Ftp not working on Prime NCS

OK, I have a customer whom we are migrating from WCS to Prime Infrastructure 1.3. As I understand it, I need NCS in the middle to migrate from WCS >> NCS >> PI1.3.
I have Prime NCS running, I followed instructions:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/wireless/ncs/1.1/release/notes/NCS_RN1.1.1.html#wp298425
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/ncs/1.1/configuration/guide/tasks.html#wp1215225
When I try and connect to the NCS server via ftp using Filezilla or WS-FTP with username/ftp-user & password/ftp-user I get the following:

What might i be doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help.

are you able to ssh or console into the NCS appliance?
if so, please run an ncs status command to see if all ncs processes are running:::
also, can you try to launch an MS-DOS or CMD prompt and try to
ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
enter ftp-user for the username
enter whatever password you think it is.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 OVA - URL/FTP not working

The ESXi install of the theNCS  OVA was successful. NCS seems to load and activate interfaces. The console session is working. Using compliant browsers; https://<ip address> does not work. When I stop "ncs" or halt the vm the web page responds shortly but then the connection is lost.  I used "show ports" and tried https://<ip address>/8082 and get a login from the Cisco Prime Infrastructure Health Monitor URL. There is a prompt for the authorization key. How can I confirm the installation is complte and all services are up and running
    Thanks
    Terry

After digging almost 1 month, I found the answer.
When you do provision from ESXi with ova file, you have to create "Thick Provision" otherwise, you wiil have same problem such as "some services are not up"
In my case, I am running ESXi on the top of VM WorkStation since I don't have any ESXi server. When I added 250GB into the WorkStation and did provision with "Thick" it works !!!
Since my testing envrionment is little complicated (ESXi with VM WorkStation), I added first 250GB HDD into ESXi, and tried. It didn't work. So I added 250GB into VM WorkStation and did provision through Workstation, it worked (If you don't understand this statements, do not worry. If you have ESXi server, you don't need to worry about)
As far as cisco ova is concerned, when I talked to one of my my friend who was working for new ACS (Virtual Appliance) he had same issue. He also solved with "Thick Provision"
FYI, even if when I installed with "Thin Provision", PI 1.2 used only 10GB out of 200GB, so I did not think that I should use "Think Provision". But definitely not.

  • Ftp not working

    Hi there...thanks for reading
Dreamweaver CS5.5 ftp error occurred, cant connect to server, however the same settings work in other ftp client, Transmit.
I have screen grabbed the setting in DW and sent to the Webmaster and he verified that the settings are correct.
    What could be wrong.
The server has have recently been changed to a Debian server.
Thanks so much for any thots of this.

finally figured it out...it needed DW to be reset....see link below.
Had to do 2 things, not just prefferences, as that did not work.
I followed this for a Mac. Below are the same link...i
    Restore preferences | Dreamweaver CS4, CS5, CS5.5, CS6
    http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver-cs4-cs5.html#main_Tr y_to_re_create_the_problem
I did copy the snippets file into the new support folder, as that is critical for me. Be careful about loosing things like that.'
Just doing the preference file itself would NOT have done it, I tested that too...had to be in the app support / dreamweaver folder
Thank all of you for your attention and help.
    THIS ANSWERED MY QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont see anyway to mark this as the correct answer....never can find that button

  • FTP not working. HELP

I just upgraded to Lion. I cannot for the life of me get FileZilla or any other FTP program to connect to my webserver. I tried the launch ftp.plist technique. It does not work for me. Help.

    I fixed the problem.
I re installed all of Lion.
I am not sure what happened. I had a straightforward download from the App store and install (over Snow Leopard). But quite honestly, OS X lion was not exactly perfect, it was good but had some slight hiccups. The FTP issue wouldn't even connect. I figured something really screwed up on the inside and I redownloaded the whole os x using the "hold option" technique. Inside the file, you will find the dmg. Using the disk utility, burn the dmg. Of course, everything must be backed up. Restarted and booted from the disk while holding C. Formatted the harddrive witht he disk utility. and ....... a MUCH MUCH better OS X lion. The FTP also worked flawless.
It is much faster. Also, I enabled TRIM via terminal. You can't the snowleopard Trim Enabler I heard it could cause some trouble.
I would recommend that those who want lion should install a fresh copy. It's much faster, snappier, STABLE, and consistent. All my software issues are gone. Parallels 12090 works great. I didn't have to get 12094.
Anyways, in summary, if anyone has any ftp client issues, reinstall Lion because the install screwed up.

  • Put File of a large file through FTP not working correctly

I put a lot of large files to my web server through Dreamweaver, and when I get files larger than about 45 meg, the file is put fine to the server.  But then Dreamweaver waits for a server responce to make sure it got the file.  and after about 30 seconds or so, it says server timed out, and it starts over with the FTP, and the first thing it does on the start over is to delete the file.
The only wai I have been able to put my large files to the server, is to sit and wait for it to finish, and then cancel the check for if the file is there or not.
I have my FVT server timeout set to 300 seconds, but that does not help eihter.  it still times out after about 30 seconds.
Is there a fix for this so I don't have to sit and watch my files being transfered to the server?

I changed it to passive PTF, but that did not help, sending a 90 Meg file did the same thing.  What the problem is, is that the Dreamweaver FTP wants to verify that the file got there. and when you send that large of a file, the server wants to make sure it is a clean file, so it takes a while to put it to the correct location.  And while the server is doing this, Dreamweaver says that there is no responce from the server, and causes a reconnect.  and on the reconnect it starts over, and the first thing it does is to make sure the file is deleted.  What it should do it verify that the file is there and the same date as the one you sent up there.  That would eliminate this problem.  I was hoping there was a setting in Dreamweaver that I could tell the FTP not to verify the send.
Are there any Dreamweaver developers that visit this forum. that could tell me how to bypas the verify on put.  It seams silly to have a tool that costs this much that can not do a task that a free pice of software can do.

  • FTP not working through SAP R/3 data transport

    Hi,
    Environment:
    Software: BO Data Services 3.2
    DI server OS: AIX
Source data from: SAP (has BODI 11.5.2 programs)
After recently installing BO Data services 3.2 on the AIX box, I am able to run a dataflow with an R/3 component. This component, reads a Z table from SAP and creates a .dat file on SAP in a particular path. The R/3 transport process should copy the file over from SAP to AIX server but it is failing to do. The error is:
    (12.2) 08-12-10 14:12:52 (E) (360872:0001) FIL-052008: |Data flow DF_ZSETUP_STG
FTP could not transfer file <../qsawork/ZSetup.dat> from host <161.145.174.13>: <>. Please ensure that the FTP relative path for the SAP server working directory is set correctly such that the data file is accessible to the FTP program. Also, ensure that the target path, where the transferred file is written to, is correct.
I am able to manually follow the ftp process and able to:
    1. Login from AIX server to SAP for ftp
    2. change directory on SAP to the relative path
    3. Get file from SAP to unix in the target folder as set in the configuration setting
While running the job, the file gets created on SAP but fails to FTP. Please advise what we could be missing?
    Best regards,
    Manjunath Balur

    Hi,
I was able to resolve this myself by setting following parameters in DSConfig.txt file on the $LINK_DIR/bin path.
    USE_UNIX_FTP_COMMAND=TRUE
    USE_UNIX_PASSIVE_FTP=FALSE
    Hope this is helpful.

  • FTP not working with Lion

Since installing Lion on my Macbook Pro ftp to and from my RiscPC has stopped working. With the latest version of Cyberduck on the Mac I can see directories on the RPC but I can't write to them. In the other direction I can't get a connection at all. It all worked fine under Snow Leopard so it's the OS that's kyboshed it, not third party applications.

    boston6006 wrote:
Are you saying that FTP sites like filesanywhere are not reputable?
I am saying that any FTP sites are absolutely not reputable. Filesanywhere doesn't appear to offer FTP. They offer secure FTP, which is perfectly fine.
It's obvious that it's the receiving end that has the problem reading LION generated files. How can you explain why the problem only occurs with LION and not Leopard? This is a language problem.
No, it is your problem. There is noting about Lion that prevents any type of FTP. If you have installed some third party software that doesn't work with Lion, then don't use that software with Lion. Use something else. It isn't Apple's responsibility to fix bugs in other people's software. There are many of us who have no trouble sending files to any online service.
This thread is almost a year old. I have no idea what your issue is. I suggest updating Cyberduck. If that doesn't work, then start a new thread for your problem.

  • FTP not working behind firewall

I've currently got a Cisco 891 running with a FTP server behind it. All FTP clients running inside the network can use the FTP by going directly to the internal IP of 192.168.12.6. However all outside clients are getting a connection to the server but then dropping. I've got NAT configured to go from external IP on port 990 to internal IP address 192.168.12.6 on port 990. The FTP is listening on port 990. The clients can only run in passive mode.
Below is the version information and current running config.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.... Ignore the NAT going to internal IP 192.168.12.50, it's for another operation.

  • CSM - service ftp not working in dispatch mode

I'm trying to convert my CSM load-balancing environment from directed to dispatch mode. I've had success with normal telnet traffic but run into problems with FTP.
My real servers are layer-2 adjacent to the switch.
    My config looks like this:
    ip slb vlan 19 client
    ip address 176.11.16.11 255.255.240.0
    ip slb vlan 9 server
    ip address 176.11.48.11 255.255.240.0
    serverfarm FTP
    no nat server
    no nat client
    real 176.11.48.104
    real 176.11.48.110
    vserver FTP
virtual 176.11.16.12 tcp ftp service ftp
    no unidirectional
    serverfarm FTP
I've put a sniffer on the server side vlan and I can see this pattern:
    1) Client SYN pkt goes through CSM, gets
    routed to server.
    2) Server responds with SYN/ACK, but this packet goes directly back to the client (not through the CSM, because I'm not NATing)
    3) Client responds with the final ACK, which goes to the CSM, but the CSM eats the packet. When I turn on debug module csm 11 ftp, I see that each time the final ACK is received by the CSM, it outputs these lines:
    May 4 20:48:06.758 UTC: CSM11: called slowpath_ftp_rx
May 4 20:48:06.758 UTC: CSM11: no session for ftp rx
    the CSM conn display shows:
    prot vlan source destination state
    In TCP 19 176.11.16.103:1131 176.11.16.12:21 ESTAB
Why doesn't the ACK get processed and sent to the correct server by the CSM?
One additional note: I also tried this same scenario but without specifying 'service ftp' on the virtual server defintion. In that case, the control connection comes up fine but any attempt to bring up a data connection fails (times out). But then again, that's the whole point of 'service ftp', right?

the problem is your point #2.
If you do service ftp, the CSM expects to terminate the connection from the client and open a new one with the server.
This is how the csm can listen to all the info passed between client and server.
Moreover, the csm will need to see the server response to identify which port the server will be listening on for data connection.
So, definitely not a good idea to do direct server return with this type of config.
You should remove the 'service ftp' command and have anothe vserver to catch all data traffic. You could use a vserver with no tcp port or port 20 if your servers are configured to only use port 20.
You can then use sticky-srcip to make sure the control channel and data channel are sent to the same server.
    Gilles.

  • Ftp not working correctly

For some reason my site is trying to completely reload every time I do an FTP upload.  Since my site has about 1,000 static images that are used for research only the FTP process can take up to two hours when it should take only minutes.  It is as if the Muse does not compare images to see if they have changed and need uploading.

    1) When there's an update of Muse the code generation changes (for new features, bug fixes, workarounds for bugs in browser updates, performance improvements, etc.). The files of a website are interrelated, therefore most of the files will be regenerated and re-uploaded, since most will have been changed due to the code generation changes.
    2) For the 2014.3 update the image compression was improved (esp. for PNG images). Therefore the images of your site are likely to have changed (to now be smaller files and thus faster page load times for site visitors) as a result of the update. Thus they're all being uploaded.
Once you've uploaded with a specific version of Muse and saved your .muse file following that upload, subsequent uploads should only be for the set of files impacted by whatever changes have been made since the previous upload.

  • Ftp not working.dreamweaver 4

i have been trying to update a couple of pages on a site i built with v4. i built the site several years ago and only need to change the odd detail now and again. In september 2013 i updated some text on a page as usual, just editing the text, saving the page and then clicking the put arrow. i have been trying to do a similar thing today with no sucess. i get the erro rmessage cannot connect remote server . i havent changed any settings and know that the remote server is fine as i have now managed to update the page using filezilla and all the settings from dw. Any ideas why it wont work ? my webhosting company just advised using filezilla, which worked fine, but i would like to get to the bottom of this.

    Hi mike123,
    Welcome to Adobe forums!
There have been many performance improvements made to Dreamweaver in the latest update. You may want to download the trial version and experience it for yourself.

  • FTP not working properly in WFP sample

    Hi,
I downloaded the WFP traffic inspection sample and made some changes to handle only TCP traffic by adding these filter conditions
    filterConditions[conditionIndex].fieldKey = FWPM_CONDITION_IP_PROTOCOL;
    filterConditions[conditionIndex].conditionValue.type = FWP_UINT8;
    filterConditions[conditionIndex].conditionValue.uint8 = IPPROTO_TCP;
    filterConditions[conditionIndex].matchType = FWP_MATCH_EQUAL;
When i try to run put command in ftp i am getting this error
    C:\Users\Administrator>ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    Connected to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
    220 (vsFTPd 2.0.5)

200 PORT command successful. Consider using PASV.
    150 Ok to send data.
Connection closed by remote host. When i remove the Transport layer, ftp runs normally, hence my question is, do we have to do anything specific in case of FTP in transport layer? I came across a link in msdn which describes TCP packet flow, it is mentioned that for Data transmitted over a TCP connection, transport layer as well FWPM_LAYER_STREAM_V4 come into play.
Kindly apprise me what is amiss here.

  • FTP not working CS5

I recently made a few minor changes to some pages in a client's site in DW8. When I went to synch with the remote server I got an FTP error message. I recently upgraded to CS5 so I exported that site and imported it into CS5. I received the same error message. I know the settings are right because I was able to successfully log into the remote server using Filezilla. Does anyone have any insight into why this is happening? Any help would be great.
    thanks in advance,
    John

    Here's the message:
An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. Your login or password is incorrect. Please check your connection information.

  • Web Interface of Cisco Prime Infrastructure Not Working

    Hi All,
I installed the trial version of Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 on ESXi server.
It installed propersly and and i am able to ping it and also ssh into it.
But when I try to access it via web interface, it does not work.
I am provided with a login screen but after putting my credentials the page goes blank.
There also an error on the page "Error occured while fetching Meatdata for Slider Panel" and there is a advertisemnt to download Google chrome Framework.
When i do "NCS status" in CLI i see that every service is running.
Does anyone know how to solve this.
All your help is highly appreciated.

Google Chrome Frame isnt supported anymore, using Google Chrome doesnt work with all features and forget about Firefox. Up until this morning I had it working on IE11 but some update caused me to have this problem again. Cisco needs to get this fixed. I use several applications from Cisco and they still can't figure out a way to have them all work on a single browser.
