Frozen Screen / Battery Power not Depleting

HELP! It is completely frozen - - back light on, playlist screen, Matthew Sweet playlist to be exact.
I have tried all the 'R's - - and the updater/restore function won't work as it does not see my iPod being conncected to the computer (and yes, I already tried another iPod and it 'sees' that one with out issue)
Battery power not depleting - - it has been over 4 hours.
Now what?

It seems my iPod does this a lot and it is extremely
frustrating.
If it happens a lot, you may want to try restoring it...

I am having the SAME exact problem! Except instead of lock button broken it's my home button so I can't do the whole "put in recovery mode" deal. My screen only says "tap the home button 3 times" and it has my screen locked until I hit the home button but since it is broken I can't get in my phone at all. I have all of my work info in my phone so I'm screwed and can't get any help. PLEASE let me know if you find a way around this...!!!

i have connected it to itunes like i was told to do and it wont do anything because its locked with a passcode and its frozen on the lock screen and will not let me enter myt passcode and after a while it just shuts off, it has been doing this for almost 48 hours. I was told to hold the home button and power button to shut it down and that I could then restart it and it would work... Nothing has helped, What can I try???

Reset the device by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.
If that does not resolve, restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If all else fails, take the device to Apple (or whomever provides support in your country) for evaluation and possible replacement.

After being connected to a charging source overnight try:

If the Reset didn't work, you'll need to do a Restore.
From iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finished, you will be asked if you wish the contents of iTunes to be copied to the iPad.

I just downloaded more then 2000 photo's from my camera into iPhoto. Shortly after that my battery life was depleted and so I plugged the computer back into power and after I opened iPhoto later, I could not find those photos anymore

Do you see more photos, when you enable "Hidden Photos" in the "View" menu?
And that was afetr I took the connection with the NIKON out of my laptop.
Check, if you really imported into your iPhoto library - is the preference setting "Advanced > Importing: Copy items to the iPhoto Library" active? If not, connect your Nikon again - do you now see more photos?
If you imported into the iPhoto Library, check inside the package:
Select your iPhoto library in the Finder, ctrl-click it, use the command "Show Package Contents".
There will be a folder named "Masters" inside, with subfolders named by year - month - day. Look for the date you did the import and check, if the photos are inside.
If yes, copy this folder to a folder on your desktop to save the photos.
If not, search for a folder "Importing" inside the library. Is it there? Then copy these photos to a folder on the Desktop.
If you found your photos, backup and rebuild your library.

My ipod mini just froze with the message No battery power remains please connect to power except the power was not low when it came up and even connected to power it does not respond. I tried to reset it except it will not respond, shut off, etc. If you connect the headphones it appears to be playing the music in a very choppy way. Please help! The only relevant thing i saw to do was reset which clearly doesnt work for my case! Thanks!! And please any pointers will be helpful!!

Let the battery fully darain. After charging for an least an hour try a reset and restore. Use Recovery mode if necessary.
If not successful, then time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

How can i use an external screen on mountain lion when i'm running on battery power?

Hey all:
I just upgraded from snow leopard to Mountain Lion, and i use external screen, keyboard and mouse all the time....
On Mountain Lion it's perfect when the power adaptor is connected as soon as you close the LID your external screen becomes the primary screeen and it's fully functional desktop (no mirroring or extension screen)
But the problem is when i'm in battery power, in snow leopard i used to close my lid my mac goes to sleep then i wake it up using the mouse and immediately open the LID so it doesn't go to sleep again and now i'm running on battery power with a primary external screen.
Any idea how to use an external screen on mountain lion while i'm on battery power? (i know i can use mirroring but i want just 1 primary screen and the laptop screen would be turned off )

You can't with the lid closed, that's one of the rules for clamshell mode.

I am a relatively 'new' user. Touch was a gift, I used it in a simplistic way - listened to music took a few photos, added a few calendar events. After a year I then decided to be more proactive and found a few free apps (Solitaire) - then had a the frozen screen problem which I though was connected to low battery, but it wasn't. I recharged it, still could not access, then tried a full restore and got an error message. Took it to a Genius Bar and was told it was a hardware problem and as it is out of warranty I could trade in or just buy a different product. As this is my first Apple product is this usual? Do Apple products have a very short shelf life - I anticipated that it would last me longer than a year! Has anyone else had this problem? Was it able to be resolved? Or is it worth trying to get it repaired - and if so who can do it - Apple Store did not offer that to me as an option?

Sure sounds like a hardware problem. It happens some times. The iPod is just an electrical device.
Apple will exchange it for a refurbished one for this price. Apple does not repair your iPod.

Had Power Adapter replaced, battery icon not showing charge

Hello, hoping you guys can help me out. Recently, my power adapter had burned out (wouldn't show charge/light up at all). I've had it replaced as of today and is working fine (Whoo!), but now a new problem's come up.
I admit I used my battery to it's limit while waiting for the new adapter, and while the light on the adapter is green, the battery icon on my screen is showing 0%. Pressing the button on the battery only gives me one green light.
I've heard something about Re-Calibrating the battery in my manual, but I'm unsure if that's the best course for my case. Here's my Power System Profile, if it helps:

Re-calibrating the battery is typically done with a new battery, where you charge it all the way up, then run it all the way down a couple of times. This calibrates the battery's internal electronics to the actual capacity of the battery. Not a concern here.
Looking at your battery stats, is your battery fairly new? It is showing 56 charge/discharge cycles, does that sound about right? Reason for asking is, if the battery is old, like maybe the original battery that came with the system, sometimes a dying lithium battery throws up screwy stats. If it is an older battery, that may be why it's not charging ... it's dead. However, if it is a newer battery ....
There's only 4 components to the charging circuit - power adapter, dc-in card, battery, and logic board. You have a new power adapter, and the system is seeing the 65 watt power adapter, so the power adapter and dc-in card appear to be OK. That leaves either a battery issue or a logic board issue. Do you have another battery you can swap in, or a friend with the same model PowerBook, or an Apple store nearby? If you swap another battery in, and it starts charging, and the current batter is an older one, then replace the battery. I would stay away from batteries sold on ebay, as there have been a number of people very disappointed with the lack of quality in the battery they bought.
If another battery won't charge, that would point to a logic board issue. We just had that on one of our PowerBooks, where it would charge, and it wasn't a power adapter, dc-in, or battery problem. The Apple store sent it off to the Apple Depot, for around $350, and they replaced the logic board as well as the battery. If they do more work, like replacing a dented case, the price goes up. If the Apple store replaces the logic board in the store, it costs around $750 or more.

I am a lucky customer of two of these storms....once which arent 3 weeks old and the first one the one that was my phone locked up in the first week and i was mashing the screen not hard and the **bleep** thing broke...well verizon says you have 30 days till you can no longer buy the phone insurance and who would of thought in my first week the **bleep** touch screen would break by me tapping on it trying to get the locked up software to respond....and guess what verizon said there is nothing they can do to a phone with a cracked screen....and also both phones blackberrry storms that were sent to me were used equipement. but I am still repsponsible for the two contract agreement and I cant even use the **bleep** phone...also they say you can add insurance within 30 days of new purcchase not the phone that was malfuntioned and the screen cracked....but they let me add it to the second line....i think its very dirty of verizon to send used phones with two contracts to someone and it malfuntion like that and not replace the phone...and still hold the customer responsible for two year contract...after all the **bleep** trouble the storms have been giving customers...thats why they are sending the **bleep** things out free of charge...dont get scammed and screwed like I did go with Tmobile or att..
