FTP /path not working for Safari

I can't get Safari (native to OSX) to retrieve an FTP url from a
Netware 6.5
It will connect and display files for the url ftp://FS1 but it will
not connect to the url ftp:/FS1/Software/MAC/
Firefox on the same OSX box works fine with the added path AND
Safari will work to a Windows ftp server with the added path in the
url
I had to set PSEUDO_SERVER_FLAG=3 to get Safari to
display files to the NW65 ftp server. (with nwftpd's Default setting
it would connect but not display)
Now I want to lessen the burden for the user of having to navigate
through folders
Also,
Why does Safari hands off an ftp connection to FINDER whereas
Mozilla keeps the FTP connection within its browser window
Any help would be appreciated

GRC CUP 5.3 SP16, detour path not working for SOD violations

Hi,
Something bazaar is going on in our requests processing and not sure if that's the way SAP has set it up.
We configured a detour path for requests with SOD violations to go to the additional stage of 'SOX Approver' but the first stage (manager) does the risk analysis and Mitigation assignment and then it goes to Role owner approver that approves the roles access. Once the role owner approves the roles , if the request had SOD violations, even if the mitigation was selected and approved by the manager stage, it needs to go to the SOX approver stage to approve the mitigation assignment before the request can be auto provisioned for any requests that had sod violations.
But it seems to skip the sox approver detour path stage after the role owner approval and go directly to auto provisioing. I thought that any requests that had sod violations inspite of having mitigation assignment in a previous stage can be detoured to the next path for SOX approval and then auto provisioned. Since SAP doesn't give different approval option to approve mitigation vs. approve roles, wherever you make the risk analysis mandatory, that's where the mitigation controls have to be assigned. But we want the option to detour the path to SOX approver to approve those mitigation controls b4 auto provisioning the request.
Any idea of how to fix this?
Is the detour only going to work if the mitigation wasn't assigned? But then how can you get approval for the mitigation on a different stage if the same person has to assign and approve that?
Will appreciate any feedback in this.

I was actually able to resolve the issue by adding the role approver stage first to the sox approver detour path.. this way..if the manager has roles with sod violations and updates mitigations for it, it goes to the role approver via detour path as well first and then to the sox approver stage b4 auto provisioining. So, that solved our problem. And if the request doesn't have SOD violations then it just goes to the next stage without detour which also has the role approver as the last stage.
Since I couldn't get the sox approver stage to show up after the role approver as originally anticipated since the request already had mitigation assigned at the manager level, we did the above scenario to fix the issue.
Requestor>Manager->Role Approver-->auto provisioning (without SOD violations)
Requestor>Manager> Detour (Role Approver>SOX Approver)->Auto Provisioning (with SOD violations)

SAP_MANG Evaluation Path not working for MSS after ECC6 Upgrade

We are upgrading to ECC6 and still using an older version of the java/HTMLB MSS Business Package. We are seeing strange results in the vacancy request overview iview (team viewer like component) which is using a view driven by SAP_MANG Evaluation Path.

...so the user us shown as an org. Right off I suspected the upgrade to MSS 60.1.22 (the newest version of the old Business Package) so I installed the older versions of the components and the actually still worked but also showed this condition. So I have ruled out the java side as a source of the problem.
Looking at HRP1001 I see the following relationships among suspect objects.
Object P 1234567 to Object S 9876543 via B008
Object S 1234567 to Object O 9876543 via A012
no relationships US to P via A208
Given the Eval Path above, does anyone have any idea why this would display this way or have a suggested approach to solve.

not all relationships represent physical data records in the database. some are derived and without looking at the system, I believe the US 208 to P is a derived relationship.
Are you sure all the users you are testing with have a proper sy-uname setup for all respective pernrs in PA0105?

Software update NOT WORKING FOR SAFARI

Why Apple doesn't solve this issue, very irritating to go always to Apple website and download from there, any idea to repair this ?

As far as I can see Apple doesn't have to fix anything with Software Update because it is working perfectly for myself and the users I help to support.
So maybe if you can give us more details; such as what error messages are you getting, what have you done so far to solve this problem.

I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.

You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

Outlook autodiscover is not working for some users in coexistence

We are doing exchnage 2013/2010 coexistence
Most everything is ok BUT outlook autodiscover is not working for some exchange 2010 users now that 2013 is in the front!!!. We end up creating the profiles manually. It has affected some but not all the users.
I followed the instructions here but it didn't help.

If it is affecting only few handful of users i could suspect a mailbox corruption and would recommend to move mailbox and see the results.

Software Update Point Switching is not working for some Clients

Hi there,
I found nothing similar here and I hope this is the right section.
I´m running ConfigMgr 2012 R2 where one of the Site Systems from one of the Primaries is located in an untrusted Forest in a perimeter Network. The Site System there has the MP, SUP and DB Roles. In general it works great. The Systems in that untrusted Forest
get the SCCM Agent pushed, see and can install published Software packages and receive Windows Updates. But there are a few systems where everything works, except Windows Updates.
So I had a deeper look at what is happening and found out that the SUP switching is not working for them. They always try to contact the SUP from the Primary, which they cannot reach (this is intended).

the Windows Update Agent tries to connect to a SUP every 30 minutes and after 4 failed attempts he will try to connect to the next one until he finds one which works.
As I said before, this seems to work for most systems in the untrusted forest, but some do not make any intentions to switch the SUP.
So my next step was to find out from where the Update Agent can get the information of the available SUPs. I think they either don´t receive the information that other SUPs exist, or if the Information is there, they don´t realize that there´s an error and
make no attempt to switch.
I used the System Center Support Center to gather all Information from some of the systems with that problems (Log Files, WMI information, registry information, policies etc.) but I cannot find where SCCM or the Update Agent store the information which SUPs
are available in my environment.
I´m sure the problem is on the Systems which fail to connect to the right SUP and not in the SCCM infrastructure itself, because for most of the systems everything is working just perfect. Unfortunately in the Blog Post above there´s also no information
where this information is stored and how it is obtained by the clients. In the comments there´s even one post which describes the same problem I have here, but there was no answer. I hope someone can point me into the right direction, because I´m stuck currently.
Things I tried additionally to all the log file / WMI / registry sniffing:
Removing the Software Distribution Folder and restarting the Windows Update Agent
Removing the WindowsUpdate Registry folder in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Windows section in the Registry and restarting the Windows Update Agent.
Tried to reset the WUAgent with wuauclt /Resetauthorization additionally to the steps above.
I also tried to manually set the WUServer and WUStatusServer Keys in the registry to the new Server, but as soon as the next Update Scan cycle runs, the value is set back to the URL of the Primary Sites SUP
Is someone having additional ideas? It seems to me older systems are more affected (which were configured for a standard WSUS before SCCM 2012 was deployed) than newer ones which were installed when SCCM was in place already. But I don´t know what else to
"reset" on those machines without reinstalling them.

Thank you very much for your response. I must have missed that one by looking through numerous Logfiles. In this, there´s indeed a list of all available SUPs. So according to the LocationServices.log the machine should have a choice.
The WMI Key however, contains just one entry and this is the URL of the Primaries SUP which is not reachable in the untrusted forest. Is it OK that the WMI entry includes only one entry? If yes, what process is putting the results from the LocationServices
into WMI? It seems like the Windows Update Agent is feeded from the WMI Key then. If this is the case my problems seems to be the "communication path" between these two components.
Is this the job from the SCCM Agent, the Windows Update Agent or maybe some third component I´m not aware of? I wonder how I can fix this.

Flash not working in Safari (and Chrome and Firefox) - possible solution

Yesterday my Mac crashed (actually when I was away from it) and when it rebooted, Adobe Flash would freeze any web browser it ran in (Safari, Firefox and Chrome - which surprised me as I thought it used a different version of Flash). Great with so many live-blogs happening in the world of news right now.
I tried all the usual suspects:
* Deleted browser caches;
* Uninstalled Flash (Adobe have an uninstaller available) and reinstalled the same version;
* Uninstalled Flash and reinstalled the newest version;
* Made sure I had no duplicate fonts (I did) as I'd experienced problems with this with an iPhoto upgrade;
* Checked recent upgrades (iWeb and Camera updates) to see what they installed (nothing dangerous);
* Fixed permissions (they needed it);
* Tried running Safari under 32-bit (didn't think that would work as I hadn't updated Flash itself);
* Signed in as another user.
None worked.
As a last resort, I downloaded the latest version of the Onyx utility (freeware) and ran the Maintenance scripts, then, under Cleaning, deleted System cache, User cache, Internet stuff (left the cookies), and Font caches (you'll need to Close all the dialog boxes then Restart at the end). Expect a long reboot.
That worked.
It may not work for everyone but may for someone.

I was having the same issue. I logged into another account, a plain no add-ons account and found that I could view flash content with Safari OK. That mean that there was some preference file in my primary account that was the culprit.
Here's how to cull out the bad apple (pun intended):
Trouble Shooting Preferences
Go to HD/Users/Your_name/Library. Move the Preferences folder (in its entirety) to the Desktop and make a second copy of it so you have Copy A and B. Now try the the process again and determine if problem is fixed.
If the problem IS fixed, then go to the new Prefs folder that the OS will have created and open it up.
Open Copy B on the Desktop and select all of the items inside. Drag them into the open new library folder. When the Copy window comes up check the Apply to All check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here. That will keep the new files created and bring back all of the others.
If the problem is NOT fixed, trash the new Prefs folder and move the intact Copy A folder back to the Library folder .
This cleared it up. I ended up with 16 items that were not put back in the preference folder.

Flash not working in Safari 5

Flash has been buggy for me in Safari 5, ever since I updated the Flash player last week to "10.1 r53". Either Flash files don't play at all, or just the audio plays without video.
Per the instructions on these boards, I have:
1. reset Safari
2. uninstalled flash player
3. installed the flash player
4. repaired permissions
5. restarted
The issue is still there. Firefox plays Flash files, YouTube, etc. just fine. Safari does not.
I'm running SL 10.6.4, latest Software Updates.
Any suggestions?

I created a new account. Flash works in the new account. That's cool, but I really don't want to re-locate all my prefs, etc., just for a buggy plugin.
So, I next...
1. grabbed the Safari plist from the new account
2. logged out of the new account
3. logged into the old account (where Flash does not work)
4. moved the old account's com.apple.safari plist file out of the Preferences folder
5. moved the clean Safari plist file (from the new account) into the Preferences folder
6. reset and restarted Safari
7. Flash worked...for about two minutes. I tested on YouTube, Vimeo and Google Analytics. Back to Flash not working in Safari.
I then tried repeating the earlier steps.
1. reset Safari
2. uninstall flash player
3. install flash player
4. repaired permissions
5. restarted
Still doesn't work.
Just one other thing to note: whenever I pull up a web page with Flash, I get a "file not found" error in Safari's activity monitor (link is below)...could this be an error with Adobe's website rather than a Safari-permission thing?

Work fine for me - they are just normal Flash videos.
Make sure your Flash Player is up to date.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

Image Processor not working for me. Help!

In a nearby thread I've reached a stumbling block. Image Processor in CS4's PS is not working for me. I have a folder of psd's generated on the fly via File > Export > Data Sets as File... and now I'm trying to process those psd's to generate a JPEG of each. The only strange characteristic of the auto-generated PSD files is that there is no image preview available within the Finder. When a psd is selected the preview pane reads:
"This layered Photoshop file was not saved with a composite image"
I've verified in my Preferences > File Handling that image previews are always saved. (But I've been using PS for a long time and previews are always available with all my manually saved work.)
So here's what happens when I invoke File > Scripts > Image Processor...
In section 1 of the menu I select the source folder where the psd files reside
In section 2, I select 'Save in same location'
In section 3, I select 'Save as JPEG'
In section 4, I change nothing. No special actions. Include ICC profile is checked.
When I select run I get an error message: "Sorry, I could not process the following files:"
And then it lists what appears to be 3 lines per psd file in the source directory:
The path to the source dir
The name of the source dir
The [source_dir]/[filename.psd]
What am I doing wrong?

The part I don't understand is the "export" Part. File > Export > Data Sets as File.. on my machine is grayed out so I don't know how this feature is used. Is Export > Data Sets as File... used with CSV data sets and Photoshop variables?
Check your Photoshop preferences and make sure you have set in the file handling tab "Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility:" to Always using the pull down menu. If that is not your current setting try setting that to see if the exported PSD files contain composite previews. When I use save as PSD on my system I alway see Photoshop save through up a popup window stating generating composite preview image.

Cross-frame scripting is not working in Safari 3.0.4. Minimal example code.

I've found that cross-frame scripting is not working in Safari 3.0.4, as it worked
ok on Safari 3.0.1, and in other browsers I tried: Firefox, Mozilla, IE.
document.domain property is set to "ds2ps.net", correctly to the best of my knowledge
in the frameset and in both frames. Both frames and frameset are loaded
from subdomains of the same domain "ds2ps.net"
Please have a look at this mimimal example:

Press buttons to get alert with value of a variable defined in the frameset
and in the first frame.
This gives "undefined" in Safari 3.0.4, and give following message in Safari
JavaScript console:
Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://frameset.ds2ps.net/frames-test/frameset.html from frame with URL http://frame2.ds2ps.net/frames-test/frame2.html. Domains, protocols and ports must match.
Works ok in all other browsers and in earlier versions of Safari.
Apperently, I'm doing something incorrectly.
I would appreciate if Apple Safari developers have a look at this problem and suggest solution.
My company is developing web application which depends on cross-frame scripting,
and we would like to continue supporting Safari browser.
