Frozen screen 30GB won't shut off won't play

Hey folks,
I just got this Ipod and downloaded all of my Itunes onto it. I was playing the Ipod on shuffle song mode and it stopped. Full battery, purchased song and nothing. The screen says now playing, but it's not. I can't turn it off or connect it to my computer and it remains illuminated. Help???

I'm having what sounds like a similar problem -- when I start to play after the iPod has been "off" for awhile, the icon indicates that it's playing, but the indicator on the bar doesn't move and the time indicator doesn't change, and nothing happens. Sometimes it starts to play after 5 seconds or so, more often it doesn't.
I have been able to reset (toggle hold, then hold down center + menu) but it's still an annoying problem, and I think I'll probably take it in for service.

Iphone turns on for a moment screen goes crazy then shuts off

About a month or two ago I was using my brand new iPhone 3GS when all of a sudden the screen went black (backlight still on) then went crazy pixels everywhere sometimes overlapping each other then it shut off. I couldn't turn it on regularly so I waited till I got home and plugged it in, I then soft reset it and it turned back on, I had no problems until the next day it shut off in my pocket and once again I soft reset it. This happened for a few days until it finally would turn on, I'd get to the apple logo then the screen goes crazy and shuts off.
This thing has never seen water so I'm positive it isn't water damage. What could it be?

im taking it in today to see about getting it fixed, just wanted to see if there was any other way or if anyone else was having the same problem

Reset the device by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

I got a text message from my girlfriend, went to go answer it today and the screen just turned blue and then shut off, it will not turn back on! I tried to push the home button and power button at the same time!

I have the same issue on my iphone 5 today. After blue screen it has shut off 2 times but it turned on when i hold home+power button together 10 sec. But today after blue screen it has just shut off then didnt come back yet. I have tried everything(home+power button, try to put recovery mode and dfu mode) but none of them worked, it didnt even show any apple or itunes icon on the screen and coundt connect to pc and itunes.
Then i put it charge couple hours then took of sim card from iphone and tried to home+power buttons again and apple logo appeared this time i was so happy just try to slide device to unlock the blue screen appeared again and phone shut off now its same doesnt show anything. i am too sad right now , dont know what to do! İs anybody has any idea?

We have a 32 gb iPad, slow but sure. Just tried to do restore from cloud and now it's frozen. Shut off with power button and wake/sleep only and all I get is the apple symbol when I restart it. Stuck.

If reset doesn't work, try and force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.

Frozen Screen-Now Won't boot

I had two successive frozen screens on my 4 year old G5 and held down the power button to turn off and then restart. After the second attempt at restart the computer would not reboot. The fans appear to run, and the power light blinks with 3 consecutive blinks, then pause, then 3 more, and so on. Any help?? Thanks

Battery could do it.
SMU reset or PRAM reset might do it.
Yes, RAM needs to be in pairs.

Screen froze/wouldn't shut off/restore

I suddenly found myself staring at a frozen screen, with all fonts and images oversized (the green battery icon took up half the screen).
Suddenly iTunes started playing in shuffle mode.
Couldn't shut the phone off because the slide arrow was just off the screen.
Sweet.
Phone is days old.
Did a restore when I got home to no avail, did another one, seemed to have "taken", but all data wiped out.
Is there a way I can get my phone numbers retrieved?
This leaves a huge sour taste....I'm reading lots of other issues on this site about the 3GS.

I've also got the same problem today, eventually it died of low battery but now it just shows an "angry-sour iPod" and the text "www.apple.com/support", and when i try to charge it it the message "very low battery" shows and nothing happens.
What may be the problem??

Intel iMac 20" 2.4Ghz screen goes black and shuts off on startup.

After pushing power button, hear dong, see gray screen with apple and then see horizontal bar below apple breifly and then shuts off abruptly. Any thoughts?
Have been running computer with OSX lion for a number of months with no problems. Installed a SSD more than a year ago.

Good news.
After further research on the Internet, and going through what was happening to my screen, I decided to change the screen power supply - not easy unless you have a spare one. I called the local Apple store and sked if I could borrow one for a few days, and the answer I got was a yes.
Since replacing the power unit for the Apple HDD cinema screen all seems to be well. Which is great.
I do have a few questions however;
Why can't you buy a replacement power suppply instead of spending £900 on a new screen?
Why wasn't this checked by the Apple technicicians when they were looking at the problem?
Hopefully this will help someone else, and avoid the frustration that I have experienced with Apple.

How do you change the settings you have the screen dim before it shuts off

I know on older OS the screen would dim before the computer shuts off. I was wondering how to do that on Maverick. It doesn't seem to come up on display settings or energy saver.
Is it not on Maverick or have I not found it yet?

Also, if you go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and hover the mouse pointer over the iPod backup the SN will appear..
Also, if you go to iTunes>Help and click on About iTunes with the Control button pressed, the SN will scroll in the About iTunes panel.

Itunes 12 won't play any tracks. Selection appears in box at top of screen, but won't play and time doesn't count down. Controls have no effect.

Why does the sleep/snooze button shut off what's playing?

My 6th generation nano touch has a sleep/snooze button that used to be programable in minutes. Then it became a pause button, now when the screen saver is activated the whole thing shuts off in the middle of a listen! Help!

You don't have the headphones plugged all the way in. Check the headphone jack on the Nano and clean it if necessary then insert the headset jack until the plastic is flush with the body of the Nano.

Maybe it is a hardware problem, but you will not know that unless you start eliminating all possible software issues. Try this. Close all apps in the recents tray and reboot your iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
