Frustrated with ungrouped music videos.....help

can i do anything with my music videos on my new iphone 5s? i have a ipod touch 2nd gen, and on there the artist / music videos from that artist are grouped together. on the iphone, they are displayed alphabetically. now i have to search for a particular song title just to find that video. why is that....i feel it's a step backwards from what my ipod can do. i want to look up by artist and have all their stuff i have from them to be displayed at once. i don't see any kind of controls or adjustments i can make........confused !

The problem is that .avi files are not compatible with iTunes. You'll need to convert them. Lots of converters out there but I don't know enough about them to make a recommendation.

As for question #2, you call tell how iTunes is sorting songs by the up or down arrow next to a header name.
Even the original order that the songs were entered or date added or last played can be sorted.
Much easier with a mouse or touch pad.

Ok. Here's the results. I tried all the music videos I wanted to put onto the IPod and the results were:
I was able to get good results with 2 full length music videos and 2 video singles(only 2 videos on each disk). For a total of 4 videos.
I was able to encode 5 full length music videos, but the results were distorted (video and audio).
I was unable to copy 2 full length videos due to error failures. 1 was a "No Title Found" error, the other was a "NAVDAT" error.
I guess my next question is: Do you know of any other program(s) that I might try, to see if I can get good results with the videos that didn't work with Handbrake?

How can I sync 2 different iPhones with different music, videos, ringtones?

My problem has already existed for quite a while, but I didn´t find a solution myself. Problem: My wife and I each have an iPhone 3G. I do the sync for both using iTunes. I start the PC with my account for syncing my iPhone and for my wife I start the PC with my wife´s account. But nevertheless the iTunes mediathek shows the same music etc. So both of us get one´s own and the partner´s music on the iphone. But we want to have different ones. Does anybody know a solution for that problem, so that each of us can have his/her own music, videos, ringtones etc.?????

Let me see if I understand you correctly. You are using two different users on your PC and syncing each phone on a single account? If that is the case, each one of the iTunes can have a different library for it. If you do that, then you can sync whatever music you want to each, or if for some reason you have the same library on each of the users, you can do as the other poster suggests and that is create different playlists for each user and only sync that playlist to each phone. Playlists are how I did the sync for my original phone, however since I got my 3G last year, I just sync my entire library. It isn't that big.

Burning a DVD with m4v music videos purchased from iTunes

Instead of buying Apple TV, I would like to burn a DVD with my collection of music videos purchased on iTunes. Most of them are Protected MPEG-4 video files, having the extension .m4v
My question what I need to do to burn a DVD with these files, without loosing the quality and maintaining the video's aspect ratio? I don't mind to upgrade my iDVD programme to the version of 2008 and QuickTime to the version of Pro, if that will help to resolve my problem. Currently iDVD 6 does not support the protected m4v files, hence I can't burn them into a DVD for watching on TV screen. Your advice is highly appreciated.

This is from the Terms of Service page for iTunes. The bottom line is that you can't burn the videos to DVD.

Video icons under "Music Videos" HELP!!!

I have tried re tagging all my music videos. I do not get it... Some will have the artist listed one time but, it may say "u2" 3- videos.. then you click on "u2" and it jumps to the next screen of the 3 videos right? right.. However, I have 3 artist out of 20 that list each video on the first display page.. So why do some list one icon with multiple videos under it but others just list multiple icons. I am anal... I knnow but, it bugs me.....

oh yeah,, I had one of the bad screens before. I took it back waited 2 weeks.. Got the new one today and it is Beautiful!

That makes TOTAL sense now that I look at my list.. Thanks for helping me sleep hahah

First project completed with FCPX Music Video

I just finished up my first project with FCPX
Its a music video for one of my songs.
I shot and edited the video myself with the help of wife and daughter. The video has since gone off to
a video production house, to transfer to broadcast format for here in Australia (digital beta) and its on its way to TV stations for broadcast.
I have very very little experience with video, and had only just gotten FCPX a couple of weeks before along with
the new canon hfs 20 which i used to shoot the video. It was a whirlwind learning curve 8).
I learned plenty about what not to do the next time I make one. 8)
I got some really great help here on the forum and wanted to say thanks, I wouldnt have been able to do it without it.

I have no previous experience as I said with video editing, before FCPX and found the process reasonably intuitive.
It was great to be able to sync the video and audio together..and the effects in FCPX were easy to use, as was keyframing which
i didnt even know existed a couple of weeks back 8)
I really like the product. I am happy with how the video turned out, and I am looking forward to making a better one next time.

well, I had used iMovie a couple of times to transfer VHS tapes to DVD and sony home studio once about 4 years ago, and I used windows movie maker once.... but I had never done any "editing" so I take your comment as a compliment.
I literally have no more experience than that. I guess its a testament to how easy FCPX is to use for someone new. I found the things like keyframing, very intuitive, and I have a strong audio background (logic, cubase, sonar etc) and have run a recording studio for many years. So I applied the same sort of techniques to video ediiting, eg look at other peoples work, and try and work out how they do what they do, and then try and duplicate it. There are a wealth of training videos available, and I watched a heap of those, within the first couple of weeks (you tube videos) about how to do things like keyframing, color correction, effects, transform etc.
I certainly am not trying to portray myself as a newbie, whilst secretly having years of experience. I honestly only just started and I hope you can take me at face value.
Just wanted to clear that up.
Again thanks everyone for your support and well wishes. Perhaps some day I can repay some of that to the group.

Cutting to the Beat of the music... (Music Video) HELP ASAP!!!!!

I've been searching and searching all night long and I can't find exactly what I am looking for. I hope I can explain this the best so that you guys understand it. So I did a music video.. mostly to a dance song and the quality of the song sucked, so I wanted to sync the song and be able to sync and add effects and cool stuff at the beat of the song.. Like cut, zoom in and out, flicker, etc.... I found 2 ways this is can be done.. 1. is to try use the mark tool and find the music and mark it.. the other is using the "Add Edit" But i'm lost and not sure how I can achieve this... Thanks for your help.. Hope this is clear enough on what I am trying to do..

Having the same problem with my music videos streaming from the icloud. Used to work fine. Music streams OK

My apple TV no longer will stream the music videos, especially when in shuffle mode. Music is fine. Music Videos from the computer library work just fine.
All was well until about 3 weeks ago

I even purchased another Apple TV thinking the original may have been defective

Downloading failure with a music video from iTunes.

I recently received an email saying that I will be reimbursed for my purchase of gossip girl season 1. Subsequently, Apple iTunes added two free videos to my account. However for some reason when I downloaded a music video by Daughtry, I tried to play it but the viewing screen is grey. What is wrong? It says that it has downloaded, but it will not show the clip.

Stoopid newby wants to make a music video HELP!

I've read the UM cover to cover and still can't make heads or tails of this.
I have three pieces of video.
One was shot with iMovie and a tube mic, the other two are from digital cameras.
I want to use the audio from the tube mic and the video from the two cams.
It seems the simplest thing to do would be to have three video tracks in the sequence, synch them up then use split clip commands to chop up the video tracks and slide the desired clips together into one video track and then delete the other two. Does this make any sense? the idea of trying to manually synch every video clip separately seems like a huge waste of time.

Do you have the tracks targeted correctly?
Normally, if all cameras rolled continuously throughout the shoot, it would be a fairly simple process to fond a common sync point the cut away the parts of each clip you don't want to keep.
But if any of the cameras stopped and started during the take, you will have to manually sync each shot from each camera.

Sync error with heavy music/video files

Hi. Ever since i've updated to 1.1.4 i have started getting this sync error whenever i try to upload heavy files (over 150mb) on my iphone:
"The Iphone,"M'sIphone" cannot be synced. The disc could not be read from or written to."
What could be the problem? This only happens when there are heavy files. If i remove those videos or music then the sync goes thru just fine.
Also, didnt have this problem earlier. Only started after i updated to 1.1.4.

I've not noticed this issue, and I have moved several movies over, and they fall into the 500-600MB range. Have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps? Try to power the phone off/on, then try a reset. That is accomplished by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake button together until you see the Apple logo, then releasing. Ignore the screen with the slide to power off option. If that doesn't seem to do it, it could be one of the files is having a problem. You say that eliminating all of them lets the sync work. Do you have USB 2.0 ports? Try to add just one file at a time to the sync and then see when the sync finally fails. It could be something corrupt in one of the files, and you might be able to elimiate the one by this method. If possible, then redo that particular file, be it a music file from CD or video, and then try again. See if any of this helps.

With purchased music videos they will not play, an error comes up"The requested URP was not fopund on thsi server", and video doesn't play?

It all depends on exactly how you move the library from one machine to the other. The database holding information about your library is normally in a folder called iTunes, with the media in a subfolder called iTunes Media. In this layout you can usually copy the entire iTunes folder from one machine to the other and it will work. If the media folder is split to a new location however then often the links to tracks will fail on a new computer.
You shoud find that the FindTracks script is able to repair the links in your library.
I'm not sure I know what is going on with the purchased music, however if you enable Edit > Preferences > Store > Automatic Downloads > Music you should be able to recover your past store purchases.
