Frozen Phone

My iphone is frozen on a white screen and will not let me exit. I have tried holding the power button and it will not let me turn it off, and i have hit the home button but that will not work either. I can still change my volume, screen shot, and hear when i get emails. I can not receive texts, phone calls, and notifications from like twitter, facebook, and instagram. It still charges. This happened to me a few days ago and i had to wait for my phone to die then i plugged it in and it was okay again. Can someone help me?

Try Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone begins to restart.

Can anyone help with my frozen phone?

I left my phone synching and came back to a frozen phone. It is showing the little plug reaching for the Itunes logo on the screen. I can not reactivate it even by pressing sleep/wake or the home button. I can't get the slider to appear on the screen. No matter what I push it comes back to that screen.
Itunes will not recognize my phone at all. I tried rebooting my PC and moving the USB cable to a different slot. I assume at this point I need to reset and reinstall the backup but I can't figure out how to do that when Itunes can't even find my phone.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? This seems to happen to me periodically but I have always been able to reset it in the past. FWIW, in addition to synching when I left it, I had also indicated that it could install 3.1 but when I got back it said that the installation didn't work.

Thank you all for your advice. I ended up connecting the phone to my laptop and restoring it (reseting it) through that version of Itunes. Then before it synched I reconnected it to my desktop and was able to synch with the latest backed up version.
I have a feeling something is not right with my desktop USB connections as this has happened more than once. Thanks for your help!

Ah crap. Frozen phone demands I restore it

iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes

Phone is now frozen.
Cannot afford to lose all the data (mainly on 1 app) on my phone by restoring it to factory settings.
Every day a message pops up saying I need to update my phone. After 2 weeks of clicking "later" I finally decided to just do it and make the message stop pestering me.
Now I have a frozen, useless phone. Any suggestions on bypassing having to restore my phone?

If the phone is in recovery mode the data is already gone.
Just restore it.
If you have been syncing and backing up your phone regularly as designed, only the data since the last sync/backup will be lost.

Help with a frozen phone!

My Blackberry is frozen... I can see phone calls but my screen is black and none of my keys work! I have done a hard reset and also tried to downgrade the software as a fix and NOTHING is working. Can anyone help me!

Same issue. I took my phone to Verizon and they told me to contact the warranty department, as the phone is no good. Such a pain, I have enabled content protection so I can't even seem to back it up to my desktop. Oh well, eventually I will learn not to depend on my phones!

Software upgrade while tethering has frozen phone

I tried upgrading my iPhone 4 to the 4.1 software. My internet connection is via tethering. When my phone restarted, it lost the internet connection and is now frozen on a screen which shows a picture of a CD with the word "iTunes" below it, and then a picture of a USB cable below that. I now understand that the internet connection is required several times throughout the upgrade and that updgrading through tethering is not possible. But how do I unfreeze the phone? Hooking it up to my home PC doesn't work because I can't get the internet connection up. If I install iTunes on a different PC and connect my phone, would that work? I just want to get it functional again so I can restore off my home PC. Thanks!

Probably not a good idea to upgrade while it's solely using tethering because once your phone starts to upgrade it will restart and thus lose the connection, you are better off using the wi-fi connection from the router not on the phone. And yes you should be able to install and connect from a different pc for installing ios.

Software update for torch to7.1 frozen phone

hi,i tried to download the new update via wi-fi but it has frozen on backing up data and i cannot access my phone, tried connecting to blackberry desktop but wont connect either,can anyone help???

There are two methods of recovery for you to try:
One:
Open Blackberry Desktop Software & Connect your device with PC using USB cable, without inserting battery.
You will get three option Retry, Update Or Cancel, then click on update.
Once it is to the stage of the update "initializing handheld", then insert battery.
If this does not work, and you remain stuck on the backing up the Social Feeds database, go to the second method below.
Secondly:
Start your BlackBerry in Safe mode. Article ID: KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Modehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow your handheld to connect. If you are prompted to upgrade, cancel the upgrade for later.
IF you cannot connect or your Desktop Software does not recognize your device while in Safe Mode, please follow the directions here to force the detect:  Article ID: KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
Go to Device > delete > SELECT DATA > select to delete both the Social Feeds and Smart Card databases, and follow the remaining prompts to complete it.
Now, you can return and click to upgrade the device through the Desktop Manager, or reboot the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue the over the air upgrade.

IPhone 3gs frozen - slide to unlock frozen - phone dropped - pad lock without circle

Dropped iPhone 3gs (ios 3.4.4 or previous version - can't remember which one). Slide to unlock is frozen. If I press home button twice then reverse, play and fast forward symbols show up on center of screen (but nothing happens when I press on them). There is a plain pad lock symbol (no circle) on the top center of the screen. Won't do anyting else. Any ideas? Also, the phone will ring...I just can't unlock the phone to answer. Then the screen shows that I missed a call with the phone number displayed.

Frozen phone nothing seems to work. need help now please.

I downloaded the coral reef free trial from blackberry app world and when I locked the screen, then turned it back everything had frozen. I could not type my password or make any emergency calls. The animations, clock, signal bar and battery are still working/running. Nothing else seems to be working. I have taken the battery out a few times but it doesn't do anything. Alt right cap and delete restarted my phone but I just go back the the same problem straight away. I would really like some to tell my how I can fix this problem.

Well, Safe Mode might help you diagnose it. To get into safe mode, follow the instructions in the above linked KB.

Iphone 5 6.1.3 "connected to itunes" bug FROZEN PHONE

Hey guys,
After downloading and updating my brand new iphone 5 to 6.1.3 an error message came up saying that the update was unsuccessful. Since then my phone has been stuck to the "connected to itunes screen" even if it isn't connected to my pc. It won't manually reset, it doesn't reset when I plug it into another device (such as a powerpoint) and my itunes doesn't reconize that my phone is connected at all. However - my computer does reconize the phone is connected but it says it doesn't recognize the device and there was a problem with installation etc etc.
I am running Microsoft Windows 7 x64 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (Build 7601)
I'm also running iTunes 10.7.0.21... I'll try to update it and see if it will reconize it, but it had no issues beforehand.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I ended up going into my local apple store and they managed to reset it with their software - it'll save you mucking around for ages if you tried everything like I did. Good luck.

Frozen Phone saying ; "Reload Software: 552" ?? Help !!!!!!!!!!

My screen is frozen on a WHITE SCREEN, with the words "Reload Software 552". I have taken the battery out and had no corrections to this issue.
I admit that in the 3 days that I have had my new BB Tour from Verizon, that I downloaded plenty of Apps from BB App world and some from Crackberry.com. Are these the causes for the FREEZE ?
Can I just reload the software from my BB Desktop Manager ?
How can I prevent this from happening again ?

Frozen phone with a broken sleep button

I went to go send someone a text and my phone completely froze. I cant do a hard restart because the sleep/lock button is broken. I tried plugging it in to see if I could do a restore on Itunes but Itunes didnt recognize the phone. Is there any solution to fix this other then just letting the battery die?

no. You're going to have to bring the phone in for exchange.

Frozen phone after upgrade

I connected phone to computer this evening and it told me to update the software on my 3gs so I did, It would not complete the update due to and un expected error (1611 or something) now I cannot get it to work at all. Im massivly angry and worried that Ill end up losing pictures and videos of my son. Surely Apple cant just mess up things like this? Please any help would be fantastic. I have relatively low knowledge with computers so please dont get too tech with me. Thanks so much

Yes, if you've synced and backed up your iPhone with iTunes.
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 provides details about the data saved in the iPhone backup.
You can setup service for the iPhone and then restore the replacement iPhone from the backup of your current iPhone.

MAJOR HELP NEEDED! FROZEN PHONE??

My iphone froze, so I powered it down. When I power it back up now I get the apple icon, and then after a few seconds the screen goes to black again, as if it's "off". I'm seriously freaking out, and the Apple store is closed for the night. Any ideas? Please help!!!

IT could be that your iPhone is not being recognized in iTunes which means that you have to try to restart the phone and if that does not work put the phone into forced recovery mode.

HELP! Frozen phone.

My phone worked fine this morning. Then all of the sudden when I placed or recieved calls I could not hear anything, the reciever could hear me. I could text, play games, get on the net, etc. Then I noticed I had a software update. So, I connected to itunes and performed a sync. At the end the phone powered off and on. Then itunes stated the sync couldn't be completed. So, I unplugged the phone from the computer, rebooted it, and connected it back to itunes. Now, itunes does not recognize my phone and the phone screen has a USB port and itunes logo on it. What do I do?? I need help! Thank you!

If your phone isn't being recognized in iTunes see either http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 (windows) or http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591 (mac). If you are using Windows, be sure to work through troublshooting steps 1-6 at the bottom of the article too. If still cannot get your phone to be recognized in iTunes so it can be restored in recovery mode then you will have to try putting it in DFU mode. You can use Google to find information on this.
