FTP adapter converting "&" to "&" while creating XML file.
Hi
Using a BPEL process: I am fetching data from a DB and placing that data into a XML file on target. One of the fields (Type:Varchar2) contains "&" ampersand character.When this data is being put in an XML, the target file contains "&" instead of "&".
Please note: This seems to be happening only when the XML file is created on target; Because I can see that during the transformation as well as in the input variable to FTPPut adapter "&" is shown as "&" only (and not "&").
Please let me know in what way can we avoid this conversion of "&" to "&" on the target XML file".
Thanks for the help!

Achal Mundra

Thanks Anuj.
I actually needed that the target file should also be without any namespace references or XML headers(e.g. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>). We have got the following data as the input to the FTP adapter :
+<TempStringToRemoveNS_Var>+
+<RadiantDocument CreationSource="CompanyName" CreationTimestamp="2012-11-06T05:12:39.009-08:00" Name="Org Hierarchy Import" Version="1.8">+
+<OrgHierarchyList>+
+<OrgHierarchy Name="ABC" LongName="NewLongName" ParentOrgHierarchyName="XYZ" OrgHierarchyLevelName="Region"/>+
+</OrgHierarchyList>+
+</RadiantDocument>+
+</TempStringToRemoveNS_Var>+
We need the target XML file to have data exactly as below:
+<RadiantDocument Name="Org Hierarchy Import" CreationSource="CompanyName" CreationTimestamp="2011-02-28T02:48:32" Version="1.8">+
+<OrgHierarchyList>+
+<OrgHierarchy Name="ABC" LongName="NewLongName" ParentOrgHierarchyName="XYZ" OrgHierarchyLevelName="Region"/>+
+</OrgHierarchyList>+
+</RadiantDocument>+
Hence, it should not have any parent node or XML header or namespace.
Your suggestion would be really helpful.

Achal

PSHi Rama Krishna
Are you saying that you are transferring data of your
internal table to another server using a FM??? Am not
sure if that can be done.
How about trying this way????
Download the data to a file on your application
server, using open dataset statement. Then transfer this
file to the other server using FM's FTP_CONNECT, FTP_COMMAND ....
Kind Regards

Heap space error while creating XML document from Resultset
I am getting Heap space error while creating XML document from Resultset.
It was working fine from small result set object but when the size of resultset was more than 25,000, heap space error
I am already using -Xms32m -Xmx1024m
Is there a way to directly write to xml file from resultset instead of creating the whole document first and then writing it to file? Code examples please?
here is my code:
stmt = conn.prepareStatement(sql);
result = stmt.executeQuery();
result.setFetchSize(999);
Document doc = JDBCUtil.toDocument(result, Application.BANK_ID, interfaceType, Application.VERSION);
JDBCUtil.write(doc, fileName);
public static Document toDocument(ResultSet rs, String bankId, String interfaceFileType, String version)
throws ParserConfigurationException, SQLException {
DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
Document doc = builder.newDocument();
Element results = doc.createElement("sims");
results.setAttribute("bank", bankId);
results.setAttribute("record_type", "HEADER");
results.setAttribute("file_type", interfaceFileType);
results.setAttribute("version", version);
doc.appendChild(results);
ResultSetMetaData rsmd = rs.getMetaData();
int colCount = rsmd.getColumnCount();
String columnName="";
Object value;
while (rs.next()) {
Element row = doc.createElement("rec");
results.appendChild(row);
for (int i = 1; i <= colCount; i++) {
columnName = rsmd.getColumnLabel(i);
value = rs.getObject(i);
Element node = doc.createElement(columnName);
if(value != null)
node.appendChild(doc.createTextNode(value.toString()));
else
node.appendChild(doc.createTextNode(""));
row.appendChild(node);
return doc;
public static void write(Document document, String filename) {
//long start = System.currentTimeMillis();
// lets write to a file
OutputFormat format = new OutputFormat(document); // Serialize DOM
format.setIndent(2);
format.setLineSeparator(System.getProperty("line.separator"));
format.setLineWidth(80);
try {
FileWriter writer = new FileWriter(filename);
BufferedWriter buf = new BufferedWriter(writer);
XMLSerializer FileSerial = new XMLSerializer(writer, format);
FileSerial.asDOMSerializer(); // As a DOM Serializer
FileSerial.serialize(document);
writer.close();
} catch (IOException ioe) {
ioe.printStackTrace();
//long end = System.currentTimeMillis();
//System.err.println("W3C File write time :" + (end - start) + " " + filename);
}you can increase your heap size..... try setting this as your environment variable.....

Error while uploading .xml file for Customer/Vendor List for Italy
Hi All,
We are facing problem while uploading the .xml file in DMEE transaction for the new Customer/Vendor List for Italy.
We have followed the entire process given in the OSS Note(1090857).
We have SAP 4.6c and followed the below steps:
1. Created ID-FI-IT Development class
2. Added domains
3. Added Data elements
4. Tried to upload the given .xml file and got any error saying ".xml file could not be interpreted".
Also there is a .SAR file mentioned to upload if we receive any errors while uploading .xml file.
Tried uploading the .SAR file also. STill we are recieving the same Error.
Can any one of you help us out.
Thanks in Advance.
RameshOk, we upload .SAR file in this way:
1. unpack .SAR file with SAPCAR.EXE program. Yuo obtain 2 files
R492445.P9C and K492445.P9C
2. put K492445.P9C in directory \SAPMNT\TRANS\COFILES and put R492445.P9C in directory \SAPMNT\TRANS\DATA of your system (DEV, TST or PRD)
3. Use Tx STMS. If You want create DMEE tree in DEV system, go to DEV import queue. Choose menu Extras | Other requests | Add. Insert P9CK492445 in Transp. request field.
4. Import the request. This creates the DMEE tree. You don't need ti upload XML file after. You can see the DMEE tree created with Tx DMEE and inserting
Tree type UMS1
Format tree IT_CUST_VEN_LIST
5. after continue follow the note
I hope this help you

Error while retreiving xml file from database
Hi-
I am trying to configure Planning and getting the following error message at instance configuration step:
"Error while retreiving xml file from database"
We looked at PlanningSystemDB.properties, changes server name to its ip, reinstalled planning, made sure both auth methods are selected (sql server and windows), created new relational repository.. still the same error.
Here is the contents of the configtool error file:

Thanks for any help.After spending 2+ hrs with Hyperion Support nothing got resolved.. Just to give more background on this problem, we originally reconfigured all Hyperion components to use different SQL server, that is when the problem started happening as soon as we got to Planning Instance Configuration. Could this be the situations when old server name is still somewhere in the system?.. Could this be Shared Services problem.

Create XML file on application server (unix directory) from internal table
Hallo everybody,
I have got the following problem:
I am working with <u><b>release 4.6C</b></u> and have got to create XML files from HR master data and organizational data respectively.
This takes place in 3 steps:
1. Collect the data in an internal table
2. Convert the data to XML format using the function module 'SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT'
3. Download the data
If I download the converted data, which are in an internal table, to the presentation server via the function module WS_DOWNLOAD and open it with the Internet Explorer, everything is ok.
If I download the converted data to the application server, i.e. into a unix directory via
open dataset, loop at internal table, transfer working area to file, close dataset
and then try to open it, this is not possible, because after the last tag some unreadable characters, e.g. a square, appear that arent supposed to be there. Thats what my colleagues told me, for I havent got access to the server.
I have no idea where these characters come from and how I can get rid of them. I guess that either I have to modify (how?) the table with the converted data before the download or I have to use another way to convert the data. For the second way I would probably have to work with an XML class or an XML interface. Unfortunately II am not an expert in working with classes so sample coding would have to be rather detailed.
Heres some more information about how I work with the conversion function module:
call function 'SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT'
exporting
i_field_seperator = lv_field_seperator
i_line_header = lv_line_header
i_filename = lv_xml_file
i_appl_keep = ' '
i_xml_doc_name = lv_xml_doc_name
importing
pe_bin_filesize = lv_result
tables
i_tab_sap_data = gt_data
changing
i_tab_converted_data = lt_tab_converted_data
exceptions
conversion_failed = 1
others = 2.
lv_field_seperator = X.
lv_xml_doc_name = Personalstammdaten Publikation
lv_result: type i
gt_data: fields: PERNR, PERSG, PERSK etc.
types:
begin of truxs_xml_line,
data(256) type x,
end of truxs_xml_line.
types:
truxs_xml_table type table of truxs_xml_line.
data:
lv_tab_converted_data type truxs_xml_line,
lt_tab_converted_data type truxs_xml_table
open dataset lv_xml_file for output in binary mode.
loop at lt_tab_converted_data into lv_tab_converted_data.
transfer lv_tab_converted_data to lv_xml_file.
endloop.
close dataset lv_xml_file
lv_xml_file: /usr/users/.../.../Personendaten_2004-11-02.xml
Hope the information is detailed enough! Otherwise let me know. Thank you in advance.
Message was edited by: Johannes SchwehmHi Raja,
tried the "TEXT" mode, but that didn't help.
There are still characters after the last tag, that are not supposed to be there including a date that is not
the creation date of the file.
Thank you for your help.

HOW to read CLOB and create XML file on UNIX/LINUX
Hi,
Could you please let me know, how to read CLOB using ADODB. I have column CLOB type on Oracle 9.2, with content of whole XML type. I am unable to retreive more than 4k. I use adLongVarChar. So I have written Oracle stored procedure to read the clob and create XML file using DBMS_LOB package and UTL_FILE package, still no joy.
Please help.
example of my XML file is:

ThanksHello myself,
nobody has answered my question, so now I answer myself!!
The wrong part is to read the file with "open dataset" and to create the inputstream with
p_istream = p_streamfactory->create_istream_itable(
table = g_xml_table
size = g_xml_size ).
Better ist to create the inputstream with
p_istream = p_streamfactory->create_istream_uri(
.......................PUBLIC_ID = ''
.......................SYSTEM_ID = '
applserver\I$\TEMP\Datei.XML' ).
In this way no space is needed for the file.
Best regards,
Thomas

Bokaro Steel CityHi guys,
Sybrand, aplogoies, the second line of the error stack was on one line in the first post, full error stack below:
ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed
The program issued a command but the command length is incorrect.
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOB", line 716
ORA-06512: at "JLMS.LOAD_DATA_UTIL", line 417
ORA-06512: at line 2I have looked at that error code as you mentioned, but the second line here doesn't really help much.
Hoek, i took your advice and tried to replace FILEOPEN with OPEn but got the same error.
Just to clarify as well, I am not using UNC or relative file paths as I know that these can cause problems.

Create XML File in HIPAA 834 file structure
Hi ,
We have to create XML file in HIPAA 834 file format , Do we have any build in component/Adapter for this . It something like calling that build in omponent and map the XML elements to the source field and ODI should be able to create the XML file in HIPPA 834 structure format .
As of now we are using complex file to create aXML file in this format . We are looking for some option that could reduce this manual workIf I understand correctly, Basically you need to create the xsd for HIPAA 834 document
This can be done by software in SOA called Document Editor- Oracle B2B
This is around 10GB installable. in this you can create the xsd by creating the ecs file and then exporting to xsd -

How to create xml file through SDK?
Hi,
I need help in creating the xml file using SAP B1 SDK?
i want to create xml file which is in tally xml format.
Warm Ragards,
MahendraHi Mahendra,
This is an example to save a form as XML :
try
System.Xml.XmlDocument oXmlDoc = null;
string sXmlString = null;
oXmlDoc = new System.Xml.XmlDocument();
// get the form as an XML string
sXmlString = Form.GetAsXML();
// load the form's XML string to the
// XML document object
oXmlDoc.LoadXml(sXmlString);
string sPath = null;
sPath = System.IO.Directory.GetParent(System.Windows.Forms.Application.StartupPath).ToString();
sPath = System.IO.Directory.GetParent(sPath).ToString();
// save the XML Document
oXmlDoc.Save((sPath + @"\Form" + sType + ".xml"));
//oXmlDoc.Save(DIRECTORY_TEMPLATE + "Form" + sType + ".xml");
catch (Exception ex)
SBO_Application.MessageBox("ERROR in 'SaveAsXML()' : " + ex.Message, 1, "Ok", "", "");
And an example to navigate in the XML file :
System.Xml.XmlDocument xxml;
System.Xml.XmlNode node;
System.Xml.XmlNodeList nodes;
xxml = new System.Xml.XmlDocument();
xxml.LoadXml(oRecAU.GetAsXML());
nodes = xxml.SelectNodes("BOM/BO/IFC_AU/row");
foreach (System.Xml.XmlNode node in nodes)
oColumn.ValidValues.Add(node.SelectSingleNode("Code").InnerText, node.SelectSingleNode("Name").InnerText);
I hope it's help you.
Regards
Michael
