FTP Link

I want to simpify life for my clients, some of whom are not particularly computer savvy. Presently they download files through FilleZilla but often get very confused with FTP etc. How can I add a link on my main Flash website so that clients simply click the link (e.g. Customer Downloads). They then type in their Username & Password and can access their client area (a subfolder on my main website server). Basically I need FTP access through my website.
Could you assist with the code that i need to add to my Flash site please.

your customers can't click a link while in their browser and have their browser become an ftp client.
but you could build an ftp client using flash.  they could click a button in flash and while still in flash be presented with an ftp client interface.

  • Reinstalling acrobat 8 pro via ftp link from adobe??

    Hi, I need some help in reinstalling acrobat8, I did the trial on acrobat 9. I had to unistall 8. The people at adobe sent me a FTP link to reinstall 8 as I have misplaced my 8 disk. I can't get the download to start from  the link that was emailed to me, Acrobat_pro_8zip from ftp.cs.adobe.com Any suggestions. Thanks

    Hi, hope you can help me with this. I have down loaded the zip file and extracted the files and tried to reinstall. I have talked with eleventeen different tec's at adobe and the only postive feedback I get is Thank You for calling Adobe and can I do anything else to assist you, I've never been an angry person till now. One of the Adobe tec's had me download a cleaner and create a new user account on my computer. In the new user account I clicked on the C drive and unziped the Acrobat Pro 8. Still not working and receiving error message "A serious error has been detected and Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot continue. Please reinstall the application and try again." Adobe tells me that it should be working, but for a $39.00 charge they will get me up and running. I had no problems untill I uninstalled Acrobat 8 to try the free trial of Acrobat 9 and tried to reinstall Acrobate 8.

    Pictures and other external files are stored in a TREX-maintained directory for publication. The details fort his location are stored with the following transaction, and so made accessable for usage with FTP (from SAP) and HTTP (from the Webshop).
    You may have to customize these settings following (I don't have an english system available here - so the text might be slightly different):
    SAP reference IMG -> Customer Relationship Management -> Master Data -> Productcatalog -> Customizing publication targets for productcatalogs
    Enter a name. The host (Rechnername) is the IP-address of the system that provides the directory. Enter the http-port (and if secured, the user and password) and the directory-name that will provide the data. Test your entry from the browser. eg:
         http://sapsrv08:8080/IMS_DOCS_A5C/
    FTP-Access is done using a RFC-connection. For front-end access use the SAPFTP connection, for server access the SAPFTPA connection. The default FTP-port is 21, but if your system configured another one, supply that one. Supply the FTP-user and the password or leave both fields blank is none is needed. The directory ist he same as for the HTTP above.
    Again: test the entry from your browser:
         ftp://sapsrv08:21/IMS_DOCS_A5C/
    Save your entries and when the tests were successfull, the replication should work.

  • FTP links within Apple Mail

    It is simple to have an http url link in an email. The recipient clicks and it and their browser opens up to show the web page. However, I need to insert an FTP link (ftp://server.foo.com). When a recipient receives this they are receiving the link as "http://www.".com/ This of course is wrong. I tried resending using the "link" feature in Mail and typed in the full URL and sent it to myself to test. The link works but it launched Dreamweaver on my system. Question: How do I change ftp links to open up in the browser via Mail? There's no preferences in Mail (or Dreamweaver) that prevent this.

    I think you have two issues here.
    One is how to embed FTP links in your messages.
    The second is how to get 'ftp links to open up in the browser'
    The second isn't going to happen, which means that it might not be worth spending much time on the first.
    The default setting in Mac OS X is for FTP links to be handled by the Finder (the Finder connects to the FTP server and mounts the server on the desktop). There isn't any browser I'm aware of that will handle FTP links (e.g. display the directory listing in a browser window), and even if there were any (Firefox might do it, for example), the choice of application to handle FTP links is per-user so there is no way you can control or predict which application will be launched (most users would get the Finder and only those users who have specifically changed their FTP preferences would get a browser window).
    Therefore I think your better plan is to implement some other access to the content (e.g. a web server) and provide HTTP links in your messages.

  • FTP link in a html page isn't working in Safari 4.0.5 - any ideas?

    Hi all,
    One of my colleagues/clients has recently set up an ftp server so that customers can upload their files for printing using a username & password. I was asked to update the website I designed for them, by adding a small link at the bottom of the index page titled 'customer login', that directs customers to the server. Having done this I then found that the link doesn't work in Safari? It's fine in Firefox & IE.
    If however you hover over the link & right click with your mouse to select 'Open Link In A new Window' it works as it should. I've tried making the link load in a new window & as a pop up window using javascript, but neither works.
    I searched these discussions & found a similar post to this question from 2008, in which the response was 'Safari does not currently support links to ftp in this way'. Surely this issue has been resolved?
    Any advice appreciated - thanks.

    This is the link to the website I am referring to http://www.d-p-i.co.uk/

  • Premiere pro cs3 ftp link

    We purchased Premiere Pro CS3 couple years ago.  Had to reformat computer, can't reinstall because downloaded first time with trial and the 30 days is up.  Adobe keeps telling me they will make the Premiere Pro CS3 link to install the program and email the link to me.  This has been going on since the beginning of 2009.  Still no link.  upgraded to CS4 like Adobe suggested, having all kinds of problems.  Is it possible to use someone else's installation discs for CS3 but use my serial number to register it?

    I have Premiere Pro CS4 installed on my desktop and my laptop. My projects are generally short in length (30 seconds to 30 minutes; some larger but the project size doesn't seem to make any difference) and I am still in SD, not HD.  Although a little slow because I'm running 32 bits, initially it worked fine on both, until . . . .
    Desktop - all of a sudden I'm getting an error message "Licensing for this product has stopped working", followed by a couple similar error messages.  It will only stay open for 5 minutes tops before this message appears.  I've tried the solutions posted by Adobe and the Forums but nothing has worked.  I can't think of anything that changed on my computer that made this start happening.
    Laptop - Same error message as above. It never did import to Media Composer. Then I had issues with the Dell XPS laptop so our IT dept worked on it and fixed those issues by replacing motherboard, memory and video card (old video card was a NVIDIA Geo Force 8800 GTX, new card is a ATI Mobility Radeon X1800, any thoughts as to whether this replacement was a step up or down from the NVIDIA are welcome). They reinstalled the programs and now Premiere works okay but it still won't import to Media Composer.  Media Composer opens but the project never gets there and I get the red X or the caution triangle.
    Desktop - Premiere doesn't work but it does talk to Media Composer.  If I can get it to stay up long enough I can take the video I create from the laptop, open it on my desktop and then Import to Media Composer.
    The desktop is a Dell XPS 720; Windows XP Professional Version 2002 w/Service Pack 3; 32 bit; Intel Core 2 Quad; Q6600 @ 2.40GHz; 2.40 GHz; 2.75 GB of RAM.
    The laptop is a Dell XPS 720; Windows XP Professional Version 2002; 32 bit; Intel Core 2 CPU; T7200 @ 2.00GHz; 1.99 GHz; 3.25 GB of RAM.
    This is extremely frustrating.  Especially when I didn't have any problems with CS3.  Thanks for any help you can provide

  • How to connect to an FTP server via Midnight Commander _User_Menu_?

    Hi everyone.
    There's a nifty command that works in MC and makes it connect to an FTP server and display its directories just as if they were local ones: cd ftp://USER_LOGIN@SERVER_NAME. The only thing it asks for is a password, obviously. That's exactly what i'm looking for, theoretically.
    I know it's not really a standard Bash command, because if invoked outside MC, it returns an error (directory not found).
    I got kind of tired of typing it in (or copypasting it) every time, so i thought why not make it automatic? A Bash alias or a shell script wouldn't work, because as i said, it's not really a bash command.
    But what surprised me was that it didn't work as an entry in MC's menu, too.
    Tried to go another way, discovered kftp, apparently it's completely not what i am looking for.
    And i didn't even understand what F9 > Left > FTP Link in MC did. It isn't automatic as well anyway, i have to type everything in manually.
    Can anyone advise how to automate FTP connection in MC, or even in Bash (so that MC just treats it like a regular directory)?
    Big thanks in advance.

    This is not the correct way. You are using bash command line. For this to work it must be:
    # mc cd ftp://ftp.0fees.net
    kiruch wrote:When i invoke it as an entry of MC's menu (what i'm aiming for), i get /tmp/mc-cyril/mcusr6BWdYd: line 2: cd: ftp://ftp.0fees.net: No such file or directory - well, basically the same.
    I don't know what do you mean by "invoke an entry of MC's menu",
    Is this:
    Left->FTP link or Right->FTP link ?
    kiruch wrote:And finally, if i type cd ftp://ftp.0fees.net manually into MC's command prompt, i get a red alert message that says Cannot chdir to "ftp://ftp.0fees.net". Input/output error (5)
    In the first post you said you were able to login with "cd ftp://USER_LOGIN@SERVER_NAME", so MC is working well.
    This error you showed is the same which I have when I type "cd ftp.0fees.net" in the MC command prompt (maybe you typed wrong...)
    Instead, when I try "cd ftp://ftp.0fees.net" the popup error is:  "ftpfs: Login incorrect for user anonymous"
    This is what I expected, because I don't have the username and password and I'm trying a anonymous login.
    Are you sure your typing is right? Please, check your typing and try again.

  • How to make smb:// links open directly in Finder?

    Hello,
    When I click on an afp or ftp link (such as ftp://abcd.defg.com/xyz/ or afp://mac.local/xyz/), in my emails (Eudora), the request is transmitted to the Finder, and I end up with a window opened in the /xyz/ folder.
    This is the case because the email client is informed to do so with these links.
    However, when I click on an smb:// link (to reach a folder on a PC), then Safari is chosen be default, and can't do much more than opening a window with an error message, of course.
    When I try to change this, the email client asks for a program to do smb (Finder I suppose), but then, Finder is a strange software. It is there:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app
    But when I try to tell Eudora to take is as the app for smb:// links, its icon is grayed, looking like a document and not an app (when all other apps are recognised as such).
    How can I solve this?
    It would be VERY usefull for my co-workers to be able to go directly to an smb mount from their email message.
    Thank you,

    Rick,
    Sorry about the misgiving adresses, folders and access rights. My question is not about these three (they were just here to tell the story). You're perfectly right to say that in a local network, there's not need to complete the full IP or ".com" name of the PCs (even if it works all the same).
    When I said "of course" for the perms, it was just to mean, in the same way, that it's not this kind of problems here.
    My question is much more a human/mac graphic interface problem than a network problem. I want the people (as well as myself) to be able to go in a folder on the pc network with a simple click on an smb link in an email message (as they do now on an ftp or afp link).
    Thanks for the bother,

    What do you mean by "data processor as buffer"?
    You need to understand the difference between FTP and HTTP (web).  These are different protocols.
    Can you connect to the data logger over FTP, or only from a web browser?  The datasheet to which I linked earlier does not indicate that there is an FTP server on your logger, but that datasheet may not be complete.  Where are you getting a GBD file?  Do you have the format of that file?  If you do have an FTP server available, the Internet Toolkit includes FTP VIs which will make it easy to retrieve the file.
    I still do not understand why you are insistent on using the browser.  If the data logger supports real-time data gathering over ethernet - and it appears that it does - then that is probably easier than trying to parse a web page.  You have access to the logger over the web, so you should be able to access it using another protocol as well - for example whatever protocol is required for the real-time data gathering.

  • Basic webpage link checker

    Hello all,
    I am attempting to write a basic link checker to parse an html page and determine if any links are dead. I found a couple tutorials online, and am using one of them to test a webpage. However, i am running into multiple problems. The basic link checker verifies links by using the http HEAD request, it then checks the response code and determines from there if the link is dead.
    However, I have two major problems with this:
    1) How can I verify links when they are not using http, for instance a ftp link on a webpage?
    2) Sometimes when I parse link, i am losing the protocol from the link....
    ie. href="http://www.ibm.com/systems/x/=>href="//www.ibm.com/systems/x/"
                 Reader rd = getReader(rootURI);
                  // Parse the HTML.
                  kit.read(rd, doc, 0);
                  // Iterate through the elements
                  // of the HTML document.
                  ElementIterator it = new ElementIterator(doc);
                  javax.swing.text.Element elem;
                  System.out.println("Starting Validation from: " + rootURI);
                  while ((elem = it.next()) != null) {
                    SimpleAttributeSet s = (SimpleAttributeSet)elem.getAttributes().getAttribute(HTML.Tag.A);
                    if (s != null) {
                      System.out.println("attributeSet: " + s);
                      String link = (String)s.getAttribute(HTML.Attribute.HREF);
                      System.out.println("Validating: " + link);
                      validateHref(link);
                    }else{
                      //System.out.println("Attribute set is empty");
                      //flag this to user
                  }This is the block of code i am using to extract the link from the html source. My console output looks like this:
    [stdout]
    attributeSet: href=//www.ibm.com/systems/x/ class=left-nav-overview
    Validating: //www.ibm.com/systems/x/
    [stdout]
    However, looking at the html source, the link should be http protocol....ie. http://www.ibm.com/systems/x , since i later check to make sure that http protocal urls start with "http:", these links that do not have http: at the beginning are being ignored...
    Can someone please help and explain to me how I can fix this? Also, i am eventually planning to turn this into more of a web spider, and traverse levels of pages checking and validating the links.
    Thank you,
    Nick

    Hi Johnathon
    From the information provided by you it seems you have Adobe Reader installed on your machine.
    The ftp link you have shared is of Acrobat patch. The size of the patch is indeed 124KB only and we have verified that the patch downloads and installs fine from the above mentioned location.
    The reason the patch is failing at your end is because you are trying to apply Acrobat patch over Reader installation. Please download and install the Reader patch from here ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.08/misc/
    Please note: This update requires that Adobe Reader 11.0.7 is installed on your system.To determine which version you have currently installed, choose Help > About Adobe Reader.
