. Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
    7. If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?
    Contact Apple Support.

  • Frozen iphone 3g - fix?

my iphone 3g froze today - home screen was blank except for the top bar (at&t logo, time, battery charge) and the screen was completely unresponsive.
following the instructions here (EXCLUDING the full reset) did not help:
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1
so before doing the full reset...i let the charge on the battery run down completely, then connected it to the charger and in due course the iphone rebooted and all is ok.
i see quite a few "frozen iphone" threads here...maybe this will be of help to someone.

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.
    Try all three of these.

  • Camera frozen iPhone 6 plus

i bought an iPhone 6 plus 128 Gb space Grey
Since a few days when switching modes from photo to Video to Slow Mo to photo etc, the screen gets frozen.
I thought its a problem with the assistive touch but after switching it off too, this problem persists.
I restore my phone & set it up as anew phone. Still that doesn't resolve it.
    Please help ! Thanks !

If you've done a restore, then next step is to get in touch with Apple and get the iPhone replaced Im afraid.

  • Frozen iphone 4

My iphone 4 is frozen, it will not let me shut dowm/restart. ive tried troubleshooting any other options?

This whole thing started when I woke up one morning to see what time it was and the iTunes/USB logo was there. It was not on a charger or plugged into the computer and not wirelessly synced in any way to any other device.
Nothing happens when I try to connect iTunes to restore it the same iTunes/USB logo doesn't go away and the computer just tries to sync with no success and no errors just an infinite loop for hours.
I have tried on a Mac and a PC with several different cables and have the same results.
I tried to hold the power and home buttons in to shut it down and reset it but It will not respond.
I have also let it completely die, and when I plug it into the wall charger the iTunes/USB logo comes up instead of the apple logo.
My next step is to see how far I can throw it.
I have found out from several of my co-workers that all 6 of them had the same problem and they received refurbished iphone 4's from Apple some of them had Verizon and some AT&T so it's not a carrier thing.

  • Frozen iphone screen

My iphone screen is frozen, I`ve tried turning it off and on again, charging it up, conecting to itunes for the lastest software, and I`ve tried doing a restore, but as I can`t put my sim pin in (as the screen is frozen) it won`t finish the restore. Any ideas? Or is it completely kaput??

You can do everything but this is a bug in iOS4.1
Many people have this problem. Restoring the iPhone in any way will not fix this problem. You have to contact apple and say that they have a bug in iOS4.1

  • Frozen iPhone. ANd yes I have read the troubleshoots on this website.

I have an iPhone 3GS 16gb and recently while using an app my phone started to lag and I lost service so I turned off my phone. When I tried turning it back on the Apple logo would appear but would just be there for minutes and then the load wheel would appear over the Apple logo, then eventually my phone would turn itself off and try rebooting again. I have tried to plug my phone into my computer but it will not launch and iTunes does not even pick up that my iPhone is plugged in. I cannot even get my phone to fully load and turn on so I can factory reset it. Any suggestions?

I have done a hard reset using the wake/home buttons and it just brings it back to the apple symbol which wont go away. My phone cannot load, like as is fully turn on, or connect with my PC. All out of nowhere. It did this once the other week for about 2 hours and then randomly connected to my PC after being plugged in for 2 hours. right now my phone has been in this cycle of frozen Apple symbol, frozen load wheel, self reset, frozen Apple symbol, frozen load wheel, self reset, etc. for over 50 straight hours. I have let it completely die down and I get the Red Battery symbol showing for my to connect to the power source and when I do it goes right back to the apple symbol cycle. Sound like a software or a hardware issue? I have had my iPhone since Sept, 09, do you think the warranty would cover this?

  • Broken sleep button, frozen iphone.

The sleep button recently broke on my iphone 4, and it is now frozen... how can I reset it?
I have already plugged it into the computer and the iphone displays no change, and the computer does not detect the device.

    Try resetting it;
Simply hold the home and power buttons
until it turns off and release when the Apple boot/start up logo appears. If this doesn't work try putting it into DFU mode and resstoring it. To put your iPhone into DFU mode:
    1. First, Open up iTunes, plug in your iPod Touch/iPhone to the CPU's USB port. Turn on your CPU's speaker and make sure it is loud enough to hear.
    2. Hold down the Power button and the home button
simutaneously, until the screen goes black and the device turns off.
    3. Now let go of the Power button, but continue to hold the Home button.
Your iPod Touch/iPhone should have turned off and the screen should not be on.
    4. After around ~10-20 seconds, you will hear a noise (beep/ding) from your CPU as if it had just recognized a new hardware device, now iTunes should recognize it in DFU mode.
    5. After iTunes recognizes the iPod Touch/iPhone, let go of the Home button otherwise it will go into recovery mode and you will have to do the entire DFU process over again.
    6. You will know when you have put your iPod Touch/iPhone correctly into DFU mode when the display is blank and that you do not have anything on your device.
    7. Click restore in iTunes and it should restore your iPhone.
Hope this helps, email me at [email protected] for more help

  • How to recover from frozen iPhone that will only show apple logo?

my iphone 3gs has frozen up.  i turned it off for a flight today and when i turned it on to listen to some music the apple logo comes up and never goes away.  also, when i got home to attempt a synch to itunes and to see if a synch would fix the problem, neither the computer (windows) nor itunes will recognize the phone.  i have attempted to reboot it several times, i rebooted the computer, i removed the SIM card and reinserted it and nothing is resolving this problem. any ideas or proposed solutions?

Try a hard shut down by holding the power button down (one on top) and the home screen button down at the same time. After 5-10 seconds the phone should shut off.
After that wait a bit and try and restart.
    Hope that works!

  • Frozen iPhone 5s during iOS 7.1.2 update

    Hi,
I'm having a problem updating my iPhone 5s:
    iPhone 5s with 7.1.2 installed
Started over the air (wifi) update (plugged)
Everything went smoothly until my iPhone restarted to complete the installation process; now the progress bar is frozen between 1/2 and 2/3 of the way
45 minutes and nothing happening ....
I have read on another thread that people tried rebooting and it seems to work but I'd prefer to wait rather than have to go into recover procedure with a faulty installation.
Anyone with the same problem ? Any solutions
    Daniel

I tried sack solution and it worked. I will check the thread you are referring to.
I guess I will find out if that resulted in a faulty installation in the next few days.

  • Frozen iPhone - apple logo with black screen

My phone is frozen with the apple logo on the black screen. I have tried all the suggestions previously posted about holding the button while plugging in the USB...nothing works. It's FROZEN!! Can anyone help? I'm getting desperate.

If you read the many posts about this, it takes more than just pressing the home button when plugged into iTunes. Did you do a reset - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears?
    Recovery mode:
    1. Start iTunes.
    2. Plug USB end of cable into a USB port in the back of your computer, not an external hub or keyboard port. Plug phone port end directly into the phone without using a dock.
    3. Press BOTH the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo reappears, then continue pressing the home button alone until iTunes sees the phone in recovery mode.
    4. Follow the prompts to restore.
If the phone doesn't respond to any of this, there is either a hardware problem or you have hacked firmware installed. In either case your only solution is replacement.
