Frustration with multiple answers on when I'll get my pre-ordered iPhone 4s

I ordered the 4s on 10/7 and received my confirmation email at 6:18 CST. Did not receive it on 10/14 as stated in the email. Have talked to three customer service reps last night and this morning with different answers. The first said that my order wasn't received until 5:30 on the 7th and I would be receiving it on the 21st......not good enough. I asked for her supervisor and after a 13 min hold, the sup said that there was nothing she could do. After some additional "conversation", she said that she would call around today and see if she could get me one locally. I called back this morning having no confidence that she would find one, the customer service rep said "you were told last night that you would be shipped one to be delivered Monday." She could give no tracking number. Which story do I believe? Verizon has always been great...till now. Do I believe that I will get one Monday or do I try find one locally? Is this a sign that the company is falling apart? Do I start dumping my stock?

When apple sends you an email stating that you phone is shipped.
That is the only way.

I would merge them before the migration. Also, spend some time doing any batch changes of names and dates beforehand too.
iPhoto Library Manager has good merge and duplicate search facilities.

If your son actually ordered and paid for it in-store then he was given a ship date that it would either be arriving for in-store pick-up or a beginning date that it would be shipped to your house ( Jan 10th - Jan 18th ) etc. Since it was paid for upfront the only thing that would stop you getting it would be if Toshiba stopped producing it and Best Buy totally ran out at all its stores - otherwise Best Buy will do its best to fullfill your order. You can usually talk to someone directly by calling the store and they can check the status of your order for you. Hope this helps a little.

Hi there nursegrl02! We can help here with your questions regarding the upgrade fee and device charge. The upgrade fee is a one time fee that is applied when upgrading with a 2-year contract. If you pre-order with a two-year contract, you would need to add a credit card to your order as you will be charged for the device once it ships out. If you happen to purchase the iPhone with Verizon Edge, there is no upgrade fee. You will also be billed for the device in installments. You may have to pay a down payment with Edge. Did you upgrade with Verizon Edge or our Device payment plan in the past? If so, that is most likely why you were not charged an upgrade fee.

Per chance is your AirPort Express Base Station (AX) an 802.11g model? If so, that is why you are getting this error message from the AirPort Utility running on the iPad. You would need to use either version 5.6 or 5.6.1 running on a Mac or a PC to administer this base station.

My iphone ipad and imessage are all interlinked with my hotmail (apple id.) However this now means when i send an imeesage from my iphone it appears tomy friends as my email, i don't want this to happen! Also when iphone users text my mobile number it doesn't come through to my iphone so i end up missing out on text messages a lot - how can i sync my iphone to receive all texts and imessages but to my mobile number only?

Simply disable all incoming methods of iMessages other then your phone number.
Settings > Messages > Send and Receive at > You may be reached at > Unselect your email addresses.
Now when your friends send you an iMessage they can only send it to your phone number.

Error 5002 when trying to download a pre-order.

When I try and download the new Good Charlotte album, which I preordered, I get the following message:
We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error has occurred (5002).
There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later.
I've contacted the iTunes help people, but they seem to be utterly unhelpful. At one point they even told me I was having problems downloading a pre-order I successfully downloaded in June!
Having looked around the site and the discussions, I've tried many of the things that are listed as remedies for similar problems - I've shortened my computer name, turned off one-click and turned it back on, repaired permissions, etc - but the problem is still occurring.
I've noticed that other people are complaining that they are unable to connect to the ITMS with the new version of iTunes (7.1.1.) I wonder if this is related somehow?
I tried downloading the free song, to find out if it was a problem with my connection, but that downloaded fine.
If anyone could help me I'd be very appreciative. Thanks very much.

The album was released on the 27th March this year, so the error occurred almost immediately after it was supposedly available.
In the manage pre-orders section of my account, it says AVAILABLE but does not give me any choice over whether to download it, just to cancel it. Is this normal?
iTunes customer services reset my password and tried to download the album themselves, but they also got the 5002 error, so it's been passed off to the engineers. How long does that usually take?
If anyone has any other suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

When will apple fulfill all pre orders

I was pre order 11 at my local best buy but apple still has not supplied them with enough phones to fulfill all pre orders. I just would like to no why? What was the point of letting them do pre orders if you were not going to supply them with enough phones. Yet our local ATT store gets two shipments of iphones a day something really needs to be done. I was going to switch from verizon to at&t but if i don't get it soon ill just say screw it and stay with verizon.

Why even get an iphone 4 now? Just wait 3 to 4 months when they ship out a phone that actually works. Unless they do a recall on hardware it could be longer.

How would I go about pre ordering the iPhone 4s using another lines upgrade on my plan? Would I be forced to activate in store when the phone arrives?
Basically what I mean, is if I pre-order at Apple.com (there is a form you fill out which takes you to a pricing page depending on if you have an upgrade or not) how would I go about activating the phone on MY NUMBER while using another numbers upgrade? This will be the first time I have pre-ordered a phone (or had one delievered for that matter) so I have no idea how to activate it..

You just purchase the phone on the line that is eligible for an upgrade (thus, using their upgrade and extending THEIR line's contract another 2 years) and when you receive your phone, you will activate it on THEIR line first (this is a very important step) then, you can reactivate their phone on their line, and activate the new iPhone 4S on your line. And you'll be good to go.
Just keep in mind that it will extend the other line's contract, not yours, and you have to activate it on that line first.
This isn't what I was told. I was told to just place the order using the eligible line (my wife's) and when the phone arrives to just activate it using my phone number.
If you do this, you will be charged the full price of the phone. Activating it on the line it was purchased on first accepts the terms of service you sign when you upgrade. If you don't do so, you are charged the full retail price of the phone, because you technically did not accept what you signed

     Oct 1 - Oct 6 is usually conservative. You will probably get it sooner. You'll get another email when it ships.

     Pre-orders were shipped from China for the same reason they are built over there cheap labor. Apple will probably continue this until all early orders are filled.
Do they usually ship via Fedex or UPS?
     Again pre-orders came UPS. No idea if they will continue to use them only.

After my local Verizon Store (Orlando MetroWest) totally goobered up my 4/4/14 Samsung pre-order, I had to cancel that, and chose to go to BestBey to get the item ordered again. Through BB I didn't have to jump through any hoops for that silly $50 mail-in rebate card. It was was just a simply $199.
Received the BestBuy e-mail saying, "You pre-order Verizon phone is here!!", and I picked it up this morning. Sweet!!!
I'll not make the mistake of attempting it with a Verizon Store (or through their web site) again in the future.
