FTP Adapter where FTP server is SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS

We are purchasing "SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS" as the secure FTP server.
1. Has anyone used this with Oracle FTP Adapter to securely FTP files to the mainframe?
2. What is the best way to maintain the username and password in the oc4j-ra.xml of the FTP adapter?
3. Can this user and password be encrypted?
Thanks

HI,
Unfortunately there are some concerns with FTPS connectivity with XI.
As you know SFTP is not yet possible with XI, but somehow you could use FTPS.
Please confirm below things this may help you
1. Please make sure to Activate Secure Storage in the File System after Deploying the SAP Java Cryptographic Toolkit. Check below thread for the detail procedure
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cd/14c93ec2f7df6ae10000000a114084/content.htm
2. You can go for Third Part adapters such as Seeburger adapter AS2, OFTPS etc. for better connectivity with FTPS

3. Search the options of your client's software to find where its public and private keys are stored, these are 2 files present on the FTP server, then put the Public key of the XI server on the Client FTP Server and likewise for the Public Key of the FTP Server on the XI Server.
This enables the SSL handshake, i.e. Exchange of certificates.

    HI Madan,
    Can you please tell me which VAN provider you are meant to use? It is the same question which Prateek asked above 'which protocol' without this it is hard to help dude.
    I just checked and half of them don't want you to use this field 'host path;

  • SFTP with FTP Adapter - Missing class: com.maverick.ssh.SshTransport

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the SFTP with FTP Adapter for a project requirement.
    I have followed the steps as mentioned in the below link
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28994/adptr_file.htm#CACDFFFB
    Have configured the oc4j_ra.xml file, but after creating a sample BPEL process with the FTP adapter, got this error message in the log file.

    Could anyone please help in this?
    OR
    Provide steps on how to use SFTP with FTP Adapter.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
    As per client's requirement, we shouldn't be using java service for this functionality.
    And as you said, the oracle adapters are not taking anywhere, but guess have no other choice..

    The solution is either change the order of deployment or copy the FileAdapter.rar file in $ORACLE_HOME/lib location and restart the server as mentioned here.

  • How to use FTPS using FTP adapter

    I am trying to create one BPEL process using SOA 11g 11.1.1.4, which will put file on remote location using ftp adapter. I have created JNDI properly and using wallet.

    Hi,
    When you configure the Connection Factory for FTP Adapter in Admin Console, provide the following values for the attributes like the hostname, username, password, port and the path of remote location as where
    you want to write the file in remote Server i.e., ftpAbsolutePathBegin. Please fill this
    attribute with the path like /soa/ftp/file (example path). If you are writing to a remote FTP server you need to create a Connection factory for that as above.
    Please try this and let me know...
    Thanks,

  • Simple Questions about ESB and ftp adapter.

    We have the following Business Scenario:
    We have a partner company that provide us a ftp server with some files. We need to transfer these files from this server to other server, we don't need to read the file's content, we just need transfer the files.
    We are planning to use ESB in order to implement this solution but we have the following questions:
    Is it possible use the ftp adapter in order to transfer the files?
    Is there any example available about (Schema is Opaque feature) on a ftp adapter?
    Thanks

    Thank you very much for your reply.
    . I am trying to construct a FTP ( get) adapter with which I would like to do a simple FTP transfer from /var/out directory server xxx.oms.com (say) to a directory /home/in on the server bos1.oms.com (say) could not figure out this in jdeveloper 10.1.3.3 ( do i need upgraded jdeveloper?). The esb server and control exists on server bos1.oms.com. While constructing the adapter in jdeveloper it asks for physical directory? Is this the directory where it will the read the file from? How do I specify if the directory exists on the different server.
    is it something like xxx.oms.com:/var/out
    Please let me know.

    Please try this and let me know...
    Thanks,

  • FTP Adapter in SOA10.1.3.4.0 MLR4 doesn't work and no errors either

    Hi All:
    First my env summary:
    I have install SOA10.1.3.4.0 (with MLR4) on my laptop (Windows XP). Also I have install Filezilla Server on same laptop.
    In Fillezilla, I have configured a ftp location to "F:\MyFTPServer" directory. F drive is a local drive on my laptop. Also I have created a user called "soa" with password "soa" to be able to access this FTP server.
    Under F:\MyFTPServer directory, I have 3 sub folders:
    In -- to get file
    Out -- to drop the file
    Archive -- to archive the file after get and drop
    I have successfully accessed this ftp server from other computer using either MS-DOS FTP command or FTP software (e.g. WinSCP) as user "soa". I am able to drop file to "In" dirrectory and get file from "Out" directory.
    Above confirms my FTP server is ready to be used.
    Next, in SOA 10.1.3.4.0 AS console, I have create a new Connection Factory called "*eis/Ftp/myFtpServer*" (there is a seeded one called eis/Ftp/FtpAdapter and I didn't touch/configure it).
    the following is the settings for eis/Ftp/myFtpServer
    host: my laptop computer name
    port: 21
    ftpAbsolutePathBegin: /
    ftpPathSeparator: /
    listParserKey: WIN
    username: soa
    password: soa
    serverType: win
    for the rest settings, I leave as default.
    Then, I create a simple BPEL process with following components:
    One FTP Adapter called "MyFTP" with following parameters:
    <jca:operation
    FileType="ascii"
    PhysicalDirectory="In"
    ActivationSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.inbound.FTPActivationSpec"
    PhysicalArchiveDirectory="Archive"
    DeleteFile="true"
    IncludeFiles=".*\.csv"
    PollingFrequency="60"
    MinimumAge="60"
    FileModificationTime="FileSystem"
    ModificationTimeFormat="4,18,yyyyMMddHHmmSS"
    OpaqueSchema="false"
    </jca:operation>
    <service name="MyFTP">
    <port name="GetFile_pt" binding="tns:GetFile_binding">
    <jca:address location="*eis/Ftp/myFtpServer*" UIincludeWildcard="*.csv" />
    </port>
    </service>
    I create one Receive activity to get file from "MyFTP" FTP Adapter.
    Using above setting, my intention is to poll any file (*.csv) from F:\MyFTPServer\In directory and receive it into my receive activity.
    I deployed my project to SOA application server and stop/restart my SOA application once.
    Now, the real stuff begins:
    I dropped 2 simple, very small (size < 1KB) files called sample.csv and sample2.csv to F:\MyFTPServer\In diretory.
    In my domain.log file, I can see my BPEL process is starting polling every 1 minute without any error:
    <2010-09-16 15:29:25,015> <INFO> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <File Adapter::Inbound> Managed Connection Created
    <2010-09-16 15:29:25,015> <INFO> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <File Adapter::Inbound> Connection Created
    <2010-09-16 15:30:25,016> <INFO> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <File Adapter::Inbound> Managed Connection Created
    <2010-09-16 15:30:25,016> <INFO> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <File Adapter::Inbound> Connection Created
    Meanwhile, I am observing Filezilla server log and it clearly said every one minute (the timestamp match to bpel domain.log 100%), user "soa" login to this FTP server and list both files (sample.csv and sample2.csv) in "In" directory. Then it quits.
    However, I don't see any BPEL instance is created (In my BPEL project, I have cheched "Create Instance" when create my receive activity). And both files are still there in "In" folder. Per my configuration of "MyFTP" FTP adapter, the file should be deleted after it is polled successfully (*DeleteFile*="true")

    I am bit of confused. In my case, there is no any error anywhere; however, FTP Adapter in my bpel project doesn't poll file either. It does login to FTP server every one minute; did a list command; then quit.
    You may suggest I change the following 2 settings in my bpel project:
    FileModificationTime="FileSystem"
    ModificationTimeFormat="4,18,yyyyMMddHHmmSS"
    however, I think they are set correctly, because it match to MDTM command result in my Filezilla server log (see above and below). The modificaiton time format starts at position 4 and ends with position 18 with correct mask

  • PGP Encryption in FTP Adapter

    Hi All,
    We need to do FTP some files from remote server and files are to be pgp encrypted or decrypted.Can you please tell is there some way to use pgp encryption in FTP adapter. If yes, please provide some link for documentation.
    or shall we do ftp using some other program which support pgp encryption and then our bpel process should read file using file adapter.
    Please suggest better option out of both.
    Thanks.

    Hi Ram,
    Is the scenario same in Oracle SOA Suite11g latest release as well?
    If we have to go for OpenPGP tool manual intervention is requried to encrypt the file which may not be possible in our scenario.
    Thanks

  • Ftp Adapter Inbound operation not working

    Hi All,
    I'm running on SOA 11g on a Oracle Linux machine.
    FtpAdapter is configured and works well for outbound operations (my test composite can put a file on a ftp location).
    For inbound operation something is not working, my composite, a simple ftp adapter + bpel process, never start (no instances) .
    I'm able to get the file using an ftp client (tested from the soa server machine too).
    I just increased the server log and I can see the ftp communication but an exception is raised in socket operation after *FTP Adapter Project2 FTP Command: LIST, reply:[[*

  • FTP Adapter - Overwrite file

    Hi All,
    Quick help!
    I am using dynamic FTP adapter and want to overwrite the already existing file in the destination FTP server.
    I know there is an option to append,  is there any option to overwrite the file ,  may be by using 'Before Put' to delete the file. Any idea on the exact syntax and procedure ?
    thanks,
    varun
    Thanks, Varun

    Hi Varun,
    You cannot (IMHO) do this at the FTP Adapter level.
    IMHO you'd have to create a custom FTP Adapter with a specific config option to check for duplicates and what to do if you find it.

    Hello,
    we search for a solution to archive a file, which was sent by a receiver File/FTP Adapter (via FTP) to a ftp server.
    in an other directory on the FTP server. (Similar to the standard function of the sender File/FTP Adapter)
    Any Ideas ? A hint would be nice.
    Thanks.
