FTP problems cause computer freeze

Question

Hello,
When I am using Dreamweaver CS3, if for some reason while
uploading files over FTP, if the connection times out, sometimes
the whole computer freezes. I can't even move the mouse. Does
anyone have any ideas why this happens?

If you are running from a router, you do not need a firewall.
