FS700 Footage. Audio missing on import

I have recorded 1 hour footage from a concert. When I import it into Premier CC 2014, the Audio is missing, or all 1 hour audio is "compressed" into the first 12 minutes.
I can play the clip in Quicktime og VLC without any audio problems...
What to do....?

Would an assumption that this is AVCHD be correct? If so ... I hope you grabbed the entire folder structure from the card & copied that to your computer in one piece, then navigated to the footage using PrPro's "media browser" and imported to your project from there, then used Project Panel to add to source monitor or timeline ... ?

  • Some audio missing from imported video clip

I use FRAPS to record some of my game play.  I recently recorded some game play and when I watched it using windows media player I can hear all audio recorded (game sounds, my mic, and teamspeak).  When I import into Premiere Elements 11 the teamspeak audio is missing.  You can't hear it at all.  Is this a feature that I have to enable/disable in Premiere Elements?

  • Audio missing when importing clips

Hi, importing clips from my Sony handycam, no audio is available. Even opening the single clip file with Quicktime, no audio. Don't think it's the camera, as long as I tried with another similar model and the same problem occurs.

Hi all, just updating iMovie to 9.0.7 version the issue was fixed.
    Thx all

  • Half of audio missing when importing .avi

Hi, I am having some trouble with importing avi-files in Premiere Pro 5.5. I searched forum, read and did the troubleshooting guide at the wiki plus searched through the Adobe Premiere Pro Help without any result.
Today I've been editing for 8 hours and everything worked fine. I imported some clips and used some of them. But then I messed up the bin-structure so I cleared the whole bin and started importing them again. I also deleted the sequence so no clips where in use.
But now when I try to import the exact same file that worked before, The audio gets out of sync exactly half of the movies length. Like the audio starts in the middle of the clip while the movie starts from the beginning. So half way through the file it gets quiet because the audio ends there.
I rebooted my laptop and restarted Premiere Pro. Now I've also reinstalled it. The files play fine in Media Player, VLC and Quicktime.
Thankful for any kind of hints that could solve the problem
Edit: now there is no sound at all - sometimes.. it kindof differs
Edit2: now it started working again - although sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.. sooo annoying
But if any one else gets this problem: restart restart restart restart, ;<

Thank's a lot for the help and the reading! I got a lot more wiser about codecs and the details behind the file extension.
I shot the video (and audio ) with a Nikon D300 DSLR.
Here is the specs of the camera if needed.
    http://www.dpreview.com/news/2009/7/30/nikond300s#specs
I ran the errored file through G-spot and this is the result. This is currently the only file that isn't working. Before, another file didn't work, but then it started working and now this file isn't working. At this point I imported all the other files into Premiere and they seem to work at the moment.
Also, there is a red line above the video clips in the timeline even before adding any effects. The project is 25 fps and my videos are 24 fps. I didn't realize until now, hehe. Here is my sequence information.
    Properties
    6_Middagen
    1280 x 720
    00;11;20;05, 25,00 fps
    48000 Hz - Stereo
    Settings
However I also tried importing and adding the same video clip on a Sequence with the settings
    Editing mode: DSLR
    Timebase: 24.00 fps
    Display format: 24 fps Timecode
The rest of the settings are the same as in the picture above. This time I didn't get any colored render line. But the audio problem was still there.
This is my project. You can see the waveform disappearing right after my timeline marker.
I Googled "Nikon D300s h.264" and got a lot of results saying it does use it. I know my video files didn't work in CS4 before but the Nikon support said they would work fine in future updates of Adobe Premiere Pro. I am using Adobe Premiere CS5.5 though.
The weird thing is that one file randomly stopped working. Then it started working again and now another file isn't working.

  • Audio missing from imported QuickTime Movie

I imported a mpeg off my cybershot. the audio is loud and clear in iPhoto and again when clicking to play the same file in QuickTime. I was trying to create a smaller file to email and post on the web - imported it to iMovie (iWeb suggests "use iMovie's QT web export settings to reduce file size"). But after importing file, there is no audio. Apple "Help Topics" suggest checking to see if the movie is MPEG Muxed 1 or 2. It in fact is, but there is no further suggestion on how to overcome this problem of no audio in iMovie/QT.
    Please help! Thanks!

    Hello-
I am trying to download the MPEG Streamclip because I am having the same exact issue as the above poster but when I try to open the download it says that Safari can't open because there is no available application. I'm sure that this is basic but I can't figure it out. Can you please walk me through how to complete this process and convert the files??
    Thank you.

  • Audio missing from imported videos?

I am fairly new to using iMovie, so please bear with me if I have no idea what I am talking about!
Audio is fine when I playback videos in Quicktime prior to import, but once imported to iMovie, there's no sound. I haven't changed my methodology at all, and this used to work, then one day, no dice. The only thing I can think of, is that I was "experimenting" one day, and selected "Extract Audio" from the right-click drop down menu. Now that option is greyed out. I have a feeling this is my problem, and that I somehow activated something. Any ideas how to "de-activate" it??
    Thanks in advance!

Well, I went back and tried your advice. The conversion to .dv went fine, and when I imported that file into iMovie, voila, there was audio! But alas, once I added my title slide, and exported as Quicktime, audio was once again gone. Sigh. Any more advice would be so appreciated...

    Thanks for your help, all...

Thanks for all this information, T.
So why are you editing a 1440x1080 video in a 1920x1080 project? If this is AVCHD footage, it's very important to use the right project settings.
That has no effect on your audio, of course. But it could affect your video quality when you output your file.
That say, can you explain what you mean by "Audio missing from save project"?
Do you mean that you don't hear the audio in Premiere Elements -- or that you don't hear it when you output, say, an MOV or WMV file?
What file format are you exporting and what are you playing soundless this file on?
And, finally, is there no audio whatsoever, or is only some audio (music, for instance) missing from your output?

  • FS700 AVCHD Audio Glitch

    Hi All,
We are working with two iMac's via a Lacie 5 Big Network Harddrive. We are using the most up to date version of Premiere CC 2014.
We swap projects from machine to machine on a daily basis depending on what editor is assigned to the project.
We have found a few times that when we are editing with FS700 everything seems fine on import then when we switch machines or open a project up a few days later, audio glitches appear and cannot be fixed! The only way I can describe it, is that the audio loops a 1-2 second chunk for the entire clip. The waveform shows this too. We have tried to take the files offline then reconnect but that didn't work, even tried re-importing but the same issue occurs.
I have read that a few people have also had this issue with AVCHD footage. I did read that Adobe fixed this problem but it is still happening on our systems.
Does anyone know a fix or can Adobe confirm if the next update will fix this?
    Thanks
    John

    Hi John,
Were the media files ingested correctly? Was the entire contents of the SD card copied to the hard drive and then ingested via the Media Browser? If you did not ingest in this manner, you can have problems with audio.

  • Some audio missing in CS5

    Hi everyone,
I recenrtly upgraded from CS4, and am now using a full, paid version of CS5. (Windows 7 x64).
Using Premiere CS5, I opened a CS4 project file, and everything seemed to update smoothly.  However, I quickly discovered that some of my audio was missing. The missing audio comes from an mpeg file.  Mind you, the video comes through fine, but the audio is gone, not only in the timeline, but even if I open the file in the source monitor.  In fact, according to Premiere, there are no waveforms associated with the clip.  However, if I directly open the file in Windows Media Player, the audio plays back fine.
    Now it gets wierder.
Other audio is working fine.  I have a handful of short mpeg clips, in which both audio and video come through just fine.
However, my primary mpeg clip, which is quite long, is not coming through with audio.
    Any tips on this one?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi,
I had a similar problem with CS3 and m2V files. I believe that I just added the ad2ac3dec.dll to the Premier folder copying it from the Encore folder per www.slashcam.com/EN/info/Premiere-CS3--No-audio-on-some-imports-MPEG-258091.html .
    Hope this helps!

  • Audio missing from video recording.

I recorded some camp footage with a canon rebel T2i. there is audio when i play the clip in imovie timline, but when i export it there are peices of the audio missing. I have removed the clip and re-uploaded it several times and the audio is still missing in the same places. Im not sure if maybe i have the setting wrong or if maybe the file from my camera is corrupted.

Same problem with me and it seems a lot more users. Audio and Video are playing fine in other players and other types of video, everything is connected as it should. You would think that something major like this would not get past quality control before it's being released. I'm getting more and more agitated as there has been absolutely no mention of this from Apple, yet this seems to be a wide spread and major problem. I bought Season 1 of The Office tonight and it is rendered useless because audio won't play, and the DRM limits how you can view your videos.

  • Footage Looses Quality When Imported!?

I worked on footage in Motion from FCP and then when I saved in Motion and went back to FCP the quality was reduced. I then went into Motion and exported it and when I imported the footage and placed the footage in the viewer the quality was normal, but when I dragged it down into the timeline, the quality is reduced even before I render. Any ideas, thanks!

capture footage in iMovie 06, import to FCP...
Why? Why did you capture with iMovie if you are working with FCP?
#20 Using iMovie to Capture for FCP edit
Shane's Stock Answer #20: Using iMovie to Capture for use in FCP.
iMovie handles the media differently from FCP, specifically where audio is concerned. So it is not a recommended workflow. Here's why...
iMovie captures using DV Stream (.dv) standard which does not use timecode. That is a big disadvantage over the way that FCP captures in that you can't go back and recapture the material at a later date if you need to revisit a project.
The DV/NTSC specification (the one FCP uses) also calls for seperate tracks for audio and video, even if you capture it as one clip. iMovie' DV stream format is muxed audio and video, which means that they are tied together (I can't get into specifics because I ain't no engineer or programmer). FCP is a bit more demanding and captures the seperate audio/video tracks, either in a single media file or as seperate video and audio files. With FCP you could capture video only or audio only because each is defined by the DV specs. while with iMovie you can't.
Also, if you drop the iMovie footage into the timeline, your will get the RED render bar forcing you to render the footage in order to see it. You can use either QT Pro or Compressor to convert the .dv footage into DV/NTSC in order for FCP to work with it without needing to render.

  • HD video shoot on xdcam, channen 2 audio missing. how can i fix it?

HD video shoot on xdcam, channen 2 audio missing. how can i fix it?

XDCAM, and other codecs like AVCHD, have metadata located in the folders on the memory card. Best practice is to copy ENTIRE contents of card directly over to your hard drive, without using any "transfer utility" software. Then in Premiere, import via the "Media Browser" rather than "File > Import". This gives Premiere the very best chance of correctly figuring out what kind of video and audio assets it is dealing with so it can handle them correctly.
    Hope this might help

  • Hi, I have problem with importing MOV files from SJCAM 4000. MOV files are in supported formats for Adobe Premiere Elements 11. But if I'm importing MOV file, only audio part is imported, video part is not imported. How can I solve this problem?

Hi, I have problem with importing MOV files from SJCAM 4000. MOV files are in supported formats for Adobe Premiere Elements 11. But if I'm importing MOV file, only audio part is imported, video part is not imported. How can I solve this problem?

    haben
From looking at the specifications of your camera (SJCam 4000), we know already what video compression your camera is using. It is H.264.
A H.264.mov file should be supported by Premiere Elements 11. On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer? And, are you running QuickTime and Premiere Elements 11 from a
User Account with administrative privileges? Please go to Premiere Elements 11 Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime to confirm that you find
presets there for the QuickTime choice there.
What are the properties of these H.264.mov files - is it 1080p30 (1920 x 1080p30)  or something else? Do you know if this camera is recording with a variable or
    a constant frame rate?
Please review and consider and then we will decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?

Hello.   The link FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?
does not work, and i need the answer please. My imported MTS clips are not playing back audio because it seems that no audio imported with the video.   Thanks, Don.

    Hi there
Audio plays when the object with the audio assigned appears. This is why you hear it when the Button appears.
Try assigning the audio instead to the object that appears when you click the button. Perhaps the caption.

I'm thinking of using Final Cut Pro to straighten slightly crooked footage and then re-import back to iMovie to complete the video. Does this have any impact on image quality?

As your rotate the image, you will begin to see black edges. So, as Tom implies, the image must be scaled up to hide those voids. If you shot 4k ad are editing in a HD timeline, no problem, lots of room to spare. If you shot 1080 and are editing in a 1080 timeline, you will run into issues at a certain point. However, if your 1080 project is going to be transcoded to 720 or ye olde DVD you won't notice any deterioration at all.
