Frustrated battery percentage problem iphone 4s

Ok Im really frustrated right now...
I'm pretty sure this problem has occured since I upgraded my iPhone 4s to ios 7, but it couldve also happened earlier.
I cannot stand my battery percentage telling me like 30%, then my iphone shuts down and tells me I need to recharge. (Then wait like 10 minutes, and it would turn on if I press power button.)
This also happens a lot when my iphone feels a TINY bit of cold air (regular environment to where I live), and if its anywhere 30% or lower, it would definitley turn off... What is the issue behind this? Why is it happening? I just want to know.
My iPhone was currently 16% and it shut off. This has been happening for at least 3 months, and Im fed up! Id rather know the reason than just get frustrated in trying to find out why!
Any body have similar problem?
Thanks!

the same thing happend to me too, except that it was shutting down at 90 % and sometimes even at 100 %. i tried to restore it but it didnt work. if someone knows how to help, it would be appreciated

  • Why doesnt ipod touch 5th gen have battery percentage like iphones?

Why deosnt ipod touch 5th generation have battery percentage like iphone i just dont see the problem is it a problem because i think that would really come in handy.

They could have but maybe the idea for the percentage meter was thought up after the original design for the iPod Touch hence why the design for the iPhone's design was slightly altered after the iPod Touch's design was put in to the engineering  process or maybe they just wanted it that way.

  • No Battery Percentage for iPhone 3G

Where is the Battery Percentage for iPhone 3G?

    It's not there. It's for iPhone 3G S only. http://www.apple.com/iphone/how-to/#settings.usage
Evidently, the battery management circuitry has been completely reworked to get a big improvement from a battery with only a slightly larger capacity. http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones/

  • Battery percentage problems on iPhone 5

The battery percentage won't turn off on my iPhone 5.
I went to Settings -> General -> Usage then slide it off.
    Then rebooted my iPhone.
I seem videos on YouTube where people slide it off/on and works fine.
    Please help!
    Thanks!

When you say you rebooted did you do this:
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

  • How to turn off battery percentage on iphone 4 ?

    Hi,
Got the new iphone 4 recently. Since the initial set up the battery percentage icon is on. I tried to turn it off through settings- general-usage-battery percentage. But it still shows up. I even rebooted the phone by holding home button and power button. Still the same. How to make my phone not to show the battery percentage? Please help. I am thinking of apple store visit for this but would like to try some fixes before going there.

I just figured it out! I just got my iPhone 4 and restored it from the backup of my once jailbroken iPhone 3G. Same problem as you guys. Was about to restore from scratch but...
    Check it out:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
You will have to change back a few of your settings but problem solved.

  • IOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 3G showing numeric battery percentage!!!!

YES! your guess is right. It was jailbroken. However, I restored the phone to factory settings yesterday and then restored from the most current backup. I did this cause jailbreaking made my phone lag very bad. Everything that came from cydia and cydia itself are gone. What remains is a normal iPhone 3g running iOS 4.2.1 However, the battery percentage continues to show in the status bar! Can someone guide me to get the normal conditions please...

Yes, there are ways to remove the tweak by using ibackupbot for windows , sorry ! No Mac support. And ibackupbot will find the most recent backup of your devices and select your backup you want to use. Then find that plist and double click on it. It will as you to register but click cancel. You will now see a plist editor, try and find an array/ line that says something about SBBattery or something and remove that line or set the value to FALSE then press F7 or F11 and it should ask you if you want to restore your device and click yes. Your iPhone will not loose any data. Only the plist should of been changed. Sorry for this long guide! :) You might also have a look around the Internet on "How to get battery percentage on iPhone without jailbreaking. When they say add this string/text, do the opposite, find and remove the text they ask you to put in. Or as I said before you can just change the value to false.

  • Is the iPod Touch 4G with iOS 5 suppose to have a Battery Percentage?

I just bought this iPod Touch from Target on Black Friday, and restored it from my old iPod Touch's Backup. I've noticed that my battery doesn't last very long and that up in the top right corner, to the left of the battery symbol, shows a percentage of battery left, but my friend that as the same exact iPod with same exact firmware doesn't have it. Is this because the iPod that I restored this one from was jailbroken? I restored my new iPod with a backup from my 2nd Gen iPod that was jailbroken.
Do you think I should restore as a new iPod?

Actually you can enable the battery percentage on iPhones, like you see in this picture.
I don't know why you can't do it with iPod's. I, for example, own a Touch 4G which has the battery percentage for the same reason yours do. It always happen when I restore my iPod and I've never experienced any trouble.
The battery percentage may be on because there is this key "<key>gas-gauge-battery</key>" under the
"N82AP.plist" file that was set to 'true' when you made the backup of the old iPod. In fact, if this key was changed, others could too, and these can be a problem.
If it was my iPod, I would leave it that way, as I try to avoid these custom settings
The fact is that it is not mine. And I don't know what you did to your iPod. So, if you care enough about your ipod, you should consider restoring as a new one
The battery life issue may be a firmware problem. I don't think the restore would be the cause.

  • Yoga 3 Pro Battery Charging Problems

I've combined several discussions into one because there are multiple cross-overs of symptoms.
After reviewing all the posts, I see there are two types of problems discussed:
Battery charging but only to a certain percentage
    Battery intermittently charging
Several people have reported success with their limited battery percentage problem by following the solutions suggested by MarinM and Vladtech.
For the intermittent charging, several people have reported that sometimes the battery charges, sometimes it doesn't. I'd like to dig into these reports. I have a few questions I'd like to ask.
When does it charge, when does it not?
Are there any patterns to this?
Does swapping electrical outlets make a difference?
Does the USB 2.0 charging port appear loose?
Does the cable show any signs of damage?
Does the AC adapter show any signs of damage?
When a second device is plugged into the extra USB port on the AC Adapter, does this impact Y3P charging?
Are there any battery error messages?
    Thank you for your help,

Have you tried doing turning the battery level display off and then General -> "Reset all settings"? You won't loose any data and that should do the trick.

  • My wife and I both purchased iPhone 5's 14 months ago after being loyal iPhone users since the first model. However, our battery percentage began jumping around on both of our phones and they would randomly shutdown at above 50%. Can anyone else relate?

My wife and I purchased iPhone 5's 14 months ago and both began having the exact same battery percentage issues where the phone would shutdown at above 50% and would only turn back on after getting plugged back in or waiting 5 minutes. We took it to the apple store and they said we need to pay $140 to have them replace our batteries in order to fix it. We have been loyal customers of Apple for years with a purchase of almost every iPhone model. However, I'm dissapointed we are not even able to get two years out of our batteries anymore without having to pay extra for it. I'm seriously considering other phones when we upgrade this year. Is anyone else having this problem and just as frustrated as me? Is this a systemic defective battery issue?

  • Why is the battery percentage on my iPhone 4S on iOS7 freezing then dropping in big 10/20% chunks?

Since upgrading to iOS7 my 4s has been having issues with battery meter. Take today for instance, it fell steadily to 59% then dropped instantly to 39% (I was not using any apps at the time). It has now been stuck on 32% for over half an hour, I've taken photos, used YouTube and other apps in an attempt to drain it but no change.
I've turned off all unnecessary processes, including location services and background refresh to eliminate drain. System status meter shows processor operating at 10% when no apps open so it doesn't look like background processes are draining.
I can't rely on the battery meter when it isn't accurate, it could suddenly drop to 5% or similar without warning.
Is anyone else having these problems?  Any ideas Apple?
It's going to render my phone untrustworthy and inaccurate.

    Hi!
    I am having similar issue.
I have upgraded my iPhone 4s to the new iOS 7 and since then my battery indicator is stucked at 44%. Now regardless how much I charge or how much I use, it is showing the same battery level.
Although this get refreshed when I restart the iPhone and it shows the current battery level and then again stucks at the same percentage. This was working fine on iOS 6.1.3, but is showing issues after the upgrade.
I have tried to restore it, reset settings by selecting Erase All Content and Settings, hard reset (power+home button for 10 sec) but still no good, it shows the same level of battery percentage at which it is since last reboot.
Although I was having iOS 6.1.3 ispw so I downgraded it again as Apple was signing iOS 6.1.3 at that time. Now the battery percentage is working fine. Therefore its not a hardware issue for sure and is just some bug with iOS 7.
Now I have again upgraded to iOS 7.0.3, and I am facing the same issue again. And now I can't even downgrade to iOS 6.1.3.
If you get some tips on how to solve this, then please share the same.

  • Has anyone noticed a massive battery drain problem after the iOS 6.1 update on the iPhone 4s?

I updated my iPhone 4s last night with iOS 6.1 update.  This morning, the battery percentage has been falling at an alarming rate while in standby, and the phone seems to be heating up and staying at an elevated temperature while in standby.  Has anyone else noticed this?  This only started once I did the update.  Any solutions?

    Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
    - Press the red  to delete apps from this list.
    - Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.
