Frustration has sunk in. . .CSS in Dreamweaver help needed!
I just took over a website that was previously built. When trying to update I really messed it up>
I am not that familiar w/ CSS and am attempting to learn . . .
My problem is the background on the page should go down to the footer (leaving the footer white
and the images obviously I don't want ontop of the header.
Please let me know where I went wrong.

Start by validating your code and fix reported errors. You have an extra closing </div> that doesn't belong. Also, ID names are unique identifiers. They can be used only one time per page.

I purchased a new laptop in August, running Windows 8 and spent hours importing every CD we own (over 300) to my iTunes library in order to get rid of them and declutter a little. I have had to run iTunes in a compatibility mode set for an older version of Windows in order to sync our iPods, as it doesn't work with Windows 8. A pain but not a major problem.....however, this morning I have updated iTunes and everything that hasn't been purchased through the store has now vanished from my library. Can anyone help me find the rest of my music please?

URGENT dreamweaver help needed
I need some urgent help please any experts here. I have 2
html pages. One is my index and one is my home. The index has an
image with a ENTER link which when clicked takes them to another
html which has my flash file in it. The problem I have is when
someone clicks enter the home page opens in big window and my flash
pice is stuck on one side. It is 766 by 662 and I want when someone
clicks enter that the home page open in a smaller window around 776
by 662 in size and in center of screen so it looks better. Also
would be nice when someone type web address the index page also
opens in smaller size. Please can someone tell me in as easy to
understand terms how to to this. Thanks and hope someone is able to
helpWho are you to make my browser fit your site? Wouldn't it be
much more
professionaly to make your site so skillfully that it fits
any browser?

Hello. Well i've never used this program before and its been
very many years since Ive done even basic of html related stuff.
I have several little questions here and there and will more
then likely continue to have more. I thought it best to include it
all into this one thread instead of going in the future and making
tons of seperate ones.
Anyways to the point:
First thing: Info = I opened a premade html file in
DreamWeaver that I downloaded from my ftp. I was gona just edit the
text and such but when I try to select one line (highlight it) to
change the font color it changes the font color for the rest of
text on the page as well.
My Question: Why is it doing this and how do I get my desired
results of simply changing one word without it changing the font
color for most the text on the page?
Second thing: Info = I want a line to go across the page
after certain portions of text.
My Question: Wheres the line insert?

Iphone 4 has lost/deleted my contacts birthdays. help needed.
i did not see the point in making a new topic,
I had spent around an day in total adding eveyones birthdays on to my iphone 4 contacts and all works fine sins i got the iphone(4) at lunch day. about 3 days ago all my birthdays had finished from all my contracts (might of been a sync i done with the facebook app, but i have synced 4 other time before this without losing any information). I then plugged in my phone in to my PC and done a sync and of cource i overrides my contracts info on my PC as it syncs automatic.
i guess i have 2 Questions.
can i get back my old contacts or birthdays back?
Is there a way to sync/merge contract together from PC and iphone rather then one overriding the other?
ThanksIt also just happen to me. I hadn't done an update, a sync or anything.... I did have a lot of apps open and the phone may have been low on memory...
My numbers, texts, etc aren't missing, just the names and data that go with the numbers. I noticed it first with the phone contacts, then when I checked my 'favorites', the names were there at first, then quickly converted to the numbers.
I tried restarting, but to no avail. I'll just sync with iTunes and hope that works. I guess I'll lose the new contacts I added since the last sync though.... Grrr! -
Ex frontpage user new to dreamweaver help!

I am very new to dreamweaver MX and have only ever used
frontpage 2000. I just dont know where to start and was hoping for
some quick advice.
In frontpage you could see the navigation pages so you just
click on one or create a new page. It was very user friendly. I am
creating a very basic page so my first question is how do i create
a website? title it "my acting website" and start with an index
page with a template/title that will go on every page i create.
Do you recommend any tutorials? if there are any for creating
a basic website?Have you looked at the Dreamweaver help files themselves ? F1
and do a
search for ' Templates'
You need to create a basic dreamweaver template, with all the
elements that
will be on every page and declare an editable (an area that
changes on every
page - eg: content area) . You then would create 'children'
pages from
this template.
A basic knowledge of html and css would be advantageous to
you also :)
You may also want to check out the css tutorials at the Adobe

Dreamweaver help! creating navigation bar?
how do i create a navigation bar. my dreamweaver help says a
nav bar has a up. down and over image but doesn't actually tell me
where to get this image or how to create it??
if this is going to be too complex i don't mind just having
my nav bars as text link but can't seem to spread my 7 links out
horizontally as i can only have two space bar in between each text?You and me both my friend! I just got off the phone with
"tech support" trying to pay for a single incident ($35) so they
could walk me through putting a navigation bar on my website. It's
so frustrting dealing with some of these techs. I don't want to be
politically incorrect here, but I always wind up with someone I can
hardly understand ( accent ). This stuff is hard enough to follow
with a language barrier. Then I called in to tech support, they
told me I had to pay that I was out of complitmentary assistance,
so they transferred me to sales, who after speaking to two more
people I had trouble understanding, I was transferred back to tech.
support who asked me if I had paid for a plan! Then she says she
can take the credit card etc., when I got through with that she
tells me that she can't walk me through putting the nav. bar
directly on my web site, that I'll have to open a new page and to a
sample one. ( which means when I finish I'll have to remember all
the steps and try to duplicate it on my own site. ( you know how
that goes! ) It's infuriating. I wound up spending an hour and got
nothing, they couldn't even just charge my card so I'd have credit
toward one call later. ( I had to go after dealing with this for 45
minutes)
Anyway, You have to go to Firefox or maybe photoshop to
create the background image. I did some in Firefox, but for the
page background, not the nav. bar. You would open a new page, put
in the size ( pixels ) you need, then use the rectangle tool to
outline that which selects it. Then you can go to the bottom of the
screen and select the color and gradient tool to create some cool
color effects. The thing I don't know is how to know exactly what
size your navigation bar is going to be ahead of time so to size it
right. I understand it has to be exact. This tech told me that they
can't help with any "design issues", like color, where it goes in
your website, etc. If they talk you through how to do it on a blank
page and then you have trouble on your real website, well that's
another issue and another $35. But I don't even understand if they
will help you on the real website. NIGHTMARE!!!! -
MySQL has run out of memory ::Help needed::

I've created a PHP web application in Dreamweaver, which uses a MySQL database, containing 14 tables.
On one page, I use a an SQL query to select data from 10 of the tables in the database.
However, when I try to preview the page in a browser, a PHP warning stating that the MySQL engine has run out of memory.
Is there a way of increasing the Memory Cache of the engine, or a way to optimize the performance?Is this happening locally?
If it is, try rebooting your system and see if this fixes the problem. If not then you have a problem with your code. If it works locally but not on the server, then you know it's not something in your code causing the issue, so you can confidently go to your host support and have them sort it out.
With any such situation, testing locally first is a vital debugging step.
Hope this gives you a path to follow.

Hey people!
Im new to HTML and CSS and Dreamweaver and would really appreciate some help!! I have to create an Email signature for a clients business (I thought it would be a simple job!) I've created the HTML in Dreamweaver and have uploaded it to the Mac mail. No problems there! The problem is that when i compose a message the HTML stays at the top of the email! I figured out that its an issue with alignment in dreamweaver but i have no idea what i've done wrong or can do to fix it!
Im sure the solution is simple but im on a deadline and REALLY NEED help!! Really hope someone can help!!!

Being new to iBook publishing I need to know if stats are available to determine how many times my iBook has been downloaded. Can anyone help please? I need to persuade someone that this really is worthwhile. Mr Ignorant.
The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ... -

Help need my mac pro for school..it has Grey screen..spinning wheel...
I think I have mountain lion OS X....I have done I think almost every suggestion I've seen in discussion boards.
Boot in recovery repaired disk...ok...repair disk permission...all repaired but one warning...I've tried to reinstall lion (without losing data) and it Got all the way to one minute to be done and then the time change back two hours and kept doing this all night long. I haven't done a back up due to no external for time machine.
I hope someone can please help me I've been going crazy for a week now trying to figure this out. I use my computer for school and I'm currently very behind from in my school work thank you

Try holding the Shift key while your Mac is starting to start into safe mode. Then, after starting in safe mode, open Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type /Library/StartupItems. Then, empty this folder and restart the Mac.
If your Mac starts after doing this, it was a problem with a third-party app that starts automatically when you turn on the computer. It won't start automatically anymore after doing that
