FTP problem in Linksys x3500

Hi,
I have problems with FTP server in my Linksys x3500.
After activation of FTP server, I click in "Specifi folder" button, I select the folder, the groups, than Save but the folder and the FTP Server does not add the folder.
Please, help me.
I have this firmware installed:
Firmware 1.0.01 (build 002)
Release Date: October 28, 2013
Gabriele

Hmmm. The same scenario has happened to me too. Below were the steps I tried:
Step 1: Access the web-based setup page using a computer that's directly connected to the router.
Step 2: Click the Storage tab, then click the FTP Server sub-tab and enter your preferred name on the FTP Server Name field.
Step 3: Select Enabled to use the gateway as an FTP server and enter the port number to use in the FTP Port field. The default port number is 21.
Step 4: Click Specify Folder to create an FTP folder. The FTP Folder screen will then appear. Specify Folder to create an FTP folder and enter a name for the FTP folder in the Display Name field.
Step 5: Select to specify a folder for FTP client access. Then click the Enter into Folder to display the sub-folders.
Step 6: Click Select to specify a folder for FTP client access. Then click the Enter into Folder to display the sub-folders.
NOTE: To create a new folder, enter your preferred name in the New Folder field then click Create.
Step 7: Set a group or user access by selecting from the Available Groups columns, then clicking the transfer >> button.
Step 8: Don't forget to click the Save Settings button to change the settings.

  • NAS200 Ftp problem

    Hi,
I have a little problem with my NAS200. When I try to connect to ftp, I got an error like this:
200 transfer type changed to ascii
    227 entering passive mode
    Whats wrong ?

Hi gieras. Has this worked before? Have you tried to access it using another computer? Possble reason why you can't access it is Windows firewall settings on your computer. I am not really familiar with the error codes that you mentioned but I've read another post here that may help: https://community.linksys.com/t5/Network-Storage/NAS200-FTP-Problem/td-p/120996

  • Linksys X3500 - Port Forwarding (limited)

    Hi everybody!
We have purchased 3 pieces of Linksys X3500.
One for us and a couple for an installer (our customer) who wants to make a wireless home network (for a couple of end users).
I have to tell you that we are a distributor for security systems (Tvcc and so on) in our area (north of Milan) and we have a lot of NVR and DVR on our network we need to put on-line as demos.
Today i start to configure the Modem/Router and i find no prob since i tried to add "some" port forwarding...
We have about 60 single ports to configure and the page of device is limited to not more than 15 (customized) slots!!
I was hoping the device was able to allow me to add more slots but it seams to be not possible!
    How can i do?
(ps: i don't want to add an external firewall to do it!)

I wasn't talking about the algorithm of wireless but the one used for manage the priority of the traffic...(when devices are already connected)
and if there's an external device (hardware) that can do a better job (like a "Lan Controller" but cheapest).

  • FTP Problems with Dreamweaver 8

The webmaster for the library I work for recently had
difficulty with her computer. She did a system restore from her
discs, and, after that, reinstalled Dreamweaver 8. She sent me an
email to let me know she needed my assistance setting her DW FTP
    back up.
While her computer was down I decided to reorganize the
website files. There were dozens of old files and most of the
images and html were scattered throught the main part of the file
tree. She really liked the changes, but, after connecting her to
the site and downloading all the files, a problem arose.
Once she got her laptop back home every time she'd connect to
the FTP she got a group of folders named "Windows, Linux,
Speedtest" and a few others. I contacted our webhost and they told
me this meant she was logging in anonymously. We have our login
name and password in correctly, though, so this shouldn't happen.
No one at our ISP could help me do to them not being familiar with
    Dreamweaver.
After playing around with the machine a bit I found that if I
deleted the site from the FTP and re-did it using the same folders
then the first connection was succesful. But, after disconnecting,
    the same problem happens again.
I found this article and wondered if it could be causing our
    problem.
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=3491671c
The only thing that makes me think it might not be is the
fact that our login and password stays in the box, but, for some
reason, the FTP is connecting anonymously. Could her doing a
recovery have led to this? Maybe there's an update she needs to
apply that she didn't get after doing the recovery?

It's hard to know what kind of things happened with your
    moving stuff around
    outside of DW.
Suffice it to say that most FTP problems are router/firewall
    related. Does
    this help at all?

  • Noisy sound coming from Linksys X3500 AC adapter

I just purchased Linksys X3500 modem and I noticed that when I connect it to any power outlet in my home that its AC adapter produces noisy sound that only disappear when I switch off the modem and you should know that modem works fine till now so should I be worried about this noisy sound comming from AC apdater and is this a commen issue with X3500 modem or it just happens with my unit only ?
    thanks in advance

Hi tarekeldeary. There shouldn't be any sound coming from the modem since there are no moving parts in it. Is it a high-pitched whining sound or a dull throbbing noise. Better return the unit and have it replaced.

  • FTP problem solved by Firmware update

When i bought my Airport Extreme in september i was really disappointed: *no ftp connections!* i tried everything, and then discovered (here in discussion) it was a bug in the firmware of the base station.
I solved the problem putting an old pc laptop with IPCOP between the ADSL ethernet modem and the base station.
Last week i did the firmware update of the base station and, FINALLY, the bug was not there anymore.
For me this means two things:
    1. i can get rid of the ipcop laptop (saving energy, space, etc)
    2. i will again advice everyone to use this base station.
    Happy mac user again

maartenada - I have no suggestions to make as regards fixing your apparent problem with port forwarding on the base station. But one thing you could consider doing (if you haven't already disposed of your Linksys router) is to set up your Linksys router again as the router that serves your entire network. Then cable the Base Station to one of the Linksys router's LAN ports, and turn off internet connection sharing on the Base Station turning it into a wired-to-wireless bridge device. I hate to have to say this, but even the oldest and most basic Linksys routers had better features than the one built into Airport Base Stations.

  • WRK54G ver 3 - FTP problems

I have a WRK54G ver 3, and I'm having problems with FTP.  I can connect just fine to my ftp site, but the connection is aborted when I do a dir.  I've tried both PORT and PASV modes, and both fail.  I've also connected my DSL modem directly to my computer and FTP works just fine with that configuration.  But if I try to go through the router, it doesn't work.  I've got all other connectivity through the router (mail, http, etc), just problems with FTP.
I find no firmware updates on the linksys site.  Is there any configuration options that would help me here?  Thanks for any help.
    Ross

The ftp site is not on my side of the router, but I did try assigning a static IP and forwarding 21.  Also tried placing myself in the DMZ.  Still no-go.  I still can't figure out why some ftp sites work, but not the one I care about.   Take away the router and  go straight to the modem - everything works fine.
    Other ideas?

  • Remote and Testing Server FTP Problems

I have a Dreamweaver site defined. I have an 2 domains and 2
FTP accounts. I am using one for my remote server and one for my
testing server. When I go to preview, it uploads the file to the
remote server instead of the testing server. Then it goes and tries
to view the file on the testing server and there is a file not
found error. If I try the same thing but use 2 network drives or 1
network drive and 1 FTP account (remote or testing), everything
works as expected. Any ideas why this happens?

Sounds like you are properly configured. I don't have a good
    idea why this
    is not working....

  • Dreamweaver 8 FTP problem

    Hi,
I have updated from Dreamweaver MX 2004 to Dreamweaver 8.0.2
three days ago. Everything went well with that update.
Dreamweaver 8 has kept my old FTP data so I was able to
connect without problem to my server and work flawlessly with my
files. But today, I thought it could be a good idea to refresh my
FTP data, so I have removed it and build new FTP server data inside
Dreamweaver 8. -- Now I can connect to the server, but I have lost
all my links to my folders, etc. Pictures are not displayed anymore
until I have to write the full path
    http://www.etc.etc/etc to relink
    to my folders.
Do anybody knows why, without having changing the links into
my site, dreamweaver doesn't recognize the relative path that links
to my folder? FYI, every .html, .js and .css files are placed
inside the same root folder, my pictures are placed in sub folders
    in the same root.
    Best Regards

    > After having installed the FTP part,
    > the local preview mode has cut access to almost all my
    files???.
Not possible unless you made some mistake. Did you by chance
    create a
TESTING server as well? I have seen some people duplicate the
    Remote site
settings for the testing server - and that would be a
    problem.

DW8 does allow this approach, but it's a very dangerous mode
    to work in -
particularly if you are not too sure about what DW is doing.

    Hi
Consider that I dont have FTP installed on my computer. According to this blog
    /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/08/01/along-came-a-file-adapter-mr-ftp-and-rest-of-the-gang
    I have configured.
In sender comm channel I have given Ipaddress of computer 1 (which has a file to be picked)
In Receiver Comm channel I have given IP address of computer 3 (in which file to be posted)
and computer 2 is the XI server
    Computer 1 has FTP installed
    1. XI server should have FTP installed or not ? IF yes is it FTP client  or FTP server   or Guild FTP (according to the blog is enough)
    2. Computer 3 should have FTP installed or not ?
Please help me I am really confused.
    Thanks

  • Dreamweaver 8 on INtel Mac ftp problems????

The basic setup: I have an emac, installed Dreamweaver 8 (actually the entire studio package), it works fine. I want to move our webpage to a new imac (intel). I've copied the files, installed Dreamweaver 8, done the set up for the site.
The problem is: I can't get the FTP connection to work. Whether I'm in the SIte Management section, the TEST part, or trying to connect (with the little electric plug icon), I get this message...a file activity window opens, "An FTP error occured -- Cannot make connection to host. Dreaweaver could not connect because the serve is down or not accepting connections."
Things I've tried: I've explored diligently the Adobe/Dreamweaver website.
I've deleted the Files for Dreamweaver, the web site files from the local host, I've tested the connection using other FTP methods (safari -- a test suggested by Adobe or FEtch); I read some of the posts here after searching for Dreamweaver/Intel items. The server is not down since I've been able to connect an upload from another computer; the computer does perform FTP using other methods...which I suppose I can do...but it makes an extra step.
    I"ve tried using Passive FTP or not; I've tried everything I can think of...or suggested by outside sources (adobe, an instructor who teaches Dreamweaver, the Apple forums here); I modified the Hard drive name to eliminate spaces;
I've come to the conclusion it is more an "Apple" issue rather than a Dreamweaver issue.
I'm using the Dreamweaver on an emac and it works flawlessly!! But I need to use the emac for other purposes and set up the website on the Intel imac...
The Question: Any ideas or solutions or something to try????
Thanks for any help, suggestions, ideas. Cathy (working in an elementary school computer lab...)

Yes--I've tried the "test" ftp address suggested by Dreamweaver; I've used fetch to connect as well as upload something.
I've connected to the server from another computer....
Thanks for trying but...the server seems to be functioning okay.

  • Problem with Linksys WRT54GS router? Please help.

Alright, so I have the WRT54GS, and for the longest time after I bought it, it worked just fine, but I've been experiencing problems lately. We have 2 computers running off the router. One is a wired connection, and mine is wireless, which I'm starting to hate. So whenever I'm playing any kind of game that takes up a lot of bandwidth, such as Call of Duty 4, it's been really laggy, and I get connection interruptions quite often. It disconnects me from all my online programs and, i have to wait about 20 seconds and the connection returns again. It's almost as if the router is just under strain and temporarily gives out? It happens if the other computer is running, or if mine is the only one being used. I really hope this problem is normal and fixable, because I don't have the money for a new router. So I'm wondering, can anyone help me? Please, any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Try the steps below to see if it will help.
There are many reasons for a poor wireless connection, and many ways to solve this issue.
    1.      Give your network a unique SSID and do not use Linksys and set your SSID Broadcast to enable.
    2.      You can also try A different channel. There are 11 channels and  1, 6 or 11 is better
    3.      You can try raising your router approximately 4-6 feet above the floor and make sure the antennas are vertical.
    4.      access your wireless software by going to your Profile or preferred networks, if any are named Linksys or ones that you do not know please delete them. Go to the settings or properties and check the information to make sure it is correct.
    5.      See if there are any updated drivers to download.
    6.      Try to use WPA encryption if you can
*** As always upgrade to the latest firmware
    Good Luck,
    Ttech

  • Problem with linksys EA2700

I've got a problem with my linksys ea2700. one time my network components get an ip-address like 192.168.x.x, the other time they get an ipaddres 10.184.x..x, I want that all my components will get the 10.184.x.x address, how can I solve this problem?

If your modem has a capability to be a DHCP server then just configure your EA2700 router as bridged. In that way, the EA2700 router will just act as a pass through device.

  • 10.6.3 FTP Problems :\

    hey,
My server just randomly stopped working on the ftp side of things, for some reason if I make shares on my other partition (not boot) it will work, But when the shares are on the boot drive they will not work, nor delete when i get rid of them out of server admin, connecting to its fine, just wont mount anything thats shared off the boot drive. finder says its a broken alias when i connect through that...
Cheers for your help, it will save me rebooting.

I was able to fix this problem by going into my Keynote presentations and figuring out which fonts were being used for each munged section of text (in the Master slide or the specific slide if some special text was added). Then go into the Font Book app (in the Applications folder), find that font, and I pretty much guarantee that you'll see you have a duplicate, with an old one (that worked), and a new one that I presume was installed as a part of the 10.6.3 update (that doesn't work). The way to be sure is to select the font in Font Book, then go to Preview > Show Font Info, and scroll down to Version -- bet you dimes to donuts your "duplicate" fonts will show two different versions. Disable the one that doesn't work (quickest way is highlight it in Font Book and uncheck the checkbox at the bottom of the window), and enable the version that does work. You may need to quit and restart Keynote, but when it comes back up, your fonts should work again.
Interestingly, the new font shows up as fine in Font Validation, so I don't know why the new one doesn't work, but it sure doesn't. At least there is a workaround...
