FTP adapter  (10.1.3.3) on Solaris

Hi,
I am trying to setup ftp adapter (10.1.3.3) on solaris with sftp set to true. I made all the necessary configuration changes to $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/oc4j_soa/application-deployments/default/FtpAdapter/oc4j-ra.xml. Following properties are updated in this file.
<config-property name="host" value="fpt2000.odc.vzwcorp.com"/>
<config-property name="port" value="22"/>
<config-property name="username" value="rajarka"/>
<config-property name="password" value="welcome1"/>
<config-property name="useSftp" value="true"/>
Restarted the app. server. I created a bpel process using this adapter and deployed it suncessfully on the server. Everything worked fine as expected. As soon as I dropped the file in the source directory, it was picked and moved to destination directory. After couple of successful testing, I added another adapter configuration to the file and restarted the server. Now the ftp sample bpel process does not work any more. I get the following error.
file:/u01/app/oracle/product/soa_fp1/bpel/domains/default/tmp/.bpel_SFTPSample2_1.0_0b7fa2f7db32e090c653ca84876b552c.tmp/FTP_Out.wsdl [ Put_ptt::Put(opaque) ] - WSIF JCA Execute of operation 'Put' failed due to: Could not instantiate InteractionSpec oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.outbound.FTPInteractionSpec due to:

     Configuration: <code-source> in /u01/app/oracle/product/soa_fp1/j2ee/oc4j_soa/config/server.xml
Anybody has any suggestion what causes this problem ?
thanks

    No it doesn't!
    Actually, FTP adapter in BPEL support secure FTP (FTPS, FTP over SSL), but only on Solaris platform if believe documentation.
    You can try to connect BPEL FTP adapter to InterConnect using new JCA adapter (in IC 10.1.2.0.2), but I'm not sure wether BPEL FTP adapter is JCA-compatable or not (since it is not in Oracle AS adapters package but inside BPEL)...

  • Q: ftp adapter local storage

    My dba is asking how much space he should allocate on what file system for intermediate storage used by the BPEL ftp adapter. Does the ftp adapter uses local disk storage to temporarily stage inbound or outbound files for processing? If so, where?
    BTW: Our host OS is Solaris.
    Thanks,

    Can anyone let me know how to enforce the XSD validation in the adapter. As of now only the structure of the message is being checked.

  • Getting filename in FTP Adapter in BPEL

    How to retrieve the filename read by the FTP adapter in ora-bpel?

    Just figured out how to do this.
    1. Create a variable of type 'InboundHeader_msg' defined in 'ftpAdapterInboundHeader.wsdl'.
    2. Reference this in the 'Adapters' tab of the FTP adapter receive activity.

  • Getting filename in FTP Adapter in ESB

    I am trying to get the filename on an inbound FTP adapter in an ESB. I've followed the directions I have found, by following these steps:
    1. The namespace xmlns:ehdr="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.esb.server.headers.ESBHeaderFunctions" is automatically generated in the xsl file.
    2. Create a variable in the xsl file, with value ehdr:getRequestHeader('/fhdr:InboundFileHeaderType/fhdr:fileName','fhdr=http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/file/;'). Let's give it the name INFILENAME.
    3. Reference the variable in some expression in the xsl file: $INFILENAME
    4.Set UseHeaders="true" in the FTP inbound wsdl file
    When I do this in a file adapter, I can use the value. When I do this in an ftp adapter, no value comes back.
    Any ideas?

    Yes, that did it, thanks. I had a typo:
    getRequestHeader('/fhdr:InboundFtpHeaderType/fhdr:fileName,'fhdr=http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/ftp/;')
    which should have had "FTP" in upper case. The correct code is as you stated:
    getRequestHeader('/fhdr:InboundFTPHeaderType/fhdr:fileName,'fhdr=http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/ftp/;')

  • Retaining the FileName in the Receiver FTP adapter

    Hi experts,
    I have a situation here, were i need to retain the FileName in the message header in the receiver FTP adapter.
    I have tried using variable subtitution but seems the FileName is not supported in variable substitution.
    Please help
    Thanks

    Hello,
    if you need file name to be retained in the receiver adapter from the sender side. then u can do that by dynamic configuration using adapter specific message attributes, check this blog for details-
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    if you dont have a mapping in your interface to use dynamic configuration, then you can do it via adapter module also- have a look here, /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/07/15/copy-a-file-with-same-filename-using-xi

  • Using relative path for in file/ftp adapter

    Hi All,
    How to have a relative path for file/ ftp adapter's inbound/outbound operation?
    Example: Consider $ORA_HOME = /home/oracle --> This environment variable can be different on different machines
    i want to drop a file in to $ORA_HOME/folder1/folder2 (Or poll for a file).
    <partnerLinkBinding name="FTP">
    <property name="wsdlLocation">FTP.wsdl</property>
    <property name="out_dir" type="LogicalDirectory">What do i write here???</property>
    <property name="retryInterval">60</property>
    </partnerLinkBinding>
    if i cant configure this in partner link section or in activation agent sction, how else do i achieve this?
    i am using 10.1.3.* version.
    Thanks in advance.
    Roshan.

    You can achive it using the deployment scripts if the directory is changing on the basis of the environment
    If you want to change at run time than you can use the jca properties to set using the variables at runtime.

  • Need Help on FTP Adapter Archival Process

    Hi Guru's,
    I implemented FTP Adapter for Inbound Operation to read the file from inbound directory and after reading the file should be archived in Archival Directory and Delete the file from directory from inbound directory.
    In my case file is successfully picked from inbound directory and records inserted in to database table. File is not Archiving in Archival Folder and File deleted from Inbound Directory. Here I need to Archive the files in Archival Folder.
    Thanks in Advance
    Could you please help me in this regard and Please provide pointers to me

    <property name="UseRemoteArchive" value="true"/>
    Set this property to "true" to notify the Oracle FTP Adapter that the archival directory is on the same FTP server. If set to "false", the Oracle FTP Adapter uses a local file system folder for archival.

  • Process TIFF file from FTP server using File/FTP adapter

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to process a scanned document TIFF file from a directory on an FTP server using the File/FTP adapter and process through XI into a Web Service via a receiver SOAP adapter.
    My question is can the file/FTP adapter be used to process the TIFF file into XI from an FTP server ? Also, what settings need to be made on the file adapter to allow this file to be processed into XI ?
    Thanks in advance

    hi colin,
    TIFF is type of image file, it can be converted to binary using java mapping

    The FTP server you're connecting to does not understnad the MDTM command the FTP adapter is configured to use in order to obtain the files date/time:

    Try using one of the other File Modification Time options in the FTP Adapter wizard such as Directory Listing or File Name Substring

  • Issue with SAP PI FTP Adapter

    Hi All,
    We are seeing an issue with the FTP Adapter Communication Channel in SAP PI 7.1. When the communication channel is connecting to a FTP Server and if the connection request timeout ( ex: SFTP Server down ) we see a connection error .
    However the overall communciation channel status doesnot refelct it and it is still in GREEN status. The status being wrong doesnt raise an adapter CCMS alert. Also we are seeing that the communication channel stops all connection attempts after the failure for that communication channel.
    Wanted to check if anyone has seen or encountered the issue and how did you get past the problem.
    Thanks in advance..
    Arunava

    Hi,
    Could you please let me know whether it is sender communication channel or receiver ?
    Also please check below.
    1. Java messaging system queues are free or hanged ?
    2. Please mention time out paramter in the channel.
    3. Did you try Start/Stop the channel.
    Please get back to me.

    I have a requirement in which a BPEL process shud create a folder named as sysdate dynamically and write a

    passing the file directory as concat('PO/',xp20:current-date(),'/') to outbound header directory variable.Problem is FTP
    adapter is not creating the sysdate folder its says:1.check u have privileges 2.file name is too long....Blah....Blah.
    But i have all the privileges for that user.If i manually create the sysdate folder the FTP adapter is placing the CSV
    file.The same works fine with file adapter...but i need to use FTP since the FTP server can change in future.Seems to

  • Need help with a simple process with FTP Adapter and File Adapter

    I am trying out a simple BPEL process that gets a file in opaque mode from a FTP server using a FTP adapter and writes it to the local file system using a File Adapter. However, the file written is always empty (zero bytes). I then tried out the FTPDebatching sample using the same FTP server JNDI name and this work fine surprisingly. I also verified by looking at the FTP server logs that my process actually does hit the FTP server and seems to list the files based on the filtering condition - but it does not issue any GET or RETR commands to actually get the files. I am suspecting that the problem could be in the Receive, Assign or Invoke activities, but I am not able identify what it is.
    I can provide additional info such as the contents of my bpel and wsdl files if needed.
    Would appreciate if someone can help me with this at the earliest.
    Thanks

    <ftp adapter name><instance number>-<time stamp>
    With the next patchset for 9iAS InterConnect 9.0.2, which is expect to be released within the next week or so,
    we'll provide aditional functionality for the FTP adapter. That will include features that allow users to specify custom
